This vid was my week to a t. Hired a new guy about a month and a half ago and he was a hard working donkey. Had to part ways with him. We had a good productive week and enjoyed the awesome weather! Thanks for being a mentor to me!
When it’s not working out the best thing to do is cut ties and MoveOn. It’s not good for them or you. Fish swim so it’s best not to try and teach them to climb trees 😉
I found your experience to be true as about 2 months ago i also had team member turnover in our fencing business.. I relate to a lot of your updates. It helps me realize that it's called being in business and finding the correct balances.
As much as we like to think we are having unique experiences the reality is there’s really anything unique about what you’re going through. That, I think, is one of the appeals of this challenge.
Hello mark awesome update and glad to hear you had a great and productive week. We wish you and your team many more great weeks KEEP ON FENCING 💪🏻 Have a great dang day
I feel you and believe if anyone can do it, it’s you and your team. Not trying to be rude, I know your busy but we need an update asap we have been patiently waiting way to long for a follow up update 😀
Logic and government are two words that never belong in the same sentence. I mean if you take something that functions great, surrender your rights and let the government control and flood it with regulations and Wala ruined. Always enjoy watching Mark, and thank you for your content sir, it’s always frightening and enlightening at the same time.
@@SuccessfulContractor , yes, if only every tax payer was aware of and involved with the “happenings” of the government, we would not have as many complications from this entity that once used to function on our behalf.
I hope all is well sir . I’m getting out of the army within 2-3 months and my grandfather has offered to teach me the trade of fencing since he got sick last year. His business has been around since 1989 and I’m the only person in the family that’s even interested in giving it a shot what’s your best advice because I’m very nervous and kind of scared.
Mark, out of curiosity were you concerned that you were that much lower of a bidder? May be a blessing in disguise, and maybe something better comes along, something that maybe that one would’ve prevented you from getting for some reason. Keep up the great work on the vids. 👊
No we knew our numbers and were more Han comfortable with the work. Of the other two, one wasn’t a fence company and the other was from 14 hrs away. I’m right here and have extensive experience with the items being installed. It would have been a home run for us.
@@SuccessfulContractor that makes sense then. I assumed they were local as well. Either way, I still believe there is some reason unbeknownst to you that you didn’t get it and something better will come along.
It’s insane. I could be a terrible contractor in business for 3 years and qualify. The bid docs said “3 years experience” and I took that to mean me….nope, the business had to have the “experience”
A few things: I'm glad things are going better for you. The color coordination at 5:26 is on point. 👌 It sounds like you might need someone on the team who knows how to break kneecaps. 🤌 Where are those beautiful mountains located in Saint Augustine? I have to see them next time we're there. 🤣
Hope you and your team and the fence fam had a great 4 of July 🇺🇸
We had a great time. hope you did the same!

Thanks for always sharing the Good the Bad ( not so Good) & the Ugly my friend! Have a great Labor Day Weekend!
Glad you enjoy.

I sure hope I don’t let you down. we need several productive weeks to make up for the last few months 🤣

In California good fencemen are hard to find. Foreman's are even harder. New generation want more money for less work.
It’s easiest to find good people and train them. We gave up hiring trained people years ago in Wyoming. If we found them it never worked.

The government really goofed this one up and every tax payer should be irate that their money is spent like this.

Mark brings a ton of knowledge. Love these updates and a look behind the scenes.
A ton of knowledge or a ton of mistakes either way as long as you learn from my mess 😂
Fork lift stuck you have experience with that
Except I did this to myself 😂

It can be a great business if done right.
Great video Mark, happy to see things smoothing out a little - really appreciate your sharing the journey with us all. Can't wait for the next one 👍
I think we are starting to pick up steam. Thank you for the encouragement.

You seem much less stressed this week.
That stinks about the 3 years thing. Government efficiency at work.

@@SuccessfulContractor I'd read it the same way.

It really should’ve been orange rather than blue.
@@SuccessfulContractor I wondered that myself
