I love finding cheap stuff at Burlington but I'm always stunned at how poorly most of their stores are maintained. I found a bloody turd in some shoes once.
Did you buy them? 😂
Jesus Christ 🤢 I would have screamed
Now when you say you found a bloody turd do mean like "I found a darn turd in some shoes" or was the doo-doo actually covered in blood?
@@skree_fpv436 unfortunately I don’t think she’s using “bloody” like in the British slang way 😭
@@skree_fpv436 the blood was mixed in with the dook. It was actually a nicer Burlington so I think a child may have done something nefarious.
The fact that there is or was a food section at Burlington Coat factory is scary enough
You know what's really hard to find there? A coat.
Because we are not known as Burlington Coat Factory anymore we do get coats he wasn’t over in the clothing section he was clearly in Linens
@@masterleafgirl2106 I know. The selection still sucks though. Last time I was in one there was like 2 racks of coats for men and 5 or 6 for women. Couldn't find one in the right size, so I went across the street to walmart and got one. Which I'm sure was much better priced as well.
All those random department stores have candy and weird unknown food brands
Went here as a kid sometimes, it was probably my least favorite place out of anywhere, would have rather been in school probably.
Oh wow, that is foul! It's kind of ironic that all the old abandoned places you've explored and you rarely find something dead, but in the middle of an open Burlington Coat Factory candy aisle is a deceased rodent. Yuck.
OSHA where are you?
Poor managment, obviously slacking rather than checking inventory and necessary shelf organizing. Smh
I need to stop reading comments before I watch the vid
@@strawberrysoda383I mean, look at what they hire too usually.
Spoilers
You have got to be joking. OH MY GOD!!!
Should have asked if you could buy the mouse. "Sir, how much is this item?" *points at rotting rodent carcass on shelf
lolol my dad would do that
@@ferociousgumby It died as it lived: in pure bliss.
But considering how bloated it appeared, my guess is that it engorged itself until it experienced an impassable internal blockage and died from an impacted digestive system. Perhaps it was solely food, perhaps it was a plug formed from cardboard and plastic originating from chewed-through packaging.
That, or it ate expired smurf shit and died instantly. Who's to say?
LOL I would've died laughing if I was the employee
LMFAO 😂half off
I’m surprised the dead rat didn’t have a price tag on it. It matches all the other merchandise.
Bahahahaha damn!!
That sad but true honestly
😂👍
OP, so true. Have to take your comment to posterity with a screenshoot...xD
Goodwill would have had like a price of $9.99
Would've been a "Flashing Blue Light Special" at K-Mart...
Can we just appreciate the irony of a Mickey Mouse painting saying “Happiness is a state of mind” and then finding Mickey Mouse not in that state of mind?
🤨🤗😂
😂😂😂
i love how dan can smell death and know exactly what it is like a cadaver dog
😂😂😂nose of a bloodhound
We had an animal get into our chimney and die in there. We could smell it through the fireplace…you never forget that odor.
Big ups to you for telling someone that works there about it instead of just walking out. That shelf probably hasn't been properly cleaned off in months.
cool dan vs pfp
Burlington realistically needs to hire wayyyy more recovery associates to fix merchandise (and even just employees in general), but corporate refuses to give payroll and then stuff like this happens. They also like to send merchandise even when there's no space left to put things on. The only thing they care about is the bottom line. Former employee and glad I left them when I did.
i work there and u are 100% right its BS they keep making our stores smaller too
The saddest thing is that the mouse put you off from buying those glorious wall pictures
😂😂😂
I’ve never actually seen a Burlington’s Coat Factory in person. I just assumed from seeing all of the commercials as a child that it was like, a bougie store? This video has shaken me to my very core.
They sell name brand stuff and cheaper than Walmart. Love Burlington lol. Mine is not this messy though.
Its just a big Ross but Ross has better clothing selection tbh. Maybe at one time it used to be a boujie coat store but the economy has hit everyone hard
@@sweatergod5386My entire life (29 years old) Burlington Coat Factory has been a place to get cheap, shitty Chinese clothing that tries to pass itself off as name brand or high quality. They are more expensive than Walmart, but you get better quality stuff at Old Navy. Also when i was a kid they mostly only sold coats. Crazy how they've changed.
