    What is your fish of choice? You certainly have a variety!

      Most of the time I like pollack but it needs to be left in the fridge overnight with a little salt on to bring out the flavour also brill is very good. Rebecca likes smoked mackerel but to be honest we like most fish we catch so preferences do change.

    • @Trojwaterman

      Nope but it did cross my mind just as an experiment. I just need some Jugs

    Do you ever use those little flags on your bobbers?

    • @Trojwaterman
      @Trojwaterman  20 дней назад

      Not Flags here they were always used to signify nets or longlines.

    How many years did you take to get your boat and gear up to the level it's at now? Is there any training course to learn potting or do you need a mentor?

    • @Trojwaterman
      @Trojwaterman  20 дней назад +1

      I was being taken out in boats from the age of 2. So have grown up with it. I have worked and helped out on large offshore commercial fishing boats in the past and taken required courses for a licenced boat. I have always been on, in or under the water. I bought my first 14ft boat and restored it at about the age of 19. I also spent 7 years in Sweden and had a boat there.

    Some pretty nice looking lobster, was gonna ask do you guys do the v notch for breeding females? Hope you have a fantastic day.

    • @Trojwaterman
      @Trojwaterman  20 дней назад +1

      We don't have V notch here. We just have a size limit. Lobster is the one species that has done well here and has increased every year. Its the crab species that seem to be struggling but lobster hunt crab so that's probably part of the reason. I think its all about to change over the next few years though as the seas have warmed the octopus are back and growing in numbers. They can eat a lot of lobster & crab.
