Maybe I'm wrong in all of this, maybe I'm salty watching Giant getting nerfs and more nerfs, but I fell like at this rate he's gonna loose all his kill moves soon.
I could see Arya getting nerfed a little, but I don't think any of the other top characters should be nerfed. I would much rather see the rest of the cast getting buffs at this point since the power level of the top characters seems much more manageable than the top characters of previous patches
My boy jake needs so much help. Not only does he need to be buffed to not be knocked back by you hiting his fist, but he needs to be fixed. Not only is his bouncy house perk just broken and doesn't work, but his neutral air is also broken. His mallet combo doesn't exist in the game for some reason right now so he needs to be looked at.
Can any of you let me know if you have experienced the same glitch while playing online? Whenever I would play a 1’s or 2’s match, my game would randomly experience like a frame skip and my character would be stuck moving in the same direction with no way to stop them until they run off the stage and kill themselves.

Arya really isnt talked about enough, an instant dodge attack that comes in her kit, ladder combos that can track you and basically teleport to you, hella ways to spike, very hard to catch with her roll/dodge attack. She is easily the strongest/overpowered character in the game.
Samurai Jack is a good solid character and super fun to play. I keep trying to tell people he ain’t broken, there’s a ton of other characters that have way more craziness than him.

As a Marvin main I honestly rly enjoy where he’s at. I don’t play super high level but he is so fun and I think can do a lot more than a lot of ppl realize combo wise and generally lacks kill power but does have some very good killing moves if u leverage them correctly. His ledge guarding is also incredible and if they ever wait too long on the wall u can switch it up and dair them and get rly early kills.
Keep in mind... this is from someone who has dedicated a part of his life to the game. He has way more knowledge than most poeple. He know which move and how to punish. Great tier list

Velma cooks. I swear there's been changes in the background not documented in patch notes. Her jab is up there with Rick, she gets down smash which pops up for combo or up attack chase. Theres also something with her, where if you drop off ledge or use up special on the ground, you get an extra midair jump. You can also dodge cancel up attack for waaay more distance than launch. Theres definitely been changes to her air up attack and the end lag, you can spam it now and it has a lingering hitbox... shes trending in the right direction. Currently 14-2 in ranked sets with her.
You're bugging bro velma might have the worst jab in the game. Its pretty slow and you get nothing from it. Jab to down smash is not even close to being a true combo. Jab 1 combos into up smash and nothing else, jab 2 literally cannot true combo into anything other than jab ender. (Can technically get up smash but it's VERY inconsistent) The thing you're talking about with the grounded up special, that is a universal mechanic, every character who's grounded up special puts them airborne will keep all of their jumps. Unfortunately velma does not cook at all. If she gets frame data buffs and up special spikes, then she will be able to cook. Right now she is actually useless.
Idk man, I have ZERO problem with any of the top tiers, but I'm absolutely tired of samurai jack. Not even because the people I go against are good, but because they all just spam side special and it had so little ending that even if they miss it entirely they can act out of it immediately whether that's spamming their next move, or dodging, just to do ANOTHER side special. It genuinely makes the game less enjoyable for me because he has such a fun kit. It's sad and I don't even know if I care to play more ranked right now after GENUINELY the last 20 matches I've had being spamming Jack's. I might come back to the game later. If they literally ONLY out in some endlag on his side special so push people away from spamming, id be entirely fun. But I'm not enjoying the game right now. Maybe later this season, or maybe I'm done with MvS. Literally anyone else spamming is still more fun