Same. I thought it was filled with clothes for big guys which is probably why I never went to one.
Yes, I too had this assumption. And like you I have never been in one.
I lived in a 130 year old farmhouse growing up and we always had mice all up in our walls, and when one got trapped and died it would STINK for days. Just a random spot in the house would smell like death for a bit and then it would fade but GOD it was horrible 🤢🤢🤢🤢 it's truly amazing how tiny animals can produce such strong horrid smells.
Had a possum die under my house and it was the worst smell ever. I hope to never experience that again.
Possum got trapped in our garage trash can while away on vacation. Can confirm the smell was death multiplied by 10, made me vomit as I stepped out of the car thankful to be home yet so unaware..
@@TeeterTuckinit’s no joke! I was so ready to end it all after dealing with that stench for 4 days.
I am sorry you all had to experience this. I will pray to baby Jesus
Also, about the mouse. Yes, pests get in, and that IS a part of life. Especially when an establishment sells or serves food. But when you have rodents IN your foodstuffs, when they're shitting and DYING on shelves, and sitting there rotting and stinking?? THAT is NOT normal. That is a huge sign that there is an ongoing problem that has not been addressed. I wouldn't have bought anything, either. I have worked in food-service for over 25 years now, at many different places. I've seen a few bugs. But I've never seen a single rat. And I can count the times that I have seen mice, on one hand. Actually, I can only think of TWO occasions, each at a different place, off the top of my head. Both times were dealt with swiftly, and pest control quickly called (as they should be). And both times, the mouse was on the ground. One was actually outside. So yeah, that does happen occasionally, and I've seen it myself. But I have NEVER, in 25 YEARS and 8 or 10 different restaurants, seen a mouse on ANY food prep surface, food storage surface (shelf), or food serving surface. I haven't even seen one in a food storage area! For this to happen, at this Burlington, it has to be filthy, and there's no telling how many others there might be, or how long they've been there. I'd hate to see the state of their back rooms! They are very obviously not cleaning or even organizing anything, and they should not be selling food. I don't know that I'd be the one to report them or anything, because things DO happen. And it's always possible that this was simply a weird, isolated incident. But I don't feel that's likely. And I sure as hell wouldn't shop there anymore.
I was thinking the same thing, my friends and I work in food service so bugs and rats come with the territory (luckily never worked in places that had huge infestations or anything like that) but the fact that there’s a mouse that’s been dead for quite a while on a department store shelf like that is disgusting 😭
I really miss when it was “Burlington coat factory” for anyone who doesn’t know, they mostly sold coats and high quality clothes, but it has resorted to fast fashion now… it’s also concerning that they sell food-
That's sad. It used to be a great place to get discounted coats.
Burlington has always been ghetto 🤣 I've found so much food, snacks etc expired, opened and all over the floor. I would definitely not trust any of their snacks. Especially after seeing a dead rodent 🤮
Also looks like mouse poop around there
Dude Burlington is not ghetto I find that extremely in bad taste you say that the store is extremely busy and because of a bad experience you wanna label a company that I work for btw as ghetto what are you a rich snob that shops only at Neiman Marcus maybe you should watch how you word things because you don’t know who may be seeing this I’ve worked for Burlington for 8 years we just moved to a brand new store and my store is clean and maintained your comment is very hateful
Dude, our Burlington was staying open until midnight for a while. Can you imagine what kind of ne'er do wells would be hanging out there past 10 o'clock? There's always broken glass inside and the impulse aisle by the register looks bombed straight to hell.
@@benherkin6041 They did that at the one near me in the lead-up to Christmas. Because who doesn't want to unwrap the crap left on the shelves at Burlington on Christmas morning, right?
@@benherkin6041 that isn’t the fault of Burlington itself a lot of times customers do that and also in what state were they open till midnight that only happens at Christmas time most of them only are open till 11 especially at the time of year this took place in…..You need to realize as bad as this is with that rodent in the food section and that was bad it’s due to not enough staff on the sales floor or not enough cashiers up front on register and the sales floor people have to be up front running register it happens everyday people call off and they can’t get people to stay or come in it’s a cycle I see every day and trust me I’m not making excuses for that mouse in the food section but you all need to work for Burlington like I do to understand the daily day and life working there
Dan’s POV filming is an absolute art form. Its absolutely hilarious how he points out the absurdity.
