We had a good run boys, RIP to the hemi you will be missed 🫡
Umh you there still gonna be there!!??
@@thatv8life186 what
@That V8 Life we all can’t afford the 6.4 but you’re clearly a TRUE Mopar fan pissing all over someone with a lower end model. Douchebag.
@That V8 Life lmao chill
@That V8 Life clown 😂
It's not going to be the same without the hemi v8s going forward, That's what dodge is known for.
Totally agree with you, I’m scared for their future lol
There is no future without a V8
The Hemi is only leaving the car scene it seems.dodge says the ice hemi will stay in the Ram trucks for long while yet.
I would think Dodge will have a 4 door sedan offering. The current 4 door Charger sells more than the Challenger.
Yes the Challenger should continue to Compete with the Mustang & Camaro… With that said, as long as the Mustang & Camaro have a V8 engine available, the Challenger should continue to offer a V8 as well. The Hurricane Engine should Not be the Only option……
Realistically, I'm really worried that dodge keeps making these claims of all these cars they'll be introducing, yet we've only seen a concept car of the charger. With the charger and challenger ending with the 23 model year, I seriously wonder if they're going to not replace them for 24. Typically a model year begins sales in the fall of the prior year, so technically were only 6-8 months away from when we should start seeing pre production of whatever they're doing in 24 to replace them.
I think you nailed it though by saying the new ladder chassis durrango will probably end up being the cop car replacement. Absolutely. That's going to be the new fleet car, along with rental car Hornets. I do not see a bright future for dodge unless they keep gas powered options around, and have a damn good replacement for the current challenger and charger. Otherwise their volume is going to dive .
It’s crazy it feels like they just willingly ended everything. They sold the same car for 15!years and didn’t change much especially the last 10 years. They could’ve updated this car 1 last time for us. Feels like they just profited and shifted it’s fanbase. Nobody that wants a hemi is buying electric anytime soon.
Always take your EV on your camping trips. They make a great fire-starter!
I wanna see more of that built 5.7!! Been waiting on you to upload some content on that!! I’m sure we all would love to see it!! Anyways, love your content, always informative and awesome! Keep up the awesome work my G. Much love coming from northeast Portland Oregon!!!
They could have done really well with cylinder deactivation, hybrid V8 setup. Still keep the V8 but get better gas mileage to please the emissions people.
No it makes sense to go all EV now if you’re a company if you want to stay competitive. People like to pretend gas is an unlimited resource
@@logicbomb8977 People like to pretend electric cars are more efficient, that the rate of charge isn’t that bad, that on long trips with scarce recharge stations isn’t a problem. Rich rebuilds recently debunked that theory. He had to borrow someone’s charger from a hotel to just make the trip. He had major anxiety with it. And towing? Forget it.
@@destruxandexploze2552 Mind telling me how long electric cars have been being developed? Maybe 30 years? How long have gas engines been being developed? Over 120 years? Just imagine where these cars will be in another 10 years. There are already low 9 second electric cars that are readily available, and commuter cars with 300 miles of range. Give it a few years.
You know steam cars had really great acceleration and high top speedo do you see anything of them around today? Electrics are totally dependent on the power grid and powerplants behind the power grid. They maybe fast but they are inefficient without range or duration. They are nothing but batteries and wheels and with rolling black outs happening they will either bring the whole system down or create massive fossil fuel use trying to power the grid.
@@joemaloney1019 More than 99% of cars on the road today are gas powered, meaning the power grid isn’t “overloaded”. Electric cars are more convenient than gas powered cars for those who drive 300 miles a week and have a garage. They require zero maintenance, don’t have to pay for gas, and sometimes are faster. Obviously for someone who tows often or drives long distances it wouldn’t be convenient. That is why electric engines aren’t replacing gas powered engines as they are simply an option. Doesn’t work for you? Don’t buy one.
You seem awfully worried about the power grid for some reason. Take a look around your house. What inside of your house other than the stove and washing machine is electric? How about in your garage. Are all of your power tools gas powered, and if not, tell me why. Every time you plug those in you are using power from the power grid, and believe it or not, the power grid is still running.
Thank you for making an actual unbiased prediction on the future lineup without complaining or whining through the whole video like every other mopar channel
Great content and good thoughts on their future offerings..
Bring back the Dart. I don't need the Hornet; it's too big and too heavy.
