1:44 the candles that had original sticker also show the date, I believe the 377 is the month and year, so it was being sold back in March of 1977.thats how a lot of businesses kept track of how old inventory was.
I hardly ever comment on videos. But I loved this commentary style video in the thrift store, it was hilarious. You should consider doing this again sometime.
Hi Dan again. I just looked up the definition for occupy Japan. It means "Occupied Japan". Porcelain and pottery printed on Toys and other goods made during the American Occupation of Japan after World War 2. The dates are from 1947 to 1952. Collectors can now search for these pieces." The items were made for export. Those clown porcelains looked creepy. Ok it was nice watching you go thru the whole thrift store.
Occupied Japan. Occupied Japan was printed on pottery, porcelain, toys, and other goods made during the American occupation of Japan after World War II, from 1947 to 1952. Collectors now search for these pieces. The items were made for export.
Most expensive thrift store I've ever seen. 40 bucks for a small Christmas tree. Could find a new one cheaper than that lol. The painting was crazy too.
KEEP DOING THESE! All the malls are closed this is where their stuff went to die! Also you’re shopping where hoarders find their most valuable pieces. Watch the best of any season on RUclips and I swear they find and buy these things as tho they were made by the first humans…Incredible entertaining! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.
When you find the boy and girl figurines from the 70's and say that the girl is saying, "Don't buy that clown!" I about spit my drink out everywhere. You're killing me! Lmao 😂😂😂
That's the most EXPENSIVE Thrift Store evar! At mine [Long Island!] I buy like-new Ralph Lauren/J.Crew/Banana Republic button down shirts for $3 - $6 each (I have easily over 50 of them). Best find was Focal (JMLab Company) speakers for $35 (new $700), but that was an outlier. Electronics and button-down shirts (hate to get a stain on a new one) are my thing!
ashens might go "whoa stedy there i'm not drinking that lets see what it looks like first" pours into wine glass "ooh yeah that's off badly when you see bits of plastic or anything not drink in there its gone off"
I looked up The Coal House in West Virginia. Turns out its an entire house made out of 30 tons of coal and was built in 1959 in White Sulphur Springs, WV. You should visit it Dan!
What fun this is! I'm laughing all the way through it! Something for everyone -- a clown department, a frog department, a rancid cookie department! "Best Laugh of the Day" award, no contest (I just smashed the "Like" button).
ReviewsTechNow Wal-Mart more depressing......those poor people who have lost all hope, no choice after their community destroyed by that big box overlighted nightmare chain. And they aren't cheap.
Christina Cope you say “they aren’t cheap” but all the mundane shit in this video, like christmas trees, are overpriced as fuck at this specific thrift store and you can definitely buy a new one at WalMart for way cheaper.
We had the girl/boy doll set that was a “lovely” gift from my grandmother back in the late 1970s or early 1980s so we had to hang onto those things and keep them in the living room for a very long time. By long time I mean we had to look at their death stare eyes in my parents living room for over 30 freakin years. At least we weren’t in it alone as everybody in the family was blessed with a set for their homes! You could do some serious damage to someone with just a single doll if you wanted to so they really are heavy multipurpose dolls from hell.
I absolutely love you, Dan! Your work is amazing. Your commentary and style really adds something to the videos, that I don't see elsewhere. I could listen to you talk about anything. I hope this message finds you in a good place. Please never stop.
What's with the prices??? You can get new 6" trees over here for about $30. Newton's cradles are available in any £-store for a quid. And the loom bands go straight in the bin, because nobody EVER buys them. *lol*
I manage a big name thrift store and man, this is like watching what I do for 45 hours a week. However, at least 60 percent of that stuff would never make it to our floor because it would never sell and a lot of those prices are insane.
Dan, they are avacado color candles. That means early 1970s. EVERYTHING then was avacado and harvest gold. Also clued in by the style of the price sticker. :-) I remeber the era well.
damn that whole place is late for the dumpster. most thrift stores have useful stuff in them. maybe the clothes are but their ideas on prices seem to be a tad suspect. occupied japan is from after World War 2 when we were there helping them get back on their feet and they exported cheapo products to the USA and other countries through the late 40s / early 50s
Laughed the whole time with you, thank you for the vid (and also thrift stores are getting too crazy with prices, if they wanted to do consignment I could understand but usually they get their product for free..)
I relate to how you approached things, like, "Look at this -- it's hideous". One can laugh one's way through the store. Thanks for taking us along in your local thrift store! I had fun!
Loved how you picked on the snowman who was obviously wearing baseball gear and you stated that it was a basketball player. And also the "Japanese plate" that Chelsea created in 2001 was actually 2010. LOL And, unfortunate, I do have one of those hideous faux fabrege eggs and they do open.
