Agree, powercreep makes me not want to pull for characters and make me forget about them real quickly. And kill all the hype about a rerun since those characters already got powercreeped hard

4:14 I'm not sure I agree with this. People always joke that HSR stands for HuoHuo, Sunday, Robin because that team can carry basically any DPS lol. It took a long time for people to realize how busted Robin was in general and they had the impression that she was exclusively a FUA support for a while. Similarly I think people are really tunnel-visioning on Sunday as a "summon buffer" right now and don't realize how much he benefits characters like Jingliu despite her not having a summon. I guess HSR devs need to do a better job of communicating to the playerbase that some of these new supports ARE the buffs to older characters that we've been asking for, even if they appear to be designed more for the new flavor of the month team.
yeah but why would u care to buff ur jingliu, if the new character in this case aglaea its better in every way and sundays helps her more than jingliu, like it ain't the supports fault, it is that every new patch they make a new OP character that powercreeps the old one, now i have a herta max built with sunday, and yet i think my acheron its better, but it would come a time were theres a need OP character that buffs herta to hit 3 trillion with a basic and acheron is gonna suck, even if that same character buffs acheron, i would get more value buffing herta, u get what im saying?
@xd_xd675 Because I like Jingliu and want to play her. I don't need my characters to be the absolute best to play them, and in fact I have a Firefly and Feixiao on my account that have been benched for months because they're so strong and they trivialize content so much that I find them boring. I'm happy as long as I can full star the hardest endgame content with my favorite characters, and I have no trouble clearing ice weak stages of MoC with my Jingliu team. I beat the swarm bugs on MoC 12 this time in 3 cycles with my 5 cost Jingliu team, which is more than good enough for me.
I do think powercreep in star rail is a bit faster compared to the other popular gacha games. But people forgot that characters like Jingliu has a gimmick like HP decay and Ultimate focused. If there's a buffer that match her gimmick, she become strong like now. But ofc people recently only found that out and thought it's the end of the world. As a long time player, these tourists made me cuckle.

No need to worry as long as you built the supports properly you can clear within 10 cycles with the exception of Blade you need god tier level builds and LC's possibly a couple eidolons to clear within 8 cycles using him. He fell of so hard
Question: does HSR being turn based make this issue worse than in GI/WW? Because like, all there really is you and the enemy taking turns, there's no grouping or player dodging or any of that and so HSR feels like it's kind of in a box for me
Thats one of the reasons. Also there is a problem by having 2 new characters for each patch. There is another game called Reverse 1999 also turn based rpg that works like HSR ,but they have a much better concept they also get 2 characters each patch ,but those characters get added to the Standard pull after 3 months ,and they have true limited units that come every 4 months and they are really powerfull. And they even give older units specific Equipment to upgrade them. That way powercreep is not a big problem ,but HSR doesn't care for older units ,because they don't make money and the standrad banner characters still didn't get an update

I been telling people, new moc are just sales pitch for the latest banner and people call me hater 😂 . Now they cant clear moc fast like they used to because they don't have the latest best unit 😂😂😂😂😂. Im going casual in hsr soon since the hp inflation is not fun at all
Just summon for character designs, not gameplay. That's what I do. I know MHY are jerks and no character will be relevant forever, so I just summon so that I can at least enjoy what Im looking at. I'm fine with clearing up to stage 11 in MOC. 160 Jades are not worth 100+ dollars :)))) I can get 300 for 5 dollars or playing the game for a week. Im good without the stress :))
This is the right mentality to have as a player. That being said, we should also criticize the developer when it is appropriate. And it is very clear that HSR is the most predatory among the Hoyo games

I did mentioned getting jade with 5 dollars, but I rarely do it. The only thing Im getting is the BP and monthly pass. That's it.
These types of games have to be planned for the long term, resources are limited so you can't have everything so the priority is to get characters that will still be useful in the long term. Obviously you have to get damage dealers but you have to try to get those that have more potential in the medium term and try not to overlap positions with the ones you already have. In short: Build teams, not characters.
@ That works only for Genshin and ZZZ unfortunately. HSR moves way too fast for any kind of "calculated" approach from the side of the consumer. They release new characters like crazy and the endgame powercreep is moving in lightspeed.

