- Restoration UNDERWAY!! Last video I Faired the new floor. Now it's Ready for Primer!! I went with a Total Boat High Build 2-Part Epoxy Primer. It was simple and so satisfying watching the floor become one color. FINALLY all the hard work is coming together. This was a huge step in this process. Thank you all for the support!

well well well... My Bayliner Restoration Dude is TEARING IT UP!!! YOU GO KURT. IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!!
Thank you!
This has been one of my favorite projects to follow; relaxing, informative, and rewarding, with the anticipation of watching you fish and film your Mental Health Day videos in it. Your adventure with this boat has become an oasis of calm amongst my storm, and it's greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Nothing better then getting paid to watch your videos. Absolutely love the series so exciting to see the outcome. Keep up the great work Kurt!
Much appreciated!
Kirk all that hard Work will pay off the minute you get on the water and enjoy the boat and with the price of new boats this is a Big Win, I can't wait to see it on the water.
I can't wait
Wow, that's turning out very nice. You have every reason to be smiling like that. Looking forward to seeing the paint going on. Take care. ✌️
Thanks Clayton
Can't wait to see her back on the water
Me too!
Dang!! That looks SA-WEET!! Can't wait to see what the paint looks like. Fine job!!
Thank you!
Now this is exciting! Getting to any paint step is always satisfying.
Thanks Jenn!
Many us us have the skills and ability to do a project like this, but never will. Kudos to your high level of motivation and initiative to complete such a meticulous and tedious job. Well done.
Much appreciated!
Looking forward for the maiden voyage of the new old Bayliner.
I can't wait
Great job Kurt. It's like i keep telling my Neurosurgeon we can all do anything we put our minds too! I can do Neurosurgery just like him it's just my patients wont live as long. once again great job on the boat looking good....
Thanks Chuck!
Oh my gosh that looks sooooo dang Great!! I have watched you from the beginning of this project and I can't wait until you get that boat out on the water!! Nice Nice job Kurt!! God bless!!
Thanks Lori!
Awesome man. Wish I had the energy to finish my Folbot project. Needs a new deck, a fix on a spar and some hull repair. Age creeps up on one quickly.
Looks great! Can’t wait to see the finished “product”. 😀
Me too!
Looking good Kurt, you are getting there for sure!
Thank you!
We are redoing a 1958 MFG. Fiberglass hull capped with mahogany topside. I have just got to primer stage and am getting ready to order it today. I agree, it is a very good feeling to actually see a light at the end of the tunnel. It has been about 5 years on and off working on it (some long stretches with no work on it). Bought a brand-new Suzuki 40hp 4 stroke, because I love the classic look of my boat but don't like dealing with old, unreliable boat motors. I have it up in the air, so I can do the bottom and plan on using either this or their other epoxy primer, barrier coat. From what I gather, both are good for both top and bottom priming. I am just trying to decide which will be best for me. I am an electrician, not a boat builder or painter so I am learning on the fly. Thank god for You tube. I learn a bit with every video. thanks.
Awesome video Kurt!! What a great job you have done on this boat!! Perhaps there's a second career here for you after you retire from firefighting! Lot of work has gone into this build, but the end is near! Thanks for taking us along on this build, sharing your knowledge and experience with us all!
God Bless and stay safe!
Haha! I hope I never have to do this again
Looking great mate. Glad that you’re back to enjoying working on the boat. Look forward to the next episode.
Thanks for bringing us along on the inner boat rebuild. Looks really good from the beginning til now, can't wait to see the finished project.
Thanks Jason
I cant wait to see this boat on the water! Good job!
Me too! Thanks
Really looks good Kurt. Lot of hard work. But it's starting to all come together. Nice job!
Thanks!
Beauty!
i'll be right over with some margaritas.
Blessings!
Great video looks really nice👍🏽
Little late to the party(just spent 2 weeks in the hospital yay fun fun) that looks amazing! Don't think you'll ever have to worry about those floors again! Hope to see see some videos from the USS Franz in the near future!
Thank you! Hope you're doing better
That will be nice when your finished thanks for sharing!
Sweet Job! Might get it in the water this year!!
Need a five gallon bucket of navy non skid, that covers up everything!
Looking awesome, you've come a long way since the spongy floor you started with. Keep up the great videos and God bless you and your family.
Thanks
Great job. Don’t let your tape stay too long. It could quite possibly peel up your paint and primer. Lessons I learned from painting for twenty years.
Thank you
Love the video!
That looks GOOD!!
Awesome job kurt
Looks absolutely amazing ❤️❤️
Thanks Liddy
Nice job almost finished
Thanks Nancy!
It's looking really good brutha
Much appreciated
So happy to see the next steps! We are in VA and right behind you on doing our 2000 bayliner Capri 2350lx. What kind of paint do you plan on using now that’s primed?
I used totalboat totaltread. Love it!
You did a great job. Nice work
Thank you
excellent work mate. Keep it up and love the humor!!
Looking good!👍🏻
Thanks John
Good 👍👍👍
Have really enjoyed the journey so far. Amazing what a solid color on the floor and sides does to tie it together. Assuming that is the same pvc paneling from the Jon boat project. Been trying to find some for a project of mine. Not easily found in California. None at Home Depot out here. Must be an east coast thing.
Induction? We always called it sweat time. What was the pot life of the mixed product? I use to run a two part isocyonate resign epoxy we would spray kinda like a bed liner system except our product would cure in 10 seconds. It would mix at the gun. Could spray anything including ice block for fun made a perfect mold. Did good on the Bayliner. Maybe soon you'll be out fishing or detecting on style
It started getting thick towards the end. I had to thin it with a splash of primer thinner. I'd say 20 mins
Looks amazing!
Thanks!
Hey dude! Great video series! Is there more videos, do you still have it? Thanks!
Refurbishing a boat right now as well. Have ten beers as you cook your dinner, you deserve it. Job well done.
Hell yeah
Looks great! Curious how the access panel is going to stay in place? Doesnt look like any support lip from what i can tell from video. I am about to move forward on mine. Floors out..
What do you think about pvc sheets for flooring instead of plywood?
Just curious and great job to what I see in renovation and had no clue in some things but all said and done how much did you put into this project? And just a rounded number. You've done an amazing job and just wondering if I follow down your path, how long also?
Thanks! Around 2k. Most of that was the wood and the resin.
Looking to use this but is it me or does it have a brown tint?
Will TOTALTREAD NON-SKID MARINE DECK PAINT stick to Flow Coat which is mixed with a M.E.K.P. Catalyst?
I'm sure it will if you scuff it up first. Call them. They have a whole team that just takes calls and answers questions. They're awesome
@@MentalHealthDay82 thank you for your reply. It is hard for me to call them as I am in Australia, however I did log into their website but there is no way to contact them by email so that is why I chose to ask here. Cheers and thank you
@steveinoz Definitely worth a try. Just scuff it up first with 220 grit. Then clean with acetone. Should stick
Hoover boys right?
Yup
So after having my 2250 bayliner with a new motor sit for 5 years, got a floor rot issue. What's the price for your floor resto so far?
Maybe 2k?
@@MentalHealthDay82 just love the exterior design of the boat, think 2k is fine for a family project plus new interior.
@@JAGER686 Good luck!
Roughly what was your total cost on the job?
The entire project I'd say around 2k
Oh nice. About how much resin did you end up using?
@@michaelschoelles4377 Little over 4 gallons
