It's surprising that, "powerline", is so little known. Over the past twenty years I have been using my home's electrical circuit to get the internet to the farthest reaches of my home. At first I didn't believe it would work. How could those delicate little signals be heard above the 'noise' of electrons rushing between my Television, Vacuum cleaner, Toaster, Exercise Bike and Fridge Freezer? Hadn't they heard of electromagnetic radiation? Well, apparently, they had, and knew much more about it than me, because it works really, really well. First I bought a TP-Link system, which I used for about 10 years without problems. I then upgraded to a Devolo system which made better use of the faster WiFi protocols that were becoming available, Now, one of the units has broken when a microwave fell on it, and so I'm getting a new system and may well chose the TP Link Deco P9.
Thanks for the video, you mentioned adding an additional unit to extend with P9, I could not find the product that works with powerline, can you point that to me, please?
One of my units keep disconnecting from the system. No interaction at all from tech support. For the last 4 months they keep saying that all will be solved with a new FW, that they have no idea when will be available. Don't waist your $ and go with a nother brand.
Hi I have tp link deco s4. I have done the set up which is working . I just wanted to know would it allow you to choose which deco you want to connect or does it run under one deco ?
P9s are COMPLETE garbage! Make sure you go to the TP-Link Forums and check the problems people are having including myself. I bought 2 systems (6 total). There are major problems with dropped connections, not being able to tell if the back haul is PLC or Wifi etc. You will most likely have MAJOR problems after purchase. You've been warned. TP-Link is JUNK
Great overview. I'm getting this router since it seems to be the only one that has integrated powerline backhaul (I know it's not ideal but good enough for me).
when you implemented the mesh how difficult was it to get existing smart devices set up ( ring ,alexa....?) did you create a network with same name /password as prior network? thank you great video..definitely gonna buy the deco system....
@@23steph13 No firmware update as of yet. I received mine 4 days ago. Lost over half of my speed coming from a 2 year old Linksys router. Signal has improved, but not sure if it is a fair trade off. Parental controls are now useless as well. I would check into the Amazon Eero system before going this route.
The P7 has AV600 powerline adapters. The P9 has AV1000. That said I think the P7 has a higher wifi through put than the P9, but chances are you'll not notice that!?
There is no seamless switch between nodes. You can not use this for live streaming/broadcasting or video calls like Zoom as there are a few seconds frozen image when switching between nodes. Very disappointed.
ANOTHER video that doesn't actually explain how to create a powerline connection between two p9 APs! An AP can't do this through its own power adapter, and the box doesn't include the powerline box which takes the Lan cable to/from one of the Lan ports on the P9. What I'm starting to understand is, the powerline backhaul is only possible if you buy additional powerline adapters!
Not from what I understand. You don’t need any additional equipment. As long as both devices are on the same power Circute it should work out of the box. I could see the powerline connection through the app without using any additional equipment.

Best video I’ve seen on the p9 to be honest 👍🏻
Can you help me in choosing between this or orbi ?
Super focused on content thanks buddy. Nice meeting you ! 🤝
so which one is better tp-link p9 or huawei wifi q2 pro? any idea?? whats the main difference between them? whose parental control is better?
Will the powerline extend beyond the stucco exterior walls to provide stronger/better signal to outdoor cameras?

I friend of mine bought this system last year. Worked great for 9 months and now it erases the internal settings everyday.

Same ssid and password ... 90% of the devices reconnected automatically.
When I install the Deco P9, will the WiFi use the password that I used when I downloaded the App to my phone?
Thanks for explaining well 👍 it's useful I ur biggest fan
Thanks for the awesome review bro. Learnt a lot about it , thanks for sharing
Do you need the app to set it up?
Does it have an online account login?
Can someone hack your account and access your mesh network settings ?
How to recharge this thing and how many gb per day
is this just plug n play? i m using jiofiber n their router is different from other routers. i want to buy this mesh system for my home. thanks
5 minute setup through the app
My router is in my living room and my room is 2 stories up. Will I have the same strength in my room
Does not work well with 2.4ghz devices 😒 ,waiting for firmware update to be able to create separate 2.4ghz network, otherwise very good system
I really hope they update firmware soon. Ned o Change my iPhone range and make reservations
Has FW been updated yet? Thinking about buying these. Thanks. Good video

Is wired connection better than wireless connection between devices?
Yes of course
What is the better one P7 or P9 ?
P9 includes the powerline adapter

@@MoGpt Not so sure about coverage, but wifi bandwidth. From my noddy understanding.
Cool video thanks. I'm not sure about the background music :/
Yes. Very distracting.
Too many deco devices ... i dont know which one is better
I just bought the m4 and this look exactly like it
Adel Athab the M4 is an older model

Did you enable fast switching in the advanced options? This should resolve your issue.
Come over and set this up at my place!
Lol ... I should start a business 🤣
@@varerkars go for it...just don't quit your day job yet.....
Do not take my word on it, follow it on the TP-Link forum itself: community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/179162
Does it also work with wired backhaul?
Yes
@@irfansafedien6096 Thanks I will go ahead and purchase it, I hope it works better than the Deco M5 Ethernet backhaul
