It was an honor meeting you and your family at the Japanese Spring and Fall festivals this year! If you remember me and my wife (who is also Japanese!), I am also a drummer in a few different bands in Las Vegas. Yeah. Yoyoka is already at professional level and Ellen will be there shortly. They love classic rock, which is cool , but by no means restricting them. I can see them doing some massively cool Jazz Rock.
Shido is also a natural showman. His sister is obviously a world-class talent, enough for the family to leave their home in order to let her fulfill her dreams, but I have have hopes for her baby brother too.
I would pay real money to see Ellen and Yoyoka's band. To see the joy they have playing music is worth any amount of the ticket price. Bravo to their parents!!
People there, don't know Yoyoka's talent is right off the Chart. Though the Roof indeed!
I admit, I can't wait though for her to let her thick hair grow, like every Rock Star should. She is admired by the very BEST of Rock Stars.!

LOL - I Loved Yoyoka carefully scraping that annoying leaf clean before she set it aside 🚫🍁🙂. To Yoyoka: Welcome to the USA young lady. I know it is huge and intimidating, but I've found that around the world people are basically the same no matter where you go. A few really good ones, a few really bad ones, and 95% just normal people who want to get along with everyone. I wish you the Best of luck for both you and your family in this new adventure.

New home, new school, new drum room... But, from what I can see, things are going well. You have friends there, you are already a star in your new school, the equipment has arrived from Japan and Yoyoka's drum room is open...
And you made some good connections. Especially with Sheila E., her father Pete Escovedo (also a great drummer) and Escovedo family (many of them also musicians). Since they are from Oakland, I hope you will cooperate together in future.
And Bootsy, I'm watching you. I have not forgotten your promise :)
Anyway, I hope the most stressful period is over now, and you will have a peaceful and productive time ahead.

Welcome to Las Vegas! My town for the last 40 years. I hope you all will live here. The weather is always nice and, at Lee Canyon you can ski! It's "only" about 45 min. away from town in the beautiful mountains and the food? Well pick a country and then go!

It will be nice when you find a home that will allow for a music studio. Finding a remote home or one that you can sound proof a studio for music is challenging. At least you are seeing a lot of different areas, so you can maximize your finding odds of the right place. Happy hunting.

Make sure you understand the HOA rules, they can be expensive and very restrictive.

House prices in these areas are destined to fall, experts say.
I worry about neighbors complaining about drum noise especially in an HOA.
Subdivision houses are terrible. I hope the family learns what an "HOA" is before they buy a house. No drumming in HOA homes!!

If you're still looking one piece of advice. Stay away from homes that are part of a HOA ( Homeowners association ) . They can and most do run your life almost like a cult. This is NO JOKE. That would be the first question to ask. if it's an HOA . If they say yes you should be out the door before they make it to the s in yes. Especially being a band and practicing your instruments and songs.

I'd feel better if they lived in Vegas, rather than L.A. I'm from California, and miss my home state, but there's too much craziness there now. They'll be safer in Nevada. And their power grid is probably more stable.

Vegas would be excellent. I have a little advice for you all. You should wear shaded sunglasses. The sun is especially bright in Las Vagas and Nevada in general. It can cause damage to your vision. (That is true all over California and Nevada really) YOYOKA IS NUMBER ONE!!!!!!
The United States is running out of water, and you are moving to the desert?
If Japanese food is "indispensable in your lives", Las Vegas is it! "Entertainment" is going to be your livelihood; Las Vegas is it! Just don't learn casino gambling!

Finding a home LV is much easier, and affordable, if you don't mind the heat, LV is the way to go for a home and you be a short drive to LA. Apple Valley I say no, it's not great neighborhood or safe. It's so far you might as well be in LV and enjoy all the shopping and eatery.
WAY CHEAPER HOUSING IN EUREKA.
