Dunno, KITT might be licensed for official toys only and these crossovers, while being official for Transformers franchise might not be official for the Knight Rider property. I'm not expert on licensing, so no idea, why they decided to call him Agent Knight, instead of KITT, but it might be related to licensing issues.

I think the Datsun-inspired transformation is quite fitting, as the Datsun 280ZX (also known as the Nissan Fairlady Z) was also strongly considered to "play" K.I.T.T. during pre-production of the show. They ultimately went with the brand new (at the time) Pontiac Trans Am, but apparently it was a close call. I love this figure, the only tiny letdowns are that K.I.T.T.'s tan interior isn't mirrored in some way in the robotmode, and neither is his super iconic voicebox. I would have expected the voicebox to become the mouthplate or something like that.
I know it's a stretch, but I would love to see a whole series based on this, you could have this with an Optimus inspired Knight Industry's semi truck, then you could have KARR and Goliath for the Decepticons. It'll never happen, but it would be awesome to see.
I would love to see a crossover with the General Lee, because that also was an iconic car from the 80s. I love both K.I.T.T and the General, such cool cars.
I really hope Hasbro makes a K.A.R.R retool out of this figure with Optimus prime part and Peter Cullen voice phrases because Peter Cullen did voice act K.A.R.R in night rider

This is a must have for me. I love KITT. The Pontiac Firebird/Trans-Am is my favorite car. And I used to own a 1988 Firebird that looked like that. I wish I still had it. It's the only car I owned that I miss the hell out of.
I wasn't a fan of the "blue jeans" look at first, but it's growing on me. The way the toes flip out, it almost looks like they could be the seats in alt-mode.
My favorite thing is that it is quasi- MP scale, I can tell there will be an upgrade kit coming up. This is an excellent piece. Come on guys we still need the A-team van and Airwolf!

The reason it's so out of scale with anything else is the electronics. If they made it smaller, the electronics would have taken up more of the figure, that would have most likely resulted in a horrible design (think mid 2000's gimmick Transformers). If they would have left the electronics out, that would have left more room under the hood for transformation. And let's give some praise to the pop-up headlights. That's a feature I don't remember ever seeing before in Transformers. Of course, it goes with the car model, but how many times does the vehicle mode have articulation? It's fantastic.
The third generation Trans Am does scale to a 1982 Datsun 280 Z identically to how these toys are. This crossover figure is scaled proportionally to the masterpiece figures, And I’m OK with that.
I actually like the colour scheme, the blue on the black. The blue represents the blue jeans which Michael Knight tended to wear, with the black everywhere else being the black leather jacket and boots.
I know the scale is out but this is definitely the best cross over but just in both modes it’s virtually flawless. Excellent in car mode and although they had nothing to base the robot on it’s a great looking robot and suits the vibe.
Imagine if they did the rebooted Knight Rider KITT attack mode, which was voiced by Val Kilmer and was based on a Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 KR (king of the road). That short lived series also featured KARR voiced by Peter Cullen. Look it up, I know it exists

The legs/waist are supposed to be "Blue Jeans" which Michael always wore and the visor is meant to be an homage to the giant 80's sunglasses.

I have never seen Knight Rider, but this looks awesome.
I think the robot mode is a homage to Michael Knight with that iconic shades and the blue to represent the denims that he dons in each episode.
What I love most about this figure is his car mode
The batteries not being included is a good thing for MIB collectors as typically, batteries leak and stain/damage the toy they’re inserted into.
That front bumper which houses the battery compartment is unsightly and really detracts from the vehicle mode.
