Well I loved this travelogue, and I'm really glad you guys are meeting people and making friends - and wowing the locals haha. Fantastic clips of jam sessions too, I can't get enough of them!
And just now another odd thing happened. I loaded up a hard drive from a mystery computer that had come into my shop a while back to see if there were any important documents the owner might wish to get. I clicked on the Videos folder, and in it are two Yoyoka videos! How strange is that; and very cool of course.
This person really did have good taste lol.

@@i.ti.t2964 One was definitely a Bruno Mars track, from that recent project of his with other great funk artists. The other... I can't recall now I'm at work, but it was a softer, more modern R&B track.

It's so funny you say that Andrew! We know she has World Class talent, even a young rival of the incredible Sina. I bet, this stunning young girl was just teasing the class and not trying to show off and make them all leave.
I am sure Yoyoka will dumb it down a lot and is anxious to learn what her classmates can teach her and fit in nicely.

You wouldn't be surprised if they were surprised. Everything Yoyoka does is a Surprise. Yoyo is a like a child prodigy and we all know it! Smart people do not always fit in. Thank you for your welcome comment Andy! We are all cheering for Yoyoka and Family!

As alway Yoyoka's drumming is amazing! I wonder if she has ever seen video clips of Buddy Rich drum solos. It would be interesting if she watch some of them and then commented on them.
You should try some jazz drumming as well - or some more progressive drumming. That could be fun for you, I think.

I hope Soma's family gets used to what it takes to live and work in America. It's a tough world. Yokoka should go to a school where she can learn to read sheet music and get to play with players of many different genres. She's at a good level for his age. As Billy Gibbons said 'practice, practice, practice, and then practice some more'.

HI Yoyoka! I love your videos. When you travel, it would be funny if you stopped off at the local music store and you told them you wanted to start playing drums. Have them sit behind the kit and give you intro basics, then you get on and wail! LOL. I would love to see that! Enjoy your time in USA. Be safe!

Maybe made worse by changing food, maybe more sugar and fat than in Japan? Parts of Japan have the reputation for eating a much healthier diet born out by research.

Yeah, it influences a lot. Yoyoka certainly had her meals at home, prepared by her mom, but it seems that family is still not adapted. Japanese cuisine is very different from western cuisine, we Japanese eat a lot veggies and sweets contain little sugar, not to mention that the portions are smaller. I’m a weird Japanese woman who doesn’t like Japanese food, my diet is based on the Mediterranean diet but I know that Yoyoka likes salmon a lot. I hope she gets well and doesn’t get addicted to fast food. Peace and happiness for you, for everyone! 🤗
@@marciashiraishi5891 One of my concerns is becoming addicted to US fast food. US fast food has been perfected over several generations to be addictive. That addiction might happen as she tries to fit in with new friends. I love salmon too, from sashimi to quiche to fish pie. But farmed salmon aren't so great. However, its her life. She needs to make her own mistakes and learn. But, the US seems a worse place to do that than Japan. (I've lived in the US, but not Japan, so I don't _really_ know)

Take care, it’s easy to succumb to the temptation of fast food, but recovering health is more hard. I honestly hope our girl Yo-Yo is not led into other harmful habits. Stay well and safe, watch out for the flu 😷🤒🤧

I've travelled the world over. I think I can say in full confidence that the San Francisco Bay Area is probably one of the most beautiful cities in the entire world. The politics are absolutely the worst, most backwards, wrongest, self-ruinous, corrupt, evil and inept in the entire world.
I’m sure a young, talented drummer cares about the politics! Maybe we should also discuss the failed economic policies of Kansas? Do think they want to hear about all the different angles all sides of political structure fails it’s people? Or should we stick to music?
Hyperbole +1. Go spend some time overseas in some Third World locations to see what extreme corruption creates.. You'll be begging to come back to SF. lol

@@wolflarson71 I once tried living in San Francisco. Unlike other hells around the world - it has the blessing of being in America, so it has no excuse. It takes a special brand of backwards thinking ineptitude and corruption to make poo out of gold. Be they musicians, engineers or what: they’re looking to buy a house, pick a city, choose their neighbors. Kinda a big decision. Might wanna consider the things that will effect them most, yeah?