Being a Smith main, his neutral is really good, unless you go against characters with small hit boxes, because his Side Air Attack can't hit small characters, especially when they're on the ground since that attack is angled upwards a bit, making it miss standing characters like TnJ, Reindog, and Marvin
Shaggy used to be considered such a broken character but honestly once people figured out how to stop getting hit by every single side special, it calmed down. Shaggy just has extremely good neutral game and his confirms are nuts
What I hate about fighting Joker is that his jab 1 hits above him so punishing him with a down air still often hits you out of it and he gets a free n easy 40ish dmg combo out
Hot take arya really is character dependent and usually bad against small characters due to combos just not connecting. Dont forget the fact that she’s probably the only character that can die easily at 40% these are things i noticed grinding arya currently #12 and against good players just feels like you can get exploited. 2s is a nightmare
I agree with you. I exclusively play 2s because I find that more fun and interesting than 1v1 matches. While Arya is amazing, she never felt unfairly broken to me or like an SS tier or “best character in the game”. She’s been my main since the beta, and I’m #65 or something in ranked. Plenty of matchups hand me my ass.
She really isn’t overpowered, they just made her a perfect glass cannon and it’s perfect for top players and that’s all they complaining about. The only arya that consistently gives me a run for my money is my friend. Some ppl think because they lose to a character a lot they must be broken when in actuality they might just suck at the match up or the player is really good that it looks like they’re op. Once i learned her move’s and tendencies i’ve had no problems with the average ones. She isn’t op in fact she’s one if the harder characters to learn which is why a lot of Arya’s are good, cause they went through the pain of levity learning every in and out of her
I agree with this list about 100%. I only disagree with the bugs placement, mainly because so many characters can shut down and punish his projectiles really easily. Once they are on cool down, his approach options are gone. But yes, his combo and confirm game is pretty nice. He's just super fun to play and I think at a fair spot in the game.
As a Wonder Woman main I think you were spot on about her. Top 7-8 and high A tier is right. Her kill power got the much needed nerf cus she was broken but the disjointed hit boxes and combo ability make her a real menace in neutral despite being a tank. And she's not easy to kill
IG’s 45 second neutral special nerf is NUTS and completely drops him from S tier imo, yes he’s easy but oh my god they’ve practically killed him, he’s pure combo food

I know this is a 1s tier list mostly, but I wanna vouch a little bit for Jake as someone that got him to Master in 2v2s, now that they buffed the active frames on a bunch of his aerials and reworked his neutral air 2, he's actually a pretty scary aerial, kind of mid-range fighter that racks up damage through raw hits, in 2v2s specifically he can kind of act as your bodyguard thanks to his massive side air that doesn't trade as often now after the buffs, he's starting to become more of a real character with a niche compared to how he was exclusively a bite spam machine at the start of the full release, I would genuinely go as far as to say that he's now on the low end of the mid tier in 2v2s instead of the low tier he is in 1v1s, I know I might sound fucking insane for that but it's what I think, and the developers did clarify in the Season 2 patch notes that the mid-season patch is gonna give Jake even more love, so I feel like Jake is gonna start to slowly work his way up the lists But yeah, in 1v1s he's still too predictable, slow and weird to realistically go too far on the lists, his combo game is still kind of underwhelming compared to most of the cast if you don't land his down aerial or get a wall bounce with side air
Morty’s been nerfed enough coming from a beta player who only played Morty he’s still pretty dominant I’ve never used the mud wall didint kno how useful it was till now I was more hurt when they took out his healing feature I thought that was pretty dope to have he’s great where he’s at his moves rarely connect and you can literally dodge most his attacks if your good I’m plat 1 with Morty once yu go against a jack or a wonder women or even a Finn it’s over no matter what most characters have more and better move sets then Morty us Morty’s got like 3 ways to input damage not including mud wall compared to others like jack or Jason their move sets are insane
His play style is one of the best in the game, but he is shockingly weak right now. The only real way he’s winning so much is because lots of players just don’t know how to deal with his play style, since he’s good at putting lots of pressure on, but he has a ton of weaknesses. His rocket is easily dodgeable, and it’s his only somewhat decent finisher (though it only does 11dmg), and the rest of his moveset has such bad knockback that you could end up struggling to kill people until they’re on 170, which is unheard of for other characters. He’s unbelievably slow for an assassin (almost every bruiser is even faster), and all of hos moves have cool-downs, start lag, and end lag. Plus his jab is one of the worst in the game and none of his projectiles last long enough unless you bubble them. He is by far the most punishable character in the game
@@aawake Giving Marvin more speed wouldn't be a good idea balance wise and his cooldowns aren't that much of a problem (you probably could get rid of side special's cooldown tough). Projectiles don't last long, since you are not supposed to zone, he's an assasin and his combos reflect that. I think that he shouldn't receive buffs, because the game mechanics are his biggest problem. You can dodge his projectile once and be able to not get hit by it at all. That kills a lot of potential for his button and flag abilities. If that was changed, I think he would be just fine.
Taz is really annoying to fight if you don't have a projectile in your kit to counter his tornado and dust cloud or at least an extension attack like Wonder Woman's lasso or Agent Smith's gun.
I think yall are over rating Arya and the reason im saying this is because only really good players make Arya look really good but when average or bad players play Arya she dont look good at all which means she is a skill based character which is a really good thing for fighting games imo if a character is only good when played by really good players then they are not OP, broken, best in the game or whatever else yall call the character imo because it takes skill to make her look good and she die earlier than every other character so she get punished for making any mistakes

Finn and T&J player here. Finn is good but is so light and his play style requires aggressiveness so he’s easily countered if they start predicting your approaches/ have priority moves or large hitboxes on their moves. His combo game is good but not unstoppable. Tom and Jerry is still fun but he feels so reliant on Jerry now and he feels almost boring because it’s either Jerry combo or hammer into paddle combo. Tom and Jerry during the Beta was my favorite character but now he feels like he should camp to get the most use of his kit and that’s lame. Game speed during the beta will always be better to me simply because everyone in 1’s now just runs back and forth and it was never like that in the beta and even in ranked!

