Hi from Dublin Ireland, I've ran around pubs and danced all night to these types of songs. No green beer allowed in Ireland, don't mess with perfection. Or if it aint broke don't fix it
Great reaction! And I love the way you worked out that the song is intentional nonsense. Which of course is why the narrator ends his story with the ship sinking, with him as the only survivor, meaning nobody is around to contradict his ludicrous tale.
But I always felt bad about the dog drowning. I'm a big animal lover and thought "you know the dog won't give it away that the story is nonsense!" Thank you for the comment. 😎✌
It would be great if you could do more songs from the Dubliners. Their founding lead singer was the incomparable Luke Kelly, who sadly died aged 43, three years before this video.
@@drivingwithtodd1781 The song I most recommend with Luke Kelly is Rocky Road to Dublin ruclips.net/video/wtEKUWRpUWg/видео.html It is one of the hardest songs to sing, and Luke could sing it like no one else before or since. This particular video shows above all else how incredible Luke was, because he accidentally sings the second verse twice, but still manages to use looks and gestures to acknowledge his mistake, and to signal to the rest of the band to carry on, all while not missing a single beat.
Hi Dale ... I bring you up often when reacting to new wave songs. You were my sensei for that style music. You are becoming famous! Keep rockin' ... 😎🎸✌
Reached No. 8 in the U.K charts, so many legends and masters of music and Lyrics together...Ronnie, Shane, Barney, Phil Chevron, Sheahan, Terry Woods.......Spider Stacey etc., just imagine if Luke Kelly had been alive and there!!!!
R.I.P.Ronnie Drew this was classic Dubliners, and the Pogues were then and are now excellent 👌
Hoping Ronnie, Sinead, Shane and all are re-united. ❤️🩹☘️
Great to hear people enjoying the Pogues. Greetings from Ireland ☘
The joy on your face throughout is what music is all about.

I was lucky enough to see The Pogues live in the 80s. Shane is the philosopher and the town crier in one.
A pure Irish classic 💯🇮🇪☘️
It's a grand tale, its what makes us Irish lol listen to The Rattlin Bog 🇮🇪😍🌳
I love this my favourite song and the singing is effortless
Shane MacGowan, one of my favorites ! such a poet, great lyricist
Love the move’s man🇮🇪👍

A lot of non Irish tend to not pick this up. We are full of tales with no witnesses lol
The unreliable narrator is Ireland's greatest artist.
Ronnie Drew is the king of this music genre!!
I enjoyd your reaction :) greetings from Germany. :)

Agree!
No, actually Ronnie Drew was their founding lead singer, but Luke joined soon.
@@schusterlehrling I am aware of this, but what I meant was, Luke sang all the lead on their early material.
Shane's struggling now bless him

One of my favourite tracks is A Pair of Brown Eyes, by the Pogues, if you could, I'd love for you to react to it. Thank you
That is a request I will fulfill in a future reaction. I do love the song but it is a pretty sad one as well. Thank you for your comment. 😎✌

Rip shane
Dont forget Christy Moore (purple shirt) playing the bodhran. (Of Legendary group Planxty!☘️🇮🇪)
That was on the Gay Byrne show the longest running late show in Europe
A shamrock has three leaves not four .
