I am a local citizen. You only tried fast food. Take a look at "zeytinyağlı yemek tarifleri"(olive oiled recipes), "lokanta yemekleri". Also some local people are making good documentary like videos about different places. Also you can listen to turkish folk or art music. I mean anatolian things, not the popular things. Anyway my country is a heaven for tourists I think. For living here, you need to find friends at your level I think, and this country is in a bad situtation because of economics, general behaviour, immigrants, some restrictions etc. These are not the problem of touristic visitors..Use public transport, make research before buying something, find trusted people. Good content and natural and objective point of view. Thanks.

One of my teacher in the states, he called it 70% desert. I was kinda shocked cause during summer yes so many parts look like desert, but in fact, mostly bc of Rocky Mountains and the seasonal flora. Every inch of country has a different climate, culture, geography. It’s like the entire world packed in one middle size country!
It super diverse and every city has its own to present.
From tropical foods to general vegetables, you can grow whatever plant you need. We’re the only country in the world experience tropical climate without connecting to any ocean.
If some global event hit the world and you stuck in Turkey. You will survive for sure. Each mountain has its own river. Water shouldn’t be a problem.
Soil is very rich in minerals.
And plus, we have the deepest, biggest underground cities😉
So you can survive from any disaster possible unless the planet entirely exploded. 💥

I moved to the US from Turkey 14 years ago for the same reason you mentioned at the end. I also think the society is pretty polarized at the moment actually. If it makes you feel any better, the approval ratings of the president and his government are down to 25% in the most recent polls. This is his lowest approval rate since 2003. And this time he has a formidable opponent, the mayor of Istanbul. So things might change quite a bit in the next few years.

Oh bro you really get me on the government view in the end. Restrictions on the internet happen rarely, but annoying for us anyway 😒
Plus that guy is in the office more than 20 friggin years not 10 🤦‍♂️
Also, I think you should reconsider your diet. Everytime you were in a place, all you got was fast food🤦‍♂️
Italian Greek cuisines are very similar to Turkish one plus with the Lebanese, even Indian. It has alot to offer however representation is so different than most of the countries, so it takes tjme to get used to it. Unfortunately not many people speaks English and it could be quite challenging to express what you’re looking for.
I didn’t get your complains on RUclips but I guess it happened in the days when we had a fcked up restriction stuff on social media. It was so annoying and it lasted for days.
It was fun watching you anyway 👍

You said that you would visit Turkiye but you would not settle and live there, your number 1 reason was the regime being suppressed, (dictatorial), did you ever feel that your freedom movement and/or speech restricted, were you ever being subject to any segregation, anything suggest that there was a suppressed regime in Turkiye. There is far more freedom and social justice in Turkiye than in the USA anytime in the history. If you check the history of the western civilizations for centuries, you will see the true suppressed regimes, especially in America and the US worldwide. You better think before you open your trap in public.

I wouldn't move to Turkey if I lost a bet. Nothing against most of the people , more to due to their political situation and the whole of Europe in general. Until Putin is gone I feel it's all unsafe. I'd much prefer more of Baja.

Can't say I disagree for a lot of the countries over here. It's a bit of discussion between Nikki and I and our slightly different risk tolerances. But yea, instability is afoot.

Considering safety, it has a lot to offer.
Considering all the annoying news in general, the life here is quite calm. Depends of the type of city you living in, it could be chaotic to super boring. It’s all about what you’re looking for.
If you’re working from home or retired. don’t like crowded cities, go for Aegean or Mediterranean or northern/eastern towns. You’re gonna be surprised for sure.
If you like to party, addicted to partying, having fun, go for istanbul, Antalya or Izmir.
Rentals are like around 500$ to 1000$ at max. Depends on the luxury types we have astronomical prices as well but housing in general is in quite better condition compared to Italy, Greece or Malta.
Whenever I talk to any resident from canada to Russia, they’re all in love with everything. They even love this country more than me I guess. I sometimes complain about things here, and they tell me how grateful I should be to be a citizen of this country😅
I believe every country has its own to be beautiful but I think Turkey is the only country in the world when it comes to diversity in every possible ground.

That doesn't make any sense tho, the political position of Turkiye is pretty unique and neutral. Yes the economy is bad right now, however it will improve over time. Turkiye has some amazing locations and most people are welcoming. I have visited the country 6x already and still want to return.
