Hello Martin and Helen. Interesting shopping - reminded us a bit of our time in Europe and shopping in some impressive places compared to much of what we have here. Your walk around Oradour sur Glane brought back some memories of a visit too, not all comfortable, but thank you for a piece very sensitively presented. Had to smile at the "road rage" by the roundabout - when we lived abroad was once told by someone that in one or two European countries (names withheld ! ) they didn't used to have roundabouts as their drivers wouldn't know how to "give way" ! Enjoyed the video - thank you very much. George and Trish
Thanks for your comments , I noticed that now that we are no longer in the EU people seemed concerned about not being able to bring dairy and meat products into the EU.I wanted to show the wonderful shops available to them in Europe , of course of which you well know , just to reassure them they will be fed well on holiday. It is my second visit to Oradour, I went over 20 years ago but recently during lock down read Max Hastings Book Das Reich , which probably know is about the 2nd SS Panzer Division, of which elements were responsible for the massacre . It then became more real to me. Thanks for watching Helen and Martin
Great update. Thanks for sharing some really interesting facts.
Hi Sylvia , always good to hear from you. We are loving this tour, it's been a long time coming , we decided not to come to Europe last year and we have really missed it. Best wishes Helen and Martin
You Two are so professional and entertaining on your videos with some humour too. I stumbled across your channel quite recently and subscribed and watched a few now love them. Also looked at your website and stunning photos. Quite jealous of your travels especially through France as we’re off to Domme in the Dordogne last week June for 2 weeks with caravan can’t wait now since last trip in 2019. Are you retired as I can’t imagine you could manage these trips and lifestyle if working. Anyway looking forward to following your trip and keep up the excellent videos. Thank You for such entertainment lots of people who do you tube vlogs could learn a lot from you.
Good morning , yes we are retired now and really enjoying it. A bit of heart surgery tipped us into retirement a little early perhaps than normal , the 70 hour weeks weren't do us any good and as our off spring were through university and married we grabbed the option with both hands, so after retiring and downsizing we swapped from 20 years caravanning which we loved, to a motorhome so we could be more mobile in our adventures. Our background story in a nutshell ! - we are now only limited by the Schengen rules. Thanks very much for watching best wishes Helen and Martin.
I really don’t blame you life is too short after what you’ve just said. I’m 60 this year and looking forward to planning more trips for retirement. Keep up the good videos and enjoy your trips. Looking forward to your next video and more to come.
Well done - I've known about the Oradour sur Glane massacre for some time but never really seen any informative videos showing the old village. I do remember seeing a photo of the burned out car. Your explanation was poignant and tastefully done - the french people have kept the place exactly at it was left in 1944 as a reminder of man's inhumanity to man. Anyway, onwards and the sunshine beckons!
Thanks Al , appreciate your comments and thanks very much for watching. We are holed up in a sandstorm at the moment in Spain its been an eventful trip. Best wishes H and M
Great video guys. Continue enjoying & sharing.
Thanks you . All the best Helen and Martin
We visited that village many years ago, what stood out was the amount of sewing machines left in the ruins.
I agree Steve , there were very eerily position. Thanks for watching , best wishes Helen and Martin
We always wonder if Haribo is made from Harbro products. French road rage is a thing to behold.
That's a very good point on the Haribo's - H's favourite when we are travelling . Thanks for watching best wishes Helen and Martin.
Very sad place, been there a few times.Great vid.
Thanks Andy , you're it is a sad place hopefully we dealt with it sensitively. Thanks for watching best wishes Helen and Martin.
we are heading to France and Spain in 3 weeks what adaptors do we need for our hose pipe to get water thanks Colin
Hi Colin , I would look on Amazon and buy a big of mixed sizes of plastic tap Adaptors. This year I even needed a male to male adaptor which was a first , having carried around for 10 years. I carry a bag of varying sizes and have used most of them at some time. If you check out our video in our Motorhome Tour of Europe - the route France to Spain , fast forward to 6.04 and I deal with adaptors issue - ruclips.net/video/CaIotm1pPS4/видео.html hope that helps best wishes Helen and Martin.
Guys, as always, loving your posts. Thanks for bringing us along on parts of the journey with you. So looking forward to your future uploads. I trust that the z7ii is still working for you? By the way - Martin, I think that you did that memorial piece very sensitively. Safe travels and keep enjoying.
