Good stuff! Three additional tips: (1) wear goggles, (2) do this in the cooler portion of the day and when the sun is low or when it's overcast, and (3) thoroughly wet down all nearby vegetation with plain water first before you apply the cleaning solution; it will kill it if you don't.
Very informative video! Thank you for posting. We are just getting started and did a small shop yesterday. My question is: what do we need to do when some of the black stuff doesn't wash off, after two soap and rinse? We ended up using a brush to get it off, that's easy to do on areas easily reached but not the top of the house. We were using bleach and applewash.
I should have mentioned the lady that ownes the shop had never had it washed. She has owned it for 8 years and who knows how long the previous owners had it.
Yeah Pressure don’t clean. This is why we use soaps and detergents to clean vinyl siding. In fact you can do it with no Pressure Washer at all and get it Cleaner and if you did you just pressure
Oh my... this fella is absolutely hilarious and definitely informative with his videos!!! I give him thumbs 👍up definitely not a boring video thanks for this great information 👍
I see companies having a second guy using a second pressure washer to hit vegetation the entire time they are down streaming. If I only have one pressure washer could I soak it all with jrod switch over to my sh then switch back to water and continue hitting the shrubs? Or can I have someone just rinse everything with a garden hose?
A telescopic lance or suitable lance to get up close would be best for putting hypo / chems on sidings like this.. This would 1) prevent overspray......... 2) apply the chems more evenly 3) Get the job done in a more efficient way...... because of the low pressure the telescopic pole ( preferably Carbon fiber ) would be a sinch / easy to control because there would be no kickback from any pressure .. shooting it up from the ground like this creates a ton of waste chems / water and also lots of overspray. which could damage other surfaces.. just my 2 cents
Dan's vlog has a good video on that. Hes in the housewashing/lawn care business. I'd tell ya the exact mixture, but it's been a while since I've watched the video.
Its actually a way better and efficient technique to after you trace the outline of the side ur working on to just create a vertical wave and work to the other side just once if u do it right, switch to water n rinse and its fully clean. The way he does it doesn't hit undef the bottom lip of the siding.
Hi, Jason. Would you recommend that I clean asbestos shingles (siding) similarly? If not, what would you recommend? Eventually, I'd like to remove the asbestos shingles, but my house is over 130 years old and I'm unsure how it looks under it. However, one side of my house (facing closely to a neighbor's house) has the original wood siding, that looks in phenomenal condition. So, perhaps one day I'll consider it.
Spray patterns should be from top to bottom. Not the other way around. Especially when you have a clapboard pattern to follow. But he seems to know everything about everything.
@@STL0Zone Yes, the main chemical you want to look for is sodium hypochlorite. This is what kills the organic material on the house like algae or mildew. Just make sure you rinse thoroughly and rinse any plants or greenery you have as well because you want to avoid the chemical drying.
Ok thanks. My pressure washer has a soap dispenser hooked on it already. Could I just use that instead of using a separate container? Would it work just as good?

I have a question I have a 25 gallon tank I am downstreaming I have a 4gpm power washer and I’m using 12.5 SH what should be the ratio for a 25 gallon tank
If I have SH 12.5% and I'm going to just put it into a regular garden sprayer to spray on our deck for the bad algae that has made the wood even turn bark. What is the ratio of water to SH 12.5%
Thanks for all the great content. Are there any health effects from using the bleach? As far breathing it in or getting in the eyes when it’s misting in the air?
I use a floor broom with soft bristles, tote with some car wash and wax. Long extension handle. Does a good enough job, better results after or on a rainy day. Rinse with the water hose. Just bought a pressure washer but will probably still use the broom.
You should mention that down low, angle upward to get the bottom of the slats so they aren't still green when you get done. Other than that, its pretty much how i get rid of mildew and mosses.
That initial blast lol it gets me to every now an then to. I like that tip it’s got a great flow but I mostly use black tip on a 48” lance an a pink tip on the gun for higher areas an rinse
Pressure isnt important because this is soft washing. You just apply the sodium hypochlorite, let it set for 10 minutes, then rinse it off. When you use a pressurewasher to wash a home you use a low pressure/high flow soap and rinse tip.
Great video I need help I do pressure washing but I never use chemical but when I saw your demonstration is looking good. I have 32ft townhouse and 120units what is the best way to apply a soap without damaging a plant and discolouration the siding? Thanks for the advance reply....
If you use the sodium hypochlorite 10%,it shouldn't harm the plants or siding when used in conjunction with a downstream injector on a pressurewasher. If you have to apply it with a pump sprayer you'll have to dilute it with water alot.
Good stuff!
Three additional tips: (1) wear goggles, (2) do this in the cooler portion of the day and when the sun is low or when it's overcast, and (3) thoroughly wet down all nearby vegetation with plain water first before you apply the cleaning solution; it will kill it if you don't.
