🦩💕Happy Holidays Bella!💕🦩 This was a FANTASTIC video. This is what I needed to hear. Im still struggling with "how much fat" to eat and this was very clear. I have noticed that since adding cream into my mint tea in the morning that I am not as fatigued. Along with Dr Sean Omara's sprinting in the morning too. I know that everyone says watch out for heavy cream but, for some reason this is helping me vs eating butter.
Hi Bella, I wanted to clarify something with you. The reason why I drink tea on carnvore diet is to prevent iron absorption from the meat because I have iron overload. This is a good subject to dig into and maybe talk about in a video as there is limited info on the subject. I also, follow Dr Mindy Pelz heavy metal detox video and use "binders" such as activated charcoal to eliminate the high iron in my body. I have to avoid sadly red meat and focus on chicken & pork (which have lower iron). I do eat red meat but, not everyday and some times not every week which I hate since I love steak & hamburgers. Iron overload is worse then iron deficiency because iron is a toxican to the body if you have too much. So this is why I drink tea. Tea has tannins that prevent iron absorption. I drink herbal teas with cream (cream for the fat to keep me full & to get my fat recommmend daily amount). The best test to find out if you have an iron deficiency or iron overload (like me) is a FERRITIN IRON test every young girl (teen), adult women, **pregnant women, men especially **elderly men should take this test. The standard iron test are junk and show only the iron in your blood vs the iron you store. NEVER supplement with iron until you get the Ferritin test results and consult a doctor for guidence so you dont end up with iron overload. Look up the symptoms of iron deficiency along with yt vids "iron deficiency stories" , "b12 deficiency stories" (which both are common for vegans) and "iron overload symptoms" plus dr berg has some vids & I think dr bery. There are over 100 symptoms for iron deficiency but typically you can only find 10 or so. With iron overload there is limited info on the net so this would make a great video for you maybe to do so that people with iron overload know they can still do carivore but, need to drink tea with their meals & take binders. But especial do a vid on low iron & iron deficiency. Many that get tested for iron deficiency with the junk test show in the "normal range' when infact they have low iron causing their exhaustion (which is the same symptom for iron overload). take care. @@SteakandButterGal
Great. I am in week 2 of carnivore-sh. Gently taking myself into it. Every few days crave carbs like bread or a beer. I am bouncing on the run way as I am taking off. Down 5 pounds so far. Going for belly fat loss and better health. Good timing.
My mom is visiting me for the holidays. She saw me eat straight butter. She told my 15 year old son she thought I was crazy. I just watched here eat Chick Fil-A and pour sugar on top of a fruit cup 🫣. I’m a 49 year old 9 month carnivore. Off hormone replacement (testosterone), off thyroid, off all my many allergy meds. Lost 30 pounds. Have energy and positive mentally. I’m very active. Lift weights, play tennis, walk. Take no meds. Have no medical problems. My mom has a long list of medical problems, 20+ meds a day, and her social life consists of going to doctors appointments. Her digestive system is broken with dumping syndrome (SIBO too) and she has to take digestive enzymes before and after every meal and has to stay close to a toilet. But I’m the crazy one!?!
I have started two weeks ago and would like to know when you ditched taking the thyroid medication. I just want to stop it but would like to know how you went about it.
So similar to your health issues I’m on my 2nd month in carnivore and yes same feeling positive , happy and relaxed all the time no meds at all and lots of energy. Congrats to you! 😊
I'm playing with experimenting, what are the three ideal ratio's? I'm starting with 30 days o 80F/20P. Can locate the other two. I'm glad to read that you're killing it. Hope your Mom hops on board, my Dad is hopeless.
This is great. We need to get some old carnivore ladies on too. Ones that are postmenopausal and have autoimmune disorders and thyroid issues. There needs to be a special conversation about this. Thank you
Yes can we address elders on carnivore! Slower metabolism, less stress being retired and yes post menopausal. I look at these young people tweeking this or that and feel i can't relate.
coffee with a half a stick of butter? I am all in! I can't eat that much meat? all I can handle is 1 beef patty with 2 eggs and I am full !!. so now I am eating butter and spoons of tallow! I have my gallbladder remove due to gallstones years ago so I cannot eat a lot in one sitting!
I am four and a half years carnivore. It has been a very interesting journey. I wouldn't change it. I am 56 1/2 years old. I had early menopause at 46. I have Hashimoto's disease which I've almost put in remission I'm not quite there yet but I'm close. I also lost my gallbladder in 2010. My body is still healing but getting better every day....... And I think it is time to start a carnivore discussion page for us older gals.....let me know.....
Just gonna drop this here note, cause well it's relevant to. In September 2017, I was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure, GFR of 5. Four years and one month later, October 2021, doctor tells me to stop dialysis for a month. In November it was confirmed. I had regained enough function to no longer need dialysis, and now on "hold" for transplant, and have been ever since. My diet consisted of grass fed local cows, rib eyes, New York strips. Bacon, bison, elk, salmon, alligator and even some quail in there. I did use some veggies and fruits, but mainly meat. So if there's any validity to the carnivore diet improving health, I'm it.
