@@nectarmechanics The type I'd suggest if your planning on not having to worry about pins 'slotting' into each other properly is low profile spring-loaded pogo pin connectors or mill-max spring loaded interconnect headers. If you've ever seen the back of a garmin watch for it's charger/usb connector they use the first.. as do some laptops before they moved more to usbc etc when they were using magsafe style connectors.
There are a lot of tricks you'll learn with electronics as you dive more into it, hiding the wires 'inside' is something you should do not only for aesthetics but also durability, and don't be too afraid of running them through joints, unless your using really **** wire eg the cheapest stuff you can buy, a lot of it can support general movement and bending, just try not to get it pinched and if your really worried use silicon wire (its really flexable)
And don't worry about geeking out too little too much, some people will enjoy the deep dives some won't, you just have to do what you feel like you want to do.. It's your channel and videos in the end.

Your totally right, Blaster is normally the boombox, and Soundwave is styled like a Walkman. But in the cartoon he was portrayed more like a self contained player, ala a boombox.
When I went to design my version, I wanted him to play normal sized cassettes like in most modern versions depict him, but his 80s toy was based on micro cassettes so the proportions didn’t match up well.
