Now I finally found the time to watch it and I have to say that, despite the amazing job that you 3 from the steak and butter community are doing, to interview a doctor who was on the verge of death by metabolic disease and have him tell his story of recovery through eating meat and animal fat is the most effective way to have people open their eyes on this crucial matter. This is by far the best video I have seen. At times it almost brought tears, just the info I needed. I had started carnivore around the first of the year without really knowing what to do. I decided I wanted to be healthy & this seemed to be the only way. I did fairly good, strict, but a bit confused. I stopped carnivore at about 6 weeks & ate things I had not been eating…it only took about 5-6 days to see that was not good. I felt the symptoms I had not been experiencing. I decided to be totally committed to carnivore 3 weeks ago. Even though I still have a whole lot to learn I am sticking with carnivore. I don’t have any reservations about this, I just need to learn more to affect the changes I would like to see. I have always been very independent so it is hard to get into joining a group or community but I guess I could say I’m getting there & see the necessity. Also I do not have a healthcare provider that would support this. So…being on my own on this I’m getting it that I will need to join up. Just to add a bit, I’m 75, have Hashimoto’s, Mollaret’s Meningitis (recurring)as well as CKD stage 3, as well as I am a cancer survivor, NHL. I’m on no medications other than Armour Thyroid & HRT. ❤Thank you for this video, I learned so much.❤

    I'm 3 mo. into keto again, (not my 1st rodeo, I lost 105 lbs with keto 3 years ago.) This time around, I am eating more ketovore. I am eating some veg, but not near the amount I ingested before. Thing is, I'm feeling really good 👍 eating mostly carnivore this time. (??) Amazing, but true! I eat Himalayan pink salt with every meal, drink electrolytes when I need to and supplement with digestive enzymes, plenty of whole food based minerals, D3, multiple magnesiums, zinc etc. etc
    *One of the biggest changes is I'M NOT SO FOCUSED on FASTING!! Last time, I got incredibly WEAK pushing, pushing, pushing for extended fasts. 😅 I am so excited to show my Rheumatologist these results. I went from terribly inflamed Lupus to NO Lupus at all. All ANA and other blood markers are now gone!! Now, I'm hopeful my weight-loss will be closer to 45 lbs GONE! I have to make this lifestyle work out for me long term !

      Yes, maybe it's priming. You should also consider incorporating PSMF during your weekly diet. It stands for protein sparing modified fast and it means to eat leaner meats, like 95/5 beef, turkey, chicken, cod, etc (wild caught and grass fed of course) no more than 3 times a week. Best experts on this is Maria Emmerich's channel and Keto Naturopath Kitchen's channel. It works!

    Meat Fish and Eggs are so satiating that you just tend to want to eat less. Although you still have to run a calorie input deficit, as long as you have some body fat, you are going to swtich to burning fat to make up the difference. But if you keep stuffing carbs in your face then you are going to keep switching off the fat burn, and you will get your hunger back. The science is pretty well sorted on these issues. Finding this out truned me from a 254lb yo-yo dieter who thought all calories are the same, to a 200lb meat eater.practiing intermittment fasting. I stopped taking 5 out of seven daily drugs, and reversed my prediabetes and heart condition. Thanks Taubes, Lustig, Fung and Teicholz

I am much younger than Phil but I have some of the issues like, mild decades old caloric restricted or just not eating enough. I have had anemia, digestive issues, and I think I have some of his issues. While my pulse is not as low as his it's below the norm. I lift weights and always have, but for some strange reason my left leg has lost muscle mass, atrophied. Possibly my body consuming the muscle for IF is NOT what I should be doing until my body can trust me again. I almost died water only fasting 7 days once and lost 21lbs. 😔💔Thank God I did not, it is only because of Him and His power that I am still here at all. I had no medical intervention. Phil and a previous guest (sorry... forgot his name) My question... is beef the main meat or is chicken, fish, shrimp, pork ok as well. And i don't understand what cruciferous veggies do to mess things up, please, and thank you. My son and daughter in law want to start but not sure they can afford it. Suggestions? And if we're new starting... should we start with priming, or wait until the stall?

      My food budget is fine. Buy meat on sale, no waste or spoilage. Much cheaper than processed foods and fruits/vegetables that spoil quickly. I personally eat no fruits or vegetables. Occasional dairy (cheese) but have to limit. When you eat 1-2 lbs of meat a day, and it ranges from $2.99 - $6.99/lb. It is really economical. So the food cost is realities to your approach. As Dr. Berry teaches, eat the best meat you can afford. Mine is typically cheaper than deli cuts, and I even buy my steaks on sale.

I pour some MCT oil in my hot water (I love hot water) and some olive oil on my meat. My weight hasn't drastically changed, yet but I hope it will 12 months from now. Dr. Phil Smith is the exact reason why I tell peeps to go find a good Naturopath... more often... Naturopaths are way way more intune with a Proper Human Diet.. this is because their academic studies provide them with a much much better understanding of nutrition. MD's tradtionally spend very little time fully understanding it. Further MD's are vastly pushers of "drugs" rather than actually diagnose "the problem".. A prime example is the absolutely over mis diagnosis of TYPE II diabetes.. 90% OF THOSE PEEPS COULD FIX THEIR ISSUE WITH A PROPER HUMAN DIET.. rather than the poison big pharma drugs. Type III is most likely Dimentia/Alzheimer.. I'm 1000% in agreement with Dr. Anthony Chaffee on this!

    Meat alone is not enough for testosterone. I went from 334 to 960 in around 3 months with a varied balanced diet with no nutrient deficiencies. This book should be essential reading for all men

    Did he say he got this heart issue from being hit by a truck? What was the virus?

    • @gsts379
      @gsts379 4 месяца назад

      That was a bit confusing. I believe he was using "hit by a truck" figuratively to describe how badly the virus affected him.

      I am sorry. “Hit by a Truck!” Is an idiom in the American English that means an event the is “both unexpected and devastating “. It does not refer to being hit by a literal truck. Yes, it was an unexpected and devastating viral infection that attacked my heart.

    bart kay has the biggest discord carnivore community. it's really helped me not give up. I've made so many good friends in there. it doesn't cost to join either.

      Oooh, thanks for this tip about that community. The only problem I’ve had on my 1 yr carnivore journey is being alone in it.