Thank you so much for sharing your story I'm so happy you have healed yourself & had a open mind .. My only son is suffering nearly a year now on so many drugs & steroids he was diagnosed with FSGS rare kidney disease...he is not able for anything medical & has buried his head in the sand...He was told by the consultant from day 1 that its not diet related & this was so wrong..He is addicted to carbs he has been overweight since a child unfortunately I didn't know any better I was a young single parent alone... He was addicted to coke 😢😢 I don't know how to get through to him...I wish there was a a carnivore channel of someone sharing their story on how they have reversed kidney disease...I am carnivore 7wks hoping I can heal my own inflammation & anxiety so I can be an example for all my family.. My old eating disorders still haunt me but I'm determined to push forward ❤
I used to eat mostly veg/fruits & my GRF just hit the stage 2 CKH marker. So, I upped the meat & recovered my GFR. But, went back to my old ways and down it went again! Doing Carno, back up again. Veggies have oxalates, I've been trying to tell ppl this since 2010.
I’ve had 5 homebirths, an hour away from a hospital. Midwives are way more capable than people think. I’ve had one stuck, one stalled labor, one with a descending heart rate, and my team was amazing. 💕 We are mammals. If every cow in the field can birth without a doctor present, so can we. 🤷♀️ Birth is primal. We don’t need to be TAUGHT how to birth, we just need people to get out of the way. Prayers for an amazing delivery. You can absolutely do this.
Hello! I have been watching your videos on RUclips for several months. I just turned 74yr. I have been doing carnivore for 58 days. I no longer have digestive problems. I have no plans to eat vegetables ever again.😊
If you continue, you will live for at least another 25 years, at least 25 years Meat is medicine, it likes exclusivity, because it can solve the rest of the problems we have due to several years of eating wrong, I wish you good health and peace Warrior
Finally hearing an underweight sick person saved by carnivore! I am myself underweight and haunted by all sorts of autoimmune diseases most of my life. I am currently on week3 of my carnivore journey. Having been having some improvements but not too significant yet, this sharing was so good that I learnt more about the fat I need, definitely go above 2 to 1 for me. Please have more variety of carnivore stories, I know obesity and diabetes are the biggest crowd and the most people will get benefit from. But this type of interviews from underweight people is also very important, we have many skinny to bone people needing help too❤
I’m so glad this video helped and if you want to hear another wonderful underweight success story, check out my recent video featuring Dr. Catherine ❤️
AGREED! 125lbs here (my highest weight ever) but don't need to lose, have great BP, no diabetes, great CBC, but I've been CFS & chronic pain for 20yrs. If a doctor gave me a terminal diagnosis I would think, "Well, that makes sense for how I feel!"
I soo agree. I’m on the lions diet since I’ve stressed and starved my body for years so I have a lot of healing to do and the mental stuff is a biggie.
I have noticed that if I consume enough fat in my daily diet, my stool is great, but if I don't, I struggle a little. Animal fat is great for the digestive system, I believe.
I found this out too! I was doubtful to go full fat carnivore for Hashimoto thyroiditis but went for it 2 weeks ago and the way l feel is unbelievable! I am not feeling the symptoms of my inactive thyroid. How is that actually possible 2 weeks in?
I’m starting my 2nd month of carnivore. I’ve lost almost 10 lbs my first month. Have lost 45 lbs on keto in 2017. Gained 35 lbs back. Since January 2024 till now I’ve lost 30 lbs. Really loving the carnivore way of life

💯 my health improved so much. As soon as I started to incorporate fat and meat I felt better. My meals are much more filling. I dont feel hungry and can fast a lot easier than if I was on an all vegan diet. I was very sick for a long time and changing my diet helped to regenerate my tissues in a short amount of time. I was able to get back to being athletic and not sick and easily injured. That has just been my experience. I wish I changed it sooner. I appreciate the people in this community, I learned a lot from everyone. ❤️
My husband and I are starting full carnivore Jan 9th. Been doing so much research the last month to prepare. We are slowly cutting back on sugar and carbs that way when we go full on carnivore it wont be as hard on our bodies. Thank you for making so many informative videos yo help us newbies.
23 years plant based. Started as a vegetarian, went raw for a few years, did only fruit for 9 months and then vegan for the last couple. I ended up with anemia. I had crashed that landed me in the ER, iron infusions that jacked me up. Could tolerate the injectafor it gave me phophotamia. Hematologist put me on strong iron pills. Developed grade b erosion in my stomach and esophagus. Always in pain could t eat shit. Finally had it and went back to eating meat. I ate steak for 3 months straight. I craved it. The whole time plant based never craved meat but nowadays it’s the opposite. Still eat veggies. Still had stomach issues. Went carnivore 2 months ago. Night and day. No pain. No stomach or esophagus issues. I eat steak, suet, eggs, occasional pork, chuck roast, butter beef ribs oh how I missed thee! I can feel my body healing, becoming strong and whole again. Hoping to get on my BHRT soon (estradiol and progesterone). But for now I persist and I am grateful ❤❤❤
What a beautiful testimony! Thank you for sharing it and I am so happy for you! I would love to hear how you feel now! I have been looking to hear more from people who were raw vegan, eating just organic fruits and vegetables or just organic fruits and how they felt then compared to now on the carnivore diet because I am still looking for answers. I am still very new to this carnivore diet discovery so I still have many questions 😅
@@serahtraore thank you Serah! I still feel great! It took me a bit to adjust the minerals in my body and get around constipation but now I am doing much better. Had to adjust my fats. I loved veggies n fruit so much but in the end I feel that I was dealing with high oxalates. There are times I feel like I’m dumping them but that’s okay. Better in than out.