Honestly, keeping up with HSR is tiring and frustrating as F2P. The powercreep's discouraging and the artifact farming is the WORST of any Hoyo game. It's impossible to keep up with its character release pacing too. I know you don't need to pull every single character, but I'd argue E0 isn't enough most of the time. It's a HUGE difference coming from Genshin, where 1 copy of the character will suffice 99% of the time. I'd recommend that new players avoid HSR, especially F2P. Literally considering quitting myself, and I'm a day one(PS5) player... 🤷
Yeah, a lot of earlier LCs are just % increases or minor QOL, but some recent characters gain completely new abilities with their LCs that are already give like a 20-30% boost. Sunday’s LC fixes his SP and energy issues, Acheron’s is not only the only good option besides 4* gachas that are getting rarer every few updates, but increases her ult gen, Rappa’s not only gives her massive Break buffs but also gives accel comparable to Eagle... I could keep going A fair few recent DPS characters also really want a specific limited support to feel good, like Feixiao with Robin or Break DPS with RM or Fugue. While Mavuika in Genshin isn’t too dissimilar, most of the other characters aren’t like that
Honkai: Star Rail is fine, there are just people who still don't want to accept that what they have to build are teams, not characters. If all you're looking to get are characters with zero synergies then you're screwed because you've screwed up. And you don't need eidolons, I don't have eidolons and I generally have zero problems (And I only have 3 promotional cones (Fu Xuan, Acheron and The Herta cones)). Some months I can't get all the stars but in general I usually get at least 80%-90% of the stars. I can't have all the teams but the teams I have I try to keep them updated.
@brago900 That is complete BS. I've did exactly that, pulled units based on team archetypes and synergy. And i 100% still find it tiring to keep up with due to CONSTANT powercreep, and enemy HP inflation. Just say you are cool with the grind, or don't mind spending money. But don't pretend Powercreep/meta changes in HSR, don't come at an overwhelming pace... 🤷
@ You overestimate my economy if you think I can spend in gachas. I am the person who grinds the least you could ever meet, I prefarm prefarmable resources (including artifacts if possible) and when I have something minimally functional I don't grind for the character again. Probably the only difference between you and me is the teams we prioritize.
@@brago900 Break and FUA teams are the best engines in HSR no questions asked. Acheron without her LC is useless at this point while Jiaoqiu is needed to keep up. All other hypercarries along with DoT are dead in the water. Seele even w/Sunday is severely powercrept with no 3.0 character out (minus Herta). If someone built a mono quantum team, something which was highly appealing during the first year of HSR...is now using a dead team. Hard to clear with 300k ults when Acheron does 1M. Now true dmg, and weakness implant exist. "Generally have 0 problems...some months I can't get all the stars". That would be a problem...no? Shouldn't need the latest and greatest along with team comps to full clear.
IMO Vertical investment shouldn't feel like the wrong choice. As much as I want to invest more in DHIL its something I shouldn't do. Luckily I avoided 2 major things pulling for Jingliu and ignoring every CC who attacked Argenti. Argenti outside of Booty has been my best DPS investment. Bro carried PF for a year and now you're telling me I can double up and use him more with THE Herta? It's a big win
I haven't regretted investing in DHIL, he's been carrying me in AS, Moc and PF. He does 1 million dmg in a combo and 2-3 million dmg in a cycle. I literally skipped all 2.X dps except Jade because of how good he is. Pulled for Herta recently cuz I love her personality. And will do the same for Castorice

Not trying to be a killjoy but I don't think that the "bruteforce strategy" still holds in HSR, if your dot team it's not matching against lighting / wind enemies then it will fall off a lot cause enemies obtain resistances to other elements they're not weak to
I don't think Herta will be busted outside of pure fiction, it's simply that the content right now focuses on ice element and AOE content, so single target characters will suffer from this
Dang Heng Imbibitor Lunae has long-term potential as he has the multipliers necessary to compete with the best damage dealers, his problem is that he doesn't have a team that synergizes with his playstyle. Seele was designed to destroy low levels, her kit was bad from the start and I've been saying that since 1.0.
i started this game for Silver Wolf, she's never had a rerun since I started playing, I thought i'd be excited when she finally got a rerun. But now all I hear is she's basically completely useless, and considering there really isnt alot overworld combat or exploration at all where I can just run around and use her there I'm genuinely so disappointed and don't even know if I want to bother getting her anymore. At least my other favorite character is Ruan Mei and she's the closest thing to universal there is.
I think you should still get her even though she's fallen off. She's good with dr ratio and acheron if you have those characters. Blade was my first limited 5 star and it hurt seeing him being shafted so hard but I can still clear with him today.
You may like her but I promise you that you'll never use her if you get her. So if you enjoy the game and don't want to feel like you've wasted your resources don't pull for her or any 1.X unit. There are a ton of good and new characters coming. I'm sure one of them will tickle your fancy.

