If no one has said it, thanks for doing an entire build on an episode. RUclipsrs have this horrible habit of needing a teaser, a cliffhanger, or a "I can't show you yet" in every single video to keep their audience hooked. Keep doing builds like this and you won't need any gimmicks. Get em Throtl.
@@mathewlepp1723 completely agree. Steps/stages I’m more than ok with, but when something is clearly done, “but I can’t show you” to create some mystique to come back is more what I’m referring to. I know that drive. done it a few times. By best time from central Texas to LA California was around 17 hours . Congratulations. I need my truck rebuilt and done up right like this.
Throtl deserves much more attention! They look out for a lot of people and they do it by doing what they love. Always a smile on my face while watching ❤️
They make custom winch mounts for the FJ cruiser. They bolt directly to the chassis. That welded metal bracket will tear right off the car in a serious recovery.
As much as I love the build.. its still painful to watch such a rare version of an FJ get pulled apart and some of its cool factory options replaced... NOT complaining at all, I just always loved this white Trail Teams Edition, my favorite version of all time!
Looks awesome! Only problem I can see is the winch install! That front bar is not designed to hold a winch of that size! The first time he uses it under full load it's going to rip itself and the bar off the front of the truck!!
Congrats Peter!! Was looking forward to seeing this build and I wasn't disappointed. Kudos for riding the Grom from Texas to pick up the FJ too, that's awesome.
My initial thoughts exactly. Nothing should hang below the rear bumper. Including the rear exiting exhaust. I know from experience. I have an fj with dual exhaust exiting in the rear. Biggest mistake I've made on my build. Wound up cutting them back after they got squished. I also would have gotten an actual bumper made for a winch. I don't like how it petrudes out so far. Also, if it's not made for it I'd always be worried that it wouldn't take the extreme forces a winch puts on the bumper when in use. He's probably gonna wind up wanting a second battery if he eventually puts a fridge in the back. I wouldn't trust the one battery with the solar panel in the middle of no where. The colors definitely not my taste but thats just me. Screams mall crawler to me. I don't mean to sound like I am criticizing every decision made on this build but if this guy is serious about offroading this truck than these are things that need to be considered. If he's sticking to dirt roads not far off the beaten path and not using the winch to much than he'll probably be fine.
There is plenty of room inside in the rear cargo bay behind the plastic panels where they could have mounted it too, but being honest one of my fjs hasnt got the extra petrol tank under there and nothing ever gets under there ie water or dirt as its in a good spot.
I like that you guys not only show what you replace, but that you actually do preventative work while doing these builds. The level of professional care it shows is awesome. Wish I could afford to have you guys work my mk3 supra over for me

A lot of great upgrades! Only things i would have changed from an off road prospective are proper frame mounted rock sliders, and an integrated winch bumper. The later could just be personal taste though.
As I was watching this I was wondering why it didn't have proper rocksliders rather than the rock catchers. And why they added a winch to that bumper. Cool that he got a free winch. But that is definitely not a proper way to mount a winch and it isn't going to hold up to being used.
Honestly, I don’t watch full videos but I end up watching this one. Quite impressive. I’m an FJ owner as well and this is anyone’s dream. You guys did a great and fantastic job.
I could not recommend highly enough, Voltage sensitive relays. They originated from the marine industry, and are the most superior way for dual Battery systems. They are brilliant for both alternator charging as well as solar and 3 stage chargers and will prioritise charge to the primary battery/start battery, if you need a jump start you can just jump the positive side. Ctek make great 3 stage chargers for deep cycle batteries. Also cabling has to be large enough to prevent voltage drop, it's better to bring the negative cables back to the battery or a dedicated terminal post to help prevent voltage loss. The automotive world kinda got it wrong with low voltage cabling, as energy flows from negative to positive and cabling is far more efficient to carry energy then the cars body. I installed my dual Battery system and it ran perfectly for over 10 years in my Prado, sold the vehicle and it's still going, 6 years later. AGM batteries with 3 stage chargers all day!

