Brilliant, catch guys
Lovely to see. Lovely creatures nice to see they are slowly coming back. Great catch you two.
Yes its been some years since we have seen numbers. Problem is they travel in groups in the open and are very susceptible to getting caught in nets.
Hi Troj, my favourite Sunday watch👍
We aim to please 😁😁
Good morning Troj and Rebecca. Looks like you had a nice smooth day on the water and a great catch. Tyfor a great vidio s usual. Mike
Whats interesting is when its smooth like that is when I usually catch a crayfish probably why I don't see many 😂
Fabulous catch Troy & Rebecca. I know you have said in the past that Crayfish are pretty scarce now, so to get 2 sized ones in the same pot is really good. They look broader across the back than a Lobster so guessing there's quite a bit of meat in them. Good catch of other shellfish too.
Stay safe and well. 🎣🎣👍👍
Yes a lot of meat in the tail They don't have claws as such so not so much in them
Nice spider craps and a bonus of crayfish as well you two will be eating well tonight full tummies 😅😅 well done Trojs and Rebecca
Great catch
I did nt realize you have these crayfish in those waters!
We used to have many more a long time ago but with modern fishing and diving they almost disappeared. They brought in laws no diving and no netting for them, pots only and they are very slowly making a comeback.
i have named your hood ornament on your boat Marcellus Gull lol
bravo a vous superbe peche :::::::!👍👍👍👍
Wow that's a giant lobster 🦞...dear god.......wow again...great show guys. From meteorite mac channel Derbyshire 👍
Getting better u two❤
well we call the crayfish in California spiny Lobster and they're good especially when you get them at that size. I prefer a 3 lb or 4 lb Lobster any day with one and a half or two pounder and it's not mature enough the meat tastes better on a little bit older Lobster I think and I'm the type of person that likes to eat the entire Lobster from head to tail same thing with crabs I like you know the whole experience and those were beautiful crabs
Would like to see how you cook the crayfish
Great catch, Troj
had a request for a vid how to set up that lobster tank maybe when you cant go out on boat you could do a vid about that and how to set it up please
I will probably do an up-to-date one when I get a bit of time its bit awkward at the moment. I do have this older video on it which may be of use ruclips.net/video/PoJ-7GZoq5k/видео.html
Doesn't matter what colour your pots are, they're colourblind
A feast fìt for a king enjoy ttfn
What a catch!
I would love to do this. I’ve just got my lobster permit and a pot, I just put it out in the rock pools at low tide, I’ve had a couple of decent lobsters. I didn’t even know you could get crayfish like that in the sea
Its surprising what you can catch in a pot from the shore These crays are out there but they live in deeper water most of the time.
@@Trojwaterman I would love to get a little boat and do what you do
Great video guys and nice catch
What bait did u use to catch the 3 crayfish, unreal fishing that, even if u never catch another crayfish, to see 3 in one pot, that u built yourself, must be very satisfying
Not sure this day but we usually use the head an frames from mackerel bass and pollack.
Very good video! Do you ever give little snacks to the seagulls that congregate on & around your boat?
Occasionally but they also get some extra food when gutting the fish.
@@Trojwaterman ~ I noticed the hopeful look on that seagulls face. Thanks for responding.
Wow nice catch!
Does eating an extremely large lobster effect it's flavour and texture I love lobster as and when I can afford 1 but sadly I will never be able to afford a big one to try
Depends on what you define as big but I always prefer a larger lobster with an older shell as the meats not so washed out from changing shells so often. People I know who eat 3b to 5lb lobster say they are far tastier. I think when lobster get to around double figures which is rare these days then they are probably not so great. These small lobsters are only dictated by the market as they can get maximum profit for minimum size but they will try to convince you they taste better.
Those crayfish look enormous, are they good eating.
Yes but completely different taste to lobster or crab
Hyggelig Nice 👍🏿
Do you prepare the crayfish for the table the same way you prepare lobster ?
Yes you can boil or grill them some people shred the meat up and mix with sauce or mayonnaise
Well done mate nice
Pleased to see some this early
@@Trojwaterman I’m still yet to get one let alone 3 in one pot lol
What would you both prefer to eat , Crayfish, lobster, brown crab or spider?
We both would probably go with spider crab but i also like lobster from time to time.
Amazing variety and great gaul, are crayfish new to the channel Ilsands or always been there ?
Used to be thousands of them but they got dived for and netted till they were almost gone. Both practises were banned plus with the warming seas they seem to be making a recovery.
@7:33 sea bird get to see all the real live action before the edited video gets released on you tube. ✌💘❤
I would say you are on the best secret place for large lobsters.
💯
Often its being in the right place at the right time 😁
Need a bigger boat 😂
If the crays get any bigger then maybe 😂
Havent seen crayfish for a while. However, I left the island some time ago ... But were they not protected / catching restricted for some time?
They are only allowed to be taken from pots no diving or netting for them.
Great catch! How does the taste compare to ordinary lobster?
Tastes nothing like lobster or crab
Why don't you tie your rope to the bottom of your pots instead of the top it would be easier lifting the pots into the boat, thats the way we always had them, love your videos and keep safe.
I don't like the pot neck tipped down I have seen the odd lobster dart out the neck even with it tipped up plus the rope puts a more even strain on the top pipe and the base wood also having it tide to the base could wear the rope on the rocks and barnacle's if it drags.
Do spiders have any power in there claws ?
The big ones do but nothing like the brown crab
Troy , are crayfish worth more money than lobsters ? .
At the moment Yes but they are starting to show up more often now
At least climate change is working out for someone, I would start researching 'tropical species and how to catch them'!
I'm already on it, catching bream species, bonito, trigger fish 😄
