Just a tip. If you are like me...you know nothing on how to whistle loudly without fingers and it is your first time to try to learn. Keep a rag, or some piece of cloth to clean the spit from your screen.
Good tutorial!!!...no joke it took me about a week to get it...but i have it downpacked now!!! ...the tongue actually feel like its floating in my mouth and i pull my bottom lip back..once you hear anything just adjust your lip and tongue and it will come...just be patient..GOOD luck everyone..

Trust me, it only looks easy cuz i practiced so much. One way to keep your tongue away from your teeth is to think of making the soft "th" sound instead of thinking of 'blowing'. It's like you had a lisp...so get your bottom lip tight over your teeth, and then lower your tongue on top of your lip and start lisping while sliding your upper teeth toward your bottom lip. At some point you should start hearing the beginnings of a whistle. Then play around with it! Good luck!

Shouldn't matter. I have chipped tooth as well and no one's teeth are perfectly flat. The hole doesn't need to be perfect. What's more important is that your bottom lip is an extension of your tongue and that it is pulled tight over your teeth. You need to try to create as solid a structure as possible. Loose lips sink whistles...lol

You also need to form a good chamber inside your mouth with your tongue by keeping it away from the roof of your mouth. Pushing the jaw forward seems to help with this (also a bit painful when you start out). Big chamber = low sound, small chamber = high sound. The higher the pitch, the harder you have to blow, but the harder you blow the more precise and tight your mouth needs to be because the harder you blow, the easier it is to lose the shape of your whistle and shape is everything!

i don't think braces will affect it because I can put my whole finger across my teeth and still whistle. If it doesn't affect the hole between tongue and teeth, your golden.
@edgar5001 tongue is resting on upper teeth below roof of mouth. For high pitched whistle, tongue moves forward toward front of mouth and you blow harder.
My father whistles like him...sometimes he is a block away and i can clearly hear him even with cars running around, people talking its incredible loud if you are beside him your ears will hurt but even having him trying to teach for so long no one around here makes it as loud as him...wich is impressive and higienic than putting your finger in your mouth to whistle. good job sir but its a hard technique to master.

I have some gaps in my teeth too (small but nonetheless) and I can still whistle. You will lose a little airflow but you should be able to make a sound if you get the right position. Keep practicing. It is the only way.

man, that looks so easy in your videos. but it's so painfully hard when I try it myself... My bigest problem is the position of the tongue. I can't make it flat and in that "U" shape. My tongue goes automatically to the upper teeth. I can whistle with both lips covering upper and under teeth, like you showed in your other video. I find that way easier for me. But your method is way more louder and clearer.

What if you have a very slight space between the front teeth? Would you have to place your top lip over the front teeth? Also, are you blowing up or down?
I tried this and started pushin real hard but just ended up farting. Felt so good, I spent all night farting. Forget whistlin! Blowin out gas is where it's at!
