Going to Alaska on Norwegian Joy early Sept. First time to Alaska and on Norwegian. I already re-watched CTTV Alaska vlogs for info. Thanks for all you do!
If you have the space don't get rid of any clothes unless they have holes or stains. I got rid of a bunch of sweaters when I was trying Marie Kondo, and then they came back in style! I was sick. Also, clothes that I've had for 20-30 years are back in style. Thanks for the great tips. We are going to Alaska in a week and a half, and you were so helpful.
Fantastic video CTTV! When I saw this one involved Alaska, I sent my husband a message on Facebook so he could watch it since he has the day off today. We're cruising Alaska in May 2020 on the Bliss....so excited! We have almost everything done in preparation except for the excursions. We're planning on going to Seattle a couple days early to see Seattle but then to also take a day trip over to Victoria since we get only get a short time there at night on the cruise.
Joining the chorus of CTTV fans. Our next cruise isn't for over a year, and what keeps me going is the planning and anticipation. Listening to your podcast and watching your videos is like having a friend who enjoys chatting about cruising as much as I do. (And keeps me from driving my husband crazy, since I'm the main planner.)
It's nice that a robe is provided on the ship! We were on a 14 day cruise / land with HA Noordam through Discover Alaska! It was great, everything is planned. The 8 hr bus ride into Denali was a highlight!!☺
I was told recently that Naturalist will not longer be on the cruise ships. I was told the Governor put a stop to it. To me Juneau was a smaller town the Skagway. Also be careful going to the jewelry stores especially Diamond International it will cost you a fortune. ( learned the hard way). We Just got back from Alaska Cruise on Royal Caribbean Ovation of the Seas. The curse was June 14, 2019 for 7 days. If you are looking at excursions I highly highly suggest you look for excursions in Alaska way ahead of time or you most likely not get to do what you want. Every excursion that we tried to book on the cruise was full, especially if you wanted to go salmon fishing. We settle for other excursions and did have a great time. Juneau was good but we found more to do in Skagway then we did in Juneau. Juneau was full of stores and people stand outside of the Jewelry stores trying and beg you to come in and buy. Skagway we liked a lot better no pressure to buy this or that and to us a lot more to do. We did a tour where you take a tour bus up into Canada and then bring the White Pass train back. We also took a tour around Skagway looking at hunted places and ended up and the Red Onion Salon which was totally awesome . In BC we took a walking tour that was awesome and we got to see a glass condo on top a building that was sold for 8.9 Million. ( I wished) and visited local restaurants and other greats sites. The ship was a great, comfortable and your room temp you control it that was great. In Juneau and Skagway it was 65 degrees and warmed up. we wore short sleeve shirts. In BS it was warmer and water and Pepsi was great lol. Ovation of the Seas from what I understand is the largest ship in Alaska right now. Ohhhhhhh In Alaska the sun went down about 10pm and came back up at 3 am. The room had blackout curtains. You all have a great day and would I go back on an Alaska Cruise in a Heart Beat.
Earl Louks - as far as I know the Naturalists are still on the ships. The governor stopped the people who check the ships to make sure they aren’t polluting the environment/water - which the state of Alaska wasn’t paying for - so why the governor stopped it - I don’t know. The Naturalists are hired by the cruise lines to give their presentations and answer all the questions!
Cynthia G - we did snow dog sledding on Juneau through Coastal and not through the cruise ship. The one through Princess like this excursion was booked and through a different company. We went to the Herbert Glacier with an additional landing on a different part of the glacier. Basically, we had a two for one excursion and I highly recommend this excursion. I think it was at about 11 am and we got back around 3:30ish. We left Juneau around 8:30 pm. That was a great experience. Beware though that they told us the excursion is cancelled about 40% of the time due to weather. This will not be their fault. Safety first. As far as doing two excursions, depends on time of excursions. Honestly we only did one per port and walked around town the rest of the time so we could see each port. If you really have your heart set on dog sledding on snow, make sure you are going to another port that will give you this option.
Leaving in a few weeks for land and cruise on Coral Princess. Excited as it's our very first cruise. I'm an airline employee and can't believe I'm finally getting on a ship. I so appreciate all your great videos that I have binged watched for a few months now. I think I have purchased almost everything you suggest. Happy sailing and thanks again, Sheri and boys! You rock! I also friended you today on ShipMate. Looking for you now on FB!
FYI we were at the Vancouver airport on June 1 and a bunch of flights must have come in at the same time. Customs was a hot mess and took us about 2 hrs to get through. I’m glad we came in the day before. Plan accordingly since this is prime summer Alaska cruise time.
If you want to see Brown Bears in the Wild you need to be ready to pay some big bucks to catch a private plane and head out into one of the National Parks, there a few tour companies who have trips like this, $850 for a 6-7 hour trip.
Hi! I just discovered your channel and love it! I am planning a 7 day Alaskan cruise on the Ruby Princess for June 2020 out of Seattle. My husband is leaning towards a one-way trip, but I'm leaning towards roundtrip. Which do you prefer? Pros and Cons of each? Thanks for all the great info so far!
Going on cruise in less than 20 days! Is the White Pass Railway better if you go on bus first or last and does it matter? Is there a tour on train both ways? I have no idea....
yes, you can do it either way, and both are GREAT! Personally, I think the variety of the bus might be fun to try, but the round trip rail is possible.
Love Alaska...all 11 of my 35 cruises. Have been there to Alaska..4 different cruise lines...love them all...Done most excursions you can from taking the helicopter into the glacier ...driving the Iditarod dogs ....River rafting ...Whitewater rafting ...ocean kayaking.. shopping eating loving going to Alaska and just loving Alaska in general ..not very many excursions we haven't done ..did whale watching. This past April..going again in 49 days will find something new to do I'm sure...can't wait..Bringing my capris and T-shirts along because I heard the 80° weather might be sticking around on and off through the summer ..
wow 11 trips to Alaska!! amazing! if you had to pick your top 3 MUST DO excursions what would you suggest for a first timer couple with a small budget any other advice is much appreciated !!! have a great trip !
Hey Bonnie we’re not sure why it isn’t visible for this video. A couple of people have gotten in touch with us to say that they are experiencing the same thing. I’m so sorry.
Hi Cheri. We are going on Ovation of the Seas beginning of May. Do you now which port is the best priced shore excursion for a helicopter tour landing on a glacier?
Husband is fretting over the size of day bag Princess is allowing on the land tour and buses. He has lots of lenses for his camera and wants to take them. We were told 17/14/4 for size. Any suggestions? Wiggle room with sizing?
Maybe someone here can help me! I'm planning my family's very first cruise (ever) and I'm a bit overwhelmed. We will be going on a 9 day carnival Alaska cruise in 2020, and we will be traveling with a 3 year old and a 6 month old. How do we get around once we get to a port without car seats?? Are the towns in walking distance? Do they have some kind of shuttle or bus where you can just hold them in your lap? Do they have taxi or Ubers available with car seats? Haha I can't seem to find a clear answer to how this works from Google so hopefully someone here has answers! 😅🙏 Second question, what kind of excursions are doable with children in this age range? We will probably only be doing a few excursions, as I think it will probably just be easier to spend time walking around and seeing the towns for most of the stops...
Ketchikan tour that was very fun....Backcountry Zodiac Expedition - small Zodiac max 4 passenger boats. You drive them yourself and guide has their own boat. We saw nice wildlife up close including a humpback whale up close and personal
Going to Alaska on Norwegian Joy early Sept. First time to Alaska and on Norwegian. I already re-watched CTTV Alaska vlogs for info. Thanks for all you do!
Michelle Massey, my husband and I will be on the Joy on the 13! So excited. First time on NCL. Always sailed carnival in past!
33:05 Bless you!

