      🦩💕Happy Holidays Bella!💕🦩 This was a FANTASTIC video. This is what I needed to hear. Im still struggling with "how much fat" to eat and this was very clear.
      I have noticed that since adding cream into my mint tea in the morning that I am not as fatigued. Along with Dr Sean Omara's sprinting in the morning too. I know that everyone says watch out for heavy cream but, for some reason this is helping me vs eating butter.

      Hi Bella, I wanted to clarify something with you. The reason why I drink tea on carnvore diet is to prevent iron absorption from the meat because I have iron overload.
      This is a good subject to dig into and maybe talk about in a video as there is limited info on the subject. I also, follow Dr Mindy Pelz heavy metal detox video and use "binders" such as activated charcoal to eliminate the high iron in my body. I have to avoid sadly red meat and focus on chicken & pork (which have lower iron).
      I do eat red meat but, not everyday and some times not every week which I hate since I love steak & hamburgers. Iron overload is worse then iron deficiency because iron is a toxican to the body if you have too much. So this is why I drink tea. Tea has tannins that prevent iron absorption. I drink herbal teas with cream (cream for the fat to keep me full & to get my fat recommmend daily amount).
      The best test to find out if you have an iron deficiency or iron overload (like me) is a FERRITIN IRON test every young girl (teen), adult women, **pregnant women, men especially **elderly men should take this test. The standard iron test are junk and show only the iron in your blood vs the iron you store. NEVER supplement with iron until you get the Ferritin test results and consult a doctor for guidence so you dont end up with iron overload.
      Look up the symptoms of iron deficiency along with yt vids "iron deficiency stories" , "b12 deficiency stories" (which both are common for vegans) and "iron overload symptoms" plus dr berg has some vids & I think dr bery. There are over 100 symptoms for iron deficiency but typically you can only find 10 or so. With iron overload there is limited info on the net so this would make a great video for you maybe to do so that people with iron overload know they can still do carivore but, need to drink tea with their meals & take binders. But especial do a vid on low iron & iron deficiency. Many that get tested for iron deficiency with the junk test show in the "normal range' when infact they have low iron causing their exhaustion (which is the same symptom for iron overload). take care. @@SteakandButterGal

    My mom is visiting me for the holidays. She saw me eat straight butter. She told my 15 year old son she thought I was crazy. I just watched here eat Chick Fil-A and pour sugar on top of a fruit cup 🫣. I’m a 49 year old 9 month carnivore. Off hormone replacement (testosterone), off thyroid, off all my many allergy meds. Lost 30 pounds. Have energy and positive mentally. I’m very active. Lift weights, play tennis, walk. Take no meds. Have no medical problems. My mom has a long list of medical problems, 20+ meds a day, and her social life consists of going to doctors appointments. Her digestive system is broken with dumping syndrome (SIBO too) and she has to take digestive enzymes before and after every meal and has to stay close to a toilet. But I’m the crazy one!?!

    Just gonna drop this here note, cause well it's relevant to.
    In September 2017, I was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure, GFR of 5.
    Four years and one month later, October 2021, doctor tells me to stop dialysis for a month. In November it was confirmed. I had regained enough function to no longer need dialysis, and now on "hold" for transplant, and have been ever since.
    My diet consisted of grass fed local cows, rib eyes, New York strips. Bacon, bison, elk, salmon, alligator and even some quail in there. I did use some veggies and fruits, but mainly meat. So if there's any validity to the carnivore diet improving health, I'm it.

      My only son is suffering nearly a year now on so many drugs & steroids he was diagnosed with FSGS rare kidney disease...he is not able for anything medical & has buried his head in the sand...He was told by the consultant from day 1 that its not diet related & this was so wrong..He is addicted to carbs he has been overweight since a child unfortunately I didn't know any better I was a young single parent alone...
      He was addicted to coke 😢😢 I don't know how to get through to him...I wish there was a a carnivore channel of someone sharing their story on how they have reversed kidney disease...I am carnivore 7wks hoping I can heal my own inflammation & anxiety so I can be an example for all my family..

Developed grade b erosion in my stomach and esophagus. Always in pain could t eat shit. Finally had it and went back to eating meat. I ate steak for 3 months straight. I craved it. No stomach or esophagus issues. I eat steak, suet, eggs, occasional pork, chuck roast, butter beef ribs oh how I missed thee! I can feel my body healing, becoming strong and whole again. Kind of tearing up listening to her talk about the gross feeling of when you know your body is storing that fat from the carbs you ate and so on. I get that. Somehow, this gave me such peace about my concern of gaining weight with increasing my fat content. When adding in more fats, I never have that icky feeling in my body. I'm kind of blown away by this revelation and so my fear of weight gain is replaced by a curiousity of what will happen if I allow myself to embrace what "doesn't make me feel gross" while knowing I'm working to support my own body by doing so. Great talk!

