It’s Normal for me to be nervous the first time I install anything on my car but I’m sure it’ll be fine, but I really appreciate your channel you’ve helped me through a lot already and I’m sure there’s more to come. After the AOS will be the cyl 4 cooling mod and your video will guide me through that as well so thanks so much🤙💯

      So update: I followed this video along with the PDF instructions that IAG has online. This is important as there’s was a revision in the design of the coolant lines so if you buy the V3 street series the coolant lines are both at the bottom of the AOS now. The hardest part of the install was honestly the damn TMIC. It was hard to get the couplers for the turbo and throttle body on at the same time. Especially because the hose that goes to the vacuum at the bottom of the throttle body goes right under the turbo outlet which kinda blocks the coupler from sliding on. Sometimes the most simple things can be the most frustrating. Like spending hours trying to get a stripped bolt out. The TMIC reminded me of that. Just be patient.

    Hey Man thanks for the video. I have a question regarding the routing of the driver side and passenger side vent hoses. On the Iag instructions they show the driver side vent hose going to the the top port on the Aos, you and a few others with installation videos on here have the driver side vent hose going to the middle port and the passenger side going to the top port. I’m really confused and don’t want to mess something up. Just wondering if it even matters which way you choose to route the vent hoses into the Aos?. Thanks in advance

    Was watching your other video about the killer B header tank and seen that it was routing to the AOS and couldn't figure it out, so found this and wow that seems like a massively over-complicated piece of equipment for what it does, still struggling with why you need water running by it to keep it warm? if any water (condensation) freezes it'll be in the lines from the heads and crank breather so this won't help with the breathing, then once car is up to temp to have warm water flowing through to defrost the huge AOS the warm air will be not far behind flowing through the lines anyway. Not to mention that it's in a warm engine bay once engine is on, made out of alloy which will absorb the ambient heat.
    Am I missing something?
    Great Videos BTW, very informative, just seems like a very complicated (and likely expensive) bit of equipment.

    • @Smeedia
      @Smeedia  4 года назад +1

      Totally agree and the theory behind it is to keep the AOS the same temp as the engine so while it's running you don't have hot oil going into a catch can or AOS that is ambient temp which would start to creature moisture in the return line as it passes through. IAG has a good explanation on their website but for the most part that is what I infered from it, and thank you! 🔥

    My question is I just installed an AIG AOS street series v3 on my 2019 WRX a few days ago. Two days of (non aggressive) driving was fine. Yesterday though I started to get into some real boost and now I'm hearing like a soft whistling noise, (more like the sound of a turbo spooling) but it sounds like its coming from the AOS or PCV valve while I'm in boost? Is this just the noise of the AOS spinning.

    So I recently installed a used Perrin AOS on my 07 WRX. About 2 days later I was driving it a little harder than usual and when I got home I could smell what seemed like burning oil and there was noticeable smoke coming from under the hood. I popped the hood and it was spraying oil from out of my dip stick tube. After some research I thought maybe my PCV went bad so I uninstalled the AOS checked all the lines and replaced the PCV. I haven't had any issues with oil coming out the dipstick but now it seems to blow whitish/grey smoke from the exhaust only when in boost after I let off the accelerator. Have you heard of anything like this before? The car was running super well before I installed the AOS.

    In between 1:30 and 2:10 minutes you said to disconnect those things… I have nothing to disconnect on my 15 sti

      You do have them, they're the breather ports kntop of the heads should be two. You'll need to undo the forward most one (the smaller line)

    Nice...you can do head gaskets in the same amount of time it takes to install an IAG AOS lol

      @@Smeedia push 700whp. I remember ordering everything out of the IAG catalog for my previous build including their stage 4 closed deck block and their cnc'd heads. Everything broke. I love my Evo now though lol. Takes an hour to install a catch can in an engine that isn't cut in half

      What evi do you have? I almost ended up with a Evo 9 MR a few years back, completely different car and responds so much different then the STI does!

      @@Smeedia I have a 900hp Evo 8 GSR. Its def a better car to build for power but the VA chasis STi is a much better driving and handling car. I just got a 2020 sti and am trying to decide on an AOS. Its a super fun car stock so all I plan on are an AOS, fmic, and csf radiator.

      Evo sounds like a gnarly car!!!! And that's a fair statement, and the OEM TMIC can burn in hell, i hate that thing with a passion
