So true. I can't believe that they would think that this is a good idea and that absolutely no one from ubi bothered to say, hey, I think this is a bad plan.
Honestly, if LB is gonna have multiple strokes mid-fight because of that feintable bash, then he absolutely deserves to be OP. Man's fighting for his life
ngl, watching Lawbringer's chains in the Warrior's Den, they had the same vibe as that kid in the haunted house who takes his shirt off and just starts wildly swinging his fists-
Technically he can get the 1st hit of his zone can't he? Still abysmal though when compared to this monster. Especially since HL's zone takes so much stam to perform
@@pingouuiin I completely forgot his zone doesn't even chain into his other offence, RIP. Are you a highlander main by any chance? I've always wondered if HL's can get into offensive stance quick enough (after a guardbreak) to do an offensive light & thus have a good opportunity to continue with a mixup afterwards. Is that possible or would the offensive stance light not be guaranteed?
@@TF-Austin Unfortunately no, I'm far from being an Higlander main but I'm looking forward to any changes he might receive because he really deserves it And actually no I don't think you can, going into offensive stance from neutral do take some time, but what you can do is just perform a normal light which can flow into offensive stance. You could however be able to do what you're trying to do from any parry (Keep in mind I didn't do any test I could be dead wrong !)
his forward shove is already 500ms, minus the dodge time, but if you spam dodge and guardbreak at the same time you pretty much bash instantly as if it was a neutral bash anyway. His side shoves are 600ms. What he needed was a rollcatcher. His offense was fine with the buffed shove I think except that he had no way to catch escaping opponents. He has a nice balance between counter attacks/turtling (which should always be his main point imo no matter what) and semi agressive plays imo Edit: his shove mix up is also 500ms and combined with high hitstun for his finishers its actually a lot harder to dodge than you might think
I just wish that they made him more into a hybrid. Like how it says he is. I prefer the live version cause he works rn. I’d prefer a Nuxia testing grounds only.
I'm happily surprised that I can completely agree with your Freeze, I'm not sure how anyone can't see that this is broken and unhealthy for the game. But besides the damage we technically have this kinda back to back unblockables with conq. I think the unblockablea should not be armoured. Normal chain heavy can be armoured though. Will be very useful for team fights. Like medji, he have unblockable and hyper armour but on different moves. Feintable bash and impale got to go.
They put LB in the fucking captain America super soldier capsule and gave nuxia one shot that says "anabolic steroids" and it actually just had water in it
they basically did, with adding hyperarmor to his chain, he has no reason to take jugg over righteous deflection, and can always have that 50% DR active after a parry :DDD
I think that the knew strategy for reworks is that the dev team puts the most overpowered and "broken" version of the hero in the testing ground, they see the community's reaction and then bring the hero to a balanced and standard level, But then again they did release THAT version of reworked Conquer, so they really need to find a way to optimize the testing grounds. Can't they make an in game survey ?
Ubisoft clearly saw that I, LimbLegion, the most infamous """"Lawbringer Main"""" alive, was really enjoying playing Medjay and decided to make Lawbringer just Medjay but better, without a light parry dodge attack, and the best light parry in the game. Weird flex but okay.
To be honest it does seem like they took the Raider rework and copied it on LB and left all the nuisances that make and made LB quite a beast even though the majority of people couldn't see how strong he always was. I feel that the different chains are actually okay to have them to have the options and not feel handicapped by being forced to be stuck in a heavy recovery and throw a heavy or in a light recovery and be forced to throw a heavy afterwards which does suck when you actually play the character. I know is not a character up to everyone's alley but he has been one of the most vocal loved characters of the game since it's release. That being said, there glaring issues from first view of the rework, and I do hope that the devs went overboard and not plan to actually release this version. Besides what Freeze mentioned in his video probably the most glaring issue is that he will be literally unpeelable in team fights due to how his HA works and also having a very threatening unblockable finisher meaning keeping constant HA and having also unblockable on top of that makes the looping move completely busted. Impale has always been an issue and yeah the damage numbers are too high considering all the nerfs other characters got. Impale on all heavies is an issue but that has various options to be fixed. Issue I see is that is complex to distinguish the impale move if it preceed a heavy or a light parry or running attack. I do feel that having LB immediately go into the riposte if the attack reaches a wall would probably make the move bearable (something like how warmonger works). This also solves the issue of impale being a very potent ganking tool as longarm won't be able to be performed on wall splat since auto riposte, opener light special kind of move, will be forced. And we are actually catching the devs a bit lying here with the numbers as it was mentioned various times on the WD that they are keeping the damage cap max at 30 on strong moves yet... here we have LB... Raider, Pirate etc were nerfed because of the outcries of damage numbers. The shortcut to the finisher I can understand it but what breaks the shortcut is the looping capability which will be a huge pain to deal especially in teamfights. Regarding the longarm I do believe that the way to address it is very simple. Make a specialized heavy followup that acts as an opener (see-> hito heavy after sweep) and would simply solve a myriad of issues, still will be a good ganking tool but not to the extend of being outright busted. Regarding the animations, they do seem to have put a lot of effort, not sure about the shove change if that was even neeeded everyone was always happy with original LB shove animation but I guess is that it looks completely different that is offputting for now. Can't really say anything until that is tested and seen in the TG. For the stun is whatever. Is just unfortunate that they chose to leave it on light parries considering dodge attacks were planned to change to be mostly light parries which seems that LB will be able to bait quite a lot in this iteration, having also the feintable bash to parry and put an opponent into stun will make ganking/teamfights very obnoxious vs him
The fact how much they let this character get away with for the Sole reason that it is lb is astounding Lets just hope that people start to wake up when the testing grounds are out
I thought that Lawbringer just needed a few tweaks. I like the full light chain, impale nerf, and making the parry light chain to finisher. Idk why they thought he doesn't need a forward dodge to catch rolls. Everyrhing else is just making me loose faith in UBI.
