They aren't any one genre. They are simply The Warning.

According to Wikipedia The Warning is a hard-rock, alternative rock, post-grunge band. Some others have said they are a prog rock band, nu metal, classic rock, heavy metal, punk, post-punk, rock pop, grunge, and so on and so forth. To me their genre is simply "The Warning Rock", and I know I love it.

Genre is irrelevant with The Warning. If you would like a bit of metal, try Sharks. Try Evolve (7/8 metal intro, punk rock verse, classic rock chorus) at the 2023 VMAs for the variety pack of style.

The drummer here, and on their other early hit singles was session drummer Bobby Graham. Most of the Kinks recordings were done at Pye Studios near Marble Arch in London. Bobby Graham is also the drummer you can hear on the Dave Clark Five's hit singles from the same era.

The Warning are rapidly becoming their own genre!

They have a classic rock base, but songs may go towards hard rock, metal, grunge, punk, and other genres. Definite funk in this one!

This is In my favorite top ten song list. I am 62 so I have a lot to look back on. Its hard for me to understand how these kids could come up with a song like that. Dean Ford was in his 20s at the time. His life had hardly begun. He sings this song with such passion. It is hard to watch the video of him singing the song near the end of his life. I believe that there's no copyright issues with Joe's J&R productions videos (most of his live shows including Amsterdam). He bucks the trend in that he produces music for the fans and people regardless of profit making interests. Just another good side to a very humble yet very talented musician. You talk bout how the different artists interpret a song in their own way. You not sayin, like other use to do, "Oh, this is the best cover or His is the best version...you know. That tells me alot of your character....and damn, buddy...you feel it. you really feels it, man....just like i do...i tell you Gary changed my life....first song i heard of him was "Hiroshima" ..from his early Metal years...i was lucky to expierience Gary once live on stage. On his "After the War-Tour 1989 here in Cologne. i cannot discribe what i felt on that unforgetable evening. In 2014, through an acquaintance of mine, his little sister Patricia and I became pen pals. I then met her at the annual "Remember Phil & Gary" tribute evening by Thin Lizzy Sessions and The Gary Moore Tribute Band in Weert, Netherlands 2016 (you can find those concerts on RUclips). She was special guest singer there and took the time to talk with me, and she is as nice as Gary was, for sure. The most outstanding thing that ever happened to me.
