Cooking the Best T Bone Steak on the Stove & Oven | Pan seared, butter basted and Baked

- Cook a steakhouse quality T Bone steak right in your own kitchen using the stove and oven! This quick 15 minute recipe shows you how to season, pan sear, baste, and bake the steak in any standard kitchen. This is one of my favorite recipes of all times! The steaks I'm using are a pound and a half T-bone steaks which have New York Strip and Filet all in one! I season with salt and pepper, baste with olive oil, butter, garlic, and rosemary. We used sauteed brussel sprouts and a tossed salad for sides. DELICIOUS!!! =D
Grill Pan
Lots of questions around the grill pan. Try this one from Cuisinart - they say oven safe to 500F so should work for you. Not sure what our brand is but this will work well for similar needs.

As I kid I always helped my mom cook now I’m 12 and j asked my mom to buy a T-bone steak so I can cook it now I’m looking forward to cooking it
That is awesome Brayan! Let us know how it turns out =) That's how I started cooking. I watched my mom and brother and couldn't wait to start cooking too.
how was the steak?
Brayan died of food poisoning I guess
@@fivestringpat oh no I’m good I cooked it, it was very good I enjoyed eating it
@@d1.l haha thanks
You threw in the rosemary and butter way too early, these go in after you flip otherwise you're just burning the butter and rosemary. Try throwing in the butter / rosemary during the list 90 seconds of searing and you'll notice a big difference in flavor.
Also another tip - the side of the steak that has the fat, you need to grab some tongs and render the fat by just pressing the fat into the pan since that takes longer to cook than the lean meat, if you look at the raw meat before you cook it, you'll notice the steaks have a solid patch of fat on one side, just press that side against the pan for an extra 45 seconds to a min to let the fat render before throwing them in the oven.
Crispy rosemary is quite tasty. You need the oils to be released into the olive oil.
It’s even better to trim some of the fat around the steaks and use in pan to fry the steaks it won’t burn has a high burn temp and add butter to that
Beautiful tips! Thank you!
I do butter and rm after I sear it. Remove it do the rm add steak for 1 min then sit out for 10
If you watch the video again, it did go on after he flipped it! How else could it then be on top???
Just cooked a T-bone using your exact steps/ingredients and it's so freaking good!!! Thank you so much for this! I'll be saving this video to my favorites for future reference! 😋😊

Well I know what's for dinner tonight 😋. This is the BEST, BEST, BESTEST T-BONE RECIPE EVER!!! Every time I do T-BONE steak I go to this recipe.
So glad I found this video! I ordered 2 t bone steaks from publix today making my husband a steak dinner as an anniversary dinner date, but needed help in knowing how to cook a t-bone 🥩 I've never cooked a steak but this video made it look easy and simple, thank you!
As he says “unreasonable amount of seasoning” all I can think of is “damn, that’s a lot of pepper...”
Perhaps it was a tad too much. I really thought hard about including that part in the video. Probably should have clipped it out. You'd be surprised how many people notice stuff like that. Yikes!
I like my steak with a good amount of salt and pepper. Everybody has their own preference. Lol
Carlos Avila-Roman yeh it was
I love a lot of pepper, but I don't use that much salt in a week! The garlic and rosemary are awesome, though. Excellent recipe.
All I think about is WASH THE STEAK 🥵🥵🥵🥵
Looks delicious. Will be trying out your recipe straight away. Some great tips. Thanks.
Awesome! I hope it turns out amazing!

Good method. My favorite too, a bit on the stove, hot pan, then into the oven. Liked!
Thank you WildWing! A great way to cook a steak if you don't have access to a grill. The crispy crust is essential for a tasty steak!!!
Gosh!! I'm craving it NOW! LOVE IT!! THANKS FOR SHARING! 🙏 ❤️ ☮️ 🙏
Hahaha glad to get you excited about steak Christine! This recipe has a good amount of flavor in it =D

