    I started throwing in an extra $100/month to the principal of my car payment. The last year to year and a half, I bumped that up to $200, and I paid the car off in exactly 48 months. This cut a full year off the car debt. Every little bit you can throw at the loan will reduce the amount of time you're paying on your car.

    another thing to consider is REFINANCING. I went from an 17% APR to a 5.5% APR. after refinancing my auto loan. you can also purchase new gap under your bank. dealerships will charge 900 for Gap but your bank might sell it for 200 for the same thing! GAP is important to have for the first year or two!!

    • @davidmarksphotos
      @davidmarksphotos 4 года назад +1

      Lucy Huerta I waited one year exactly. That’s a good amount of time for anyone. The trick is that you have to make more than your monthly payment so whatever bank you choose sees that you are paying off your car in a more aggressive way. Makes you more appealing for them to take your loan. I would advise you choose a credit union. Or even a local regional bank. Big banks like Wells Fargo, chase, America etc. might turn you down or give you a high APR. local banks are more generous and like to make business and will sometimes give a lower APR to obtain your business.

      Hello everyone. Blessings of love and peace and goodness be upon your. This is a message of love. Dear Christian women of the world repent of your sins of dressing immodestly even at home for bed. That means dress in dresses and skirts that doesn't show your breasts or knee or back or stomach. But an outfit that is not costly and goes passed your knee don't show your stomach or breasts or back or stomach when you sits or stand or bend down to pick up something or left up arms to grab something. Don't follow the beauty gurus or fashion gurus. Repent of wearing makeup and jewlery and braided hair and just be simple but modest and clean. Use the money and time for helping others such as your family and relatives first then other Christians then everyone else. Donate to the poor and widow and orphans and churches with your makeup and jewlery and braided hair money. Any use the time to go on RUclips and social media and teach Repentance of sins to women and children. Repent of not wearing a headcovering when you pray or praying in your closet like you are supposed to and not in public. Repent of lying and stealing and gossiping and hating your family and relatives and neighbors and Churches and strangers in other countries who are humans and also might be christian like you or Jewish. Love your family and relatives. Spend time with them and be obedient to your parents and if married to your husband. If in trouble call on Jesus Christ. Donate to the poor and widow and orphans and churches and strangers such as the homeless in your city. Teach online the gospel to women and children. Volunteer your time at church but make sure to clean up your house and cook for your family and relatives first before doing so. And study the commandments which you can find online by typing in 1050 new testament commandments and studying prophecies at home. And be a gentle quiet spirit. And pray for others. Thank you for listening. Love

    I am gonna pay off my car on my next pay and reason why mine took 2 years instead of 1 cause of COVID-19. Thanks to covid it made stop traveling which helped me save money, spend less time shopping,going to restaurants , and I cut out abit of my hobbies for stuff I don’t need and during this time it made me realized how much I would spend in a year which is insane.
    My car loan is my last loan paying off so any extra money I get now is going right to my savings for a rainy day till I can travel again and use the money for that.

      I only got gap insurance because it paid for my oil changes which are $55. And my 19 inch tires cost about $400 bucks so in the event of a tire blowout or a nail in the tire, I can get it replaced without paying out of pocket. But I plan on trading in my car before the gap insurance runs out.

    I love the fact that you got a car that is reliable and economical with a reasonable price. It's obvious that many Americans buy too much car to flex on people but at the end of the day the joke is one them. Most of these cars will eventually get repo'ed and will destroy you credit. I got a car loan in May 2018 for a 0 miles honda fit sport 21k. December 2020 im at 7500 and should be done paying by mid February.

    the only big draw back from paying off a car early is if you total the car then your going to lose a lot of money i had a friend that had a 2011 toyota tacoma he put 15 k down on the truck and payed it off. and three weeks later he totaled it and the insurance company only gave him 15 thousand dollars

    • @lifeandnumbers
      @lifeandnumbers  5 лет назад +1

      That's true, the insurance company is only going to give you the amount the car is valued if you total it. Let's send good vibes into the universe I don't turn out like your friend lol. Thanks for watching!

    I’m doing it right now. It’s easy. Set a target date that you want to have the car paid off by do a rough estimate of the APR then divided by however many months that you want to have the car paid off. That’s the amount you pay every month until it’s paid off. Make the minimum payment and add the extra payment directly to the principal.

    Better if you would have had the new balance visible after each payment. And explain how you got the bank to apply the extra payments 100% to principle. Not all banks do that. I believe you must specifiy, apply to principal only. Excellent, impressive debt elimination. Also dont recal if u mentioned the APR?