Looks like winch welds will fail in a winch recovery. The arb compressor mounting is exposed to all the elements, and the air line mounting location will be broken from too steep of a departure angle. And lastly those side steps will catch on rocks if rock crawling. Other than that looks awesome.

It's goofy to have a capable rig like this with some side steps so basically they're going to bend, dent, and rip right off if he tries anything even half arduous. He may as well have all stock bumpers and suspension since he can't do anything unless he wants to rip em off. I'm all for the "looks" builds though. I don't know if u guys look at the comments but a cool build if u haven't done it already would be a wide body nissian 240sx, v8 turbo with titanium exhaust? Little much but I feel like it would look really nice
excellent transformation, they really have great style and talent... the only detail that I didn't think or I didn't like was the placement of the winch. The rest is too good .. greetings
Maybe it'd be redundant for some reason I'm not aware of, but would there be any point putting a slight hook on the end of those brackets for the reservoirs? Seems like it'd be a minor thing that would reduce the possibility of clamps managing to work their way loose.
Only things I would change is hooking the solar to a secondary house battery instead of the starter one and I would have painted the screws on the front bumper black. Wonder how long that solar panel is going to last from getting saturated with heat from the engine.
Awesome build! I loved my FJ and you did everything I ever wanted to minus a secondary fuel tank. Besides space for my heathen offspring, the only short comming was the short legs on the FJ for up here in AK. Well done guys!
Why didn’t you fit the hose spring clips? They are much more reliable and keep a constant tension on the hose with no gaps and cannot damage the hose? Also they don’t loose tension when going from hot to cold. It’s why automotive manufacturers use them.
This might be the coolest build I’ve seen on this channel. All function and yet it still made the thing look rugged and clean at the same time. Now I’m over here looking for onboard air on my truck lol.
Congratulations on the build. As in America the products are more accessible, you can assemble these incredible projects! Here in South America we need to work 15 years to assemble one of these.

Australians do off roading a little different. Have a look at the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 series. Our off road is a mix of mudding and mountain climbing. That being said. I absolutely love this build 9/10
I just bought a Toyota FJ- this rebuild was amazing !
I don't know if u guys look at the comments but a cool build if u haven't done it already would be a wide body nissian 240sx, v8 turbo with titanium exhaust? Little much but I feel like it would look really nice
This was hands down the best build Ive seen on this channel!!! Great work ✌️👍👌
excellent transformation, they really have great style and talent... the only detail that I didn't think or I didn't like was the placement of the winch. The rest is too good .. greetings
a bumper with build-in winch mount is always better and stronger too.
SICK!! What an awesome build! Congrats my dude!
what an amazing FJ Cruiser!!
Classy, cool and functional!!
Hearing you guys talk about offroad stuff is adorable. Keep up the good work 😅
Maybe it'd be redundant for some reason I'm not aware of, but would there be any point putting a slight hook on the end of those brackets for the reservoirs? Seems like it'd be a minor thing that would reduce the possibility of clamps managing to work their way loose.
Only things I would change is hooking the solar to a secondary house battery instead of the starter one and I would have painted the screws on the front bumper black. Wonder how long that solar panel is going to last from getting saturated with heat from the engine.
Best video watched for a FJ till now. Loved it❤
Awesome build!
Red is nice. That blue on late model TRD pro’s would have been 🔥
You guys don't fail. Even with things people might not love at first. This FJ is sick.
Congratulations on the build. As in America the products are more accessible, you can assemble these incredible projects! Here in South America we need to work 15 years to assemble one of these.
FJ CRUISERS they are just awesome off-roaders and 100% reliable anywhere u go , don’t have that crazy technology just simple and will get u anywhere u want to go 😊, Great job btw on build .
Great Job Team Throtl!! The car turned out amazing.
Yeah my FJ is jelly. Fantastic build
as a former FJ owner this was an awesome build.
What a transformation!! Damnn you guys killed it! 🔥🔥🔥🤘
That FJ looks amazing! great job on the upgrades
This was sick! Love this series, and I love that you guys do it in one episode!
WOW this came out amazing!!! You did a GREAT job guys!!!!! Greetings from Greece!!