The only problem of LB was the lack of proper openers, if they sped up the bash he would've probably been fine, maybe just give him light light heavy and that's it.
@@JustAreru but he already had much, despite the ha and opener (as he has one). He had hard to react ubs (animation), good chain pressure, hard punishes and health. Heck, dven his long had ganking potential and his zone had low recovery. He also was one of the fews to punish safe bashe like conq, bp and wl. But what people wanted to have ha and triple lights. They cant do shit with lb, thats why they wanted a rework.
Honestly, I thought they could have just made long arm feintable and that was the only change my big boi needed to add a little bit of versatility to his kit instead of basing everything off of parries or feint heavy.
Homer designing his own car is too perfect a metaphor for this. After the dodge attack changes went through I'm genuinely terrified this will get a positive reception, but I can't see a reality where any rational player thinks this rework is well designed. Going back to Homer, maybe I need a crayon up my nose before I see through the veil.
I just realized the feintable bash almost looks like LB's trying to do the Dragon Ball fusion dance but just gets left hanging by the enemy because he's holding a fucking poleaxe.
When they showed the bash animation my first thought was it must be a long arm mix up, how wrong I was. My word this rework is madness, especially when compared to nuxia's which is just a change to the traps that probably could have gone into live.
His main issue was this: No roll catcher, high heavy damage parry and no good openers and no HA on top unblockable. Simple things yet they gave him all this garbage as a "rework"
His offense was lackluster from neutral. His punishes for parries are one of the best in game and he lacks chain options. If you dont know how to play him you cant really get use out of him in 1v1 and on high level play he doesnt really get into his offense if he doesnt get a parry because everything in his kit is reactable
LB lacked rollcatch and good openers from neutral; this meant good defensive players could just stall him forever and then punish whenever he made a amistake; this rework fixes none of that, but instea just gives him absurd dmg chain pressure and HA; people will still be able to just back away from him, but now they fucking better roll away because if they don't he will kill them in 3 UB's.
Fix: Give LB 6x health, but limit the game to 1 LB per team, and make it so that if you kill an LB, your team wins. He’s now the final boss of the game.
as a Lawbringer main, I hate this rework not only because it's busted but more so because I dont wanna play with this moveset, I dont think it'll be fun and it also absolutely kills his entire character identity. I think his stuns and stamina damages are an extremely important aspect of his kit and they should absolutely stay. Most people dont realize how much his kit actually relies on playing around these stuns and it's his one of the definining factors. He already has an extremely quick 500ms bash, he also has enhanced lights, his chain pressure and mixup play was great as is with the choice of either enhanced lights or 400ms light mid chain and his shove mixups (which are also 500ms) his offense was FINE I really think he didnt need any new opener or whatever, his offense was working as intended. It was a nice balance between turtling and counter attacks (which is his core identity) and semi agressive plays. I'd maybe only give him a rollcatcher and that would be it, I don't think he needs any changes not even the rollcatcher I think even that is a stretch
Also worth mentioning is this hero being a fucking monster means nuxia wont get any meaningful testing done. Thanks Ubisoft cant wait to see the first live nuxia change in year 9 season 4.
They should add a special parry state instaid of an inchain bash. instead of a normal parry you do back+gb for example leading into a trapped limb like nuxia which gives you access to 3 moves, the impale which moves you in forward and deals 10 damage total, an armoured heavy for peel and a long arm type move for a team fight.
I am thoroughly convinced that For Honor devs are making a living trolling us lol. I'll take this opportunity to thank Freeze for all these videos. You are one of the few voices of reason and objective criticism for this game.
the rework is a bit ridiculous but freeze definitely does not have rational opinions most of the time, and I seem to recall him defending to some degree the orochi and raider reworks on some aspects, even if he did complain about one or two aspects of the characters. Him saying 'they need to remove the impale on a heavy parry' would not be a good change to a... parry-specialist character. The repeated unblockable change is over the top and not needed but there are okay-ish things about the rework also.