@Satyr42 Wasn't trying to make it seem like it's a walk in the park to use these older characters, my bad. I was just saying it's still definitely possible, especially in silver wolf's case cause if you don't got Jiaqiou she is a pretty good option in acheron teams. You can use her with ratio too like I said, but it'll probably be better to use him with moze or march 7th hunt. I'm definitely missing some teams that you can use her in, but these are the 2 that I use her the most in.

If only you had to pull another DPS it would be fine but instead you have to pull for the dedicated support as well. It's just too much, at least for true F2P. If you want to partake in the summon meta you may want sunday, if you want castorice you may want tribbie as well. Poor sparkle.
As a Yu-Gi-Oh! Player I have the answer: it'll never end. 25+ years of powercreep, people does no use decks in the competitive scene that are 6 months to 1 year old. Our dear companies never stop releasing new things, they need money and that is how it works... I Personally change my main dps every six month that is a substantial change that meets the new requirements, but also as a Genshin player I can tell this to f2ps as me: we do not need every character and in the end you can play through the whole game with you favorite teams, no need to stress out if the is an overbroken new unit. Hug to everyone who read through this ❤ you can do it, do not hesitate to save flr you favorite units, gives them love and support and they will lead you to that happy end 😊
I feel this so hard. I've been using Acheron since she came out yet she honestly isn't taht good because I don't specifically have her light cone and her best support, Jiaoqiu. I use the best supports I have available to me and it just doesn't cut in on moc 12. And her stat line is pretty damn good as well. Some characters are so light cone reliant, or specific teammate reliant, or both. Another example is Jingliu and Bronya. I've used those two together for so long but they just don't cut it anymore at all. I HAD to get Sunday even though I didn't want to because he is just so busted compared to any support we've ever seen that not getting him is just bad for the future of your account. I don't want it to be like "literally any team comp can clear" but I also don't like being forced into rolling on a specific banner to make my already-strong characters succeed because that character or light cone is such a buff to them. I actually went for Acheron's light cone and lost on it so I guess I just save for the next time she runs, but that would mean I HAVE to miss out on a bunch of characters in between.
All characters are dependent on having the right teammates. The mistake is not getting those teammates. PS: In general, each update gives enough resources for at least one 50/50. Don't obsess about needing to save up for X, dedicate the resources from the previous update and it's solved. PS2: The next time Acheron might return is in 3.3 since it is rumored that Zipher is going to be Nihilism.

At this rate, i just log in to the game, do dailies and get those jades and try MOC. If i falied, i log out and jump to another game. HSR devs starting to show their true colors. They weren't always like this.
They were always like this. What happen was that HSR was in a market that had competitors so Mihoyo couldn't be greedy from the get go; since no monopoly. Thus, they played good cop and gave out tons of free stuff + tons of qoL to lure players into their game and now those players are over 1 year into the game, cost sunk fallacy has kicked in and they can't bring themselves to leave or they feel like they wasted their time/money. Mihoyo being aware of this has now dropped the pretense and show their true greedy side to milk players for all their worth by making the meta go super fast and instilling FOMO.
Another piece to the problem is the introduction of the wishing resin + variability dice. We know that HSR has an accelerated meta, like you mention, so these items essentially allow whales to get their character up and running much faster than a f2p/low spender who will have to grind for months in domains to get good artifacts for their character. By the time said players actually get those characters working they may have already fallen out of the meta and no longer viable and now they are asked to pull for either new supports to boost them or pull for the next latest DPS character.
ngl i feel the moc, bro i've always cleared it at 29 or 28 cycles, but now i barely got in 20 with my extremly well built break team, and my extremly well built acheron, now im not taking about 4 star light cones, decents stats, nah im saying there lightcone all traces on all the team members even basics for healers or supports, full sets all with very good stats and yet it so hard like bro acheron was doing 1M dmg and that wasn't enough to take 20% of its health? like bro what
That is not a feeling thats the reality. Happend also to me I finished last MOC12 woth 26-27 turns without trying too often,this now took me to 20 turns. And its gonna get worse patch by patch.

this video is a lil confusing to me because you say you don’t play the game alot only when a character you like interests you so the endgame content shouldn’t really worry you being a casual player . also yes powercreep exists but firefly and acheron all early 2x dps units are still at the top of the meta many months after their release and will continue to be . the only units that will see maybe a significant decrease are the hunt units like boothill and feixiao since newer moc’s seem to be favoring aoe. time will tell if they up the hp in endgame modes again very soon but as of rn its not looking likely
Im a casual and im VERY interested in endgame as well. Being a casual doesnt really cancel out your interest in endgame and challenging content. Also calling myself a casual doesnt mean that i dont pour a lot of time into the game. The game just demands way more time, you know what i mean?