Most items were authentically hand-made quality of one of a kind..!! Which mostly women own and is useful in decor arrangements for the home.???? Very Lovely🌹
This is hilarious. Please do more of these funny thrift stores. My sister likes thrift stores. We used to go to thrift stores and she would crack me up pointing things out and making me laugh so hard. I miss those days.
What's with the really random prices? like $14.14 seems like an odd and awkward number. In the UK, thrift stuff is usually rounded up to the pound or 50p. Is the odd pricing a statewide thing or just a gimmick this store has?
Omg every time you laugh I had to keep myself from laughing out loud and waking up my kids. This is effing hilarious, and my teen thinks I'm a lunatic because I'm giggling in the livingroom
We've got plenty of 'charity shops' over here in the UK that are simply now just profiteering off of peoples *donated* items. Legally, these shops are only obligated to give as little as, in some cases, about ten percent of the proceeds to their respective charities, so a lot of unscrupulous owners are. It's a sham.
This is the video where we start to see Dan losing his mind.
DannySG1 lmfaoo
😂
I love when Dan cracks himself up!
Rose Bowman me too😂
Lol 😂
Bring us home....bring us home...
This place looks like it's full of someone's Jewish grandma's stuff.
1:44 the candles that had original sticker also show the date, I believe the 377 is the month and year, so it was being sold back in March of 1977.thats how a lot of businesses kept track of how old inventory was.
Wow 77, that's a long time ago.
$129? Why is this tree at a thrift store? These are not trift store prices. Thrift store is supposed to be cheap prices.
I bought a nice tree at the dollar store for only $20!
jenny h Nice
jenny h can even find one with lights already ob it at Walmart for 60 bucks
Jason's Journeys nope not always
Can't forget the $700 crappy painting 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Oh this is hideous... look at this thing."
Had me in stitches
This was great. Totally do more of these. Your commentary is on point.
Eric Dawson I agree. I love these too
I hardly ever comment on videos. But I loved this commentary style video in the thrift store, it was hilarious. You should consider doing this again sometime.
"PS" i think whoever priced those items, has been drinking from that whiskey bottle also!! LM AO"!! ;-)
that rabbi painting lol, no one is going to pay $700 up in a thrift store
RedruM that SHOULD be the case, but it’s not a misprint. it actually says 699.99 lmao god what are these people thinking? 🤦🏻♀️
Hi Dan again. I just looked up the definition for occupy Japan. It means "Occupied Japan". Actually these pieces are worth a lot of money if they are authentic. I checked Ebay and I was very surprised how much they are priced at.
People collect Occupied Japan. Pieces were only made during several years. I have several pieces. Chalkware is also collectable. What store is this?
Occupied Japan. Occupied Japan was printed on pottery, porcelain, toys, and other goods made during the American occupation of Japan after World War II, from 1947 to 1952. Collectors now search for these pieces. The items were made for export.
Plus it looked like a whole set. Would be worth something.
OMG I am dying laughing, you crack me up! “Hope that picture of turds (one with an eye) isn’t scratch n sniff!” ROFL
'Zactly! lmao!
go ahead sniff it
i absolutely love this! it's like going thrift shopping with a friend without leaving the house lol
Rhiannon Rose thanks! same here
Most expensive thrift store I've ever seen. 40 bucks for a small Christmas tree. Could find a new one cheaper than that lol. The painting was crazy too.
The turd with the eye ,sickness
I've always said "put a price tag on a turd and someone will buy it."😎✌
LOL!
I actually enjoyed this. You should do more videos like this.
Dang it I missed it.
Cool place, I had to laugh out loud at the painting of the Rabbi.$699.00?! more like $6.99
...and "the turd has an eye! "
"I hope it's not scratch and sniff."
Hilarious. Rewatching this for fun.
I agree , It's a thrift store not a fancy Antique store.
7:02 made in occupied Japan figurines dates are 1947 to 1952, they sold these types of items for over seas markets after the WW2.
Buy the Occupied Japan figurines. They go pretty high on EBay.
I agree, he should get the clown band immediately. And the boxed ones too.
There was also some glassware for the 1984 LA Olympics and a halfway decent piece of pottery I would have snatched up!
Some of the nicer pieces go for a pretty good price. But these clowns are hideous and probably won't sell very fast.
I checked comps on those clowns they’re worth about a dollar each.
Can you please do this more often. This “cracks me up”.
KEEP DOING THESE! All the malls are closed this is where their stuff went to die! Also you’re shopping where hoarders find their most valuable pieces. Watch the best of any season on RUclips and I swear they find and buy these things as tho they were made by the first humans…Incredible entertaining! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.
Probably my favorite thing about the video is the way Dan cracks himself up.
Cute when he helped the girl. :)
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. The girl was actually polite and nice to him.
26:00 if anyone is curious to see Dan Bell be super polite :)
jsciarri why would she be mean to him?
And her mom is like "Get off this!!"
When you find the boy and girl figurines from the 70's and say that the girl is saying, "Don't buy that clown!" I about spit my drink out everywhere. You're killing me! Lmao 😂😂😂