I started Keto a few months ago. I then started to do OMAD Keto. I have since dropped everything and only eat beef and butter daily. I take a multi vitamin, drink LMNT electrolytes, and feel fantastic. Since just eating beef and butter my mind feels clear and sharp. I have started to clean the house, do projects....things I have not done in years. I sleep fully all night, and my back is feeling better. I have also lost 5 pounds in 5 days. OMG, I have found the way....!!! I MIGHT start to introduce eggs and bacon slowly, just to make sure that I dont have an aversion or negative reactions to either of them. Thank you for your videos, I think you are fantastic!! PS....I dont tell anyone what I am doing. I dont need negative input right now when I am starting to feel so good. In a year when I have lost 100 pounds and working out in the gym they will ask. I might tell them then...but not now :-) I AM JOINING THE STEAK AND BUTTER GANG now !!
Im 61,started keto 2 year's ago lost 25 kilos, my husband and i started full carnavore 3 months in now, I've had some adjustments with high fat because i had my gall bladder removed when i was 40, i wish i had all this information then because i would have never needed that operation. We are fitter stronger than all of our peers, I'm sad because my friends who most are younger are not fit enough to catch up with me on walks . This way of eating and living has become almost age reversing .
Kind of tearing up listening to her talk about the gross feeling of when you know your body is storing that fat from the carbs you ate and so on. I get that. Somehow, this gave me such peace about my concern of gaining weight with increasing my fat content. When adding in more fats, I never have that icky feeling in my body. I'm kind of blown away by this revelation and so my fear of weight gain is replaced by a curiousity of what will happen if I allow myself to embrace what "doesn't make me feel gross" while knowing I'm working to support my own body by doing so. Great talk!
HI, I appreciate all the audible and visible information. I am in 3 months as a Carnivore with many positive results like better sleep, More energy, No brain fog, no more rheumatoid arthritis flare ups and 15 lbs. weight lose (175 to 160). I am 5'6, 62 yrs. of age. However with all these positive result I am have challenges with figuring out the very topic, I am dyslexic. So its very confusing to me when it comes to numbers or mental processes that I can't understand. I am sharing because I feel that I am speaking for thousands and thousands of people with do their best with what is given but still have a portion. of the puzzle to get better results. I have been stuck on for a bit.
Massive respect for Rebecca---however at age 31 I'm not sure she understands the nuances of aging and requirements. She may have coached a lot of people over 60, but we SO need someone like her who is older and who truly has experience menopause / getting older themselves who has had to tweak for this process in all the scenarios / needs. I truly doubt at 65 she'll be saying YOU NEED TO EAT 2500 CALORIES. Im leaning out slowly but 1600 is satiating for me of protein and fat.
I’m 40 and have been carnivore for 5 years. There are bio-individual approaches but fat is so healing and enough protein. You can’t keep it low and without raising cortisol which stores body fat and steals building blocks of hormones
Need to mention also… I’m a type 1 diabetic who gained a ton of weight during menopause. Fat and protein absolutely affect blood sugar… Just over a much longer period of time. I have to dose for it, and it’s excruciatingly difficult to figure out. But I think I have finally done it! It just takes a lot of focus and effort. I still need to lose about 35 pounds and I’m 62 years old. I am low carb. But complex carbs in vegetables I do need at times, but they require very different dosing of insulin. If I go low I must eat fruit to raise it. Exercise also requires different dosing. Endocrinologists do not know this stuff in my experience. But I’m on my way😊.
Yes, I've just departed from the coach who 'calculated' I have to eat 2400 calories per day and 120g of protein. No. Weight gain and just can't eat that much protein. I'm well fat adapted but a LOT of us post-menopausal women don't sleep through the night, not diet related.
I'm in perimenopause, so getting there... I found a good video explaining in great detail, this subject. Its by 'Nutrition with Judy' and called 'how much to eat' or something like that. She has tons of experience working with menopausal carnivore or meat based women. Brilliant.
I did, for 30 years. Just saw a picture of me from 2011...I look emaciated! Enjoying the journey. You beautiful people are saving me. Thank you so much!
This seems to have gotten complicated when other people(like dr. Berry) say you don’t need to measure anything, just eat until you’re satisfied. What size steak weight is the proper size for protein grams? How much butter in cups is the proper grams? Some people (like me) need an episode done from the carnivore gurus entitled Carnivore for Dummies, because that would be me 😢
I'm the same way, I use a Fitbit and a food tracker. The Fitbit will tell me how many calories I should eat and then from there I just take the number of calories, divided by 13, and that's how many grams of protein and how many grams of fat I should have. As for what size steak is the proper size for protein grams, it really depends on the cut of steak. Some steaks have higher protein and some steaks have higher fat. If you use a food tracking app you can figure out how to go from there. Like before I cook a steak I'll weigh it And then use my tracking app to put it in how much it weighs and what kind it is and it will tell me how much fat and protein. As for butter, check the nutrition on the side of the box. Some butters have more fat than others, and just go from there.
I agree with you, all this blah blah blah about ratios and grams of this and grams of that drives me off the deep end. Dr Berry is so much easier to relate to. "Eat the right foods until you're stuffed" works for me.
I need Carnivor for dummies too. I like how they talk about it, as they are experts, but I am visual and I need concrete info., like what does 90 grams look like per portion. Not easy to implement if you are new.
10 weeks into carnivore today. Left the gym and went to check my blood pressure: 117/73. Ten weeks ago it would have been somewhere in the 150/105 range. I eat fat, I lose weight. Fat is filling. I cook my ribeye in a big dallop of beef tallow, then when done, I take all that fat and pour it over my ribeye. I don't know what my fat ratio is, but I am full and feel great.
