I’m soooo glad large scale is making somewhat of a comeback! Us X-maxx owners have been waiting for something like this for a very long time. Yeah, the Sledge was cool…..just not X-maxx cool. This is like the Sledge and X-maxx had a baby and fed it very well, absolute BEAST!
Us xmaxx owner been waiting for something like this??.. umm. Yea us real 8s owners have Xmaxx, kraton and outkast 8s. Dbxl 2.0 convert to 8s. Where have you been.
I do enjoy watching you do these videos too! I'm more of the crawler person but like you said, every once in a while its fun to go out and bash! It gets the blood and adrenaline pumping trying to control something at those speeds.
Wow Matt this video is on a whole new level and I’m only half way through. Amazing shots and great to see traxxas going even bigger🤣 keep up the amazing work!
That was one absolutely awesome video. It was entertaining, informative, not only ten minutes like others do. Following you for almost a year , now I know it was a great decision to subscribe. Please more of this giant beast 👍
Im really loving the large scale rc stuff. I have an Axial Yeti XL kit and dtive the hell out of it. Hopefully more companies come out with more large scale.
Loving your Scale Bashers Guild excursions Matt… awesome camerawork and sound track in the middle section and love the real world driving in the later section… that def looks more like my driving!
Absolutely phenomenal job on this video you are getting very good at these release videos it's going to be hard for anyone to match what you have done hands down
Great stuff Matt. I especially liked the running footage. I've always said "you should be the guy for rc promo/marketing footage". You tend to make everything look awesome.
I really enjoyed this video Matt, great review. I've got in my collection of bashers an original E Revo on 6s as well as an HPI Savage Flux also on 6s, A Team Associated MGT big block nitro and my Baja 5B SS. I have to admit the Baja has been a shelf queen so far. Im currently at 23 vehicles so far including everything from 1/24th scale (3) to 1/5th scale (1) while everything else is 1/10th and 1/8th scale . Thanks to your review of the XRT it looks like I now have another vehicle for the never ending wish list.
Thank you for this video, nice introduce overall. Looks very nice and as much i love my X-Maxx this temptating strongly 😂 that cinematic bashing section is pure art and those autumn colors looked sooooo good. Was fun hear your laughing out loud during bash and it tells how fun this size cars are. Well done part time "Bashing guilder's build". 😃💪
Loved the review. I think you have some of the best camerawork and editing in the RC scene. I love the look of this vehicle, even though I lean towards 1:10 and 1:8 scale. I've been into bashing since the 80's way back with the Marui Big Bear, my first RC vehicle. I think I'm in the minority of bashers who prefer brushed when bashing. This has me contemplating going into the larger scale vehicles.
@@scalebuildersguild Thanks for the great content you provide for the community. I think a lot of people forget what goes into shooting and editing content to post.
Was surprised to see you get one of these as it is really outside your normal "zone" but Im so glad to see you enjoy going fast and even consider keeping this truggy long term. I was LITERALLY about to go out and buy my first X-Maxx today...now I feel I should wait.
Although scale is my main focus, I love exploring other aspects of the RC world, and sharing with my subscribers. I think Traxxas appreciates my videos and I know that in turn they might get new customers. Thanks for watching!
I've decided to buy my first RC truck and I went with this model I've watch a ton of videos and seen a ton of crazy people just bashing the heck out of this massive beast of a machine its defiantly not the RC car I grew up playing with I absolutely can't wait to try mine out I wanted to say thanks for the detailed review and yes thanks for not just bashing it but I will say that makes me fill better about the quality of the truck this is most likely a start to a very expensive hobby for me thanks for uploading the video and sharing your thoughts
This is a cool vehicle. It is nice to see large scale getting some love. I can’t fathom spending $1000 on an RC though. I have bought real cars for less. Looks like an awfully good time though. Your laughter while driving it really conveys that feeling. It does seem very easy to drive
I agree to an extent. It is a hobby. Kinda like golf, fishing, and hunting which I've got friends that have thousands upon thousands wrapped up into those hobbies. People spend thousands on bicycles to ride down the road when they've got a car. So I can see this xrt being worthy of that price tag. Build quality is pretty amazing especially seeing all these videos of people absolutely thrashing this thing. Can have alot of fun just about anywhere with one of these things.
Found the greatest way to wake up early on a Friday morning - watching your new vid !! - once again you nailed the music/song to go with the video - perfect match - even got a chuckle how you involved the software upgrades ! always cracks me up how people complain about that procedure but also complain about issues that can be corrected by the software and they don't do it - Thanks for starting my day off right !! Now to figure out how to sneak a new XRT into the house !! lol
No problem with having fun and being the Basher, always nice to have variety! Though honestly, I am subscribed for your artistic abilities more than your driving.
Great review. Just hearing you laugh while driving it means it's worth it. I have a Senton that I like to rip around when not crawling. Great way to relax and not get burnt out in the hobby. Gonna need a second job to get one of these and a SCX6...
Thats an awesome new truck u got there matt! Ive been wantin an xmaxx, but u may have me sold on this one lol. Im more of a crawler guy, but bashin is fun from time to time. Always great to see u bring in new releases on the channel, no matter if its crawler or basher related
Outstanding. Thank you for this review! I have a very similar driving style and I very much appreciate your review style as well, so seeing a vehicle like THIS reviewed by YOU - well it’s the best of all worlds for me. Thanks again and have a wonderful day!
Your action shots of this truck were some of the best I have ever seen, great shots with great editing made this video a thing of beauty. I don't own a RC car yet but I enjoy watching videos like this so you now have a new subscriber.
Awesome video! Action sequences were epic! I absolutely love how far RC cars have come since the mid 80's with Tamiya etc. ( showing my age lol) The durability and power these things have out of the box is mind blowing!! I own both the X-Maxx 8s and XRT and absolutely love them. Highly recommend both and the smile you'll have will be huge! I'm far from a fanboy of Traxxas as I own a stack of other cars from Arrma etc but these large scale electric rigs are pretty good out of the box. Tough, durable and easy (at least for me) to work on and parts are cheap!! A Hobbywing Max-6 esc is a must do as it wakes the trucks up a lot!! They attract a lot of attention too...just don't hit anyone with them...
I changed the gearing on my UDR to the maximum ‘recommended’ by Traxxas on the pinion. I don’t remember what I put in. It’s stupid scary to drive now. Tons of fun but scary for sure. If I didn’t have the XO-1, UDR and an SCX6 (hopefully a second soon) I’d snag up one of these XRT’s in a heartbeat. Thanks for the killer video as usual!!
Power line trails rock for high speed fun with the 1/8 plus stuff. Size does matter, I made a Kyosho truggy into a fast fun speed run/bash machine. This could be a sweet upgrade
Agreed. Love scale rigs but every now and then ya gotta rip. Kick up some dirt, air it out. Puts a really big smile to your face. Totally enjoyed the video.
With all the laughs it sounded like you sure enjoyed driving it. And that’s what it’s all about! Been wanting an XMAXX for a while, this might replace it on the top of my wish list.
I love scale, I love bashers, speed runners, large scale. I spend a good bit of time with my 7 year old building out scale rigs for us together, adding drivers, etc. I also spend a good bit of time pushing large piles of dirt around on my property with a backhoe so I can do big air stunts with my other toys :)
Great looking truck from Traxxas. Glad to see you bashing Matt. It definitely has its place. I enjoy both aspects of the rc world. You really should try to drive an Xmas. It’s a totally awesome experience and a great handling monster truck. Hope to see more videos of you and your new toy.
This is one awesome truck! It reminds me of a 1/5 scale Traxxas Erevo 2.0 if they ever made one. I think that this will end up being the best 1/5 scale truck out there. Great review and action shots👍
Great running footage you killed it. Get a bigger work shop cause Traxxas is going to be sending you all the new release’s and yes l know they do already. 👍🏼👊🏻💪🏻