    Massive respect for Rebecca---however at age 31 I'm not sure she understands the nuances of aging and requirements. She may have coached a lot of people over 60, but we SO need someone like her who is older and who truly has experience menopause / getting older themselves who has had to tweak for this process in all the scenarios / needs. I truly doubt at 65 she'll be saying YOU NEED TO EAT 2500 CALORIES. Im leaning out slowly but 1600 is satiating for me of protein and fat.

      Need to mention also… I’m a type 1 diabetic who gained a ton of weight during menopause. Fat and protein absolutely affect blood sugar… Just over a much longer period of time. I have to dose for it, and it’s excruciatingly difficult to figure out. But I think I have finally done it! It just takes a lot of focus and effort. I still need to lose about 35 pounds and I’m 62 years old. I am low carb. But complex carbs in vegetables I do need at times, but they require very different dosing of insulin. If I go low I must eat fruit to raise it. Exercise also requires different dosing. Endocrinologists do not know this stuff in my experience. But I’m on my way😊.

    This seems to have gotten complicated when other people(like dr. Berry) say you don’t need to measure anything, just eat until you’re satisfied. What size steak weight is the proper size for protein grams? How much butter in cups is the proper grams? Some people (like me) need an episode done from the carnivore gurus entitled Carnivore for Dummies, because that would be me 😢

    • @remmykins8574
      @remmykins8574 10 месяцев назад +6

      I'm the same way, I use a Fitbit and a food tracker. The Fitbit will tell me how many calories I should eat and then from there I just take the number of calories, divided by 13, and that's how many grams of protein and how many grams of fat I should have.
      As for what size steak is the proper size for protein grams, it really depends on the cut of steak. Some steaks have higher protein and some steaks have higher fat. If you use a food tracking app you can figure out how to go from there. Like before I cook a steak I'll weigh it And then use my tracking app to put it in how much it weighs and what kind it is and it will tell me how much fat and protein. As for butter, check the nutrition on the side of the box. Some butters have more fat than others, and just go from there.

I cook my ribeye in a big dallop of beef tallow, then when done, I take all that fat and pour it over my ribeye. I don't know what my fat ratio is, but I am full and feel great.

    Love that CIRS was discussed. I was diagnosed with it a year ago, and can totally relate to the "making it your identity" aspect. I really believe I was able to heal from it because I changed my mindset (still went through part of the protocol) I was still technically living in mold, so according to the shoemaker protocol, I shouldn't have been able to get better, but getting off CIRS support groups and calming down my limbic brain, and telling myself I would get better, allowed me to. Going meat based is my next step to fully heal my hormones and my brain.

    As an athlete I’ve found that tracking is 100% necessary if you want to maintain strength and endurance. I’m at 1.5g of fat to protein. I didn’t realize the first couple times I tried carnivore how much more I needed to eat to meet my caloric intake. I’d eat 1.5lbs of ground beef and be so full I couldn’t eat any more for the rest of the day. But I realized I’d be at 1500-1800cal a day. No wonder I felt terrible. I maintain about 2500-2700cals a day now and I haven’t seen any decrease in performance not to mention I feel phenomenal.

The hard part for me is eating enough - my digestion just can’t handle larger meals. I feel tired and very irritable if I try to eat more. Typical day for me is 2-3 eggs for breakfast, 1/4 lb hamburger patty with goat cheese and butter for lunch. Usually not hungry at dinner, but force myself to eat a beef jerky stick and at least a few pork rinds. I’m 5’5”and weigh 115. I can barely get in 60 to 80 g of protein per day which I know I should be getting more! Any recommendations how to eat more greatly appreciated!🥰

    Can totally identify with the horror of conventional re-feeding for anorexia. I was very ill when I was hospitalised, my BMI was under 13, and I'd reached the very bottom in all ways. I wanted to get better, I wanted to live, and I ate everything they gave me, but it's hard to explain just how awful it felt. I got terrible oedema, I could feel the fluid under my skin, especially on the nape of my neck - the skin was so taut, it felt like a giant blister, and I honestly wondered if my skin would crack open. My gut was distended, my ankles were so swollen, and I couldn't even lie comfortably in a bed, let alone sleep. All that from being fed "healthy and balanced" meals (mostly carbs.)
    Anorexia isn't something you ever shake off completely, but after a lot of relapses, I think carnivore is the most effective treatment because you are forced to confront that pathological fear of fat and deal with it once and for all. When I started, my body just wanted butter really, it had been so starved for so long. I'm still craving butter a year into carnivore, and I can panic a bit when I find I've eaten 4 sticks in a day, but you just gotta remind yourself that it's not like sugar, it's not a drug, it's a nutrient, and if your body wants it in preference to protein there's a very good reason why.

