If you are a gay man you have the same opportunities as a straight one, not more. Same goes for females. Frankly that is enough. A Ghost Without a Past In two of Sub Saharan Africa's most spoken languages historically, there are words for the devil and demons. Nice try though. By the way Christianity made its way into Africa way before it did Europe. The Ethiopian Empire which might I add was never conquered by a foreign power, was historically Christian for its nearly 2000 year history. while Europeans were practicing Paganism and sun worship. The Swahili Coast Empire was also historically Christian and Islamic. These are historical facts verified not only by historians, but the bible itself. The only denomination shaped by Europeans was Catholicism. A false and extremely flawed denomination for their outrageous deviations from the bible. The most obvious of their deviations is viewing the Pope as a holy figure, and praying to Mary. Even when. Even when Europeans practice Christianity they are still heathens. The same people (Romans) who crucified Christ. BTW so what if you don't live in the United States? Whether it be the UK, Canada, or Australia it is plagued by multiculturalism, interracial dating, political correctness, feminism, homosexuality, and Islamic terror. You came here on youtube to spew insults at others because you cannot do it freely in your country without political correctness and liberals coming for your throat. In my country we can insult foreigners to their faces and get away with it, a privilege I know you don't have in your country. Benefits of living in a conservative and racially homogeneous society. Even living in cities I hardly see non Africans so even if you think I don't know about your culture, the point is I don't need to. You are probably sitting there wondering how I know all of this? Travelling as a businessman between Africa and the UK for a number of years opened my eyes to this mess in the Western world. After coming back I realized that if places like the UK is what a "tolerant" society looks like, I would much rather Africa continue to be a conservative society full of "stupid people" as you put it. You can take it for ignorance if you'd like, but we will defend and preserve our people at any cost and will not allow our people to be mixed out of existence or destroyed under the guise of "tolerance".

So because these western countries have legalises homosexuality then every single country should follow suit. The western countries should allow African countries to legalise homosexuality when they feel it’s appropriate. I'm a gay man from asia and president akufo addo has been one of the figures i respect the most and his response is very well said. But reading the comments makes me sad. There is no "gay" agenda that anyone is trying to impose. Minorities everywhere had been oppressed in history, racial minorities, religious, and sexual, and decriminalizing homosexuality is simply progress, not a country "going gay" whatever that means.
I don’t really get this argument. Sounds a lot like saying “It’s fine that America didn’t abolish slavery until the 1860s because it wasn’t really on the political agenda until then.”
It's more like saying: "Yo here in germany post ww2 we have a lot of rebuilding to do and the current political climate doesn't want us to focus on this specific social issue but instead prioritize other things". It's not right but if the people don't want it, who are we to force them to? A government should have as it's main focus the wellbeing and happiness of it's citizens. If a majority there doesn't want it to be legalized who are we to judge that?
Are you seriously comparing this to slavery?? Are you serious??? CN you change the colour of your skin?? Cn you change your sexual preference?? Answer those 2 questions and get the answer for yourself
Again while I do not agree with much of the LGBT community I also do not believe they should be jailed tortured punished for who they are. All it does is push them further from mainstream.

No they don't. You've been misinformed. Nothing happens to gay people in Ghana. What they don't do is openly promote gay unions and special minority rights for them as if they were disabled or disadvantaged in any sort of way because of the way they have sex. If you are a gay man you have the same opportunities as a straight one, not more. Same goes for females. Frankly that is enough. Victim mentality won't get LGBTQ anywhere in Africa because they are equal to heterosexuals, not less than.
What amazes me the most is how he's simply opened to what the people from his country want, Ghana has bigger issues at the moment and their social structure simply doesn't put too much pressure into this matter exactly like he said but just the fact that he's not blindly declining it merely because he doesn't like it is honorable.

nadeen kortei Why doesn't Africans do a spell to turn homosexuals straight?
I see what you did there😏

The irony here is your uninformed emotional opinion on sexual orientation as detrimental; homosexuality is as old as human history and its rather pathetic that people still imagine "they are being guilted into accepting", if its not your body and does not involve you - the activities of two consenting adults behind closed doors do not require your acceptance or opinion especially because no one opines on your sexual orientation. We have gay people everywhere in Africa and its idiocy to imagine that pretending they do not exist will make them disappear when history shows that eventually you have to accept them as human. "Yeah i dont have a problem whit it but my people dont want it so its not my call"
Again while I do not agree with much of the LGBT community I also do not believe they should be jailed tortured punished for who they are. All it does is push them further from mainstream.
@@carmelopappalardo8477 As a Ghanaian I can tell you there are openly gay people in Ghana. While it is technically illegal, it is actually never enforced. Yes, there is some social stigma, but nobody is getting arrested for being gay.
@@Cacao613 still it is illegal. If someone wanted to arrest someone you could and nothing could be done about it because it is illegal.
@@carmelopappalardo8477 why the fuck you want them to be mainstream ,they should be marginal

In the Gambia🇬🇲 people's choice of LGBT is 0,000 percent 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Tired doctor preach
Because everybody is afraid to be free, I am sure there are a lot of Gambia’s man that are hiding in their closet because they don’t want to be judged
@@mrkowalski3479 And they should stay there
@@basedmongoloid2278 yes I guess the majority of the people prefer to live in a lie, such a pity, people always complains about being oppressed but then they can’t see on who is being oppressing
@@mrkowalski3479 Your assertion that everyone is afraid of freedom is ludicrous. You say that like the moral struggle people have is as simple as, "Muh freedom." Ultimately, it's a struggle between sensation and morality. I don't believe two people, each with the same set of XY chromosomes being in a relationship is natural. It seems more like a fetish than anything else. In this case, the issue becomes whether it's good to be a slave to your sexual desires, or to rise above as a human and hold yourself above those behaviors.
Gay rights are also human rights
Ghana operates in democracy...democracy says majority wins the vote... majority doesn't want gay in gh ...so just accept the fact.thank u