Yeah you took it easy and Greg did too. Wait till Kevin get a hold one, who know what’s gonna break. Take it with the baja when you meet up with Kpop. 👍
About frakkin' time. As much as I enjoy my X-MAXX (w/ Wide MAXX Kit), it's always had too high a CoG. In many ways, the X-MAXX is better than the Kraton...but, in many ways, the Kraton is better than the X-MAXX. When the Sledge was released, I thought to myself, "Now, all we need is an X-MAXX-sized version of this, but with more durable X-MAXX-like parts.". Typically, I worry about 'entities' listening in on my thoughts. That's why I normally wear my aluminum foil hat (just kidding). But, in this case, I can forgive Traxxas. My only question (to Traxxas) is, "WHY did you wait so long?"
If its as durable as an xmaxx it should be killer & a good platform. Would be nice to see a better servo. Some of these ive seen last a short time and then others a long time. Great video !
Never been interested in bashing but this thing really has my attention 🤔🤔😍. You never know i might end up like you Matt and get myself a 5B as well 😜😂. Awesome video, you handle that truck like it was a Scalextric 😉👍🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Ever since i got the losi gasser 5T 2.0, i lost a little bit of interest on my 1/10 1/8 fleet, then after a year i got the Xmaxx..now im gunning on the Xrt👍..big scale Rc is just on a different level of enjoyment and robustness..just lost a lot of money replacing broken parts on a 1/10-1/8 scale platform..this Bigger scale are just like tanks..
Wow I love my losi and arrmas but holy hell traxxas’ new trucks look stupid tough, I mean like a generational leap. The way your tire hit the tree, would’ve snapped most if not all other arms
Sickest RC action segments on RUclips period!
Wow! That's such a huge compliment coming from you! Thanks man!

Great review per usual. Nice to see someone being sensible with one of these rigs instead of straight up abusing it.
I completely agree!!
Thank you! Although, it's a basher... it's not fun for me to completely trash something... just not how I roll!

When Traxxas says you can not brake this, that its the ultimate basher, people will test it out
Glad to receive someone’s input that actually has it on hand.
That thing is a beast. I love the way it throws dirt as it launches away and those jumps are so awesome
