    Back in the 2000s I put an M90 from a supercoupe on a bone stock 91 5.0. It worked good, maybe 2-4lbs of boost, it didnt make much on the top end over stock but it had good torque off the line. It was a fun project, had to run a Mark VII pulley to get enough RPM in the blower to be useful. It looked cool and would spin the tires, a cool project.

    The 3.8in s/c pulley with 7.5in crank pulley at 6500rpm is about 13k blower rpm the 3in pulley is 16k+. The m90 efficiency drops off hard after 15k blower rpm. I want to see the iat
    Cool to see these things pushed hard. Great work Richard

      I have all the IAT data as well-but the blower doesn't have high IATS when the boost is low (even at higher blower speeds)-having it feed a healthy V8 keeps boost low

    • @1DEADBEEF1
      @1DEADBEEF1 8 дней назад

      Rich is a fan of getting as much airflow as possible with the boost staying low (pretty much the engine consumes so much air that the blower doesn't have a chance to build significant boost) that has several advantages like keeping the charge temps low (temperature rise is directly proportional to boost pressure rise) and also keeping the parasitic draw of the supercharger low (the more boost the harder the blower has to work, the harder it works the more power it robs)

    That 500 torques is what I'm drooling over. From a M90 no less! Talk about a cheap towing mod. Granted it all adds up though doesn't it? Less so if you're really handy. I was pricing out a m122 and by the time you're said and done you're in it $4k to $5k and that's with a used blower. That's close to the cost of a nearly 4.0l LSA swap

    The "Sloppy Stage 2 Cam" is a performance camshaft primarily associated with the Elgin brand, made famous by the "Sloppy Mechanics" team, particularly Matt Happel, who used it extensively in their builds, particularly on LS-swapped cars; essentially, the name "Sloppy Stage 2" is a combination of the Elgin camshaft and the notoriety gained through the Sloppy Mechanics team's usage, creating a widely recognized cam profile known for its aggressive nature and noticeable lopey idle.
    Key points about the Sloppy Stage 2 Cam:
    Manufacturer: Primarily produced by Elgin Industries.
    Popularized by: The Sloppy Mechanics team, particularly Matt Happel.
    Characteristics: A relatively aggressive cam profile that delivers significant power gains, accompanied by a pronounced lopey idle sound, making it a popular choice for street cars with a muscle car aesthetic.
    Notable feature: The "Sloppy Stage 2" name became widely recognized after the cam gained popularity through the Sloppy Mechanics team's use and exposure at events like the PRI