11:03 Brushoff! The snacks stayed, just the mouse was removed.
Fun for the entire family!
😋👍
More likely than not, the mouse was removed, the poop wiped off, and the food put back.
yep
those snacks ain't going anywhere anytime soon
Thanks Dan 😂 this really made me laugh, trust you to come across poor stinky Jerry, at least he died in candy heaven 💟
😂😂😂
Can you imagine how depressed the employees must be? It looks like if hell was in a retail outlet. Also fun fact: judging from the way the carcass looked you can tell that it died from ingesting rat poison called superwarfarin. It makes them bleed internally.
I really feel there’s no basis in those “Compare At” prices, except that yes, $29.99 IS cheaper than the amount of $60.00 they pulled out of their ass…
That mouse had a full stomach and smile on his face, before he passed 😂
You are doing us a disservice if you didn't go back the next day or week or month and record those shelves to see the same food still sitting there contaminated. I'd be willing to bet they are. There's a nonzero chance the mouse'll still be there, too. Baltimore, way to live up to your reputation! Kensington St. Philly and Flint's Water Authority need to up their game!
"Not Another Dirty Burlington" LMAO
You could have gotten that Prada painting for free if you acted like you touched the mouse when reaching for candy & said it traumatized you. Rip Burly mouse.
“Sir, you’ve got a big problem! There’s no price tag on this rotting mouse carcass!”
I’m blaming the rats death on the pork rinds. He was obviously suffering from some sort of cardio vascular issue.😂
I think it ate that chips bag that was opened lol
probably had a nibble of those expired gummy worms
Thank you for not spoiling the reveal in the title. It was worth the watch. Thanks Dan!
I love how Burlington is opening new stores everywhere and they’re still ghetto!
Apparently Burlington Coat Factory is a cross between a Kmart and a Goodwill? You should call the health inspector on that store, that mouse has been there a WHILE.
As I was watching this, I farted, and it was right BEFORE Dan says "I smell something dead" LMAOOOOOO
If Burlington Coat Factory doesn’t clean up that store, then that store is going to have to shut its doors
Curious which location that is
@@Karmy. My hometown store. Centre at Glen Burnie. A lot of work was done to revitalize that mall once the indoor portion was demolished. I had no idea the Burlington was so dirty 😆
@@VGHSyntheticOrchestra Is there a local news channel that would be interested in that footage?
there are much worse, S, Fargo, ND has the lowest rated burlington
Lmfao good one
😮😮🤮 my skin was CRAWLING after you found that mouse. How did no one else SMELL it?
I bet they didn't throw anything away
It's so crazy how much things have changed even from when i was born in 1989. In the 90's things still felt like creativity existed. We had awesome toys, animated series/movies, entertainment centers, the list goes on. There was an assortment of living choices. Lower priced, middle, etc. Nowadays they've torn down everything to build the same copy & paste overpriced bland crap. That issue persists into every aspect of our society. The me in the 90's- early 2000's would have never believed that all good animation would disappear, that any somewhat affordable housing would vanish, all while the overall quality of living in our town would drastically go down. That would have been unacceptable back in the day but nowadays we've all become so numb to this madness & i just wish our society & quality of life could improve because idk how things can continue on being this unaffordable, bland, soulless. While the majority of people are barely able to afford basic living costs.. i just know things could be so much better than this. There's so much creativity and passion we aren't tapping into. Sorry that store really made me think about all this.
As an Artist that hates most commercial art, i love your banter on the crap at Burlington 😂
Agreed, so many talented artist in almost every city! Support local struggling and up coming artists, I am no artist but have bought some amazing pieces for relatively low cost.
@chubbawubba4287 the commercial stuff has no substance lmfao it can be hilarious to look at though.
modern art would make a beautiful wallpaper (for your walls), but putting them in frame as an art piece instead of just a texture is crazy.
What? You dont like Cy Twombly's painted rectangles?
I stopped going in burlington years ago when a guy ran around threatening people with a hypodermic needle. I stay away from that whole strip mall area.
And I thought Burlington Coat Factory just sold coats.