if there’s any problem i have that’s bigger than having One Big Unit every other patch it’s that that One Big Unit has basically one (1) specific teammate who is hard to go without like ruan mei was that to me for the entirety of 2.x until i got fugue
Power creep is worrisome if you are more attached to specific characters than just interested in the meta. I mea if you only want the optimal team and don’t care what the characters look like or their personality, it’s easy to upgrade into the next thing. But we do also get attached to specific characters and try to make them work even if there’s a newer better option. 😅 I hope they keep giving us opportunities to pull a new character to revive an older one. For example I love Jing Yuan so getting Sunday to pull him out of the dusty reserves into the main stages was just amazing. The worst thing would be for the HSR to complete ignore the older characters and basically erase them for usability.

QUESTION: When will Hoyo just buff older characters? Not just adding new supports to buff them, but actully touching kit damage numbers and multiplyers?
Good news as someone who watches leaks the next patch DPS so far is at a lower level than Herta by a substantial amount yet is still capable of 3 cycling content outside of the shilled patch and the banner unit after Therta(Aglaea) is at best 10%-15% stronger than Acheron/JY teams which both are equal in dmg.
There will be a True damage god that power creeps all harmony and buffers I bet. I am sure 3.x characters will be close to each other but better at various roles like break was. Acheron still kicks at e0 but she is slowly falling
I've been begging for a DoT buff as much as everyone else, but I felt like this MoC was the best my DoT team has felt in a while tbh. My team is E0S0 Kafka, E1S0 Black Swan, E1S0 Ruan Mei and E0S0 Lingsha and I pretty comfortably cleared in 3 cycles. I also managed a 3 cycle clear with my Jingliu (E0S1), Robin, Sunday, Luocha (all E0S0) team and for fun I tried a full E0S0 run and still got 4 cycles. Like I'm not denying that powercreep exists, it pretty obviously does, but I am just not really feeling the effects of it too badly yet.
As a casual f2p, the moment i have enough jades to pull for a unit, the said units are already considered "powercrept" and old, coz newer units are being released every patch. I have DHIL & Jingliu hypercarry + Firefly break team... My account is struggling 😂
Yeah i bought Jingliu E1S1 on her rerun and i never used her after as right then the meta moved away from her, if i use her now i would only make it painfull
@brago900 I invested on their BIS supports, relics are just mid though coz I don't have the time to farm them, the main stats are okay aside from the substats.
I have said this exact same thing when Firefly came out and on that comments i saw lot of different opinions with some dismissing it, some saying its inevitable and some saying to just use who i like Really for me it mostly comes down to if you either miss the "core" unit the next few versions follow you are basically left in the dust or that their is going to be a certain point where the team/character i like just wont be good enough no matter how i build them when the newest team can just do more with less
Its ok if we have some strong characters ,but every new dps outshines the older DPS by a large amount its not ok,but also them releasing 2 characters each patch is not helping
Dots is not the worst team, it is simply a team that is half-built. Break and hunt follow-up are teams that are complete and have little room for improvement.
I had the same toughts and decided that i will play her with no investment, save the jades to see what happens innthe future (3.4 -3.5) AND have no regrets she is amazing
DOT was among, if not the best team in 2.0, with a team of Kafka, Black Swan, Ruan Mei and Huo Huo being completely busted. Now, you can hardly clear with them, despite having two of them at E1. To me, this is insane!
As a big Sampo enjoyer, I get really sad when new characters come out. I like using characters I like rather than 'this is strong so get it'...but I feel like HSR kinda feels like I HAVE to pull for newer units. I'm so happy I can finally use my Jing Yuan again but for how long? Five star Sampo...I believe ;-;
@ He's unique, don't get me wrong. But he's honestly a great unit. I've built him a variety of ways and he's done great...but sadly, HSR is about the latest greatest...not about who you like
I love sampo too. Before Black Swan was released I always used him and his single target skill break was really satisfying. He'll probably have a 5 star form when the Elation becomes the center of the story. Next year maybe?
It's the mihoyo special where you need to get your DPS to e2s1 to prevent them from falling off quickly. You're better off saving and getting fewer DPS at e2s1 than many DPS at e0s0/1 if you really want to avoid feeling like your DPS is constantly being powercrept. Most supports still function fine at e0 though there are some that will want e1 for their big power boost.
When my e2s1 DHIL, sparkle e0s1, robin e1s1, e1s1 huohuo is struggling to 4-5 cycle on Element. We have a huge problem. My dan isnt terribly built either. 82/169 with 3.5k atk. I dont want to bench the guy cuz I like his animation and the character. So honestly imma just skip everything til the giga op meta breaking character comes out to pull again.
My Misha team without any eidolons can 4-5 cycle on element, that's on you lol. I don't know why players are trying to pretend like their skill issue is somehow a powercreep problem.