I get it from anxiety, and thyroid issues. sometimes adrenals but honestly, never Histamine issues; and I have severe histamine issues. Buut, histamine issues can affect your thyroid, which it does to me, and thun I get the palpitations. aka. a while in to the histamine inflammation
This is amazing. I watch more and more and I keep learning something great. And this convinces me that our world is so ruined by the food and medical industries. You all do a great job! Thank you. I believe so much that after 11 years I can finally be healthy. And I will live normally. Carnivore is the best thing I've ever experienced.
Love that CIRS was discussed. I was diagnosed with it a year ago, and can totally relate to the "making it your identity" aspect. I really believe I was able to heal from it because I changed my mindset (still went through part of the protocol) I was still technically living in mold, so according to the shoemaker protocol, I shouldn't have been able to get better, but getting off CIRS support groups and calming down my limbic brain, and telling myself I would get better, allowed me to. Going meat based is my next step to fully heal my hormones and my brain.
As an athlete I’ve found that tracking is 100% necessary if you want to maintain strength and endurance. I’m at 1.5g of fat to protein. I didn’t realize the first couple times I tried carnivore how much more I needed to eat to meet my caloric intake. I’d eat 1.5lbs of ground beef and be so full I couldn’t eat any more for the rest of the day. But I realized I’d be at 1500-1800cal a day. No wonder I felt terrible. I maintain about 2500-2700cals a day now and I haven’t seen any decrease in performance not to mention I feel phenomenal.
Very interesting. My sister died at the age of 62, after battling anorexia since young adult. She always complained her stomach hurt. She was in many eating disorder clinics and hospitals, but they never helped. Your story makes so much sense to me as to why my sister never got well.
Heartbreaking to know your sister was unable to get well and died too young. My sister died at 55 from breast cancer. She was addicted to sugar. It was sad to watch her life shrink to doctor appts . The future can be better with knowledge
Great interview!!🥰 I’m 57 w/ hashimoto’s. Been on carnivore a year and experiencing lots of good benefits! Main health improvement I want now is more muscle mass and energy. The hard part for me is eating enough - my digestion just can’t handle larger meals. I feel tired and very irritable if I try to eat more. Typical day for me is 2-3 eggs for breakfast, 1/4 lb hamburger patty with goat cheese and butter for lunch. Usually not hungry at dinner, but force myself to eat a beef jerky stick and at least a few pork rinds. I’m 5’5”and weigh 115. I can barely get in 60 to 80 g of protein per day which I know I should be getting more! Any recommendations how to eat more greatly appreciated!🥰
Suggestion: Try skipping the cheese and butter and eat more fatty red meat instead. You'll get more nutrition and feel more energized and perhaps you'll be able to eat dinner. 🙏🏻
I remember when she entered the “ Meat Space “ she was not welcomed so much. She was eating disorder thin and that upset those trying to loose weight. Ironically, Kelly Hogan was eating disorder thin when she started Zero Carb. She is daughter age to me so she is adorable now. She is a mom so that is awesome. It is great she is doing well.
Just saw your review on Billy Doe Meats:) so cool. We get our lamb from Billy's too! I breastfeed for 12 months and one for 2.5 years. Extremely emotional intelligence is evident. Motherhood is so life giving.
Can totally identify with the horror of conventional re-feeding for anorexia. I was very ill when I was hospitalised, my BMI was under 13, and I'd reached the very bottom in all ways. I wanted to get better, I wanted to live, and I ate everything they gave me, but it's hard to explain just how awful it felt. I got terrible oedema, I could feel the fluid under my skin, especially on the nape of my neck - the skin was so taut, it felt like a giant blister, and I honestly wondered if my skin would crack open. My gut was distended, my ankles were so swollen, and I couldn't even lie comfortably in a bed, let alone sleep. All that from being fed "healthy and balanced" meals (mostly carbs.) Anorexia isn't something you ever shake off completely, but after a lot of relapses, I think carnivore is the most effective treatment because you are forced to confront that pathological fear of fat and deal with it once and for all. When I started, my body just wanted butter really, it had been so starved for so long. I'm still craving butter a year into carnivore, and I can panic a bit when I find I've eaten 4 sticks in a day, but you just gotta remind yourself that it's not like sugar, it's not a drug, it's a nutrient, and if your body wants it in preference to protein there's a very good reason why.
Today I ate 4 jumbo eggs, 3 short raschers of bacon(fatty with rind) in a big blob of tallow and a huge blob of butter, a lot of salt because I had a tiny headache. I poured the fat, after cooking, over it all and ate the LOT. Within half an hour my headache was gone, and I felt my blood glucose dropping, half an hour! When your blood glucose is high and then drops 5 points, after eating, it's miraculous. I relish the shitty feelings of lowering b.g, the wonky eyesight and needing readers because the pressure in my eyes is dropping, 10 days carnivore, not up to eating butter on its own, yet, but I LOVE the food and all the healing fatty fat fat... blood glucose going down AFTER eating is my NSV and I adore it
Been carnivore for 4 months now and never felt better. Of course, it's been extremely hard to give up all the foods I love, but I feel so much better I don't think about it anymore. I never thought I could last more than a month, but now I will be doing it until I meet the Lord.