Also: imagine if they brought back the Monaco nameplate as a full-size sedan, with that Hurricane I6TT. That should satisfy everyone who wants four doors and room to breathe...
It was a good run while it lasted.
Great job thanks 😊
great video, thank you. Stellantis needs to offer a fossil fuel version of the next Charger and Challenger. Go ahead and offer a full EV version but please don't divorce yourself from those that don't wish to gamble on EV's.
Yeah, I wish for that, but unfortunately they probably won't tbh, but the Challenger and Charger being EV is just feels so wrong tbh and a mistake on Dodge that will backfire on them in the long run
Well, the next Challenger will be gasoline-powered, and I think the reported explorations of how to adapt the "all electric" Charger to a gas powertrain are a contingency in case they're demanded by the consumers. The engines exist, so being ready just in case will beat getting caught flat-footed without what the market demands for another two years or so.
@@eastsydecash4097 I'm a diehard mopar man and I feel I'm watching the death of mopar at the hands of people who just don't get it.
They should keep mopar making their own engines as Fiat sucks at it.
RIP mopar.
The Hurricane i6 engine is typing…
@@phonebackup8132 It's not even Fiat anymore. They merged with Peugeot, and im starting to wonder which side is pulling the strings.
Hello Marspeed. I have watched your presentations religiously since the beginning. I have also watched your videos featuring special editions of Dodge Challengers, especially the last call editions like the Swinger, Shakedown, King Daytona, Super Bees, Black Ghost, Shaker. But, you have never featured any admiring story on the 2020 50th Anniversary Edition with ONLY 70 produced in gorgeous Gold-Rush color, especially the 392 T/A with 7 extra horsepower and 7 Ib.Ft of torque. 3D dashboard lightning, hood-pins, factory installed Mopar Cold-air intake and filter, factory installed oil separator (Catch-Can), and both front and rear factory-installed Antisway bars and rods. This is a unique special edition that's worth your time and attention, plus the least special edition production of once in a life time. Don't you think?
Dodge will be fine, I just wish they would expand the lineup. Just twenty years ago there were eleven vehicles to choose from.
Agreed, 100%. They have so many old nameplates they could bring back, hopefully some of those will make a return with this larger lineup that the CEO is hinting at. I think the Stealth nameplate would be perfect for an electric sports coupe or something like that.
@@alexanderallison584 the stealth would also be a pretty cool little midengine sports car with either the hybrid turbo 4 cylinder (made more powerful than it is in the hornet) or the hurricane engine in it. an SRT stealth should definitely have the HO Hurricane engine in it
Durango is gonna be built atleast a few more years
Really hoping they give us a Hybrid or Electric Avenger back.
Beginning of the end. But I really hope they bring back a better dart with the racetrack taillights
Tango Uniform is what happens next with EV's. Dodge will go under with the proposed lineup.
Why dont they make a journey/ durango with GC platform next to the body on frame durango/ grand durango based on the wagoneer platform?
Hopefully Dodge still offers a sedan police vehicle. Around here the state police loves their Chargers.
Dodge has no future, if they go all electric what is the point in buying a dodge instead of a Tesla .
I heard you can only use telsa charging stations if you buy a telsa,,, you can’t just go to any random charging station not sure if that is true or not though
And people complain about planned obsolescence now lol. Just wait till, EVs are forced into the mainstream and they’ll be as bad as phones.
Who is charging the EVs?
The power grid is strained and putting more on it with vehicles is ludicrous. Planes omit more pollutants the cars so when are the planes going EV/EP. I just refuse to purchase a vehicle that when the government says stop we must comply. They will just shut the computers down and then you stuck. Anyone talking about computer hackers. These are no more than a remote control for the highways.
Not hearing the roar of the V8 from the Charger and Challenger would feel so weird tbh, I also fear what they'll do with the Viper if they ever revive that name, I just want to see a Viper and Hellcat hybrid engine, but judging Dodge, Viper will be their first electric Super Muscle car, all this is a misdirection from Dodge tbh, and the same with Chevrolet and GM with whatever they'll do with the Camaro, but at least Mustang is okay, for now
Youre naive if you believe theres no future in high performance Dodge EVs.
What I would like to see is a new retro Dart, with new hurricane 6.
I would buy a hybrid, a full electric? No way, for many many reasons. Hope they make some good hybrids while they update the power grid and figure out how to charge in less than an hour !
