    Wow, they really dropped the ball.
    I was excited about the idea of moogerfooger plug-ins, but it’s like they just made plugins based on the feature set and not an emulation at all.
    They should have worked with UAD or Softube.

    I have the Z version of the pedal and the external loop is rad and unlike anything else, you can feed the echos thru the phaser for some gnarly sounding effects.

    I tried them and felt that aside from “it’s Moog”, the delay didn’t add more than say echoboy. Your review convinced me I was right!

      From a delay standpoint you’re right. I think the selling point here is having the collection and the interaction between them. Soundtoys has its effect rack as well but doesn’t have the CV connectivity.

    The 104 is legendary. I think the plugin sounds pretty good, but it doesn't sound exactly right when you're trying to do self-oscillations. I think it's pretty good for normal delay lines though.

    As always brilliant video review, I’m just about thinking of buying these plug-ins I really didn’t like the way the delay sounded, I wonder if you’ve had any more chance to play with it because I believe there is some kind of analog setting you can get to under the hood on the plug in

  • @cornerliston
    @cornerliston Год назад +1

    Nice to see.
    I'm surprised they delay is so different as plugin. And the drive/output bug is just not acceptable. But the sound quality is so different anyway so probably not even worth doing it right.
    Maybe if you call them Mr Drive and Mr Output they would get proper attention from the Mowg team. (Sorry, had to.)

    Well, this software suite is sort of disappointment. A proper software emulation of a hardware unit is a really complex job that requires a lot of expertise and experience. I wish Moog did a collaboration with Softube guys, then the final product would be almost indistinguishable from the hardware except probably some extreme use cases and the cost will be justified by the quality. Great work on plugin skins though, really an eye candy.

One question though - where did you get the controller panel for the hidden MIDI functions on the hardware? I'll probably end up getting the plugins as they're more eurorack friendly out of the box (using expert sleepers). I would definitely get the controller panel if it's available!