Dan, so sassy at the thrift store . Love the commentary 😀
Love your laugh lol had me cracking up LMAO when you were talking about those clowns
mikeyz mama OMG, he drank the whiskey!
Your commentary is exactly what I think when I go to goodwill. I died laughing when I saw that damn Humpty Dumpty bear 😂
What an entertaining (and oddly-soothing) video. Thanks, Dan :)
This was a blast!
I cracked up at the microwave-hot-cocoa-in-a-porcelain-vase suggestion 😂
I love these videos, you should do a few more for us. Lol
These will forever be my absolute fav vids Dan. They just do it for me
Totally
surprised u drank that Jim Beam. Rick would approve I'm sure 😀
Did you really drink it? I wasn't sure...Dan, you are one brave soul.
4exgold I am surprised you think he drank it. Didn't see him drink it, did we? I think he was just being funny.
I really think he was just being funny. I don't think he actually drank any.
ashens might go "whoa stedy there i'm not drinking that lets see what it looks like first" pours into wine glass "ooh yeah that's off badly when you see bits of plastic or anything not drink in there its gone off"
Another Dirty Thrift Store! Love it! Insane the amount of random stuff you can find.
Please make more of these videos!! It's so much fun to go thrift store shopping with Dan Bell :D
You are absolutely so much fun !! Love your laugh too. Thank you so much for doing this vid. I like thrift stores n flea markets lol
Dan..that was funny!.can we go again soon? You should have bought the creepy clowns from Occupied China...
Trina Golas you are right, china from 'occupied Japan' is usually pricey, even ugly clown's 😂
I looked up The Coal House in West Virginia. Turns out its an entire house made out of 30 tons of coal and was built in 1959 in White Sulphur Springs, WV. You should visit it Dan!
Omg by 13:00 I’m seriously crying laughing. Every time you make that sound of disgust 🤣😂
this is my favourite Dan Bell video.
What fun this is! I'm laughing all the way through it! Something for everyone -- a clown department, a frog department, a rancid cookie department! "Best Laugh of the Day" award, no contest (I just smashed the "Like" button).
omg i want to go thrifting with dan
That would be a damn good time that's for sure, lol.
Lmao When Dan started to sing/hum to the clowns.
aww I would go shopping with you anytime Dan and you er so sweet and funny , you should do more thrift shop tours :)
My ferrets came running over to me when they herd the squeaky toy lol!
That store was the most depressing store in the country, besides Walmart of course
ReviewsTechNow how is Wal-Mart depressing?
NeickhaSuPRA have you been in one lately
ReviewsTechNow Wal-Mart more depressing......those poor people who have lost all hope, no choice after their community destroyed by that big box overlighted nightmare chain. And they aren't cheap.

