- The V2 Acinonyx bass features 3 classic style single coil alnico 5 pickups utilizing Nordstrand's innovative push button pickup switching system. This system utilizes individual on/off switches for each pickup allowing any combination desired. The fourth switch is a series modifier which puts the middle pickup in series with either of the other pickups. Add in a .1mfd tone control (extra dark roll off) and the available tones are thus rooted firmly in the massive fat punch of the OG Acinonyx. But the three single coil platform explodes the tonal palette with rich detailed open and soaring vintage character.

I just got V2, love it too! Lots of tones to be had in both versions.
I think the V1 is more my style but this sounds great

I can hear it fine
I prefer the traditional tone knob on the V2. I wish the pickup selectors were more like Jaguar on/off switches, though. I feel like those buttons may not hold up over the decades, and they look like too much effort.
the tone selectors are 1176 compressor switches and are built to last.
Hate the way short scales feel in my hands, but I've got a handful of bassist friends that would love this.

Would be nice to hear a comparison between the V1 and V2. Using single coils instead of mini-humbuckers should make a pretty significant difference in tone.
IIRC the v1 was also single coils. And I know there's a comparison video out there. IMO the v1 is more my speed.

I'm not sure I like that head stock, but overall I love this bass. Sounds so good!
the headstock has been controversial since Carey first designed it. The tone made folks grow to love it. :-)

Hola! So these pickups voicing are intentionally Dark. The V1 is even darker! We will do some followup videos and shorts with some attention to the darker voiced pickups to attenuate and highlight the frequencies. The examples I used for playing was lighter touch by comparison and that’s my fault. I don’t slam strings and I like the darker tonality of this bass. I’ll make it right errybody! Nordstrand is very confusing with their branding. They make all these modern voiced pickups, but then their bass is this 70s eastern European looking thing

The body looks ok. But the headstock looks stupid. Don't like it at all.

I bought the V2. Very easy to play, but definitely not worth the money paid for it. I guess you pay for the name. Poor quality build. Sharp fret ends, one side of the nut not sanded flush with the neck. Just feels cheap. Just my opinion.
Oh man really? This one had some fret ends but in Nevada we see that kinda often with instruments sent to the channel. Sorry you had a bad experience my man