@@dravenwag idk I can't speak for the guy but I would assume that when he criticizes a certain thing, his criticism is usually couched in a greater concern for the game and is always accompanied with a better suggestion. It wouldn't be fair to use a snippet of someone ranting to summarize their methodology. But yes, some things are subjective - I guess - like thinking a certain animation is ugly.
@@dravenwag if you want him to be a parry specialist then he can’t have oppressive offense, then he’d simply be the best unit with huge Hp pool, best parry punishes and insane infinite Unblockable loop with hyper armor. He needs immense tuning and drastic nerfing after TG
I'm not *entirely* sure if this has been pointed out but the heavy after impale is specifically the second in chain, meaning there is no confirmed light-riposte. They didn't do all that to make his heavy parry punish do essentially the same thing, thankfully (long arm would also definitely not work). Though I do think it'd be far healthier on light-parry only as a 25 damage punish that leads into the mixup (if the top heavy from parry was still minus and unchainable). Most of the rest of it seems very bogus and unnecessary. They somehow managed to take away his invaluably useful enhanced side lights and replaced them with something that will be more infuriating at low-level, and pretty much useless at high-level. You were right when you said the rework didn't actually address any of his problems, they essentially made him a different, less interesting... thing.
The amount of people in some content creator's comments excited to see lawbringer get a rework like this makes me disappointed in the community. The "as a LB main" guys don't care what's healthy for the game, they just want their character to be stronger than he already is while saying he's bottom tier without it.
I know there’s power creep factoring in as well, but pre CCU orochi’s only gimmick was he had a three light chain and they were slightly faster. New lawbringer manages to have the triple light chain among vortex mixups, hyperarmor, some of the highest in game damage to while bolstering one of the highest health pools, and a dodge bash + neutral bash instead of a dodge attack. Worth mentioning the armor perks too. All of this on the back of terrible animations and gutted identity somehow they made the character unfun to play and unfun to play against at the same time as an “improvement” Disappointed as a lawbringer main myself, for what it’s worth. I enjoyed having a good character that didn’t rely on the oversimplified direction of the mixups the newer characters had.
He is no longer Big Boss He is Large Manager On a serious note, this is awful. Besides the long arm change and zone, this doesn’t fix any glaring issues with him. It just makes him so broken the old issues don’t matter. And the devs still can’t figure out that the impale should be confirmed from light parties only.
My first impression is that he got too much, but some of these changes look good. Hyper armor on the second heavy looks good. Double lights into finisher looks good, wish they kept the enhanced side lights though. Would make chain side light/heavy a soft mix up against good players. Being able to feint his shove after heavy looks good, and gives him a mix up outside of his finisher. The animation does need work though. Zone being a chain starter into armor is a decent alternative to the insane recovery, but I will be sad to see the current version go. Triple light chains don't really do anything for him, and will make people salty. He doesn't need the guaranteed light after opener heavys. The infinite loop on the top heavy finisher needs to go. If it did then you would have a choice between guaranteed damage from the light or a feightable bash for continued pressure, which would still be strong. Armor on the unlockable finisher looks insane, but is the sort of experimentation I would expect in a TG. No more stuns outside of light parrys is sad, but I will happily trade annoying stuns for a usable moveset. And the impale. I don't understand the hate for impale, as it is only the 4th most damaging heavy parry punish, and counter attacking is one of his primary selling points. The range nerf was warranted, but if cent/monger/JJ can do 40/30/27 with a wall on a heavy parry, I don't see why lawbringers needs to be nerfed below the live versions 25.
The problem with the impale is that not only you can get almost a light parry punish on a wallsplat (if not a ledge), but that he can also chain out of it; compare it to something like warmonger's impale, which has less range and put you on neutral, is easy to see why it is considered too strong.
@@imdrowsy4526 Of the 3 characters I mentioned, Cent and JJ get more damage on a heavy parry with a wall and can also chain out of it. The only advantage lawbringer has over them is the impale range, which they are nerfing, and stun, which they are getting rid of. Warmonger will have better range on the wall splat, and even though she can't chain she still pressures afterwards with superior lights or a feint if the opponent starts dodge attacking immediately. I get that 25 damage is good on a heavy parry, but that is the whole point. He is a defensive character without any real defensive tech, just good punishes when he parrys.
As a lawbringer main, don't get me wrong I'm obviously happy he's getting a TG but bloody hell they went overkill and I can agree with the points you've made here. I was expecting impale to be removed off heavy parry and made it his forward dodge heavy or something. In chain feintable bash?? Not needed at all. Triple lights I don't like tbh. Damage is Farr to high. The only thing I like is how he can blind justice, to swift justice finisher Back into unblockable. Personally I think that's cool. All I really wanted was for him to bash after opener light :/
As a Law main since the day this game Launched, I agree this is too much. I did want some more options to deal with the progressively faster game For Honor has become, but I don't like how easy it's going to be to win fights. A bit of pride comes from a degree of struggle, patience, luck, and skill.
