How do you take your carne asada up a level? How do you take an ordinary salsa and completely change the flavor? Just add FIRE!
In this video I’m gonna show you one of my favorite ways to make salsa here in deep South Texas. You just need to take your normal salsa ingredients, throw them on some skewers or directly on the grill, getchu a fire going and let all those good ingredients roast over an open mesquite fire. Talk about tantalizing the taste buds and getting accolades from your friends and family. THIS is how you do it!
There’s just something special about grilling your favorite meats AND roasting the salsa at the same time, and then combining them all for a super WOW flavor experience, especially if you put it all in a fresh warm tortilla.
In this video I’ll show you just one of the ways I grill up some tomatoes, onion, serranos, jalapeños and garlic then grind them all up into a fire roasted salsa in the molcajete. And just to show some more versatility, you can also add a little bit of fresh cilantro, pulse it in the blender to get a whole NEW experience with the same base ingredients.
What I love most about salsas is how diverse and versatile they can be depending on your preference for more or less of any ingredients. Remember that when it comes to salsa’s like I always say: Aint no right way or wrong way so don’t be afraid to experiment!
Now let’s get fired up and make us some FIRE ROASTED SALSAS! Vamonos!!
Quickly becoming one of my favorite cooks on YT, your stuff always looks so good!
Good morning Arnie Tex and everyone reading this
And a good morning to you sir.

Good morning .

Hi, the first part of video with you using the molcajete is exactly how my grandpa (Julius Abelar) used to make his... quick and simple. I just made a batch. I could never remember exactly how he did it. Very glad I found you! Thanks a bunch!!!
Please sir, NEVER stop with these videos! I must learn it all!
You never will you caucasiano
Shout out from Corpus Christi Texas

Awesome video. That molcajete has seen some years of dishes made with love! I could almost smell the roasted jalapenos here in Dallas! Thanks.
Buenas Dias from Austin! Arnie, I received a new molcajete from Mexico, and cured it this past weekend. I will christen my molcajete with your fire roasted salsa recipe!!
Where would I look to find a good molcajete? I don't trust the random ones I see on Amazon
@@Twisted_Logic my cousin went to Juarez Mexico to visit and brought me one back. I don't trust the ones sold on Amazon either. If you live near a Fiesta grocery store, or Mexican food market they usually have authentic molcajetes.
@@lydiamlopez86 There's a big Fiesta in my hometown. Maybe I'll check there next time I'm visiting family
Chips and Salsa are two of my favorite things.
Thank you Arnie for the tip on the garlic and preliquifying them. Going to try this next time.
I will always call this man uncle Arnie because he feels like family the way he talk to you

New Subscriber here..I luv Mexican food..I live in Colorado for 23years now I moved to Hawaii..Man I tell y'all, I missed all da mexican food/food trucks..etc
fantastic salsa Arnie!
Those look just delicious. May I suggest one small twist if you want to give it a try, since I have been making a similar salsa for last couple of months. Grill theRoma tomatoes and serrano peppers, but leave the onions and garlic raw. I have tried them side by side, both the raw and cooked versions. Cut down on the portions of garlic and onions when raw. With the bright and fresh flavors from raw onions and garlic, no lime is needed. They also hold up in great flavor over a week in the fridge, I am guessing because of no acidity from adding lime or vinegar, but I am not exactly sure why.
Always personal preference, the cooked onions bring a hint of sweet and creaminess you cant get from the raw onions and the cooked garlic brings a more subtle flavor too instead of the pungent BOOM!
@@ArnieTex True, I might try a combination next.
Gracias😊
Man! I can't get enough of your videos. Great information and most importantly delicious food!! Cheers!

Oh yum ❤
time to make some salsa
Ya me dio hambre
Just a thought I have, if it's a little watery you could add some corn starch or flour, maybe zantham gum. What do you think? I'm fine with my results. And I also think making a day before and resting in a fridge over night makes it better.
Arnie, do you have a recipe for flour tortillas? I make them with lard, salt and hot water but they always turn hard when refrigerated. Thank you🥰
I made this. Just do t have wow so I improvised
Trying to find another video of his where he grills the vegetables jalapenos and habenero peppers and dices them up

Help me get big like u sir .. I'm on the come up on utube any advice is good..
You have to post consistently and that helps a lot, we grew exponentially when we went from occasional random videos to one per week and then two per week, really made all the difference.
you say "deep" "south" Texas................WHERE IN DEEP SOUTH TEXAS ARE YOU?
There is west Tx,, east Tx, north Tx, central Tx and south Tx, for most of us south means just San Antonio downward but others will argue that, so deep south Tx means a line across from Laredo to Corpus Christi and down, just symantics really. People who love to argue will fight over that too, lol.
@@ArnieTex you are a smart man :-). I'm from Bishop Texas and yes.......San Antonio is CENTRAL Texas... :-)!!! PS....I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL AND YOUR STYLE BRO!!! I'm learning a lot! Thank you!

Hi Arnie, I got an email saying I’d been shortlisted as a prize winner, the message said to hit you up on Telegram….so I messaged on Telegram… If it’s genuine you then great as I’ve won some cool prizes…. But I’m there’s a good chance someone is using you as an alias to dupe people… can you confirm if it’s your good self or a scammer… keeep up the great recipes and videos thanks from the UK 😊
Yes it's a hacker trying to cheat people, I hate those mfkrs! I DO NOT have nor even know what telegram is. Thanks for the heads up too. There were two different ones I saw yesterday and blocked but I'm sure they will keep coming.
Generally if it's telegram it's a scam. Lots of bots and scammers in the comment sections of almost every RUclips channel.
@@aarong.4691 yes true that, thanks
Yeah I hate those scamming b******ds too, praying on people and trying to take our hard earned cash. I worry for my parents and others in my family that aren’t tech/scam savvy. I’ve told them to check anything and if it seems too good. On this occasion I was told I’d won a Surfboard, a Sony DSLR camera, a Mac book pro and restaurant vouchers… very fishy and very stinky
Yumm”