I am dipping my toe in and just started this yesterday. I am committed and know I have a lot to learn. I have no clue what you are talking about 1:1, 1 1/2: 1, 1:2 . I am 73 and have decades worth of issues to heal including obesity, cfs, fibromyalgia, neuropathy, sleep issues, roseacea, no gallbladder, and on and on. This really feels more complex than I thought it would be. Because you are all young and thinking in terms of being ripped....well, those are not particularly my goals. I would just like to be able to walk 1 block or stand up without crushing fatigue.
I only know one or two people who can afford rib eyes even occasionally! I eat ground beef most of the time and if any cheap cut of steak is on sale (as in not much over $5/pound) I'll buy that as a treat.
One year carnivore. I’m feeling stronger than I have in my whole life (I’ll 61 in a few weeks) The scale is a liar and doesn’t tell the whole truth but I still struggle with this diet mindset-I so much needed to hear this once again! I’m tweaking my ratios currently by doing a 2 week tracking to see days I felt good and slept good and what were my ratios!
Hi Bella! Woke up hungry, so breaking my fast with a plate of liver and onions smothered in butter, only time I eat onions. Never a bad time for liver! I only eat it because I love it.
Wow...more radiant ladies kicking ass. So inspired by you gals. Really enjoying the journey at the SB Gang forum. The challenges are the way to go. I have already learned more than I thought possible in the short time. The more you do it the more you want to learn and do. Thank you Bella and Rebekah.
My area is thyroid so it was really helpful to hear to lower the fat to protein level a little. I went from high protein to very low with high fat and lasted a week before my body couldn’t take it. Bringing the protein back up an bit it not as much as before and toning down the fat a little bit again not as low as before feels so much better.
Try a midwife who “doesn’t cut the umbilical cord”, a masseuse that can massage the baby into the right direction. For my 2nd delivery I did 6 weeks of Accupuncture prior to having her, the night before I took a tablespoon of castor oil, I woke up with slight cramps and hour later she delivered in 5 minutes.
an older woman with 50% fat on their body would be scared to death to follow this protocol. i tried to "feast" on fat and protein and I got so big my hips started hurting. if you're morbidly obese, prolonged fasting is the absolute best way to go no matter what type of diet regimen you choose. Fasting is what got these amazing people thinner. They felt full from fat/protein and started eating less often.
You're right about the fear. I have a hard time getting my head around eating all that fat. When I've tried to up my fat, I feel like I'm getting fatter. Also, it's hard for me to eat big meals. I only eat twice a day, but still have a hard time putting down 2,400 calories--being a 5'6" male at 165lbs,
If I may, I suggest you save the rendered fat from when you cook bacon and use that to cook foods in, especially the eggs. SO good! It's all fat, it adds a little salt and the flavor enhancement is incredible.
I think Dr Chaffee’s suggestion is better. Eat enough fat so your stool is not hard and dry. Using myself as an example I cannot process lots of fat. I have been eating this way for many years now and have tried to raise the level of fat, same result every time bubble gut followed by “loose stool”.
Try having a small glass of water 20 min before you eat put 1tblsp of Apple cider vinegar in the water or juice. It will help you digest but greatly helps with the fat. Blessings ❤😊
Hi Rebecca having had 4 babies, each breastfeeds for different lengths of time. The last one stopped at 3.5 years ( only fed at bedtime and waking in the last year) but it was very natural and perfect. He was a calm happy child and a strong confident adult. ❤
I really like how she explains her reasoning for her recommendations and that she views food as mass in terms of fat to protein ratios and not "calories". After all, we can not consume heat energy and are not a closed thermodynamic system. The speakers in the nutrition space as a whole, really need to step away from using the word "calories" and start following the example of your speaker along with Professor Bart Kay. Keep up the good work, Bella!
I am new to carnoviore, After 18 days of being very strict ,the biggest issue for me is, I literally can't stand fat or butter ,I trim off all fat on steaks ,pork chops Chicken skin ect, I enjoy the diet and am fine eating meat ,But I only eat very lean meat, No butter ,I do eat bacon, at breakfast ,sausage and eggs and was checking macros and with just the bacon and other foods I eat ,my fat seems to be at least 60 percent or more of my diet. The lady speaking about protein says we need around 1 gram per ideal body weight and so far i usually can take in about 80 grams of protein a day and am completly full and feel fine, According to her I need another 50 grams of protein but if I am. Not hungry can I just keep eating what ever protein fills me up which is about 80 grams without issues down the road. I mean all I see is eat till you feel full, I do , but according to her that's not enough protein,
Thank you all for the info needed to know it. Just finished my first beef brisket. Havent ate hardly any red meat for 15 years😊 wow does it taste good😅❤ making my own butter too. Merry Christmas ya all !!! Love from 🇨🇦
Bella, do you have any specific videos that cater more towards gaining weight and muscle mass? I see a lot of content regarding losing weight and burning fat and rarely stumble upon videos for gaining weight and muscle. Thank you :)
Continue to eat carnivore and increase your calories while lifting weights so you’ll gain muscle vs gaining fat weight. Your size will increase by putting on muscle. Too much cardio will leave you looking soft and saggy “skinny fat” which you don’t want.
I experience nasal drip after every meal! I eat bacon and eggs cooked in butter. I eat beef bowls with cheese and sour cream. I eat shrimp, steak, and sardines. Will it eventually go away? Yes! I love eggs! I eat at least four eggs per day. I had my first baby in the hospital and I’m so glad I did. In my case my son had the cord wrapped around his neck and I just couldn’t push him out. But, once the Dr cut the cord he came right out. 🙌🏻 if I had been home we’d both have died. I had preeclampsia. Of course, I was eating the sad diet back then. So, I’m not sure if things would’ve been different had I been healthy. ❤️🙏

In order for me to get enough fat and protein. I need to eat 2.25 pounds of meat and 1 stick of butter. Per day. I’m 64 years old. No meds. In great shape.
