High School Wrestler Steps Up to Sing National Anthem

This wrestler not only owns the mat but also commands the room with his voice. Isaac Bryant, 17, was at the wrestling district championships in Ohio when organizers realized they didn't have anyone to sing the national anthem. Bryant grabbed the mic and blew the audience away. The teen started singing in eighth grade, and joined choir in high school. He was happy to use his love of music to show his love for his country. #InsideEdition

Everybody is proud to sing their National Anthem, I sang A Soldiers Song (Anthem of Ireland) multiple times whenever needed to. Nobody should be afraid to sing their national anthem, and I am not a great singer, but I'm proud to be Irish, and proud to sing the song of Ireland's freedom from British oppression... So, fair play to this young man for proudly singing the American anthem of freedom from British oppression. I have had the privilege to be in the company of citizens of The Lakota Republic when they visited Ireland, their national anthem of freedom was beautiful too.

Why do we need to sing the national anthem before every sports event? It wasn't a "thing" until WWI. And, why not mix it up with America the Beautiful, which is a more singable and beautiful song? Other something else? There is no "law" about this, just tradition.
