It's notable that this launched as the Vision _Pro,_ which implies an Apple Vision at some point in the future. In a year when they have a base of installed apps, it would make sense for them to launch the Apple Vision Pro 2 with an M3 chip and launch a $1500 Apple Vision base model which people will perceive as a value due to the Vision Pro anchoring the price at $3500 plus.
I think that the end goal is something much less cumbersome and the external battery decision speaks to that. Assuming that this device does what Apple devices have traditionally done, I bet the device five years from now will be a third the size and much lighter. The iPod was the first really successful MP3 player. The iPhone was the first really successful touchscreen phone. The iPad was the first successful tablet computer. All these devices had somewhat wonky first iterations. That's probably the most exciting thing about the Vision Pro. Apple sees the future better than any other company.

I think people that really want it will buy it and people that are skeptical won’t. I’m not really sure that people that are really into computing would be tricked into buying a beta product, hence not really sure it’s necessary to dump on it. We all know it’s not quite right yet. It could be a stepping stone to the better product. Many would say that Apple shouldn’t do that to their customers, but people will still want it anyway. They are sitting comparing this to a f*cking Quest 3 with a mobile chip!! Also, the reason for the shortage of the devices is the custom 4k micro OLED panels it uses in the headset that no other headset has at the moment! They don’t know that either! PHT, do you know the Varjo XR3 is between 6k and 10k and you have to plug it into a computer? The XR4 will be cheaper because of the AVP and now they have to be competitive. If you want to be a real tech reviewer, this is what you compare the AVP to! It’s actually the headset that Apple based the AVP off of. You should be telling me that, not the other way around! One thing that makes me feel like I’m kind of going insane was I keep on buying the same phone but basically the same features and I’m starting to lose my mind. Apple feels like a microwave. It works. It’s boring, and if I only have one life to live, I’d rather live it on an ecosystem that pushing the feature boundary like Samsung just feels to me that only Google and Samsung are trying to really move the ball forward and I feel like I’m in a boring marriage passion has died. I didn’t want to leave. I feel like Apple left me. Literally the only thing I’m gonna miss about Apple ecosystem is my Apple Watch which I love but besides that I’m wondering if I’ve been abducted by a cult 😂@apple @samsung