Rebecca, thank you so much for being so generous with sharing all you have discovered! Any recommendations for hormone friendly make up/beauty products?
Before I went Keto, I weighed more, mostly between my navel and my knees. I always felt like it was something attached to me. Now, being Ketovore, and 40 lbs lower, I feel like it is all me, nothing else. The shame is gone. I am going to push fat because waking at night is a problem.
Wow Rebecca is amazing so knowledgeable so in tune with how our bodies work..she is so right I'm still afraid to indulge too much in fat..I absolutely love butter but won't go overboard even tough I want to.. I'm early days in carnivore 7wks ...trying to change my mindset after 55yrs is a struggle... I've lost the weight I needed to which was 14lbs but I need the healing aspect more.. CIRS IS A VERY IMPORTANT HEALTH ISSUE TO DISCUSS, THERE ARE SOME CIRS EXPERTS IN CARNIVORE COMMUNITY. YOU CAN'T CURE IT WITH DIET ALONE, NO MATTER HOW STRICT YOU ARE ON A CARNIVORE DIET! SO IF YOU HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING BUT STILL FEEL BAD YOU MIGHT HAVE CIRS. CIRS AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ON OUR HEALTH MUST BE DISCUSSED MORE IN THIS COMMUNITY!
You are doing exactly the right thing with your first birth. You never know how your body is going to deliver until you do. Big hugs and good luck with everything xxxx ❤🥰❤
I’ve been following you stake butter girlie for about two weeks. I am now carnivore for nine days. I love it, if you can see this question do I need to take collagen or simple greens or super greens or super red powder anymore? I discontinued them on my Amazon account. If you see this other than that I love your channel. This is a great interview. I sent this to my daughter they’re going to start on January 1 her and her husband, I keep sending them your videos because they’re just really well done and simple and awesome and I’m a 65-year-old retired man with arthritis auto immune since the Covid shot and a few days in my symptoms have gone away of the rheumatoid arthritis so thank you
This was one of the best carnivore videos I have seen. I am purchasing meat to try to do the carnivore challenge in January. One question is coffee out for life? For the past 10 days I have been eating almost all meat and drinking LMNT due to some night time cramps. Thank you kinda nervous because what we have been taught all these years. Again good video/podcast
100 grams of fat = 900 calories 200 grams of protein = 800 calories Total of 1700 calories Almost a 1:1 ratio of fat & protein calories. Easy to add more calories in this example. This is actually a low calorie diet.
So you got it a little mixed up. So a one-to-one looks at the ratio of grams and not calories. So let's look at myself. My current healthy goal weight would be 180 lb so that's where I'm looking at right now. This means that I eat 180 g of protein. I am doing a one-to-one because I am looking to lose weight so that means 180 g of fat as well. 180g protein = 720 calories 180g fat = 1620 This equals 2340. :)
Hello Bella Thank you for the great work, keep going Sharing my opinion after 2 years on the Carnivora and ketogenic diet (2 years between dietary transition (removing complex carbohydrates (Natural) as I removed the industrialized ones on the first day of the dietary change) 1. Changing foods requires time for the body to begin adapting to new food consumption in this case (Protein and Fat) the body requires time to change its source of energy burning, because when we are eating carbohydrates our body is always in despair total. This can happen on a carnivorous or ketogenic diet, but in an intelligent way. 2. Every Body has a health problem to correct (No one is the same when it comes to health problems, even if they have the same disease) 3. Gaining weight or losing weight can be an easier task for some people, this is due to their body, which may have a problem in a certain organ. (Which was not diagnosed by laboratory tests) due to several factors 4. The beginning of the diet is very delicate, as we want to heal quickly, at least overnight, (We can start the improvement process when we change our diet on the first day, but we will not be cured overnight. It is not possible to cure years of a wrong diet in just a few days or even months or years, it depends on one body to another) Total transition I believe in around 5 years, For those who are only on the carnival diet along with the ketogenic diet, interspersing the two in the same period 5. Observing your evolution is very important, be it in the physical or mental aspect (Mental Energy, Relaxation in your daily activities, patience, emotional control, concentration, among others. Your physical energy, Desire to do some exercises, among others) even if it is moderate, the simple fact of walking, I don't do running exercise, I don't think it's healthy. due to several factors, one of which is that research has shown that most athletes who run and play football or do all the exercises that use the heart more have more heart attacks, perhaps because of the carbohydrates, etc... 6. The most important of all (Follow your Ancestral Food instinct, which was taken from humans) Which ? (When you want to eat more protein, eat, when you want to eat more fat, eat. When you don't want to eat, don't eat) Do you want to gain weight? Exercise with moderate weight I hope I contributed in some way
Great video, thanks everyone🙂. I struggle with the ratios. Currently I am eating one fatty 250g steak per day (probably about 200g of red meat), a little butter (maybe 50g) and then frozen suet until full. I could never do 2:1 (fat:protein) because that would mean I have to eat 400g of fat per day! Even 1:1 would be hard for me. I like the confirmation that suet is better than butter to avoid diarrhea if you have this problem when eating a lot of butter. I am going to switch from scotch fillet (fatty steak) to fatty lamb as a way to get more "meat attached fat" in my meal. I think it is best to work out how much protein you need then eat fat whenever hungry - at least that's all I can manage in my personal situation at the moment, so I will let my hunger dictate how much fat I eat for now. A word of warning about eggs. I discovered that I am allergic to the albumin (egg white) in eggs when I started getting nasty cysts on my inner arm and belly. At the time though I was eating about 10 large eggs per day as I was trying to reduce my need for more butter at the time. I was since remined that we are all born allergic to albumin but grow out it as children. I still will have eggs but not often and not in large doses. I understand a lot of people are able to eat a stick of butter per day (110g) - my body won't let me do that much so its fatty meat and suet for me. Any tips appreciated...thanks again.