I poured the fat, after cooking, over it all and ate the LOT. Within half an hour my headache was gone, and I felt my blood glucose dropping, half an hour! When your blood glucose is high and then drops 5 points, after eating, it's miraculous. I relish the shitty feelings of lowering b.g, the wonky eyesight and needing readers because the pressure in my eyes is dropping, 10 days carnivore, not up to eating butter on its own, yet, but I LOVE the food and all the healing fatty fat fat... blood glucose going down AFTER eating is my NSV and I adore it

The lady speaking about protein says we need around 1 gram per ideal body weight and so far i usually can take in about 80 grams of protein a day and am completly full and feel fine, According to her I need another 50 grams of protein but if I am. Not hungry can I just keep eating what ever protein fills me up which is about 80 grams without issues down the road. I mean all I see is eat till you feel full, I do , but according to her that's not enough protein,

    CIRS IS A VERY IMPORTANT HEALTH ISSUE TO DISCUSS, THERE ARE SOME CIRS EXPERTS IN CARNIVORE COMMUNITY. YOU CAN'T CURE IT WITH DIET ALONE, NO MATTER HOW STRICT YOU ARE ON A CARNIVORE DIET! SO IF YOU HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING BUT STILL FEEL BAD YOU MIGHT HAVE CIRS. CIRS AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ON OUR HEALTH MUST BE DISCUSSED MORE IN THIS COMMUNITY!

    I’ve been following you stake butter girlie for about two weeks. I am now carnivore for nine days. I love it, if you can see this question do I need to take collagen or simple greens or super greens or super red powder anymore? I discontinued them on my Amazon account. If you see this other than that I love your channel. This is a great interview. I sent this to my daughter they’re going to start on January 1 her and her husband, I keep sending them your videos because they’re just really well done and simple and awesome and I’m a 65-year-old retired man with arthritis auto immune since the Covid shot and a few days in my symptoms have gone away of the rheumatoid arthritis so thank you

    This was one of the best carnivore videos I have seen. I am purchasing meat to try to do the carnivore challenge in January. One question is coffee out for life? For the past 10 days I have been eating almost all meat and drinking LMNT due to some night time cramps. Thank you kinda nervous because what we have been taught all these years. Again good video/podcast

    100 grams of fat = 900 calories
    200 grams of protein = 800 calories
    Total of 1700 calories
    Almost a 1:1 ratio of fat & protein calories.
    Easy to add more calories in this example.
    This is actually a low calorie diet.

    • @Panji2000
      @Panji2000 10 месяцев назад +17

      I think what she says about ratio is 2:1 fat to protein. 200 grams fat . 100 grams of protein. 🤔

    • @remmykins8574
      @remmykins8574 10 месяцев назад +6

      So you got it a little mixed up. So a one-to-one looks at the ratio of grams and not calories. So let's look at myself.
      My current healthy goal weight would be 180 lb so that's where I'm looking at right now.
      This means that I eat 180 g of protein. I am doing a one-to-one because I am looking to lose weight so that means 180 g of fat as well.
      180g protein = 720 calories
      180g fat = 1620
      This equals 2340. :)