Hey Feeze when can we expect a vid on Nuxia's vast amount of TG changes? Surely with all the time the team dedicated to her and only gave LB this paltry list of changes she certainly deserves her own vid.
FH players when samurai buff: Noo you can’t they’ll be OP!!!😡 FH players when knight buff: Finally they buff best character! Deus Vult glory to Bubisoft!😍
I'm torn on what I would like from a good LB update. On one hand, I want him to stay more defensive, but a risky style, which would mean he has to go for parries. I get this would probably be annoying, but it would be easy to fight into for most characters due to bash attacks. On the other I get the need to have him be able to attack, but that would mean he would need to get the same 500ms bash with a blue-orange 50/50 or a charged bash like every other rework. For what i know id like, the in chain zone here is nice, though I wish they'd keep the neutral zone the same to do the full block counter thing. It is actually some point of high skill to pull of consistently and makes the other guy think for once too. The impaling charge I think would make a good roll catch if they reduced the range and removed the wall splat + ledging ability, make it give a light after and do between 14 and 16 damage with the chain starting. But beyond those two things I really don't have any idea what to do to LB that would fulfill everything to make him good to play and fight, and not lose him to becoming "Warden, but..." like most the other knights.
"But fridge lb is super weak I know he has great feats great parry punishes and oneof the best unblockables in the game but he needs buffing cause he's my favourite hero" Some redditor probably The fact they give him all.this after taking away from other characters that had the same complains is mind blowing to me. Where's his chase why is impale on heavy parry still a thing. With this tg and the dodge attack light parries coming i don't know if I'm gonna keep playing if they make these dumb decisions/changes. Maybe look at feats, other characters who need tweaking, dmg numbers on certain heros, single.pick. but I'm coping cause reddit knows best
I haven't played a single PvP match in this game in 6 years. I still play it on a consistent basis, regardless. I believe your social experiment theory; the team just finally got fed up with the playerbase's suggestions and went, "Fine! Here you go; you think you can design shit, here's your work, we've done it for ya!"
As a lawbringer main, I am very happy with most of the changes. I’m also glad we have a testing grounds first, because I think that he might have a little too much now. I mostly wanted to be able to actually use my light button, have armor that isn’t a worse version that’s locked behind a feat, and have a “slightly” faster attack speed.
I also don’t like how fast he’s swinging the halberd. I want to see and feel the animation of him swinging a heavy weapon of justice. Not swinging an oversized, weightless stick like Highlander does with his GIANT F--ING CLAYMORE! Lastly, I want my old bash animation back.
Lawbringer was already decent. He was A tier. He doesn't need hyperarmor to be viable. His 500 ms bash, broken punishes, and chain pressure is really good. He doesn't need to be a raid boss.
@@arkhamasylum8972 his problem was neutral pressure and having one singular opener that’s why I don’t think he’s great. It’s crazy feeling the difference between using jorm compared to LB. Also he definitely deserves hyperarmor on his heavies as they are quite slow and he should be hard to interrupt during team fights.
Wow, it's almost like we could have seen such a rework coming. If only there was a pattern of terrible reworks prior to Lawbringe's. Theoretically around Frozen Shores. Something of actual substance, Lawbringer already can chain into long arm from his bash. So unblockable heavy into feint-able bash into unblockable that is guard break free. So after taking a unblockable heavy, they can bash for either a feint to GB heavy, or on hit light or frame advantage bash that gives a free heavy. Suffering.
Was hoping for a complete rework on his shove, bringing hyper armour on shove back and his recovery as well. Chain lights. Shove on light chains. The current long arm changes or the ability to use it as a chain finisher. That's it. Or... If it's a no to hyper armour shove, feignable chain finisher long arm.
Thank you freeze and the rest of the main subreddit for keeping Lawbringer the same. Thank you for keeping the same problems that Lawbringer had pre-rework. Thank you for keeping this character the same turtle that he was pre-rework. Thank you for your incessant whining. Thank you for making sure that this rework addressed nearly nothing while turning him into a turtle-parry machine that can put you in 32 dmg blender. Reddit does it again.
Maybe give lawbringer undodgeable heavies and lights for the attacks that don't have unblockable. Also give him more tracking on his shoves, maybe then he'll be a decent character.
Another (minor) thing the devs should consider for LB is to make his running speed as slow as HL‘s or even slower. If he gets that hyper armour, that is.
0:54 I'd like to argue that ubisoft IS, along with the community, guilty of sheer hypocrisy. I was angry about orochi losing his triple light chain then, and I'm even more angry about it now.
The warriors den stream said that the guaranteed lights are only on opener and finisher heavies unless i missed something. Impale specifically becomes a chain starter, so you go to a mid chain heavy, so it's only that 1+20 damage.