Welp at some point i realized i just dont wanna even try to close MOC it just doesn't feel fun, because mechanics, powercreep are so bad that its not enjoyable. I just play mostly SU as it feels fun, and thats pretty much it, i guess you can tell its very casual gameplay and its probably the only way that feels fun if you are ftp or low spender
I think the main problem they are having is balancing the game where DPS and supports are strong instead of just supports. When our best 1.x DPS was JingLiu, someone who was much weaker than Ruan Mei and Bronya. I think they realized that when they made Hunt March 7th and HMC/RMC because they can dish out damage and add a form of support that is amazing.
@@Tripletrident Acheron wasn't even op, MoC data said her own tailored MoC was cleared faster by the other top 4 meta teams back then. Players think she's way better than she actually is because of dmg per screenshot. Herta is clearing the 3.1 MoC slower than Argenti.

While it is sad to see old characters get benched, we need incentive to pull new ones---even as it stands, that incentive is like 90% delusion. As for the rate of power creep, I've been using Acheron for everything, every time, for over a year, and it does get old.
Agree the powercreep is a huge issue, I can't play my Black Swan at all, cause I dont even have Kafka, but even if I did, would I use her? They need a Dot DPS that Changes the way dots work completely like brings up Black Swans Arcana to max stacks instantly I even got her light cone. But My Yunli Hypercarry Team is struggling compared to my Rappa Fugue Ruan Mei Lingsha Superbreak. Its like you are forced to run one really old team even if heavily invested into (like my yunli team she has her lightcone Adventurine has his light cone Tingyun E6 Sparkle E0S0) sometimes I can 3 star sometimes I can 2 because of lack of weakness type.
What a lot of people don't understand about HSR is that it's a numbers game, most of the battles are won before they even start, and it's all about the stats and SPD (action value). Because of this, the game has minimal skill expression when it comes to gameplay, you have to have good gear and the proper number of turns for each cycle and voila, you can beat end-game content despite the atrocious HP inflation. The problem with this is that the only way to make the end-game content more challenging, is to buff the numbers, mostly HP, DEF, Resists; this however results in a conundrum, the casual players won't open a spreadsheet and look up the action values of their characters and what stats they need on their characters to squeeze in that one extra ult that turns a 6 cycle in a 4 cycle for one of the MoC sides, no, the average players will look up a guide, settle on the 134+ SPD value and go from there without really understanding how Action Values properly works. So, the HSR devs give these people the easy way out, new busted characters, the issue is, you need these busted characters every 2 or so patches, with their supports and BiS teammates to be able to keep playing HSR casually, otherwise, you need to invest a lot of time into properly gearing your characters. Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the HP inflation we got in the last 2 MoC resets won't affect even players who do understand AV and how to build their teams without looking out for a guide, it very much did impact them as well. The difference is that players that could comfortably clear MoC 12 before, now had to sweat a little and transfer gear between characters until they got to that sweet spot where they could clear it. As an example, I used to clear MoC 12 in 3-4 cycles before the 2.7 MoC update, then I dropped to 5-6 cycles, then when the 3.0 MoC update dropped, I struggled to clear it in 10 cycles for about a week, now I can comfortably clear it in 8 cycles, without The Herta, with The Herta? I'm back to 5-6 cycles. As long as the 3.1 MoC refresh doesn't bring a new HP increase, it should be fine, but if they do increase it again, I'll probably either quit or just accept that I won't clear end game content anymore and just play the game when I'm bored. TBH, if I didn't like the lore and some of the characters in the game, I'd probably stop playing HSR after this whole fiasco.
See, I’m a simple person, so I personally believe that there should just never be a “strongest anything”, because to me it just completely devalues anything and everything else. Like I really want Seele because her talent is really fun, and I absolutely love Jingliu, but when I’m slapped in the face with “just get the newer units that have over saturated modifiers and that you most likely don’t care about”, it’s just soul crushing. And I know it’s a gacha game, they want you to spend money to get the new things even if those things aren’t to your liking. But the point of a ‘video game’ is to have fun regardless of circumstance, not wait for the next limited game (character) to stop by and punish everyone else for missing it. My line of thinking is that if I have this one five star, and the other five stars after it are just stronger and nicer, why even call the character a five star if they’re out classed and out performed Sorry, I do again understand that it’s a gacha game and these things shouldn’t be making one mald, but when there’s an issue as simple to solve as this one, but nothing is being done about it (from our knowledge), it’s just irritating