Toyota said they will not be switching to EV because it makes no sense globally. They are going to continue to develop the hybrid power train and the power trains they have now
If dodge comes correct with build quailing then they’ll be fine. It’s the Chrysler brand I’m worried about.
Put the twin turbo hurricane in the Hornet, and you get the "Murder Hornet"
The current Durango needs updated not replaced with Jeep sheet metal and the rotary transmission control. Great job on the video.
I'll come out there and say that the Jeep-based Durango is my design. The reason it's being speculated is because Durango owners want to tow, and putting it on a Jeep platform will take the towing capability from 8,700 to 10,000 pounds or more depending if it's based off of the Grand Cherokee/L, or the Grand Wagoneer.
@@NiharM77 badge engineering is what put Leyland Cars and the old General Motors out of business. I hope that Stellantis is better than that.
@@RVPartsGerald I wouldn't say it's the rebadging. It's consistently putting out poor quality product. Also you can have similar underpinnings with variations in style. VW does this just fine.
@@RVPartsGerald Everybody does Badge Engineering, for decades.

Lookig forward to seeing the new weapons from Dogde
Damn you can’t spell
Just another reason my charger will continue to retain its value. Sipping on that sweet oil instead of gorging itself with conflict cobalt mined via slave labor.
When someone said that they got the new Dodge Charger, someone will ask is it the new car or the actual car charger itself, lol
I’m not a rocket scientist or anything but I’ve owned alotttt of mopar products… and every single one has electrical problems.
Yep they'll burn down faster than the damn Tesla's
Stellantis has handled both Chrysler and Dodge horribly so far. Instead of forcing Dodge to become fully EVs they should've focused emissions on Chrysler, Jeep or the dozens of other companies other Stellantis. Doing that for Chrysler at least would've gave Dodge more wiggle room in doing V8s still. It's why companies like Ford, Chevy, Audi, BMW, etc can still do special vehicles, and general performance cars with V8s. And we already know how good of a job they've done with Chrysler
Going all EV in general is a mistake, they should try an alternative fuel option tbh, but I do agree that they should focus on Chrysler and Jeep first and make them more economical and reliable tbh, also save Chrysler from the brink of death by reviving old Chrysler names and revive the Imperial brand for the luxury division, also revive Plymouth for other uses too and any old defunct car brands under Chrysler and such, so yeah
Agreed, they can change Chrysler into the EV Brand. Take those Profits and either make the Hemi V8s more efficient or make a new lighter (500lbs or more) Challenger/Charger.
@@bradwhite5884 yeah while I think going 100% EV isn't a great idea it would've been much better if they focused on giving Chrysler especially the hybrid and more efficient power trains and given them new models with EV options. I still think Chrysler could be an amazing luxury brand again especially seeing what Stellantis has done for Jeep and the Grand Wagoneer
@@TimeisReel it's a good idea man EV luxury brands are extremely popular too so it'd make sense, I think even before the EV craze they should've been giving Chrysler more hybrid and high efficiency engines especially if it meant giving them more cars in their lineup. Whether it's 100% EVs or a combo of evs and highly efficient engines and hybrids it would've been much better than what they've done with Chrysler so far and would've helped Dodge keep the V8s
@@megatronusorionpax4900 Yes, if they where to put the Ram 1500 type of interiors in a nice EV Sedan (New 300), Small, Medium and Large SUV. They could reinvent the Brand. And have money to keep making Hemi V8 Cars...
I can see more Alfa Romeo based vehicles in the Dodge 24 lineup.
Sad.
When I ordered my 2022 Scat Pack Challenger, I had no idea this was going to happen. I've even considered taking a MASSIVE loss and trading in on a Hellcat... However, after digging a little bit into what Dodge will be offering around the time I'll want a new car AND looking at what people are getting for V8 Challengers- the dealership offered $8,000 more than I paid for my car in trade, I'm looking forward to a higher horsepower, lighter ScatPack!
It looks to me like the Charger will probably be a 4 door. And the coupe could be called a Daytona? That makes me wonder that the Challenger will be smaller as you suggest. And that there will also be a sedan version. If Challenger remains a coupe then the sedan will be called Javelin? (As Hornet was an AMC name?) And maybe the performance versions will be barracuda's? There is still a market for cars, small as it is and if Ford and GM don't want part of it then Stellantis can take their piece of the pie and fight with Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mazda.