I might be biased on thisone since I enjoy playing lawbringer a lot. But here is my thoughts, tho I think ppl are a bit jumping the gun without even testing the changes. Lights: give him Light Light chain to access the finisher. Keep the side Light enhanced, get rid off the 3 hit lights. HA: give his finishers hyperarmour but not all combo heavies. Keep the extra light after the heavy finishers for more dmg (maybe, tone it down abit) but make it to stop ur chain and not directly link to another finisher. Top heavy stuns: get rid of the combo top heavy stuns but keep the stun on the finisher and light riposte. Impale: i liked the dmg nerf, its a strong move on live FH atm. But since nearly all dodge attacks are going to be light parries, it will be baiting enemies to dodge attacks and then boom lightparry punish them. The new inchain shoulderbash or icehockey type crosschecking: Remove it and insted make shove from neutral chargeable similar to cents punch or warmongers claws. I liked the new zone attack chain starter as well to get into chains. Longarm: welcomed changes. All in all I agree mosly to what mr Freeze said on his video. Lawbro needs some buffs to be more fun to play (I mainly struggle to reach his combo finishers, because with no HA I get interrupted often by enemies or my teammates unless I have juggernaut active) as and against, but imo he is far from weak on live FH and this rework going to testing grounds is way too OP and overkill in terms of HA, chainflow and dmg. Ubisoft please reconsider these changes. These are my two cents coming from 3000 hours of FH and lawbro being one of my mains, even tho im far from being a comp player.
I used to play lawbringer a lot back before the marching fire update. He was extremely strong due to shove on block and how the other characters functioned. I dont mind how lawbringer is now, except I always thought he needed some hyber armor either for his last or middle chain heavies. So i certainly don't mind the inclusion of it now in both. However the amount of damage he can put out is a bit much. Now, the shove in the middle of his chain is nice, but i feel making it faintable is a bit much. Otherwise, I think he needs to be tested and see how he works. Though personally I think his parrying aspect is what made him unique, whish they would've built on that.
I would have only wanted to see A light light heavy combo. It would have also been cool to see the flip move be feintable And usable mid chain. And of course hyperarmored heavies. But that's all he needed. And mabey keep the stam drains for the reposts but remove for regular tol heavys. JJ kinda has the same thing going on .
Impale: 1 damage into 28 - BAD Unlimited chain: 32 damage + 4 damage, hyper armored and unblockable - GOOD Not saying Impale was fun or good. But them seeing a bigger issue with impale than this freak is baffling
The only Lawbringer misses now is undodgeble property, would be cool if all his heavy had that properly in addition to armor and unblockable, so opponents have to guess parry or not without any other options. Just kidding, but he is so busted I wouldn't have been surprised if his zone was undodgeble. It's kinda sad that heros just kinda stopped having weakness. In early seasons characters were more diverse in their playstyle, but as players become better, balance was needed so everyone slowly convergent evolutioned into fundamentaly same character.
I'm not the most well versed lawbringer player I have a decent amount of playtime, but the guaranteed things I wanted for lawbringer was a three light chain, change to hyper armor on the top heavy finisher, and some sort of buff to the long arm. I wanted the light chains simply for more options instead of only having to throw and feint heavies constantly. For the top heavy finisher it always made sense to me that due to the long wind-up having hyper armor was better than unblockable for trades and such. For long arm, I would have been interested to see what it would be like if it was feintable, whether that would be good or bad I don't know (that's what testing grounds are for though right?) . There are other things on the reworks that I like and dislike, but I'll leave it at that.
I've not played in a while but I still watch Freeze's videos. I love hearing angry Freeze, but the trade off is the game's probably having a bad change happen.
Some things to note to not go full hate train - 36 dmg top heavy seems to have same speed as live, this means that a early side dodge beats it and a feint into GB, dmg should be at best 31 or 32 but is not a move for 1v1s - light riposte at 16 dmg (should be 15) but lower overall dmg than live, live gives stun that chains into another light into unblockable, at average I deal 25 dmg and going to 16 is a nerf funnily, also most heroes have a way to deal 15 or more dmg from heavy parries why such fus?, (JJ sifu is 16 too). - Impaling riposte looks to be a chain starter, meaning it chains into chain heavy, said heavy wasn't shown to have a guaranteed light on hit so dmg would be 21, considering we have a jorm, JJ, warmonger, cent and a lot of high dmg punishes is not an outlier in the game. - Light chain doesn't fit the hero, better to give him offense after a light than to give him such weird chain - Blind justice or top heavy after a parry has stun to make the next unblockable hard to parry on animation, I don't see this as a bad thing, stuns should be reworked not eliminated, take away the stam dmg tho - With the dodge changes he has a viable in chain shove mix up, no need for feintable bash.
tbh the only thing i like is the zone change and maybe the hyper armor top heavy just because it is so easily interuptable (speeding it up is probably better?) but what im more confused about is why didnt they push the nuxia change into live ages ago it doesnt seem like that much of a change? or could it possibly just be completely broken
The first I heard of this were my friends gushing how 'damn LB looks good now, repeating unblockable is fun!' Which absolutely scared me, so I watched the video on it and my reaction was: 'Guys, this is absolutely broken OP'. They legitimately waved me off saying LB is D-tier currently and this rework will make him 'worth playing'. Absolutely flabbergasted. I have to thank you for making me feel vindicated on my original opinion. I'm closing in on 70 reps with him, but if this rework goes live, I'm not gonna feel good getting there.