E2S1 Kafka main here, felt very very satisfied for a liiiiiitle bit. skipped black swan because i just didn't like her but i got her on her rerun because kafka is literally non functional without her. pulled ruan mei on her rerun just because of how strong she was. pulled E1S1 acheron because i actually liked her too. said team cant' even beat moc or as comfortably because... i didn't whale 6 months later instead for jiaoqiu who i also don't like i guess. atleast it's not as bad as my E1S1 blade who hasn't seen an endgame mode in over a year. this game is miserable
I agree that as a F2P prioritizing supports is the way to go. I've been using Qingque since day 1 and she still clears fine because of Sparkle and Sunday. The only dps I pulled in the 2.X patches was Firefly. Basically the strategy is pull one good dps that you lke and then focus on supporting that dps.

The "issue" you mentioned in this video is not a problem about the Herta,its the game's stupid flaw,they want to sell the character so they make them strong but now they are so strong that they need to,havee too inflate Hp of endgame content,and as the time passes older 1.x and some 2.x dpses litterally becomes trash.😑😐
Yeah, because without powercreep, without new units being stronger than previous existing ones, the biggest factor for pulling new characters would suddenly be gone. Every new character's kit would essentially be a copy paste of another, with maybe one new mechanic or two tossed in, and a different face, different appearance. It would be reduced to nothing more than a waifu/husbando collector. The growth of powercreep in the game may not fit most of the playerbase very well, but regardless, the company has to earn money at the end of the day. Collection isn't even a big incentive for pulling.
to be fair Acheron is still one of the strongest DPS out there and maybe The Herta being an Eminator as well they will not powercreep her to much, for me personally I believe certain Meta's lose relevance with new characters and it might not be a super bad thing (for instance 2.x was the break effect Meta; 1.x was more the DoT meta and now 3.0 will go back to FuP and summon Meta) Seele might get her time to shine again in the future when her Niche returns again I mean there are rumores that Castorice will synergize quite nicely with Blade so one can only hope.
For me, I’m at a point where I don’t feel confident enough to want to pull on any banners. Sure they’ll do good… for an update or 2. But after that, I hey won’t do crap to the new stuff. I have a E1 Firefly with her signature light cone. She was smoking every enemy in sight. Nowadays, she can barely clear. What the hell happened? Also got Feixio, and it’s the same situation. I don’t feel comfortable pulling for anything because I believe the power creep in this game is too damn fast. And it’s only going to get worse as HSR story progresses. I want to have hope for HSR as the story is good and I’ve been with it since day 1. But if things do get worse, then my future playing this game is shaky at best.
I feel you I got E1S0 Firefly and Lingsha and E1S1 Robin for my Acheron and Feixiao team and they went from finishing MOC 12 leaving 25-27 turns and now they made it to turn 20. Thats how bad it got
The problem with her logic is that just because a character isn't the best anymore it doesn't make them bad. Acheron is still a perfectly good character and you can clear stuff with her, for example. I agree that powercreep is a bit too fast in HSR, but there is also certainly no reason at all to assume that Big Herta is going to be bad after just a couple of months!
2025 plan for HSR: Stop caring about clearing endgame with max stars! The rewards for doing so are NOTHING compared to the cost of vertically investing in a character. I'm just going to play the game, and pull for characters I like. That's it. They'll always be good enough to finish events and the story, and probably get most of the rewards in MOC/AS/PF.

