Met John at con and he was so nice and welcoming and he was so passionate about playing the punisher. He talked to me like an old friend and it was so nice.
Idk about the rest of you, but ever since the late 80's early 90's i haven't really liked many of the "action hero" types... it's not their fault really i mean we came from guys like Stallone and Schwarzenegger... hard acts to follow. But with guys like Tom Hardy ane John Bernthal on the scene, i'm feeling a lot better!
Your comment is basically a slap in the face to Tom Cruise lol, seeing as he's the first action star that springs to mind of that mid90s-early10s void that you're referring to. But I agree. The big burly caricatured action stars of the late 80s/early 90s were replaced with dramatic actors infiltrating the action genre as the films became more realistic, more grounded & more serious. So folks like Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, Keanu Reeves, Daniel Craig as Bond, etc. I mean even someone like old man Liam Neeson has been big in the action genre this last decade or so. (this is partially why beefy Dwayne Johnson has found more success with family films rather than true Sly Stallone/Arnie type roles, because those old school action roles haven't been popular in recent times). But as you say Jon Bernthal has found his niche with his Punisher style characters & even though I'm not the biggest fan of him, Tom Hardy seems to play a lot of meathead characters. So who knows, maybe the old school action star archetype might be back on the rise
Awesome observation Alex! I totally agree. An X-Files reboot would be a good idea even though I generally hate reboots. Jon's a great actor, he would make it worthwhile. Any suggestions on who think would be a good choice to play Scully??
After meeting johnny in person and having several conversations with him daily (for 2 weeks); I can confirm he is a awesome dude. I only hope I can work on set with this guy one day.
It's so funny how grim and moody most of his characters on film are, then you watch an interview and he's the most charismatic, warm dude. Great actor.
I love this guy, so genuine and humble. I remember going to see Fury and my friends hated him because his character was so evil but then they saw Punisher and were like “oh shit this guy is awesome”. I think most people though knew him as Shane from The Walking Dead and he was the best part of that show. Michone was cool and she sort of filled the void that was left when Shane was killed. However he still made season 2 great and season 1 is still the best season of that show 10 seasons later.
Jv woods definitely, but there was nowhere left for his character to go unfortunately. It was the only part about season 2 that was worth stretching thin.
I think the first (and only?) time I've seen Jon Bernthal was in "The Accountant", and thought he was great...now an even bigger fan after watching this! Intelligent and thoughtful and kind.
Jon is such a great inspiration for us all. Super genuine and an honest guy. Not only a great actor of his time and i truly believe he will go down in history as one of the greats. I think he will be in more, meaningful & bigger projects. Kudos!

@@KaizerMan tom Cruise is diying out now he's old news
I could never stand Arnold Schwarzenegger and Stallone.
If there was an X FILES remake, i can see him playing Fox Mulder
Lol i cant unsee it now
Dude, yes!
Awesome observation Alex! I totally agree. An X-Files reboot would be a good idea even though I generally hate reboots. Jon's a great actor, he would make it worthwhile. Any suggestions on who think would be a good choice to play Scully??
Hands down one of my favorite actors. Nothing but respect for Jon Bernthal.
Jon Bernthal is an amazing actor. Love his work
After meeting johnny in person and having several conversations with him daily (for 2 weeks); I can confirm he is a awesome dude. I only hope I can work on set with this guy one day.
I’m a totally straight man, but Jon Bernthal is a handsome devil. Again, no homo.
i love this guy’s work such an awesome actor
Jon Bernthal is SO underrated!!
It's so funny how grim and moody most of his characters on film are, then you watch an interview and he's the most charismatic, warm dude. Great actor.
This guy is a phenomenal actor.
I saw The Iceman Cometh in London, too. Spacey was fantastic. I had my picture taken with him and he didn't try to pick me up... so yay.
He reminds me of Aaron Eckhart. Both fantastic actors.
He does. For sure.
This is an actor . His demeanor from voice and mannerisms are completely different from his characters.
Not to many you can say that about!
Jon Bernthal here reminds me of David Duchovny in X-files.
Seb B omg yes yes YES!
"People who are scared probably have a fucking reason to be scared" he understands
Punisher Movie : Jon kills Spacey for real!
John looks after spaceys children and wife
Cartridge World Spacey plays Billy Russo in movie; he would’ve loved that
I love this guy, so genuine and humble. However he still made season 2 great and season 1 is still the best season of that show 10 seasons later.
still would of been great if shane was still around when negan showed up. Cant imagine how that would of played out.
Kudos!
He's a snitch who immediately thew his co-star under the bus when it was safe to do it.
Love this guy and good on him for speaking about that scumbag
Wow, I think I'm in love with Jon Bernthal now, lol. He's so great, I love how real and genuinely nice he is and his mouth is as dirty as mine is.
Great actor dude kills it in everything he's in
Bernthal is such an awesome dude 🤘
Jon Bernthal was great in The Ghost Writer!
He looks like hes growing out one of those 90's mushroom haircuts
w here yeah but the 90s are back, notice his buttoned up flannel as well I think he looks dope
Lmao, nice.
the middle part is not doing him well
Im not yet used to seeing him chill like this, i almost always see him playing badass angry roles whether hero or villain.
You are great Jon! I got to see you work for first hand. Anytime you want to go for a free balloon ride, please reach out! You were the nicest, most generous actor on set. Thanks for making my first day on the job a success.
This guy was good in Sicario.
SparksDrinker he basically played Kevin Spacey
+Jack S not really
Yeah. Watching that liberal Brit slut getting choked was entertaining
Mad Respect for him. You can tell he's a good man, too many assholes in Hollywood today, we need more people like Jon Bernthal.
Jon was so good in the movie " The Accountant " love him!!
HAHA the guy behind Jon playing Candy Crush on his phone behind the curtain. Classic.
I'm here from Joe Rogan