I wish I was surprised. People were saying he was D tier when he had 45 damage light parries that drained most of you stam as well as shove on block, so of course the live version that isn't completely busted would still be seen as bad. I hate the LB main stereotype as I am one as well, but god it is way too true most of the time
You do the best For honor rant videos, I admit. I think I'm in a similar, but less developed boat, in that the only change that stood out as AWESOME was the zone can combo
I feel like they should take some more expert opinions from the competitive community on how to balance/rework a hero and implement or at least try more of those. I've played on and off since launch and I was excited for the LB rework, but admittedly I didn't see the immediate problems with these changes until they were pointed out. Therefore utilising a lay person like me to make balance suggestions would be a disaster.
@@MasterCorvid I would say the opposite, but regardless ubi should definitely mix their feedback in the future. Listening to only one section of the playerbase for changes is never, ever good IMO.
I used to call lbs top heavy Hiroshima and Nagasaki because they you get bombed each time you eat one but now it's like multiple orbital cannon strikes
I just want to keep the hyper armor and the unlitmites chains, take out the guaranteed light after every heavy. Change the damage, take away the feint bash, and finally redo the animation. Everything else I like. The hyper armor I like, unlimited combos, I don’t mind the unblockable because now that people can see it shouldn’t be as much of an issue. It’s still pretty slow it’s just a tool to scare the opponent. I don’t mind the impale they just need to change the damage to make it similar to like warmongers so he gets a certain amount and it has its own animation. But honestly I like the idea because they did listen to the needs. I hated getting my attacks interrupted because LB was soooo slow and people would just light so I couldn’t fight back. Then ofc he could only start his chain with a heavy so u would get parry. I’m not saying this is perfect but the knights finally have a party specialist that is also a hyper armor beast and I like it. Ever other faction has one and LB should have it. U shouldn’t be able to light someone out of their heavy if they are a tank like LB. Again all I think they need is change damage, new animation for bash, make the impale of wall splat do an animation on its own to get a certain amount of damage (like warmonger) and make the lights not guaranteed.
Ngl if they kept his new chain and the scaling properties for heavies (2nd heavy hyper armor and final heavy hyper armor plus unblockable) I think he’d be fine, no need for shortcuts or infinite orange combos. They could even take away his stuns from everything but top heavy.
They won’t just shittalk their animator on a live stream dude, she is literally sitting right there, people in real life don’t behave like motherless assholes from reddit, you know.
Does nobody actualy listen to the warriors den jesus They literally said the animations are unfinished because its in a testing stage. If the changes go through to live they will be cleaned up
on the topic of the head bash animation feintable omegalol bash it could be salvaged if you just scrap eveything that comes BEFORE the pole starts getting implanted into the floor and it should just be imo just a forward dodge bash animation or sumn
Not to ‘well actually’ you but they did nerf the damage on impale because the heavy it confirms is the midchain heavy that doesn’t have the confirmed light afterwards. So it is less damage than before, plus without stun. And since the impale counts as a chain starter now hopefully there’s not enough time to get the longarm after impale.
law didn't need all of this, some of the changes are honestly what all the law mains wanted, hyper on something of his, kinda all they wanted, but yeah ffs ubi stop giving everyone a faint able bash and or dodge attacks like it would fix the character and not just make it more annoying or easier to fight them (especially now that dodges that can't be fainted are light parries) also yeah again, screw stuns, I have enough bad memories of the day one raider rework when he still had stun tap...
Imagine being one Nuxia in an entire match of TG lawbringer. 😢😭 In the TG, nobody is gonna try Nuxia. She will be ignored and no data will come in for her new trap. 😡 This lawbringer rework must be stopped. He needs nerfs for his parry punishes and needs a 2 light hit combo and maybe hyper armor for his 2nd chain heavy. That’s it.
The first thing i did when i saw the changes in general and the rework was having a rant and then announcing to my friends that i would move on to another game. Everybody was telling me that it's "just the testing grounds" but what is gonna change if we don't take a stance against it immediately and just play it down as another bad testing grounds? I am honestly losing my hope in this game.
Well at least it's going to testing grounds and hopefully they realize what they have done. The problem is that if most of the tgs changes are scrapped then it will be another month for another tgs. I know they have limited resources but the rate they release these tgs is too slow.