Although American and German ownership/management of Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep have provided platforms and tech for current models, credit the Italians for taking these brands to heights the former owners couldn't.
American ownership was the best. Then German ownership ruined Chrysler and Italian ownership was left with the mess.
Even if they did market it as the last challenger ever I wouldn't believe them... Anyone recall the Viper? How many times did they decide they were done?
I’m glad I bought my 392 when I did.
Looks good but I’m not getting no electric car
How about a new Challenger Convertible and a new VIPER Coupe and Convertible?
I feel like the new Hornet could make an awesome rally car.
give it proper suspension and tires and id say ur right!
Maybe a bit of engine tuning a stripped interior too.
Genuine question if someone can explain. Why go straight electric and not start with hybrid cars?
I don’t really understand EVs all that much.
Just my $0.02, but I don't like the new and upcoming Durango. Whether it's unibody or body-on-frame, the current 8,700 lb. max towing capacity doesn't fall far behind ford's 9k lbs. in the expedition. I'm curious about similar specs with their new hornet. If it's anything like the trucklets/mini trucks (maverick, Santa Cruz, etc.), it might make for a good vehicle for the brand. :)
Can’t believe BOF Durango on the way with no V8. 😢 … also I wish they follow Ford blue print … The CEO said because of there EV model selling well , they can afford to continue to make V8 . And also they are splitting ford in two companies One EV and ICE models. Prefect But that what happen when an non American company has no understanding of The US Market
What about price for all the trim level line ups?
I want the Banshee so bad, that shi is so rad. I hope they give it 1200 hp
this is kinda good news for the uk because that means the uk will finally have dodge back in the uk but yet it wont be what we would expect. no v8's or v6's. just a normal hybrid or god knows a normal engine.
Can you make a video of the future of the Chrysler brand please
I’ve waited a long time for the return of a hemi CUDA convertible Doesn’t seem that will happen Not sure I care about a hurricane CUDA ( or a V6 challenger )Glad I have a real 71 CUDA vert & if my order for a 23 sublime challenger jailbreak convertible comes through I’ll be good. Mustang will be the last V8 pony car standing I suppose
A Cuda convertible would have been an awesome car.
Engine swap will be a business on that thing when it will come out
I think they will make it possible to chose a V8 HEMI via DC or something. Dodge knows their customer
Swap the engine on a 9 second EV to a 5.7 Hemi with 375 hp. Great idea.
@@meishere4429 They're referring to the hellcat engines dude

some guy on another post i saw said toyota should buy dodge, jeep, and ram from stellantis. I agree with it, and if you guys hear me out, I think you will agree too. Toyota is very anti-ev, so much so that they are working on a hydrogen powered v8 for lexus and they just unveiled a 4AGE that was converted to hydrogen. If you see where I'm going with this, toyota can continue to make the hemis we know and love and they can do so with hydrogen. They can even add turbos if they wanted to. and knowing toyota, they would probably figure out a pretty damn good hybrid system for these engines. They can also sprinkle some toyota magic on the hurricane to make it like a modern 2jz. and this is just for dodge, for ram and jeep they can make some TRD truck models, GR and TRD jeep models, and help with the wagoneer lineup. theres more possibilites as well! anyways think about it, would you rather have these three brands stick with stellantis and get watered down with boring evs and maybe a couple ice models? or would you rather toyota buy them and keep the hemi alive through hydrogen and hybrid power?
Ram 1500 EV is coming, even though Ram is technically not a part of Dodge, the Ram website is still on Dodge’s. There is also no concrete evidence that there is gonna be a new Durango. I think it is gonna end soon
Ngl, I’m worried for the companies skipping over hybrids and going straight to EVs. I live in an area that has been directly affected by climate change so I am technically “in the electric crowd”, but I still feel like the way to go is to ease into evs with hybrids. Other brands like Ford and Toyota have taken this route while having ev experiments on the side. While Dodge doesn’t nearly have their level of catalogue, I feel like that is the way to go if we want Dodge to thrive and transition into this new hybrid/Ev era
It is most likely both will return with the Inline 6 engine with the EV being a separate project, from what I have heard from insider info....
People that buy these cars aren't going to buy one that has an inline 6.
