For those who are critical, this is what a cover is supposed to be. A reinterpretation of someone else's song. Like it or not, they stepped out from the obvious.

Heel mooi! Prachtig (!) gitaarspel van Erik, mooie stem en een goed samenspel tussen de instrumenten. Ik geniet er steeds weer van.
musical talent is fantastic, and a nice twist on the song by slowing it down, but it seems weird to hear such an aggressive song played so softly. the vocals are about 10 times better than doug's when he plays acoustic and no distortion helping him out. It would be nice to hear the "yyyyeaaahhh" part done the same way as the original but in this soft format. I think breaking it up the way you did, and dropping down in pitch versus reaching higher takes away from how the song actually sounds, that part makes the song stand out in my mind. just my opinion, great job guys

The whole point of this song is that the dude is getting laid. All the "abuse" is just tongue in cheek and he's not really affected by it. It's sarcasm. He may get stood up but at the end of the day, she shows up "ready to go" and he still gets his. He's not wallowing in emotional self-pity at all. He says he has low self-esteem but he still gets more love life than the average nerd, and he knows it. That's the whole point of the song. Not this.
Essentially yes! The tune is written from a humorous point of view. Far too many people take it too seriously. The guy in the song is an exaggerated caricature and it's supposed to be fun!

Wow great reply and I agree with you! But we where definitely not out to replicate the original intend or meaning of certain songs but more like: hey let's reinterpret old songs in different ways. My personal opinion on covers: original versions are already there... so doing it the exact same way again is kinda pointless because you can always just listen to the original if that is the version you love :-) but that's probably not the reason why you clicked on this youtube-vid ;-)