It's looks wonderful,thanks gor sharing.❤️
Enjoy!
My boyfriend and I have made this recipe several times and we love it. We're making it for our anniversary tonight to pair with a nice red wine. We even get to use the rosemary from our garden which makes it extra tasty. Thanks for the great video and recipe Dmurph & Pri-Pri!
Wonderful! It is great to hear you like it so much you've made it several times and genius on the fresh herbs grown out back!
Great choice to pair it with a red wine. Which type do you like to have with steak? We're into Pino Noir or Merlot. I like a Cabernet but Pri-Pri isn't a fan. That's for when we're eating out and buying by the glass lol
This looks delicious and easy to make!! I am about to make this Right Now!!😊😊😊❤
Just cooked this...& Oh my oh my....its delicious. Just waiting on hubby to get off, & so he can taste it. Thanks so much for the idea....& he loved it!

Glad you liked it Bill. There's something so good about that Rosemary flavor infused in butter. We made a rosemary garlic butter last night to top our steaks and it brought back some good memories!
Looks delicious
Wow, it looks and smells (?) great! I’m trying now! Thanks! 👍
Hahaha how did it smell?! 😂🔥🔥🥩
DMurph & Pri-Pri,
Smelled delicious yummy steak! 😄 Believe or not I haven’t been eating steak for a long time, many years! You’ve reminded me of what I used to love. Thanks!
I kinda failed my first T-bone try, since no butter in my refrigerator, but it was still good! I just purchased another one and butter! I hope I can make one as close to as you’ve made! 😁
You are a very good cook! 👍
I am going to try this tonight, I have two t bone steaks and two iron pans to sear them in and they can go directly in the oven! I honest could smell this video lol lol. I can't wait, looks delicious! Thank you!
Loved when you said, “yes it’s ready!”

OMG! I am watching this video at work at 9 in the morning and I'm ready to clock out, to buy 2 large T-bones and get to cooking. Know what I'm having for dinner.
Hahaha, let's get this Friday going!!! Enjoy =)
So simple thanks
Good video. Thanks
Thanks. im going to try this today
It’s been a few years since I’ve last had a t bone steak. Ever since I’ve first tried Ribeye, I hardly wanted any other kind. But now I’m heavily considering trying a t bone again.
Awesome job!
Nice job!
i will be trying this tonight with my son. I can't wait.
How did it go
😋
Looks great. Thanks.
Thank you!
I tried this recipe minutes after I watched and my steak turned out delicious! Thank you so much.