    Hello Bella
    Thank you for the great work, keep going
    Sharing my opinion after 2 years on the Carnivora and ketogenic diet
    (2 years between dietary transition (removing complex carbohydrates (Natural) as I removed the industrialized ones on the first day of the dietary change)
    1. Changing foods requires time for the body to begin adapting to new food consumption in this case (Protein and Fat) the body requires time to change its source of energy burning, because when we are eating carbohydrates our body is always in despair total. This can happen on a carnivorous or ketogenic diet, but in an intelligent way.
    2. Every Body has a health problem to correct
    (No one is the same when it comes to health problems, even if they have the same disease)
    3. Gaining weight or losing weight can be an easier task for some people, this is due to their body, which may have a problem in a certain organ.
    (Which was not diagnosed by laboratory tests) due to several factors
    4. The beginning of the diet is very delicate, as we want to heal quickly, at least overnight,
    (We can start the improvement process when we change our diet on the first day, but we will not be cured overnight. It is not possible to cure years of a wrong diet in just a few days or even months or years, it depends on one body to another)
    Total transition I believe in around 5 years,
    For those who are only on the carnival diet along with the ketogenic diet, interspersing the two in the same period
    5. Observing your evolution is very important, be it in the physical or mental aspect (Mental Energy, Relaxation in your daily activities, patience, emotional control, concentration, among others.
    Your physical energy, Desire to do some exercises, among others) even if it is moderate, the simple fact of walking, I don't do running exercise, I don't think it's healthy. due to several factors, one of which is that research has shown that most athletes who run and play football or do all the exercises that use the heart more have more heart attacks, perhaps because of the carbohydrates, etc...
    6. The most important of all
    (Follow your Ancestral Food instinct, which was taken from humans)
    Which ?
    (When you want to eat more protein, eat, when you want to eat more fat, eat. When you don't want to eat, don't eat) Do you want to gain weight?
    Exercise with moderate weight
    I hope I contributed in some way

    Looking at this video makes me not want to quit and be more intentional on my protein to fat ratio

  • @ketoman4057
    @ketoman4057 9 месяцев назад +2

    Great video, thanks everyone🙂. I struggle with the ratios. Currently I am eating one fatty 250g steak per day (probably about 200g of red meat), a little butter (maybe 50g) and then frozen suet until full. I could never do 2:1 (fat:protein) because that would mean I have to eat 400g of fat per day! Even 1:1 would be hard for me. I like the confirmation that suet is better than butter to avoid diarrhea if you have this problem when eating a lot of butter. I am going to switch from scotch fillet (fatty steak) to fatty lamb as a way to get more "meat attached fat" in my meal. I think it is best to work out how much protein you need then eat fat whenever hungry - at least that's all I can manage in my personal situation at the moment, so I will let my hunger dictate how much fat I eat for now. A word of warning about eggs. I discovered that I am allergic to the albumin (egg white) in eggs when I started getting nasty cysts on my inner arm and belly. At the time though I was eating about 10 large eggs per day as I was trying to reduce my need for more butter at the time. I was since remined that we are all born allergic to albumin but grow out it as children. I still will have eggs but not often and not in large doses. I understand a lot of people are able to eat a stick of butter per day (110g) - my body won't let me do that much so its fatty meat and suet for me. Any tips appreciated...thanks again.

      Not to change your protocol but just to let you know that duck eggs don't have the same type of albumin and many allergic to chicken eggs can eat duck eggs.

    I’ve started carnivore close to 1 month. I’m eating 80/20 ratio at 1600cals, weight 132lbs. After watching this video and doing a calculation, I think I need to do 2:1 ratio as I have adrenal fatigue, it’s 2600cals 130g protein 260g fat. That’s so much and sounds so scary to do.

      Just work your way up slowly. You don’t have to go out tomorrow and start eating all that. Your body probably won’t let you anyway. It can take many months to titrate up, and incremental changes will be easier on your body. ❤

    I'm on lion eating most ground beef. I have trouble even getting to a 1:1 protein/fat ratio (grams) because all the ground beef in my supermarket has 19g protein and 16g of fat. I add tallow but there is not enough meat to sponge it all up. Any tips? Should I eat tallow raw as a supplement?

    I have never been a healthy eater. And I have struggled with weight my whole life. I am clinically obese. I had twins in 2001 and was severely anemic and had pneumonia when they were delivered by emergency cesarian. One twin was released at 6 weeks and went home with my sister. His brother was on a ventilator and wasn’t releases for four months. I stayed a Ronald McDonald house to be close to him. As a single mom it was so hard. When I finally got them both home they each had an apnea monitor and one had an oxygen cannula and pulse/ox monitor. Needless to say I got almost no sleep at all. I did not eat much but when I did eat it was junk. Just whatever was easy and within reach. Over the next 20 plus years it just got worse. Now they are 22 and I am just beginning to wake up. That is what it feels like. Finding carnivore has given me hope. I am hopeful that I can lose weight, get fit and get off of levothyroxine (for thyroid) and atenolol (for high blood pressure). Plus the myriad of anti depressants and anxiety meds I have been on over the years. I am still full time caregiver for one of my twins and really desperately need to be healthy and strong. Thank you so much for sharing.
