In all my time of being in fandoms surrounding animated shows, I’m no stranger to what’s to be expected from the internet. In my honest opinion, people shouldn’t be making NSFW fan art of characters from animated TV shows aimed at a younger audience. One major reason is because it attracts predators. Most of the characters in animated cartoons are minors. People ages 13 and older on average use the internet and are in fandoms online. Predators may use fandoms as a way to get close to minors and groom them. A second big reason is that it normalizes a lot of criminal behavior in real life (PDFilia, zoophilia, S/A, incest, etc). As I stated earlier that a majority of characters in animated cartoons are minors. Another thing is that some characters in animation are talking animals. My third and final reason backs up my first two: Studies have shown that children being exposed to NSFW content at a young age can mess up their development and perception of the world as well as lead to troubling behaviors when they get older. I would love to hear your insight on this topic and hope you can cover it in the future.

The shipping situation is bad. I don't really like shipping. The only shipping in MHA i have ever did was IidaMina and that was for an Crossover AU. After that the ship kinda stuck with me because and such an enjoyable time writing and I liked using the ship to explore these characters were becuase they don't have much screentime. It's a fun writing exercise to imagine how some characters work as a couple. I came away with the experience with good knowledge about how to write romantic relationships and for that IidaMina has a special place in my heart. But then I see BakuDeku shippers and then it makes me feel ashamed to even ship ANY character together. I have gotten over that but it still hurts. Amazing video and glad to see more non-Bakudeku MHA content. Seriously, I can't go five minutes without recommended MHA content being BakuDeku. Keep it up! 💖💖
I've been in the fandom since before season 3 came out and honestly, the fandom has always been this way. Though to a lesser extent in the beginning. I now own one manga box set and really like it. But I honestly don't mind the fandom anymore (probably because I've been in a worse fandom at a younger age) and just enjoy the art and fanfictions. Also, while I'm a multishipper, I love Sero x Todoroki the most and if anybody knows good fanfiction with that ship, please recommend it to me.

I enjoy My Hero Academia, quite a bit. It was an odd hyperfixating of mine and I jumped back on board when it was ending. I was never on the bad side of the fandom, did I immerse with the bad side fandom when I joined (I had a love for Mr. Compress, now I really like the Meta Liberation Army. Oh, I love to analyze the group.) I was there for… the interesting stuff and it was not fun. It's sad how the fandom is seen now and people are still fighting over the ending. To be honest, the series (specifically the anime) fell off in season four, and the manga fell off after chapter 291, but that’s a personal opinion and its okay if you like it!

The amount of hate that I got for shipping Kacchako (Bakugou/Uraraka) was crazy 💀 …like I’m *not* sorry that I like the “angry boi x sunshine girl” trope and I love the few interactions they had. Its not disgusting at all in my opinion deku literally compares bakugo to all might and how their in his life "All might was my hero but you were the one truly in my life!" Also he has said that he has never let bakugos bad outshine the good and the fact that he values bakugo more than the man that he's idolized his ENTIRE life.
@@starryami_ Most people say it's disgusting because it was primarily abusive (And before you say it isn't or wasn't, Horikoshi literally describes Bakugo as an abusive egoist in the analysis, and the first page of the manga is Bakugo clocking him in the face.) they're only on good terms now due to Bakugo realizing how much of a bad person he was, and that comes from guilt. Deku admired Bakugo, but still very much hated the mistreatment, he even sees Uraraka the same way, calling her his hero. So it's not that Deku WASNT bothered, far from actually, but he acknowledges that Bakugo is powerful and admires that.

ever since ive been exposed to proship/anti hell (god kill me), grown out of fandom discourse in general and got at least somewhat of A Life the concept of ship discourse just seems so miniscule and funny in comparison. the antidote to fandom discourse is actually experiencing other media whose primary audience isnt children and realizing that the thing people online *love* to argue about is actually crazily oversimplified, way more nuanced than ever presented, and also completely stupid. fandom discourse is genuinely one of the worst ways to debate or even just think about art in general. youre better off learning media analysis from Game Theory than you ever will on tiktok about how shipping bakudeku makes you an abuser, and i wont even get into what proshippers say about anything because its genuinely wild and my head hurts
This is probably one of my favorite animes ever, but only because it was one of the first animes I've ever seen and it was what I bonded with my dad over. I love the characters and the pacing, but I'll admit even as a fan, there are MANY problems with the show. The fandom being the biggest one.

i haven't finished the series, but they are friends and on good terms.
He doesn't hate it, but I agree that the ship is kind of disgusting in my opinion.
Its not disgusting at all in my opinion deku literally compares bakugo to all might and how their in his life "All might was my hero but you were the one truly in my life!" Also he has said that he has never let bakugos bad outshine the good and the fact that he values bakugo more than the man that he's idolized his ENTIRE life.
@@starryami_ Most people say it's disgusting because it was primarily abusive (And before you say it isn't or wasn't, Horikoshi literally describes Bakugo as an abusive egoist in the analysis, and the first page of the manga is Bakugo clocking him in the face.) they're only on good terms now due to Bakugo realizing how much of a bad person he was, and that comes from guilt. Deku admired Bakugo, but still very much hated the mistreatment, he even sees Uraraka the same way, calling her his hero. So it's not that Deku WASNT bothered, far from actually, but he acknowledges that Bakugo is powerful and admires that.

ever since ive been exposed to proship/anti hell (god kill me), grown out of fandom discourse in general and got at least somewhat of A Life the concept of ship discourse just seems so miniscule and funny in comparison. the antidote to fandom discourse is actually experiencing other media whose primary audience isnt children and realizing that the thing people online *love* to argue about is actually crazily oversimplified, way more nuanced than ever presented, and also completely stupid.
fandom discourse is genuinely one of the worst ways to debate or even just think about art in general. youre better off learning media analysis from Game Theory than you ever will on tiktok about how shipping bakudeku makes you an abuser, and i wont even get into what proshippers say about anything because its genuinely wild and my head hurts
This is probably one of my favorite animes ever, but only because it was one of the first animes I've ever seen and it was what I bonded with my dad over. I love the characters and the pacing, but I'll admit even as a fan, there are MANY problems with the show. The fandom being the biggest one.
I agree,for me. Im totally okay with mha ships(just let those disgusting ships like the incest,adult x minor and others get away from me. No offense,healthy ocxcanon ships that didnt involve anything illegal,your fine)
I feel like any shipping of the MHA characters is weird, since they’re mostly kids…
One thing I will say though, I feel like a lot of the hate that the MHA fandom gets is because of homophobia more than the actual issues with the ships…