Lmao righttt thats what i thought from title too haha so funny that store shouldn't exist thats sort of equivalent to a store we have in Canada called designer row where the clothes they sell there it smells like rodents such an old smell to them i think they were once on a dead corpse.
I'm thinking they should go back to that. The current strategy of selling whatever garbage they can get their hands on isn't working.
I believe they originally did and only do during winter and fall season, it’s hilarious lol
That's what I always thought too
Now they basically sell any garbage except for coats
What's funny, right when you said "That's harrible!!", the "HARIBO" gummy bears package was in view!
That’s horrible!!!!! And I’m sure the employee or manager you spoke to, probably didn’t even throw any of that food out!
Today at 5 something AM I learned that Burlington Coat factory doesn't _just_ sell coats.
Poor little mouse :( I've never been in a Burlington, didn't even know they had a food or vitamin section.
Dan you know those sour gummy worms are deathless regardless of an arbitrary date printed on the packaging 🤣
Thanks for another hilarious classic
Of course this happened to Dan, while he was filming 😂 lets hope that this was only and last time when he sees a corpse 😂
I mean there was that one time he found human teeth in Leakin Park.
And of course we still don't know the story behind The Mattress from Dirty Room live.
You should go back and see if they even threw any of that stuff away!
THE uncontrollable LAUGHTER AFTER YOU FOUND IT absolutely KILLED ME "hey kids you want some candy and chiyups" lmaooooo
This might be the most random title and video from Dan Bell I've ever seen. I love it
For people asking, stores like Burlington's, Ross, Marshall's ect are stores that sell overstock from other high end places or other stores.
The food they have usually is still fresh and/or shelf stable if it hasn't been fucked with beforehand but are often from product lines thst have been discontinued or the original stores have gone out of business or needed to get rid of stock to make room for new items.
You know for a fact he didn’t throw away any of that product..
🤢
A routine shopping trip ends with Dan coming upon a horrible sight. Is he cursed?!
Burlington is the trashier version of Marshalls. The last and final time I shopped there for a pair of pants was seven years ago. I used my credit card to pay for my item, and about 45 minutes after checking out, someone used that same CC to buy a bunch of women's clothes at Delia (no longer in business). I have a strong feeling that my card was swiped through a hidden fraudulent skimming device at the checkout.
ratatouille was looking for ingredients.
Oh my Christ, I would've cried seeing that in my store regardless of business conditions. Can't be blamed, like you said, but oh my Lord lmao Poor Stuart Little 🐁
You made the same vomit sound my husband makes changing a baby’s diaper 🤣
Guaranteed they put the food back on the shelf.
When you zoomed in, I felt like I could smell it 😂
I used to work at one of these stores. I didn't expect something much different than what was found. 10/10
I missed these wander around a store videos! I'm gonna have to revisit some of the older ones after I finish this one. 😊💜
Why not make these videos daily. Remember the ones you made at 3am shopping at walmart? Love that type of content.
Those are fun.
Same!
I keep going back to the Walmart, Goodwill/Thrift store, and truck stop tour for the exact reason. They are entertaining. Plus it feels like we are tagging along with Dan for outings.
I still frequently rewatch those 3am Walmart shopping videos now, 4 to 5 years later. Just something special about those videos.
I think Walmart started closing after 11
Dan, I apologize up front , when I saw what was in the candy area, I couldn’t stop laughing!!😂 all the abandoned places, and you come across that in a store…..🤣
Whenever Dan Bell says he finds something awful, I gotta click! Thank you Dan!
that mouse was nicely bloated - rdy to be popped!
I might be a little behind the times but since when does Burlington sell food? I thought they mainly sold their own off brand cloths and leftover stock from name brand stores? Adding food into that sort of a mix is indeed an awul thought! ... And on that note I'll shush up and actually watch the video. ^_^
The Burlington by my house sells a pretty small yet weird variety of candy, chips, and snack type stuff.
My boyfriends bought a couple of things there and of course he never looks at dates but every time it's either completely molded or stale.
Basically since they dropped the "coat factory" part of their name they're a low rent TJ Maxx.