I don't know, I think he needs more hyper armour to truly be good. And more damage. Also make long arm uninstall the opponents game.
100% Agree.

HIghlander's guardbreak punish is a 12 damage light.
Technically he can get the 1st hit of his zone can't he? Still abysmal though when compared to this monster. Especially since HL's zone takes so much stam to perform
They don't care dude they don't care....
@@TF-Austin Yes indeed ! It does slightly more damage but you lose the opportunity to chain, so it's only really useful to finish someone, sadly..
@@pingouuiin I completely forgot his zone doesn't even chain into his other offence, RIP. Are you a highlander main by any chance? Is that possible or would the offensive stance light not be guaranteed?
@@TF-Austin Unfortunately no, I'm far from being an Higlander main but I'm looking forward to any changes he might receive because he really deserves it
And actually no I don't think you can, going into offensive stance from neutral do take some time, but what you can do is just perform a normal light which can flow into offensive stance.
You could however be able to do what you're trying to do from any parry

We just wanted a 500ms bash and a light light heavy 😭😭
they should've made a forward dodge heavy in guard as his out of guard sprint heavy for a roll catcher

@@cy.istooshort yes like Shugoki
his forward shove is already 500ms, minus the dodge time, but if you spam dodge and guardbreak at the same time you pretty much bash instantly as if it was a neutral bash anyway. His side shoves are 600ms.
What he needed was a rollcatcher. His offense was fine with the buffed shove I think except that he had no way to catch escaping opponents. He has a nice balance between counter attacks/turtling (which should always be his main point imo no matter what) and semi agressive plays imo
Edit: his shove mix up is also 500ms and combined with high hitstun for his finishers its actually a lot harder to dodge than you might think

I think that the knew strategy for reworks is that the dev team puts the most overpowered and "broken" version of the hero in the testing ground, they see the community's reaction and then bring the hero to a balanced and standard level,
But then again they did release THAT version of reworked Conquer, so they really need to find a way to optimize the testing grounds.
You done goofed
he can't keep getting away with it!
Is just unfortunate that they chose to leave it on light parries considering dodge attacks were planned to change to be mostly light parries which seems that LB will be able to bait quite a lot in this iteration, having also the feintable bash to parry and put an opponent into stun will make ganking/teamfights very obnoxious vs him
Ewww it’s dem

I thought that Lawbringer just needed a few tweaks. I like the full light chain, impale nerf, and making the parry light chain to finisher. Idk why they thought he doesn't need a forward dodge to catch rolls. Everyrhing else is just making me loose faith in UBI.
When I saw the lawbringer changes I knew freeze was going to be losing his mind in a video about them.
The only problem of LB was the lack of proper openers, if they sped up the bash he would've probably been fine, maybe just give him light light heavy and that's it.
And a roll catcher
@@jpolka24 Roll catcher don't think so much, LB is more about demolishing the oponent slowly with parries and punishes, not so much about chasing

Heck, dven his long had ganking potential and his zone had low recovery. He also was one of the fews to punish safe bashe like conq, bp and wl. But what people wanted to have ha and triple lights. They cant do shit with lb, thats why they wanted a rework.
@Nick Kiggers It is, as is the chain bash I believe
Me: *sees lawbringer changes* "oh boy freeze aint gonna be happy"
Freeze: post a video
Me: alright here we go
I didn't know that Law was so weak as to need a rework like that. He always seemed full of fight options.
His main issue was this: No roll catcher, high heavy damage parry and no good openers and no HA on top unblockable. Simple things yet they gave him all this garbage as a "rework"
90% of his playerbase can’t play him or just struggles so they complain. Gets really annoying
His offense was lackluster from neutral. His punishes for parries are one of the best in game and he lacks chain options. If you dont know how to play him you cant really get use out of him in 1v1 and on high level play he doesnt really get into his offense if he doesnt get a parry because everything in his kit is reactable
@@Emilio-lz5ux Exactly, things that needed punctual adjustments.
They've said that they purposely make the character blatantly op in order to nerf what people dislike about it.
All of this on the back of terrible animations and gutted identity somehow they made the character unfun to play and unfun to play against at the same time as an “improvement”
Disappointed as a lawbringer main myself, for what it’s worth. I enjoyed having a good character that didn’t rely on the oversimplified direction of the mixups the newer characters had.
Don't worry freeze, with lawbringer hero fest giving 2x XP for him people will totally use lawbringer, you'll see plenty in the tg
He is no longer Big Boss
He is Large Manager
On a serious note, this is awful. Besides the long arm change and zone, this doesn’t fix any glaring issues with him. It just makes him so broken the old issues don’t matter. And the devs still can’t figure out that the impale should be confirmed from light parties only.
The lawbringer rework segment of the stream was pretty much Mr incredible uncanny meme.