OMF!! That Humpty Dumpty Bear!! I'm dying😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Worst thrift store ever. And really overpriced. Looks like the leftovers from a K-Mart home decor department circa 1982.
Thanks Dan I needed the laugh, you're awesome
That was freaking hilarious! Thank you for the laughs Dan. I needed that right now. Thought maybe you would have gotten the duck 🦆 flask for Rick. Lol

I absolutely love you, Dan! Your work is amazing. Your commentary and style really adds something to the videos, that I don't see elsewhere. I could listen to you talk about anything. I hope this message finds you in a good place. Please never stop.
You can make a interesting video out of anything
Frank Reynolds NH îupuu
"bring us home" lmao i couldnt stop laughing.

I think that painting is an officially commissioned painting of the band Turd Eye Blind. For $14.14 it is a steal!
LOLLLLLLLLLLLL.. I think you really wanted those clowns, lmfao!
I relate to how you approached things, like, "Look at this -- it's hideous". One can laugh one's way through the store. Thanks for taking us along in your local thrift store! I had fun!
The bear looks like Humpty Dumpty is eating him alive. Great job with the video, Dan. It turned out awesome!!!!!
GREAT
JOB
DAN

THIS VIDEO TURNED OUT
A W E S O M E
Funniest commentary ever. Thank you for making me laugh tonight
Why do the price tags have repeating digits? Like $29.29 or $14.14?
Jose Barrios
So people can’t change the price
To get every single penny they can put of each item lol..thats just my guess..
This was awesome, I didn’t want it to end!
I love your laugh! Totally subscribing..... you've won me over.... the clowns .... "take us home"! 😂😂
"The turd has an eye" omg I'm dead. Superb commentary Dan. This entire video is comedy gold.
Most items were authentically hand-made quality of one of a kind..!! Which mostly women own and is useful in decor arrangements for the home.???? Very Lovely🌹
This video is hilarious. I felt like I was right there with you laughing at all the bizarre knickknacks and turd paintings. 😂
I’d play that Sopranos Trivia right now
Next time, antique store
I am crying laughing this made my day
I could watch this all day long - all you need with you is RICK and you are all set - Awesome & Funny

This is hilarious. Please do more of these funny thrift stores. My sister likes thrift stores. We used to go to thrift stores and she would crack me up pointing things out and making me laugh so hard. I miss those days.
Great timing Dan, Im doing my eyeliner listening to this and busted out laughing at the poop painting. Eyeliner is everywhere. Thanks☺ LOL!
Dan laughing at the glass clowns made my day .😂
I would of been running & screaming to get away from those clowns. Instead I laughed my butt off due to your comments.
What's with the really random prices? like $14.14 seems like an odd and awkward number. In the UK, thrift stuff is usually rounded up to the pound or 50p. Is the odd pricing a statewide thing or just a gimmick this store has?
dO MORE OF THESE dAN bELL!!
Omg every time you laugh I had to keep myself from laughing out loud and waking up my kids. This is effing hilarious, and my teen thinks I'm a lunatic because I'm giggling in the livingroom
I laughed so hard at this. Especially the delicate vase that was dishwasher and microwave safe. OMG
Lol a snowman dressed in a baseball uniform that likes to play basketball🤣
You would be so much to shop with! I love your laugh
Look at this snow man he's playing *BASKETBALL*

Ben M ii
There was an episode of a crime drama on that subject.
That humpty dumpty bear killed me
GREAT JOB DAN! THIS TURNED OUT AWESOME! 😅
How do you think that "Great Job Mom" ended up in a thrift store? Maybe a mom with no fireplace?
LMAOOOOOOOO
The jim beam duck reminds me of John water’s appearance on the Simpsons! Liquor lads lol
Died at the clowns and the noises you made. Hilarious! Loved this video.
holy shit this is the most expensive thrift store i’ve ever seen lmao