Not to change your protocol but just to let you know that duck eggs don't have the same type of albumin and many allergic to chicken eggs can eat duck eggs.
I’ve started carnivore close to 1 month. I’m eating 80/20 ratio at 1600cals, weight 132lbs. After watching this video and doing a calculation, I think I need to do 2:1 ratio as I have adrenal fatigue, it’s 2600cals 130g protein 260g fat. That’s so much and sounds so scary to do.
Just work your way up slowly. You don’t have to go out tomorrow and start eating all that. Your body probably won’t let you anyway. It can take many months to titrate up, and incremental changes will be easier on your body. ❤
I'm on lion eating most ground beef. I have trouble even getting to a 1:1 protein/fat ratio (grams) because all the ground beef in my supermarket has 19g protein and 16g of fat. I add tallow but there is not enough meat to sponge it all up. Any tips? Should I eat tallow raw as a supplement?
I have never been a healthy eater. And I have struggled with weight my whole life. I am clinically obese. I had twins in 2001 and was severely anemic and had pneumonia when they were delivered by emergency cesarian. One twin was released at 6 weeks and went home with my sister. His brother was on a ventilator and wasn’t releases for four months. I stayed a Ronald McDonald house to be close to him. As a single mom it was so hard. When I finally got them both home they each had an apnea monitor and one had an oxygen cannula and pulse/ox monitor. Needless to say I got almost no sleep at all. I did not eat much but when I did eat it was junk. Just whatever was easy and within reach. Over the next 20 plus years it just got worse. Now they are 22 and I am just beginning to wake up. That is what it feels like. Finding carnivore has given me hope. I am hopeful that I can lose weight, get fit and get off of levothyroxine (for thyroid) and atenolol (for high blood pressure). Plus the myriad of anti depressants and anxiety meds I have been on over the years. I am still full time caregiver for one of my twins and really desperately need to be healthy and strong. Thank you so much for sharing.
If all eating disorder treatments would put the patients on carnivore or just high fat keto, NOT ONE PERSON WOULD RELAPSE, NOT ONE PERSON. As i had been dealing with ED as a teen, {now full carnivore}, it breaks my heart for milions of people suffering and not getting the right information. Great talk. thank you

That is so sad your a perfect example for her but society has closed her mind to see & question more ...

Absolutely! I'm all of that and I struggle as HECK on carnivore..

Finally hearing an underweight sick person saved by carnivore! I am myself underweight and haunted by all sorts of autoimmune diseases most of my life. I am currently on week3 of my carnivore journey. Having been having some improvements but not too significant yet, this sharing was so good that I learnt more about the fat I need, definitely go above 2 to 1 for me.

💯 my health improved so much. As soon as I started to incorporate fat and meat I felt better. My meals are much more filling. I dont feel hungry and can fast a lot easier than if I was on an all vegan diet. I was very sick for a long time and changing my diet helped to regenerate my tissues in a short amount of time.

Im 61,started keto 2 year's ago lost 25 kilos, my husband and i started full carnavore 3 months in now, I've had some adjustments with high fat because i had my gall bladder removed when i was 40, i wish i had all this information then because i would have never needed that operation. This way of eating and living has become almost age reversing .
Wow you lost all that weight? That’s so good!

Great talk!
Exacto!!!
THANK YOU, REBEKAH for putting the measurements in GRAMS!!!!! That, I understand! Great video!❤
Saving this video because it has such ‘no nonsense’ valuable content. Thank you people.
Dr Elizabeth Bright is well versed on menopause 😅. Very helpful
Doing great so far! I love watching your videos because they keep me on track. Carnivore has healed my IBS and chronic bloat!
That is awesome! Thank you!
Finally!! The fat to protein is made simple. Thank you so very much.
@@remmykins8574 curious, why divide the total calories by 13? Thank You
@@TidyWhitey protein is 4 calories per gram, and fat is 9 per gram. So if you divide by 13 you get 1 g of protein and 1g of fat. :D
I’m so happy they talked about the heart palpitations with the histamine intolerance❤
I get it from anxiety, and thyroid issues. sometimes adrenals but honestly, never Histamine issues; and I have severe histamine issues. Buut, histamine issues can affect your thyroid, which it does to me, and thun I get the palpitations. aka. a while in to the histamine inflammation
One of the best vids i have seen on RUclips about carnviror diet and fat intake.
Yes! I have been trying to find a simple answer to fat/protein ration for over a month now and this video made it so simple!
@russell1709 how did you finally get your body to increase your food intake? I’m having this same issue
It was sad to watch her life shrink to doctor appts

This is hands down the best video!!!! I could watch it 100 times!!
Will need to watch again, I really need to understand well the proper ratios, my sleep sucks.