I love the z7ii thanks such a difference in usability - thanks for your comments on the memorial piece it did challenge me a little to try and get the balance right. Many thanks for watching best wishes Helen and Martin
interesting stuff , France looks so nice , real quiet villages , glad your demonstrating how to use the aires i find this very useful thank you 👍
Cheers guys , the aires are really easy to use and makes us wish for similar facilities in the UK. The truth is though the French have more space at the end of the day. Thanks for watching best wishes H and M
Hi
You mentioned a park up, I think you say "Saint Paul Les Dex". I've looked all around the area and can't seem to find it. Any chance of a more accurate location please.

Thank you
Love the video. Love the music. Love your tour of France.
Thanks very much Roger, it's great to know you are enjoying it. Best wishes Helen and Martin
Assume you had to connect a hose to the water - what connectors do you carry - I know, a simple question but we plan our first trip to France this year and I have a million mundane questions!!
Hi Paul I have been asked a lot about adaptors for electric , gas (for refillable) and water a few times recently so it’s a good question on the basis that it’s clearly on a lot of peoples minds. I have collected a bag of different size tap adaptors over the years , your never know what you’ll need. Amazon normally have some with different thread sizes, it’s a long time since I bought mine so I can’t remember where I got them from . Trying to be helpful although I realise you didn’t ask this , you’ll need an electric hook up adapter to, as there are number of sites if you intend to use EHU still requiring a two pin plug adapter as well as a reverse polarity adaptor. The latter subject splits opinion but personally I carry a mains polarity tester plug and an adapter to reverse the polarity if needed. Good luck with your trip , if there’s anything else I can help you, with baring in mind I don’t claim to be an expert, give me a shout and I’ll do my best to help. Thanks for watching best wishes Helen and Martin
@@helenandmartinsTreks thanks
‘Pennines to the Pyrenees’ there’s your next vlog title right there, or it would be if you were still living oop North! The weather will improve for you soon I’m sure 😎. Nothing like over-pipping of car horns to stress you out more than the gridlock itself! Take care, safe travels, Sue.
They do love to sound their horns don’t they . That’s not a bad title is it , thanks for watching . Best wishes H and M
Manchester weather sure does travel. Another great vlog both.
It does guys , we are currently holed up in a sandstorm at the moment starting to think we should have bought and converted an Overlander 😂😂. Good wifi though so I haven't missed a Utd game. Best wishes H and M
They seem to like using their car horns on the continent much more than us Brits. Hoping the weather improves for you soon. ATB Dave & Helen 👍
Thanks for watching guys , I think once the sandstorm passes we are in for a return to normality. At least we have decent wifi 😂. Thanks for watching best wishes H and M
Lovely Vlog guys. Really enjoying your your. 👍🏻 Trev n Sue
Thanks Trev and Sue - we are loving this trip, we postponed it last year so the wait has made it more special. Thanks for watching best wishes H and M
The Haribo’s all look so different in France, I didn’t spot my favourites 😂 I must admit I do love how accommodating they are in the continent to Motorhomes. I can see what the problem was with that roundabout - there all going the wrong way round 😂
Tangtastic's by any chance ? - H's favourite . It is easier for vans especially in France. Thanks for watching much appreciated H and M
@@helenandmartinsTreks no Pinballs. I’ve had to buy some this evening now as you guys made me want some 😂
And another question - noticing Helen’s French - are you learning - did you use an app? - any recommendation?
H has always been good at languages from school Paul, but recently she has been using an on- line service called Babbel. I confess I’m not so gifted but try to make up with enthusiasm.
@@helenandmartinsTreks Babbel was the one I was thinking of signing up for also - seems to have some good reviews from others as well
Nice little catch up can’t promise to watch all the tour but were missing the vlogs so had a dabble, enjoyed this one 👍
Thanks guys we appreciate you watching when you can. Best wishes Helen and Martin
Been to where you've just been and where you're going whilst full timing. Great route we did it other way. .Enjoy
Hi Rosemary, thanks for watching . We took a year out a in 2018 and travelled in our van but returned to the UK and bought a house ahead of the Brexit transition period. A decision we often review , on balance we think it was the right thing for us, but have nothing but respect for the full time life. Thanks for watching best wishes H and M
We were glad we did it, 5 yrs but home now.
It’s great to meet you guys, you seem like a sweet funny couple!
Hi Dallas , we try not to take things too seriously. Thanks very much for watching , our best wishes to you H and M
I take it you are from The Fax then
Sorry Ray was this meant for us ? Not sure it means. Helen and Martin
