Glad you're using the same sprayer as I just bought, Titan 410. The 440 seems to be a little more popular but I'm just a typical DIY homeowner and am learning w/the 410. Am excited about the learning experience and you've been a real help for me. Thanks.
Thanks Chris, timing on this video is remarkable. I'm part way through on a house (brick) with 5 gables, german siding, about 75 yrs. old. Lot of repairs to the old german siding, which is done. As an adder, I advised the customer to let me apply a primer to all the siding rather than spot primer on the newly repaired siding. Normally, we would roller/brush but I'm interested to see the next video on how you're spraying this job. Can't wait!!!!!
You have everything on you but paint! Just picking bro, one painter to another. I like seeing how y'all do things, there's always a different or better way to do things. So I be watching y'all!
What nap length would you recommend for painting a 5v metal roof? I am guessing about an inch nap. Paint type for that? Regular roller or the ones made for 5v metal roofs?
In your professional opinion, would you paint the house and then paint the facia board trim if it's a different color? Or paint the facia boards first then the house? Why for whichever process you do first? Thank you for sharing your professional opinions and demonstrating this time-consuming job - especially for us DIY'ers.
Doesn't spraying the paint, cover with less than half the mills of a roller? Is it a better value to the home owner to have it rolled? When the home is washed, how long is to long, to wait and paint it
Jesus Is lord spraying gives you much nicer finish. And it is easily 25 times faster, maybe even more. A medium sized room you can spray in 10 minutes or even less. So just imagine how the difference is when spraying the whole outside of a house. Results with spraying are so much better, color is more even. Also spraying you get more mil, and you consume more product. Well worth it. Only thing that sucks is the masking and prep work. That’s the video I want to see.
Any notes on why you left the trim for the end when painting interior you recommend to paint the trim/molding first leave the walls to the end . Thank you
Hey I’m not sure if this matters but I had a contractor install the garage sealer trim with nails and just painted over them to match the house. Can this rust over time without caulking than painting over it?
I live in a 4 unit 3 story townhouse. the building needs to be painted and some areas of stucco repaired. What are the things that we need to be sure are included in the bid. We had one guy come out and want 50,000 to do the building. is it possible that is a reasonable number? I don't just want to take the lowest bid as I want the job done RIGHT for the least price. Any recommendations? Is there a formula based on the size of the building? I know the amount of stucco repair and prep will have to be taken into account but, I just want to have an Idea of what is fair for the job before taking any other bids....Thanks
I love this channel and really appreciate the wisdom. I just have to point out that your videos have mostly been newer homes with very little age deterioration. Idaho is not the northeast, with it's plethora of homes dating back to the 18th & 19th centuries. Painters who deal with old colonials are tested a lot more than painters in Idaho working on homes from the 90s. I'd love to see you get into the really difficult prepping work on water-rotted wood, trim and difficult to reach spots. I love those Abatron materials and would love to see you address an issue requiring their use. Perhaps one of your guys gauges into a huge cavity of rotted wood in a column. Then what? How deep do you dig before needing a carpenter? Would you do an Abatron repair if it wasn't included in the contract? Just curious since I work on a 100 year old hotel in upstate NY. Thanks.
Yeah, seems all the projects are simple , no obstructions cherry picked. Give us a challenging house. Rotted wood, tons of shrubs around the whole house and other obstacles. Your work is great but gives the viewers something more realistic. Thx
Hi Chris, what paint do you use for roof vents/pipes/flashing ... looks like the prior painters just brushed something on but it was not done all that well...the roof is concrete tile in a very faded terra cotta type of color. Thanks for making these videos, I’m going to paint in the next two weeks
I've done commercial residential painting/ other work but you still amaze me with all the tips and tricks you offer! always good to see a different perspective from how another painter does it! Awesome vids keep up the good work!
Hey Chris! Thanks for the great videos, very helpful. Question: I'm getting ready to spray my house with an airless sprayer. I have vinyl soffits that I DON'T want to paint. Should I mask them? Or will a paint shield work? I would appreciate your input!
I forget which video of yours it was in, but you said unit that you use masking tape to save money over the blue tape. That might make sense for a contractor but DIY’ers should not be using it. It is really hard to get off and leaves a residue if left on for more than a day. Blue tape and frog tape are the only painting tapes I will ever use again. Most of your tips are great and I really appreciate the videos. They were definitely a help to my project. My only complaint was the tip on the masking tape so wanted to offer that feedback.
Thanks, great series. Gonna do my house solo next month. Looking forward to the next video. Happy Father's Day!
Thank you God.... I have been waiting for an exterior repaint for months.. I love this omg!

I have a small painting company in Hawaii. Videos are great, been watching for a while now. Always pick up a new tip.🤙
Hi Chris! Thanks for sharing your painting techniques. I share them with my crew and we have become better painters.
i like that tape tool attachment. leaves a clean line and it prevents tape cuts or burns on your hands if you work fast.

Oh man. When this series ends I'll have to get off my lazy butt and actually paint my house. Quick, make another video Chris!

Did he seriously do all that prep work in 1 day?? That doesn't seem possible.
My amigos would’ve been done with that house before this video is finished.
