Sitting here on a cold winter's evening, (-3c the other night), here in Victoria Australia, watching this video makes me impatient for spring to arrive. A great day's fishing and a pleasure to watch.
It's strange how it's exactly opposite weather here in Florida as August is generally our hottest month...not too mention we just had Tropical storm/Hurricane Debby move off our coast. Luckily here on the east coast of Florida in Daytona Beach we only got a few inches of rain when the west coast of Florida got flooded in parts. So stay warm over there !!
Great video thanks Troy & Rebecca! Fabulous haul of good sized fish and a good mix of species. Despite the fog, it looked quite calm and warm out there. Where's Fish Cat and his mates when you need them to chase that Seagull off! Still lots going one here, and very little time for watching videos so even further behind. Stay safe & well both of you. 🎣🎣👍👍
Hi troy Rebecca the record weight for a black bream is 6lb 4 ounces but that was in Cornwall in 77 I bet that tasted nice 😂 the ones that you two caught were smashing and I haven't seen mackerel that big for a long time 😊enjoy ttfn
Penn Wrath reel with Dam spinning rod not what I normally use for bottom fishing which is a Shimano rod with Penn multiplier. I wanted lighter gear to get to the bottom easy knowing how fast the tide gets out there in the deeps.
I never said it was but here we have up to 11 meter tides so fierce currents. We face the Atlantic and the ocean drops from 60ft to 200ft pretty quick so when the swell comes it surges up. Finally the weather can turn bad here very quickly without warning. We are only in a 16ft boat and traveled around 4 miles to get there. So yes 2 miles is not very far from land but if things go bad it can feel like 50 miles :)
2 mile a long way ? i used to go 6 mile all the time in my 16 foot orkney longliner off the north east coast in the uk with only a compass because thats all you could buy at the time
2 miles from nearest land about 4 miles from the mooring. Far enough with the rip tides out there and the way the weather can change along with the Atlantic swell that can come in that side . Sure we could go further but once the tide starts to run you can loose a lot of tackle in 200ft of water. We probably only fished for an hour before the tide started to pick up again. I too used to only go out with a compass in a 14ft boat a long time ago. I still carry one but the GPS is a great addition now.
Great Days fishing look forward to watching your Sunday posts .
Really hit a home run today , nice catch
A great video and an epic session. Thanks for taking us along. Cheers and tight lines.

Love watching your vids! I was wondering how you sold your catch, unless you eat it all?
People ask for it and yeah we do eat a lot
2 miles is hardly a long way Troy, here in Western Australis ,we think nothing of going 30-35 miles

Do you have Ling or grouper around there.
No Grouper we used to catch Common ling but not common now
Anyone know what the fairly large brown worms are that are found in the flesh of larger Gurnard?
I have not seen any in Gurnard but often old wreck fish can have a lot of worms in the flesh particularly pollack, cod, ling and pout
I meant to ask before. Do you have many sharks in your area?
We have some but not lots

have you tried rubbing bees wax on the ropes an old fisherman told me that he never had weedy rope he said that was his secret
Not tried that before. Wonder if that would make the rope too slippery.
@@Trojwaterman not sure mate sounds like time for a scientific experiment lol