Just caught up with the live stream. We would love to sail Alaska. Total bucket list destination.
Going to Alaska on the Norwegian Joy in September! So excited. Have enjoyed your videos!
Fantastic as usual Sheri. Loving your blouse, beautiful colour. 😄

Did you do a video on must haves and packing for your Alaska cruise? We are going in August on NCL Southbound Anchorage to Vancouver.
They did do one a little while back! I think I saw it in their playlists! We might be on the same cruise!
Love Alaska. Cruised twice with princess. Heated pools, covered pools! Great excursions! Love the land cruise-tours through princess.

Anyone going on the Southbound NCL to Vancouver August 19th??
Hey Sheri - have watched the replay - was wondering why I cannot see the “live chat”??
Hey Bonnie we’re not sure why it isn’t visible for this video. A couple of people have gotten in touch with us to say that they are experiencing the same thing. I’m so sorry.

Hi Cheri. We are going on Ovation of the Seas beginning of May. Do you now which port is the best priced shore excursion for a helicopter tour landing on a glacier?
They are all pretty pricey, and it's been years since I've done one, but I suggest considering Juneau.
Husband is fretting over the size of day bag Princess is allowing on the land tour and buses. He has lots of lenses for his camera and wants to take them. We were told 17/14/4 for size. Any suggestions? Wiggle room with sizing?
Sorry I missed this one 😔
Can I use a passport CARD. Going into the Yukon Canada by train from Alaska?
No passport book

Norwegian vs Holland America vs Princess (I would love for viewers to answer)
Norwegian for me!
Princess has more options, depends on your age group
@@adamfields4768 what makes you pick NCL? We're going next month and are looking for what to expect from NCL. Thanks!
Haha so fetch

Did you do carry on only for Alaska and did your husband pack a suit?