Just one guy's opinion, but I think the new electric production Charger is gonna be a 4 door. Why would Dodge field another coupe alongside the Challenger in today's market where utility and space utilization are deemed so important? Look at the show car proportions and just imagine two doors on each side. 2 door concept cars are sexy, but in the real world a four door body makes for much greater sales potential. 4 doors and the hatch out back make the car much more practical as well as being cool and fast. I don't think they'll do otherwise after proving the viability of the 4 door performance car with the present Charger. Just sayin'.
I just find it weird that they are going to keep both the Charger and Challenger, because the Charger is a coupe now. Not sure if I see it happening
Yeah they could not bring back the Challenger but I just don’t think that’s a smart business move for them. Just my thoughts on that vehicle
@@MarspeedCars I’d like to see the challenger drop a ton of weight for the next Gen if they do decide to keep it. Make it a bit better around the track and the strip.
both were coupes back in the late 60s and 70s and to my knowledge there wasnt any self-undermining sales, so I think both being coupes today should be fine. Though times have changed so who knows
Haven’t seen a Hornet anywhere
It's too new. Give it a month or two.
I’m interested to see how the Hornet hybrid systems hold up in terms of reliability as they age. I remember seeing a lot of complaints on the short lived Aspen and Durango hybrid models on how the hybrid system would cut out at random speeds people waiting months for transmission replacements at dealerships. Hopefully that won’t be the case with the Hornet.
Fiat reliability is Great ! NOT.

I would imagine dodges hybrid technology has improved in the last 20 years.
@@meishere4429 Oh I see.
It's not good. They should take the Truck Profits and do whatever it takes to make the Hemi V8s more efficient (fast 6 cylinders aren't enough either...). Not with this Fan Base.
Ford seems to be finding a way. To kill it's best seller with a unknown (but Fast...) vehicle is a huge risk. And they say you can't even tune it, outside of Dodge. The Mustang, Corvette, Porsche 911 all evolved. And gotten better. For Dodge to 'Cold-Turkey" it's Base, is hugely Risky. It's going to be interesting...
Looking forward to seeing the V6 in the Challenger/Barracuda or whatever they will be calling it when it comes out in 2025.
Why?
@@Richard4point6 the hurricane engine is a good engine.
The only change to the 2024 Durango is towing capacity. Everything else stays the same. You wont be able to tell the difference between the 2, except for new stock color options.
I blame stellantis for all of this
Any update on the security for theft going forward?!?! Dodge needs to do something
An actual muscle car is back when the Charger was slim and two doors. Not a bloated piece of sheet metal.
The Durango has 8000 pounds of towing capacity yeah right I towed a 21,000 pound class a motorhome up hill with a 2001 dodge Durango sport utility, after the motorhome broke down, and actually passed by a 2021 Chevy Silverado, Duramax, struggling to get up the hill with a small fifth wheel trailer, and there was not one single thing wrong with our Durango after that not a single thing the Durango is an absolute powerhouse

It won't take that long.
How do spell Plymouth ? Dodge !
Dodge Hornet is a Rebranded Alfa Romeo Tonale, It did sell in Italy so it was rebranded and sold in the USA, Stellantis OWNS Alfa Romeo
I can't help but feel like Stellantis is pushing all the EV stuff onto Chrysler. 0the Airflow is a decent approach but using the Charger name as an EV I can't help feel will completely backfire. That being said, the Charger has bounced back from being complete doo doo before.
I'm ok with Dodge going EV and going out of business. I've got Dodge vehicles between 1914 and 2023 to keep me busy till I'm dead. What happens after 2023 I honestly dont really care. Everything I could ever want has been made already. That's coming from myself a lifelong mopar junkie.

The only thing that Stellantis /Dodge appears to be good at is building Prototype vehicles. Not one consumer ready replacement vehicle for Dodge's current lineup has been introduced. No camouflaged testers being recorded running the streets. It seems with Stellantis dropping the Dodge SRT Hemi lineup. There's no real plan on the new direction of Dodge.
If the Durango is going to be a fullsize SUV, there's going to be a huge gap between the Hornet and the Durango. Not a good thing. This is why Dodge and RAM need to be merged together again.
I always assumed Frame on Body was better at towing than a Unibody
I prepped vehicles for scrap and was shocked by 2 things: 1- the speed in which framed vehicles rusted off of the frames especially within 6 inches of the mounts. And 2- how hard the unibodies were to crush. Strangely I'd say for myself I'd rather have a unibody for anything other than off road twists.
