Whats your opinion on using the Totaltread on top of a house boat instead of PPG Pitthane? Other houseboats of the same type have used the PPG but it is very difficult to get ahold of right now. The surface is gelcoat over fiberglass. The gelcoat is 25 yrs old so fairly degraded and chalky. Thanks!

I have never use PPG. So I couldn’t compare for you. I will say if your using totaltread keep the coats thin and make sure there’s some good tooth on the gelcoat.

I think if you can scrape and ball up one coat of totalboat topside, you didn't follow directions or do it right. I don't know how you applied a thin coat on such a tiny piece of wood? With boat paint, it needs thin coats. Good info tho.

Well I’m pretty sure I did it right, it’s just not good paint. I used it for this video and never again. Alexseal is the pant to go with