Thank you so much! Haha I loved your comment and it brightened my day =) Cheers!
DMurph & Pri-Pri 😁🌾
Following this guy made me cook my favorite best steak, thanx
Great to hear and enjoy! The garlic rosemary butter is an awesome topping.
Man, you mama taught you well....LOL I've tried your recipe and it worked out really well. I have been trying to find the easiest and quickest way to cook my steaks but with no success. I've always seem to overcook and taste horrible. This was simple and did the trick. Thanks!
Looks good
Man that's the way you make your steak. So perfect and juicy. Loved it. Thanks for sharing a great recipe. Good luck. :)
Thanks man! I like to pack the recipes with lots of flavor to add to the experience. Glad you enjoyed it =)
I like your warning about seasoning differences between pans and grills pending which you use. I once tried a ham in a slow cooker but as traditional ham I stuck it with cloves. Boy o boy what came out of that slow cooker even my greedy always peckish dog ran away from
Bombed by cloves aye Greg? I haven't done much with cloves but they're used heavily in Indian recipes. Do you do anything with helicopters? I noticed the profile pic.
Thank u for sharing. My first time cooking steak and I used ur recipe. It came out delicious. We have stay at home orders due to Corona virus so I am experimenting. I will definitely follow u. Thanks once again.
Awesome! This is one of my favorite ways to cook steak. I'm thrilled the recipe spiced up your stay at home time! The oven helps to get to that perfect internal temp and garlic and rosemary add such a good flavor =D
Hey this looks great going to try this tonight for St Patrick’s Day T-Bones! Thanks for the video.
I hope the T-bones turned out great and happy belated St. Patrick's Day!
I follow this recipe today and wow the result is good although I don’t have Rosemarie I just used garlic and butter but is also so good already
Wonderful! Garlic butter is also another great way to add some extra flavor to steak. Herbs like rosemary and thyme help but aren't necessary for a tasty steak =)
Thank you I love it
Going home to make this for the third time now. It's the only way I cook steak now (unless we have a cookout). Pri Pri is a Beautiful Young Lady 👍✌
Hahah this is a completely unnecesary comment.
Great video and I appreciate you responding to most, if not all comments. Well-directed and thorough in your explanations. Will be trying this Tuesday or Wednesday night with 4 tbones. Any suggestion how to cook 4?
Thank you Shawn! For a stove top, 4 is a bit tough. You can sear two at a time and then put all of them in the oven at once. I’ve done that before and it turned out well. You can cover the first two in tin foil so they don’t lose heat while you’re searing your last two.
Great job. Thanks
Glad you liked the steak video! I appreciate the kudos!
Thank you for that lesson.I'm going to follow those instructions this weekend. My cooking acumen consist of 2 beef hotdogs in water.
Haha awesome! Time to step it up =) This is fairly easy and will taste way better than hotdogs!
Thanks for sharing. This is very useful.
Glad it was helpful!
Oops 😬 thanks for sharing, happy new year to you and yours.✌️💙
Thanks for enjoying the video! Happy new year JoAnna!
I’m cooking a t-bone for my mom, dad and brother for mother’s day and that looks bootiful!!! I hope my mama likes it owo
Awesome! I hope it goes well!!! T-Bone is an delicious steak =)
LMBO...... Bootiful.... I thought I was the only one who talked crazy like this.... I'm joked out.... Welcome to the club 😂😁
T-bone steak was on sale so I had to get, never cooked it before and after this video and me cooking it, it was amazing and I can’t wait to come back to this video and make it again 🤣
Awesome recipe 😋
Thank you! It’s one of my favorites 😁
You did a great job, I'm going to try it tonight.
Thank you Ariel! How did the steak turn out?
It turn out great my husband and I love it.
Awesome! It's not too complicated and adds so much flavor! Glad you guys loved it =D
mans thats some good looking meat, never had cooked like that but i think ill try it
This is a flavorful/easy recipe! I did a lot of grilling before trying this out and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I wouldn't say this replaces grilling a steak but it is a nice substitute. Enjoy!
First stake I cooked - Delicious
My steak turned out amazingly good 😉 Thank you for the tip.
Awesome! This is one of my favorite methods!
Love it❤❤❤
That’s what I like it the best👍🏻👍🏻
T-Bone all the way!
That's a pretty good looking steak, one of my favorite methods as well. I always used to try cooking them on the grill alone but pan seared turns out more flavorful and tender imo.
Thank you Carlos! Yes you can control the flavor pretty well in a pan. I used to do only grill in the past but now I mix it up. Glad you liked the video!
❤ awesome love it
I’m so hungry right now 😋 looks so good!
Thank you Daisy! These videos are tough to watch around dinner time lol!

I was looking for an Alternative to grilling on my gas grill during the cold weather here in Wash St. Strait forward recipe ..Plan on making this w my Cast Iron Pans later today ..
I can tell the flavor that will come out of this once complete will be stellar.
Sounds great! I hope it turned out amazing!
Going and make this right now yummmmmmy Blessings new subscriber
oh thats beautiful t bone steaks yummm
Lookin good!
Thank you so much!!!
Wow. Not even exaggerating, this was one of the best steaks I’ve ever made
Haha awesome! This is still one of my top recipes! Easy and full of flavor.
Ouick question: what if you prefer your steak medium-well? How much longer should you keep it in the oven?
I just bought T Bone steaks the other day and mines be good, but I will be trying this way with the rosemary. They look good
It's a nice way to change up your steak recipe and is easy to do in a kitchen. Rosemary adds a real nice flavor too! I put it with most of my beef recipes now and have two plants growing at home.
Gonna make this don’t have rosemary but I will improvise !!!!!
Ooh! So excited for you Bianca =) It still tastes really good even without rosemary. Some people just use salt and pepper and love it!
Just made a tbone, it was delicious, Yummy Yummy get in ma belly 👍😀👍
Haha, glad you liked it!