As a stripe main for the top 100 I think you need to be around silver that’s how little we have. We have one maybe three people in the max tier with the number one being Mrdarknight. And we have few platinum it’s pretty funny. Edit we have 50 exact in platinum now and the 100 is gold four

Hi bro, I'm Brazilian, so maybe my English is horrible. I just want to say that you shouldn't feel bad about having a hard time against Marvin. I'm a main marvin (top 40 now) and although he's a weak character in terms of confirming kills, he's quite annoying to deal with, and depending on your character this is made worse
@@allen2reckless676 I don't think he needs mega buffs, but it's noticeable that the character is wronged like this. He can only get kills early with his missile, his other attacks are much more difficult to get kills. The forward aerial special doesn't even look like a special, it doesn't have any knockback, just like the upward special. Every match, Marvin needs to leave you with 120 or more damage to kill you with other moves, unless you are very high on the map and take a random projectile. Other assassins have much better finishing attacks, it's no wonder that in almost all tierlists he is at C or even lower. In a game where Joker and Finn can do 0 to kill combos and characters like Morty/Harley kill you with a combo of 3 hits or less, Marvin needs knock back buffs
just adding a few things: 1 - it is also possible to finish an enemy early if he is at the edge of the map, just use the projectile from marvin's basic combo. The problem is that for this to work, the opponent has to falter. 2 - it is possible to finish the opponent using Marvin's basic combo when he is at 110/105, but he has to be at the edge of the map or the projectile has to hit a very specific angle (the problem is that it is not something constant)

Morty is one button character, they can buff him as much as they want as soon as they remove earth. Edit: I just read the patch notes and it seems that they did try that. Morty can't be one-combo-man, he has so many tools to utilize.

I really don't understand why people think iron giant is God tier. Like bro... Just up air him and he can't do anything about it. You wanna juggle him to the top of the screen? He can't stop you from doing that for the most part. The moment his eject button is used up, he is basically defenseless against this.
Velma’s kit feels too awkward and un-cohesive to play, and you have to work way harder than the other person to win on her and that can get exhausting fast. I still think PFG is afraid to buff her in any meaningful way that’ll put her in the meta discussion

I agree, I do like that you used "pretty good" instead of "WW/JOKER/ARYA LEVEL BUSTED OMG" when he was released. Current Banana Guard has no combo game and is heavily read reliant. The only thing he has going for him is his kill power still, but other than that he's ass lol.

Latest patch destroyed lebrons combo paths again, I'm getting real sick of relearning the character every patch. They make him less interesting every patch. I might have to drop the character.
They NEED to fix Superman lasers and up special. They simply just do not work. Two of his best moves completely worthless and they havent worked properly since launch. Up special gets worse every patch. They keep nerfing him but refuse to fix his bugs.
I personally can't get behind Jason being any higher than C. Yes, he is in a better place than before, but when he can get punished for trying to jab punish a whiff, that's pretty damning to me. When he can dodge past the Joker while he's swinging his fish and STILL get hit by the same exact fish swing for trying to jab him from behind, that's not a sign of confidence for me. Fix his hurtboxes, and then I'd probably agree with B.

When Stevens found out that their N-Air is punishable, yeah they stopped using it as much, despite that N-Air can lead into some good combos.

Theres also something with her, where if you drop off ledge or use up special on the ground, you get an extra midair jump. You can also dodge cancel up attack for waaay more distance than launch. Theres definitely been changes to her air up attack and the end lag, you can spam it now and it has a lingering hitbox... shes trending in the right direction. Currently 14-2 in ranked sets with her.
You're bugging bro velma might have the worst jab in the game. Its pretty slow and you get nothing from it. Jab to down smash is not even close to being a true combo. Jab 1 combos into up smash and nothing else, jab 2 literally cannot true combo into anything other than jab ender. (Can technically get up smash but it's VERY inconsistent) The thing you're talking about with the grounded up special, that is a universal mechanic, every character who's grounded up special puts them airborne will keep all of their jumps. Unfortunately velma does not cook at all. If she gets frame data buffs and up special spikes, then she will be able to cook. Right now she is actually useless.