Yeah it's like the world's shittiest Goodwill
We have sold food for quite some time at least as long as I have been with the company majority of it kept at the Que in the front but we have always sold food
@@masterleafgirl2106 Well, fwiw I haven't shopped at Burlington since before moving to Florida. So, I think the last time I've been in one of those stores was maybe around 1997-ish?

.3) When life gives you lemons make , WAIT WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT......A DEAD RAT ?)
These 3 will be at Burlington Coat Factory and Kohls in Detroit,Oakland, and Portland Oregon just in time for the holidays!
burlingtons have been much more sad these days they keep reducing stock. theres locations where if u check the photos from 2017 they are stocked with tons of stuff and clean but now they are empty and messy
3:25 - that gold monstrosity behind the dog painting is literally in every winners/marshalls/value village/savers. I can't escape it!!
i physically held my breath and put my sleeve on my nose just watching this haha
Fuck that was there for a while! How did they not smell it! I cringed when you said something smelled dead, I wanted to turn away lol
They really ARE more than great coats! 🐀
The mouse had a great life. Probably died from eating all the cookies and candies.
Should’ve sent that RUclips video to Corporate 😮😂
You should take the dead rat up to the counter for a price check.
@DanBellFilmIt - HAD to thumbs up because you dug down to the dead mouse. Good job! XD
Every Burlington ive ever been inside looked like a hurricane had rolled through. Sparked my anxiety something awful.
This had me HOWLING. Your shopping videos are some of my favorites
The sound of you trying not to throw up is always too much to listen to! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Now that's what you call junk food. Even the rat died after eating it (R.I.P.)
I LOVE when you shop at these places! More of this please!!! ❤❤
That was one of many . No doubt the Store has an infestation problem. 🐭
The fact that packaging behind the mouse had an arrow advising the calorie count was perfect.
Holy crap! I barely ever comment on videos, but that was the best! I literally laughed so hard it brought me to tears! Then the ending was so freaking disgusting. Wow…such a great video. Dan, you’re the best. 😊
Poor little guy got smothered under bags of candy. ☹️
LMAO!! I love going shopping with you Dan - you always make me LOL!! ♥
🤣🤣🤣🤣You had me rolling i was crying ...the build up.. bag after bag .......WTF!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dan, I’m really loving these new videos. Keep it up!
They are no longer Burlington Coat factory. They're just simply Burlington. From working there for a couple years, they run long hours and high quotas on very few people. It is hard for floor Associates to maintain the store when they're constantly called back to the register because they can't keep cashiers. I remember we would process shoes and clothing from Ross, nike, and other stores. You can get pretty cheap stuff, but it's a tough job to maintain with only two of floor Associates keeping an entire store clean.
As a customer if you see something like this immediately report it just like he did.
omg those paintings with the shoes and flowers.
i worked in a garden center once and we had a few rats outside. i don't agree with it and think they should have used traps, but they put poison out. wasn't just bad ethically, it left us with half-dead rats roaming around in broad daylight, unafraid of customers and of course a couple of dead rats here and there too.
Thats just completely FOUL and nasty. The fact it was sitting there so long dead and bloated surrounded by its own excrement among all the unorganized food is just nasty as fuck. I cant even. You cant blame the company for that? I defintely would blame them! That place is so disorganized. If that place was actually organized this would have never been able to happen.
My fav of Dan: " That looks like smurfs' shit"...xD
😂😂😂😂 Thank you, I must have laughed for like, twenty minutes Just listening to you is hilarious
If you think they are throwing away all that stuff, think again. Go back and it will still be there. If the management was responsible there would not be a mouse in the first place.
"Sir, you got a big problem back there" and then "yeah we do". HOLY SHIT you can't write something that funny with all the talent in the world.
Yikess no food from there 😂😷 my god
Always great too see a new upload. Horrifying tho, are u okay dan😅?
Still can’t decide if the dead rat was more vile than the other stuff you showed tho
You literally took the words out of my mouth when speaking about, those "mushrooms" no more did I think it and you said it. LMAO Cheers
LOL laughing so hard, what a funny video. Always laugh when you lose it at something so rediculous which was a double feature in this video 😂
that’s the worst kept Burlington I’ve ever seen 😭 It was giving Ross, maybe even Gabe’s.
"Smurf shit" is a lot like saying, ATM machine. lol Example: "I'm in here taking a Smurf!" :D
