Back in the 2000s I put an M90 from a supercoupe on a bone stock 91 5.0. It worked good, maybe 2-4lbs of boost, it didnt make much on the top end over stock but it had good torque off the line. It was a fun project, had to run a Mark VII pulley to get enough RPM in the blower to be useful. It looked cool and would spin the tires, a cool project.
The 3.8in s/c pulley with 7.5in crank pulley at 6500rpm is about 13k blower rpm the 3in pulley is 16k+. The m90 efficiency drops off hard after 15k blower rpm. I want to see the iat Cool to see these things pushed hard. Great work Richard
I have all the IAT data as well-but the blower doesn't have high IATS when the boost is low (even at higher blower speeds)-having it feed a healthy V8 keeps boost low
Rich is a fan of getting as much airflow as possible with the boost staying low (pretty much the engine consumes so much air that the blower doesn't have a chance to build significant boost) that has several advantages like keeping the charge temps low (temperature rise is directly proportional to boost pressure rise) and also keeping the parasitic draw of the supercharger low (the more boost the harder the blower has to work, the harder it works the more power it robs)
Hey Richard I need help please I have a 2014 Silverado 5.3l and I want 550-600 horse reliabily so I can daily drive. What engine mods and supporting engine and driver terrains mods do I need thanks in advance.
That 500 torques is what I'm drooling over. From a M90 no less! Talk about a cheap towing mod. Granted it all adds up though doesn't it? Less so if you're really handy. I was pricing out a m122 and by the time you're said and done you're in it $4k to $5k and that's with a used blower. That's close to the cost of a nearly 4.0l LSA swap
Richard could you test how much power gain you can get with a crankcase evacuation kit compared to a vacuum pump on a bbc or sbc I think that would be a cool comparison
We need to see a LSA vs torqstorm. The 2 cheapest ways to supercharge a ls. And the effects of intake runner length on the torqstrom set up. Which is better!?
When will the 6.8 v10 triton get some love? For the spark plugs problem Its basically a 2/3v 5.4 v8 with 2 more cylinder so if the fix is available for a 5.4 it also is for a 6.8
All this just begs the question: What would result from running this blower setup--with all the mods shown here--on a L67 3800 V-6? Or an LV3 V-6? And with that, Richard... I believe you now have your work set out before you.😉
My grandpa and I are putting together a 383 sbc and I was wondering if you’ve ran something on the dyno similar to our cam, rocker arm ratios, valve sizes, heads, carb, intake, etc
Big big fan of your content. I had a questions on test you may have done but can’t find it . Basically I have a stock roller 351w and my want is 500 ish hp . Is it possible to get there with ported stock heads, cam, intake , carb and turbo. This is going in a foxbody to drift / and street for context everything in my mind says I can get close but not really sure

Have you ever done a twin charged ls before? I have a L33 with a m122 supercharger on it but was also thing about doing twin turbos. I was wondering how it would affect the boost and how efficiently things would work together as far as hp and torque numbers.
@richardholdener1727 spun a rod bearing and was thinking about trying the easy route and throwing a stroker kit at it without having the cost of machining the block
So im looking for a intake manifold for my lsx b15 looking to make around 700 to 800 hp nothing crazy, you told me stock intake or blower, ive been thinking about using a procharger system around 10 pd boost would stock still be ok or should i go with holley low ram not sure sorry don't get me wrong i love the blower option not sure i want that look yet blower sticking out of hood, the car is a second gen camaro
I still really wanna see a big bang test done on the ford 300ci inline 6 big turbos high boost maybe some nitrous i wanna see what is the biggest number you can make with it plzplzplz lol send it to the moon
Hey Richard I’m currently pondering I bought a stage 2 ls3 cam 229/244 cam but the ls3 is no longer in my hands you think the 5.3 that’s in my little rcsb truck can handle that cam with all the supporting mods ???
I know this has nothing to do with this video but this is your newest video I’m looking to do your gen v/vi bbc but how about the 427 tall deck do you have any input/ videos i have 3-4 (454)on marketplace $500-1000 1-2hr. Drive the 427T is only 7mi. From me &$800 any insight would be greatly appreciated

Glad you showed the carb setup- my favorite.
Seeing Richard looking over Richard's shoulder freaked me out for a sec. 😛
I always feel like, somebody's watching me
nice 👍
This is the exact video I’m waiting for
For the 2.2/2.5/all the goodies in between tests
Another great video. Thanks Richard.
excellent video for all the M90 comparisons.

K series m90 test when 😐
Prob too small 😂
Thanks for the great content rich. 🎉

get my low buck track and springs, then boost (with pump and injectors)
Excellent content, thank you Richard!
Man, that blower lays down crazy flat torque curves.
11.58 gmt Richard, is that you and a '88 Mustang in the February '92 issue of Hot Rod?
Love your channel, keep it up!

Awesome video as usual. What about super/turbo?
we did that on the 3800 V6
please do a test between pete jackson timing gear set vs double roller chain.

Let’s see the m90 on a hemi or magnum 👁️🫦👁️
Got my notepad and popcorn 🍿
share the popcorn
Can you do a video of a 302 vs a 289 sbf?
Richard hey brother is it possible to do some Gen V L86/LT1 testing? Ported heads all stages BTR/GPI/TSP car/truck cams? Blower/Turbo?…
We need to see a LSA vs torqstorm. The 2 cheapest ways to supercharge a ls. And the effects of intake runner length on the torqstrom set up. Which is better!?
the LSA isn't a cheap way
You can discuss the price differences as well. Also intercooling the torqstorm
@@davidhaskin9936we need a test on the new Gen 2 torqstrom head unit

I have plenty of tests on the 3800 (even turbo feeding the blower). I won't run an M90 on the Lv3

Test out new torqstrom gen 2 head unit
Id like to see a 4.6 2v. Vs 4.7 magnum with a m90
same. Id love to slap an m90 on a crown vic.
Is there a video on how to make and ls engine faster then a stock hellcat?
very easy with a turbo

very easy to get 500 hp with that stuff on a 351 (or 302)
Have done a build with all pro summit racing part? Piston, heads, cam, intake and headers what power do they produce and how reliable are they?
the work very well
I'd love to see a inline 6 shootout ford chevy dodge add some boost see what survives

why are you giving me a history of the Sloppy cam? I know Matt and the guys at Elgin.

Hey Rich! Sorry if it's been asked before. But is there a way to bulletproof the afm system without deleting it? Specifically on a lh6 engine? Thanks!
not sure about bullet proofing
Deleting it is bulletproofing it

we have run bigger cams than that in a 5.3L, but it loses low speed and adds top end-do you want that
Twin m90s
Who can o get to make the adapter plates? Intake and throttle body
Tom Demuse at Demuse Engineering already does

Wouldn't you need 2 M90s for an LS? Let's see
we made 650 hp with a single