Idk man, I have ZERO problem with any of the top tiers, but I'm absolutely tired of samurai jack. Not even because the people I go against are good, but because they all just spam side special and it had so little ending that even if they miss it entirely they can act out of it immediately whether that's spamming their next move, or dodging, just to do ANOTHER side special. It genuinely makes the game less enjoyable for me because he has such a fun kit. It's sad and I don't even know if I care to play more ranked right now after GENUINELY the last 20 matches I've had being spamming Jack's. I might come back to the game later. If they literally ONLY out in some endlag on his side special so push people away from spamming, id be entirely fun. But I'm not enjoying the game right now. Maybe later this season, or maybe I'm done with MvS. Literally anyone else spamming is still more fun

I gotchu void, stripe is so good, I’ll be the guy to rep him to masters. He had some broken setups with gun off stage & gun into dynamite confirms and contesting stripe up b on ledge is so hard with how big it is.
Being a Smith main, his neutral is really good, unless you go against characters with small hit boxes, because his Side Air Attack can't hit small characters, especially when they're on the ground since that attack is angled upwards a bit, making it miss standing characters like TnJ, Reindog, and Marvin
Shaggy used to be considered such a broken character but honestly once people figured out how to stop getting hit by every single side special, it calmed down. Shaggy just has extremely good neutral game and his confirms are nuts
What I hate about fighting Joker is that his jab 1 hits above him so punishing him with a down air still often hits you out of it and he gets a free n easy 40ish dmg combo out

Dont forget the fact that she’s probably the only character that can die easily at 40% these are things i noticed grinding arya currently #12 and against good players just feels like you can get exploited. 2s is a nightmare
I agree with you. I exclusively play 2s because I find that more fun and interesting than 1v1 matches. While Arya is amazing, she never felt unfairly broken to me or like an SS tier or “best character in the game”. She’s been my main since the beta, and I’m #65 or something in ranked. Plenty of matchups hand me my ass.

I don’t main arya i play batman but my friend is really good with her. Weather im playing 1’s or two’s i dont struggle against arya and I’ve played some good ones. The only arya that consistently gives me a run for my money is my friend. Some ppl think because they lose to a character a lot they must be broken when in actuality they might just suck at the match up or the player is really good that it looks like they’re op. Once i learned her move’s and tendencies i’ve had no problems with the average ones. She isn’t op in fact she’s one if the harder characters to learn which is why a lot of Arya’s are good, cause they went through the pain of levity learning every in and out of her

I only disagree with the bugs placement, mainly because so many characters can shut down and punish his projectiles really easily. Once they are on cool down, his approach options are gone.
But yes, his combo and confirm game is pretty nice. He's just super fun to play and I think at a fair spot in the game.

As a Wonder Woman main I think you were spot on about her. Top 7-8 and high A tier is right. Her kill power got the much needed nerf cus she was broken but the disjointed hit boxes and combo ability make her a real menace in neutral despite being a tank. And she's not easy to kill
IG’s 45 second neutral special nerf is NUTS and completely drops him from S tier imo, yes he’s easy but oh my god they’ve practically killed him, he’s pure combo food

I know this is a 1s tier list mostly, but I wanna vouch a little bit for Jake as someone that got him to Master in 2v2s, now that they buffed the active frames on a bunch of his aerials and reworked his neutral air 2, he's actually a pretty scary aerial, kind of mid-range fighter that racks up damage through raw hits, in 2v2s specifically he can kind of act as your bodyguard thanks to his massive side air that doesn't trade as often now after the buffs, he's starting to become more of a real character with a niche compared to how he was exclusively a bite spam machine at the start of the full release, I would genuinely go as far as to say that he's now on the low end of the mid tier in 2v2s instead of the low tier he is in 1v1s, I know I might sound fucking insane for that but it's what I think, and the developers did clarify in the Season 2 patch notes that the mid-season patch is gonna give Jake even more love, so I feel like Jake is gonna start to slowly work his way up the lists
But yeah, in 1v1s he's still too predictable, slow and weird to realistically go too far on the lists, his combo game is still kind of underwhelming compared to most of the cast if you don't land his down aerial or get a wall bounce with side air

Morty’s been nerfed enough coming from a beta player who only played Morty he’s still pretty dominant I’ve never used the mud wall didint kno how useful it was till now I was more hurt when they took out his healing feature I thought that was pretty dope to have he’s great where he’s at his moves rarely connect and you can literally dodge most his attacks if your good I’m plat 1 with Morty once yu go against a jack or a wonder women or even a Finn it’s over no matter what most characters have more and better move sets then Morty us Morty’s got like 3 ways to input damage not including mud wall compared to others like jack or Jason their move sets are insane

