  • That’s how the saying goes anyways, I don’t know about you but that just doesn’t sit right with me.

I paid off my last car loan and a personal loan two years ago, an 09 Honda accord and it was in great shape with 140K miles. Finally I owed something and I won’t have any payments except rent. Having no payments (no debt) was really nice for about 7 months, then I hit a tree that came down in the road in front of me, totaled it…so now I have a 2020 Elantra, I’ll pay it off by 2028. But I’m on my 18th day straight of work as I’m typing this, I’m getting that shit paid off sooner. There is no better feeling than being able to answer any phone call and not be worried about debt collectors.

talk to a lawyer and see if there's any liability from the city/town for not maintaining potential deadfall, could help your finnancial burden

@@jasonmoss-qk8oh I did but because it was during a storm and even though I had filed a police report and all, there was really no way of proving that there was an extended time that the township neglected it. Ultimately I did get a check for the totaled out value of the car but the freakin insurance company filed it as an “at fault” accident which I found out afterward and fought tooth and nail on, I was very upset by that as now my rates have gone up significantly. I delivered pizza 50 hours a week for 10+ yrs through my 20’s and never had any accidents. It’s also why I had the police come out and write a report stating there was no visibility along that stretch of road. I was again advised that because they had already totaled out the car there was no way they were gonna reverse that decision. As Ive gotten older I’ve found that at any given moment life can totally screw you in ways that are completely outside of your control. So I just control the things I can, work hard, and try to reduce the likelihood of misfortune day by day

we already don't own anything, money has no value as it's backed by nothing. it's a promissory note, promise to pay ( can't pay when there's no money ) paying taxes ( extortion fees ) on things you "own" is merely renting with extra privliedges

Property taxes may be the biggest scam in all of history “own” your home and land but if you don’t pay the taxes the government just takes it back

i have trouble bringing myself to go above 2k debt damn. not owning your own things puts a lot of trust in another person and throws money away unless its necessary.
I got an 05 monte carlo and resealed the engine for 1500 (600 for the car and 900 on parts)

r/woosh inflation gonna catch up to you eventually unless you're a multi-millionaire. Still the point is to not get ripped off, even if you if can afford it.