no clue on castorice, but i would say herta / sunday / serval / huohuo would be good robin is amazing too, you can use robin over sunday here yunli & march aren’t so good here, you really want that 2nd erudition; if your herta is strong enough, herta serval robin sunday works for sustainless (or even replacing sunday for rmc)
Make sure Sunday has his LC, if not i rather advice you to use RMC because getting them to E6 is easier than the previous MC's Eidolons, plus all of their Eidolons (except for E6 anyway) is very useful. Sunday without his LC on -1 spd could result in a painful SP problem
also herta and acheron are special units, they will release units like them once a year, it's why they launch so strong compared to the average units, there are units like these in all hoyo games, HI3rd it's herrschers, genshin it's archons, zzz it's void hunters, HSR it's emanators, can't really hold these units to the standard of every other unit that comes out, there kind of suppose to be the best for there role
As someone who started late, I hate the fact that old characters who I love are just not worth pulling for if you care about 3 starring endgame. I want kafka blade and silver wolf because I love the stelleron hunter group and how important they are to the story and the MC but 3 out of the 4 hunters are straight up useless against these 3-4 million hp enemies 😭
TLDR: Pull for supports first and let the meta marinate for a while. Remember that people said used to say that Ruan Mei wasn't going to be that good because break was apparently "horrible" at the time
I think The Herta will age well while you are planning to play her on Pure Fiction, I'm more concern about Aglaea, Mydei and Tribbie future to be honest, they scream: "I will be powercreep"
I've been trying to figure out why Herta feels so lackluster to me. People think that I believe she is weak. And that's not it. I think she is an extremely powerful dps. But as an Emanator, I thought she would have a bigger impact. What u said in this video made it click. Ever since Acheron, it's been a stronger unit after stronger unit. Herta now, instead of being a special unit cause she is an emanator, just feels like another piece coming down the conveyor belt to be replaced soon. She is not special like Acheron was or the Archon's in Genshin. Or like Jinshi from Wuwa and Miyabi in ZZZ. HSR has oversaturated itself that it's special characters don't feel special
Just today, I saw Saint's react on ur month old GI Powercreep vid & I must say that Pokemon analogy was peak, we all have been there & done that. Later, this vid shows in my feed & it was actually a better take than many CCs only praising THerta & neglecting the main issue. By now, I've lost most hope for meta & creep, I'll just pull units that cater to my likings which for now are THerta (lost 50/50 on Fugue) & Mydei (hope 3.1 + rng provides enough for guarantee).

I am also struggling with the same DOT team (except I don't have Huohou), but I still love this team. But it is getting harder and harder with them. And I love Kafka and Black Swan, Kafka was my first limited 5* character because I started to play when she was first released.
New characters definitely buff old ones. Sunday = Jing Yuan, RMC = Argenti, Tribbie = Blade. Also Hoyo is a Business they want to sell you old and new characters as often as possible. So this problem that exists now wont exist in the future as more flexible Harmony Units come out.

HoYo is already releasing filler patches with mediocre main stories (and no skip button so that the devs can say "look, players played our mediocre story for 100 hours, they absolutely love the story"), imagine they would start introducing mediocre characters. 4:14 I'm not sure I agree with this. People always joke that HSR stands for HuoHuo, Sunday, Robin because that team can carry basically any DPS lol. It took a long time for people to realize how busted Robin was in general and they had the impression that she was exclusively a FUA support for a while. Similarly I think people are really tunnel-visioning on Sunday as a "summon buffer" right now and don't realize how much he benefits characters like Jingliu despite her not having a summon.
I guess HSR devs need to do a better job of communicating to the playerbase that some of these new supports ARE the buffs to older characters that we've been asking for, even if they appear to be designed more for the new flavor of the month team.

@xd_xd675 Because I like Jingliu and want to play her. I don't need my characters to be the absolute best to play them, and in fact I have a Firefly and Feixiao on my account that have been benched for months because they're so strong and they trivialize content so much that I find them boring.
I'm happy as long as I can full star the hardest endgame content with my favorite characters, and I have no trouble clearing ice weak stages of MoC with my Jingliu team. I beat the swarm bugs on MoC 12 this time in 3 cycles with my 5 cost Jingliu team, which is more than good enough for me.

I do think powercreep in star rail is a bit faster compared to the other popular gacha games. But people forgot that characters like Jingliu has a gimmick like HP decay and Ultimate focused. If there's a buffer that match her gimmick, she become strong like now.

Question: does HSR being turn based make this issue worse than in GI/WW? Because like, all there really is you and the enemy taking turns, there's no grouping or player dodging or any of that and so HSR feels like it's kind of in a box for me

There is another game called Reverse 1999 also turn based rpg that works like HSR ,but they have a much better concept they also get 2 characters each patch ,but those characters get added to the Standard pull after 3 months ,and they have true limited units that come every 4 months and they are really powerfull.
And they even give older units specific Equipment to upgrade them.
That way powercreep is not a big problem ,but HSR doesn't care for older units ,because they don't make money and the standrad banner characters still didn't get an update

Just summon for character designs, not gameplay. That's what I do. I know MHY are jerks and no character will be relevant forever, so I just summon so that I can at least enjoy what Im looking at. I'm fine with clearing up to stage 11 in MOC. 160 Jades are not worth 100+ dollars :)))) I can get 300 for 5 dollars or playing the game for a week. Im good without the stress :))
This is the right mentality to have as a player. That being said, we should also criticize the developer when it is appropriate. And it is very clear that HSR is the most predatory among the Hoyo games