His play style is one of the best in the game, but he is shockingly weak right now. The only real way he’s winning so much is because lots of players just don’t know how to deal with his play style, since he’s good at putting lots of pressure on, but he has a ton of weaknesses.
His rocket is easily dodgeable, and it’s his only somewhat decent finisher (though it only does 11dmg), and the rest of his moveset has such bad knockback that you could end up struggling to kill people until they’re on 170, which is unheard of for other characters. He’s unbelievably slow for an assassin (almost every bruiser is even faster), and all of hos moves have cool-downs, start lag, and end lag. Plus his jab is one of the worst in the game and none of his projectiles last long enough unless you bubble them. He is by far the most punishable character in the game
@@aawake Giving Marvin more speed wouldn't be a good idea balance wise and his cooldowns aren't that much of a problem (you probably could get rid of side special's cooldown tough). Projectiles don't last long, since you are not supposed to zone, he's an assasin and his combos reflect that.
I think that he shouldn't receive buffs, because the game mechanics are his biggest problem. You can dodge his projectile once and be able to not get hit by it at all. That kills a lot of potential for his button and flag abilities. If that was changed, I think he would be just fine.
Taz is really annoying to fight if you don't have a projectile in your kit to counter his tornado and dust cloud or at least an extension attack like Wonder Woman's lasso or Agent Smith's gun.

I think yall are over rating Arya and the reason im saying this is because only really good players make Arya look really good but when average or bad players play Arya she dont look good at all which means she is a skill based character which is a really good thing for fighting games imo if a character is only good when played by really good players then they are not OP, broken, best in the game or whatever else yall call the character imo because it takes skill to make her look good and she die earlier than every other character so she get punished for making any mistakes

Finn and T&J player here. Finn is good but is so light and his play style requires aggressiveness so he’s easily countered if they start predicting your approaches/ have priority moves or large hitboxes on their moves. His combo game is good but not unstoppable. Tom and Jerry is still fun but he feels so reliant on Jerry now and he feels almost boring because it’s either Jerry combo or hammer into paddle combo. Tom and Jerry during the Beta was my favorite character but now he feels like he should camp to get the most use of his kit and that’s lame. Game speed during the beta will always be better to me simply because everyone in 1’s now just runs back and forth and it was never like that in the beta and even in ranked!

As a stripe main for the top 100 I think you need to be around silver that’s how little we have. We have one maybe three people in the max tier with the number one being Mrdarknight. And we have few platinum it’s pretty funny.

Hi bro, I'm Brazilian, so maybe my English is horrible. I just want to say that you shouldn't feel bad about having a hard time against Marvin. I'm a main marvin (top 40 now) and although he's a weak character in terms of confirming kills, he's quite annoying to deal with, and depending on your character this is made worse

He can only get kills early with his missile, his other attacks are much more difficult to get kills. The forward aerial special doesn't even look like a special, it doesn't have any knockback, just like the upward special. Every match, Marvin needs to leave you with 120 or more damage to kill you with other moves, unless you are very high on the map and take a random projectile. Other assassins have much better finishing attacks, it's no wonder that in almost all tierlists he is at C or even lower. In a game where Joker and Finn can do 0 to kill combos and characters like Morty/Harley kill you with a combo of 3 hits or less, Marvin needs knock back buffs
Another sign that the character is not doing well is his current top 100 ranked. Few people are in high ranks with Marvin, you can check.
just adding a few things: 1 - it is also possible to finish an enemy early if he is at the edge of the map, just use the projectile from marvin's basic combo. The problem is that for this to work, the opponent has to falter. 2 - it is possible to finish the opponent using Marvin's basic combo when he is at 110/105, but he has to be at the edge of the map or the projectile has to hit a very specific angle (the problem is that it is not something constant)

I really don't understand why people think iron giant is God tier. Like bro... Just up air him and he can't do anything about it. You wanna juggle him to the top of the screen? I just started playing Arya like 2 days ago and I already have a higher win percentage than with my former main
I personally can't get behind Jason being any higher than C. Yes, he is in a better place than before, but when he can get punished for trying to jab punish a whiff, that's pretty damning to me. When he can dodge past the Joker while he's swinging his fish and STILL get hit by the same exact fish swing for trying to jab him from behind, that's not a sign of confidence for me. Fix his hurtboxes, and then I'd probably agree with B.