Wow. Newer to carnivore and I just love how aware you all are with health and birth. Mom of 2, both home births!
Just saw your review on Billy Doe Meats:) so cool. We get our lamb from Billy's too! I breastfeed for 12 months and one for 2.5 years. Extremely emotional intelligence is evident. Motherhood is so life giving.
The absolute best video ever. ❤
Truly enjoyed this and all the informative info!
Thank you ❤
Can totally identify with the horror of conventional re-feeding for anorexia. All that from being fed "healthy and balanced" meals (mostly carbs.)
Anorexia isn't something you ever shake off completely, but after a lot of relapses, I think carnivore is the most effective treatment because you are forced to confront that pathological fear of fat and deal with it once and for all.
That's so helpful thank you my lovely..wishing you well on your healing xx
@@cearilindubhlaoi9507 Thank you! You too!
Totally agree! ❤
I only know one or two people who can afford rib eyes even occasionally! I eat ground beef most of the time and if any cheap cut of steak is on sale (as in not much over $5/pound) I'll buy that as a treat.
I do the same as you. Meat is pricey Yep!
One year carnivore. I’m feeling stronger than I have in my whole life (I’ll 61 in a few weeks)
The scale is a liar and doesn’t tell the whole truth but I still struggle with this diet mindset-I so much needed to hear this once again! I’m tweaking my ratios currently by doing a 2 week tracking to see days I felt good and slept good and what were my ratios!
I so appreciate you all!!! ❤
I’m surprised you guys are not talking about the benefits of autophagy and fasting excellent show and interview
They did!
This is such a great conversation! And I’m totally addicted to brown butter bites…so tasty & easy to make🙌🏻
How do you make them?

You're right about the fear. I have a hard time getting my head around eating all that fat. When I've tried to up my fat, I feel like I'm getting fatter. Also, it's hard for me to eat big meals. I only eat twice a day, but still have a hard time putting down 2,400 calories--being a 5'6" male at 165lbs,
Rebekah was amazing! Thanks for this clip, for some reason things for me are starting to click so this was perfect for me.
If I may, I suggest you save the rendered fat from when you cook bacon and use that to cook foods in, especially the eggs. SO good! It's all fat, it adds a little salt and the flavor enhancement is incredible.
I leave mine on the counter covered in a jar .
Going carnivore January 1st. Great info! Look forward to feeling better and improving my health.
Rebekah, you have done so well. I'm humbled.
I mean all I see is eat till you feel full, I do , but according to her that's not enough protein,
If you have excess body fat then I wouldn’t worry too much about forcing more fat into your diet.
OMG. This was a huge aha moment for me. Only strict carnivore for 1 month
I have no fear of eating too much I just can't get that much food down in one sitting as a senior!

Bella, do you have any specific videos that cater more towards gaining weight and muscle mass? I see a lot of content regarding losing weight and burning fat and rarely stumble upon videos for gaining weight and muscle. Thank you :)
That’s my issue I have zero weight to lose I need to gain weight and muscle now .
Been saying this too.
Continue to eat carnivore and increase your calories while lifting weights so you’ll gain muscle vs gaining fat weight. Your size will increase by putting on muscle. Too much cardio will leave you looking soft and saggy “skinny fat” which you don’t want.

Yes! I love eggs! I eat at least four eggs per day.
I had my first baby in the hospital and I’m so glad I did. In my case my son had the cord wrapped around his neck and I just couldn’t push him out. Good afternoon from Copperhill Tn. Always great information for our health!!
I I completely disagree with her that you can cure CIRS with diet alone.
This is absolute GOLD!

100 grams of fat = 900 calories
200 grams of protein = 800 calories
Total of 1700 calories
Almost a 1:1 ratio of fat & protein calories.
Easy to add more calories in this example.
This is actually a low calorie diet.
I think what she says about ratio is 2:1 fat to protein. 200 grams fat . 100 grams of protein. 🤔
180g protein = 720 calories
180g fat = 1620
This equals 2340. :)
@@remmykins8574 yes 👍🏾! That is one to one ratio in grams.
Hello Bella
Thank you for the great work, keep going
Sharing my opinion after 2 years on the Carnivora and ketogenic diet
(2 years between dietary transition (removing complex carbohydrates (Natural) as I removed the industrialized ones on the first day of the dietary change)
2. Every Body has a health problem to correct
(No one is the same when it comes to health problems, even if they have the same disease)
3. Gaining weight or losing weight can be an easier task for some people, this is due to their body, which may have a problem in a certain organ.
(Which was not diagnosed by laboratory tests) due to several factors
4. The beginning of the diet is very delicate, as we want to heal quickly, at least overnight,
(We can start the improvement process when we change our diet on the first day, but we will not be cured overnight. It is not possible to cure years of a wrong diet in just a few days or even months or years, it depends on one body to another)
Total transition I believe in around 5 years,
For those who are only on the carnival diet along with the ketogenic diet, interspersing the two in the same period
6. The most important of all
(Follow your Ancestral Food instinct, which was taken from humans)
Which ?
(When you want to eat more protein, eat, when you want to eat more fat, eat. When you don't want to eat, don't eat) Do you want to gain weight?
Exercise with moderate weight
I hope I contributed in some way
Great conversation, with so many clear ways to personalize macros. And it’s so great to hear CIRS discussed in the context of carnivore. Thank you!
Looking at this video makes me not want to quit and be more intentional on my protein to fat ratio
Get some fat trimmings
