New 2021 Tacoma TRD 4x4 off road premium long bed in black (virtually a newer programmed version of his truck). Transmission issues seem to mostly be fixed for this year. As long as you know how to use the throttle properly, it's easy to let it program itself to your driving habbits. I can make it shift as needed, most of the time... We also have a 19 4runner TRD off road premium. Overall, I do prefer the powertrain in the 4runner though
Great comparison video!👍🏼. One question, is the driving position in the 4Runner the same as the Tacoma? I felt like when I was driving the Tacoma my legs were out in front of me as if I was sitting on the ground. Thanks
4Runner is way better, the bottom seat length is also longer to almost meet the back of my knees (I’m 6’2”). The cab is way different, a pillar is a lot further in 4Runner, feels like a lot more space.
I'm currently planning on buying an FJ, and trying to learn as much as I can on them. One thing I wasn't expecting to hear was them being bad in the snow. I'm looking into an FJ since they do everything I want to, can operate as a daily driver, and thought they could handle weather, since my current car cannot. I'll be living in the Palouse in WA, so the terrain is super hilly, winters are very cold, snowy and icey. Is the driving experience on ice so bad in relation to the Tacoma and 4Runner, or is it genuinely not good to have on the roads during those times? If that's the case then I'd probably have to re-evaluate looking into one, which I would hate to do cause I've loved em since I was a kid.
I don't know if mine is an anomaly or not but its inferior to my 4Runner and Tacoma in the snow. Those two handle anything I throw at them just fine and like I said, the FJ can be terrifying at times.
Hi Mike. Very good videos. Can i ask you one questions. I watched few of your videos about shocks for 4 runner and Tacoma. The question is: is the shocks are different for 4runner and Tacoma? Is it possible to install shocks from Tacoma in 4runner? Belstein 5100 specific.
Great video with great information, love my 2015 4Runner Trail Edition!
Good video. I chose the 4runner over the Tacoma for some of the reasons mentioned. Had a tundra prior and Tacoma just felt too small.
Good video! Love my 6-speed FJ cruiser, like all the plastic on the inside, easy to keep clean
great comparison video, thanks for the thorough explanation
I love my 07 fj cruiser. It's perfect for what I want. I would rock a 4runner also
money makin mike is a boss
Mike... your conclusion is spot on in my opinion. Thanks for the comparison review. 😉👍
Love that FJ!!

4Runner all the way!!!
All cool vehicles, love my manual Tacoma though,. It the most family friendly but that's why we have an SUV to I guess 😎
That’s my dream to have all three just a 2nd gen Tacoma
Thanks !!!! 4 runner bay
Happy Father’s Day 🙂

They are different,. The 4Runner offers a more upright position that you might like more - can be adjusted with the electric seats too.

Would you buy black again?

They look identical in size and design but most websites don't show them as cross-compatible so I'm not 100% sure.
Thanks Mike
We want the 2021 Subaru Outback Turbo review 😉
I’m in the market for one.
Haha, well there could be one coming... wait and see :-)
Where’s the off-road videos?
