People tend to have a bias towards more 'sketchy' artstyles that the 2023 piece has, I've noticed. Nothing wrong with having a preference, but the absolute meltdown some people have as a reaction to not liking certain artstyles and calling them "regressive" is insane sometimes. For example the approach to drawing hair and the white neck piece have improved very decently! This is my personal theory but I think this might stem from the observation that the 2024 artstyle the artist grew into is one that the internet tends to associate with animation meme and learning fandom artists, which sadly still have stigma placed onto them. And because tiktok is where bullies like to pool, all the mean people that used to make 'this youtube animator sucks' compilations now moved onto a new platform to bully artists associated with those artstyles there instead. The more sketch-like 2023 piece lacks the 'stereotypical cleanliness' that is associated with the learning artists, and that's why it's perhaps preferred by tiktok, because it's less associative. Just a speculation, but one based off of some history of old art drama I've watched when I was younger. Tiktok is simply experiencing its youtube art commentators toxicity phase.

I think a male rival would’ve been interesting. Not even making senpai gay or bi but maybe they take senpais time away from school and Ayano finds that bad. Maybe the rival would be against dating, convincing senpai to never settle down scaring ayano. It would’ve limited you as you cannot go into the male facilities. The best way to get “rid” of him is the suitor elimination