"But fridge lb is super weak I know he has great feats great parry punishes and oneof the best unblockables in the game but he needs buffing cause he's my favourite hero"

The fact they give him all.this after taking away from other characters that had the same complains is mind blowing to me. Where's his chase why is impale on heavy parry still a thing. With this tg and the dodge attack light parries coming i don't know if I'm gonna keep playing if they make these dumb decisions/changes.

Nuxia's experimental change is gonna fall behind the sidelines sitting next to this monstrosity. Her feedback is going to be drowned out by his.
Dude ... thank you so much
Wow, it's almost like we could have seen such a rework coming.
Suffering.
Fr when was the last good rework?

And he says the funny ad mortem every time he tanks a hit with HA.
By the way don't they have nerf shinibi parry riposte because it deal too much damage? But gave the same think to lawbringer?
Freeze over here losing his sanity. Maybe this is what Ubisoft was after all along
If he gets that hyper armour, that is.
this is why you are not part of the team that balances things

The warriors den stream said that the guaranteed lights are only on opener and finisher heavies unless i missed something. Impale specifically becomes a chain starter, so you go to a mid chain heavy, so it's only that 1+20 damage.
Ubi out here revealing the protagonist
Oh boy 4 heavy parries leaving a 120 health character with 8 health thank God the issue has totally been fixed
Impale:
1 damage into 28 - BAD
Unlimited chain:
32 damage + 4 damage, hyper armored and unblockable - GOOD
Not saying Impale was fun or good.
Really all I thought he needed was the long arm fix and hyper armor. All of that other stuff is kinda crazy
Some things to note to not go full hate train
- 36 dmg top heavy seems to have same speed as live, this means that a early side dodge beats it and a feint into GB, dmg should be at best 31 or 32 but is not a move for 1v1s
- light riposte at 16 dmg (should be 15) but lower overall dmg than live, live gives stun that chains into another light into unblockable, at average I deal 25 dmg and going to 16 is a nerf funnily, also most heroes have a way to deal 15 or more dmg from heavy parries why such fus?, (JJ sifu is 16 too).
- Light chain doesn't fit the hero, better to give him offense after a light than to give him such weird chain
- Blind justice or top heavy after a parry has stun to make the next unblockable hard to parry on animation, I don't see this as a bad thing, stuns should be reworked not eliminated, take away the stam dmg tho
- With the dodge changes he has a viable in chain shove mix up, no need for feintable bash.
yo yo yo April is getting closer they better be messing with us
tbh the only thing i like is the zone change and maybe the hyper armor top heavy just because it is so easily interuptable (speeding it up is probably better?) but what im more confused about is why didnt they push the nuxia change into live ages ago it doesnt seem like that much of a change? or could it possibly just be completely broken
LB getting a massive buff meanwhile Centurion's Punch Tracking haven't been fix for half a year
The return of Big Boss is upon us
I feel like they should take some more expert opinions from the competitive community on how to balance/rework a hero and implement or at least try more of those.
I've played on and off since launch and I was excited for the LB rework, but admittedly I didn't see the immediate problems with these changes until they were pointed out. Therefore utilising a lay person like me to make balance suggestions would be a disaster.
Listening to the competitive community is what caused this. They need to pay more attention to the whole community. Not just a part of it.
@@MasterCorvid I would say the opposite, but regardless ubi should definitely mix their feedback in the future. Listening to only one section of the playerbase for changes is never, ever good IMO.
@@MasterCorvid most casuals actually wanted an lb rework. Haven't heard competitive players complaining about law
@@puresign683 Everyone wanted an LB rework. He needed one. This just ain't it. Lol
I like that u call Jormungander "George", because I call Gryphon "Gregor"
I thought Lawbringer was pretty fair as-is. He stressed knowledge and competence of the fundamentals and familiarity with hero kits.
Maybe remove the hyper armor from the orange heavies.
The new LB looks great, keep coping
I'm keen, and like the look of his lights.
The fact that they acted like the bash animation si good tells me sometimes how clueless they are…
They won’t just shittalk their animator on a live stream dude, she is literally sitting right there, people in real life don’t behave like motherless assholes from reddit, you know.
Does nobody actualy listen to the warriors den jesus
They literally said the animations are unfinished because its in a testing stage. If the changes go through to live they will be cleaned up
@@stingray12323 nothing like that was said specifically about animations thats why people are mad... They talked about dmg number thou ..
on the topic of the head bash animation feintable omegalol bash
it could be salvaged if you just scrap eveything that comes BEFORE the pole starts getting implanted into the floor and it should just be imo just a forward dodge bash animation or sumn
They should have kept the enhanced property and just give him a 2 lights chain. That's insane to make him go from 1 light to 3...
This season really is Heresy.
If this rework goes live, I want my ranged attacks back.
Imagine being one Nuxia in an entire match of TG lawbringer. 😢😭
In the TG, nobody is gonna try Nuxia. She will be ignored and no data will come in for her new trap. 😡
This lawbringer rework must be stopped.