However, and this is what I'm saying everytime, I can put the most detailed survey out there, if people only run their mouths but shower MHY in money, they won't change shit. I did mentioned getting jade with 5 dollars, but I rarely do it. The only thing Im getting is the BP and monthly pass. That's it.
These types of games have to be planned for the long term, resources are limited so you can't have everything so the priority is to get characters that will still be useful in the long term. Obviously you have to get damage dealers but you have to try to get those that have more potential in the medium term and try not to overlap positions with the ones you already have.
In short: Build teams, not characters.
@ That works only for Genshin and ZZZ unfortunately. HSR moves way too fast for any kind of "calculated" approach from the side of the consumer. They release new characters like crazy and the endgame powercreep is moving in lightspeed.

Honestly, keeping up with HSR is tiring and frustrating as F2P. The powercreep's discouraging and the artifact farming is the WORST of any Hoyo game. It's impossible to keep up with its character release pacing too. I know you don't need to pull every single character, but I'd argue E0 isn't enough most of the time. It's a HUGE difference coming from Genshin, where 1 copy of the character will suffice 99% of the time. I'd recommend that new players avoid HSR, especially F2P. Literally considering quitting myself, and I'm a day one(PS5) player... 🤷
Yeah, a lot of earlier LCs are just % increases or minor QOL, but some recent characters gain completely new abilities with their LCs that are already give like a 20-30% boost. Sunday’s LC fixes his SP and energy issues, Acheron’s is not only the only good option besides 4* gachas that are getting rarer every few updates, but increases her ult gen, Rappa’s not only gives her massive Break buffs but also gives accel comparable to Eagle... I could keep going
A fair few recent DPS characters also really want a specific limited support to feel good, like Feixiao with Robin or Break DPS with RM or Fugue. While Mavuika in Genshin isn’t too dissimilar, most of the other characters aren’t like that
Honkai: Star Rail is fine, there are just people who still don't want to accept that what they have to build are teams, not characters.
If all you're looking to get are characters with zero synergies then you're screwed because you've screwed up.
And you don't need eidolons, I don't have eidolons and I generally have zero problems (And I only have 3 promotional cones (Fu Xuan, Acheron and The Herta cones)). Some months I can't get all the stars but in general I usually get at least 80%-90% of the stars.
I can't have all the teams but the teams I have I try to keep them updated.
@brago900 That is complete BS. I've did exactly that, pulled units based on team archetypes and synergy. And i 100% still find it tiring to keep up with due to CONSTANT powercreep, and enemy HP inflation. Just say you are cool with the grind, or don't mind spending money. But don't pretend Powercreep/meta changes in HSR, don't come at an overwhelming pace... 🤷

I am the person who grinds the least you could ever meet, I prefarm prefarmable resources (including artifacts if possible) and when I have something minimally functional I don't grind for the character again.

All other hypercarries along with DoT are dead in the water. Seele even w/Sunday is severely powercrept with no 3.0 character out (minus Herta). If someone built a mono quantum team, something which was highly appealing during the first year of HSR...is now using a dead team. Hard to clear with 300k ults when Acheron does 1M. Now true dmg, and weakness implant exist.

IMO Vertical investment shouldn't feel like the wrong choice. As much as I want to invest more in DHIL its something I shouldn't do. Luckily I avoided 2 major things pulling for Jingliu and ignoring every CC who attacked Argenti. Argenti outside of Booty has been my best DPS investment. Bro carried PF for a year and now you're telling me I can double up and use him more with THE Herta? It's a big win
I haven't regretted investing in DHIL, he's been carrying me in AS, Moc and PF.
He does 1 million dmg in a combo and 2-3 million dmg in a cycle.
I literally skipped all 2.X dps except Jade because of how good he is.

They are not nerfing the characters but extremely over powering the world, there is a law against this if I recall correctly due to extreme nerfs being consumer unfriendly, this is what made them stop the "Neuvillete Nerf" On Genshin in the first place... Not trying to be a killjoy but I don't think that the "bruteforce strategy" still holds in HSR, if your dot team it's not matching against lighting / wind enemies then it will fall off a lot cause enemies obtain resistances to other elements they're not weak to
I don't think Herta will be busted outside of pure fiction, it's simply that the content right now focuses on ice element and AOE content, so single target characters will suffer from this

Dang Heng Imbibitor Lunae has long-term potential as he has the multipliers necessary to compete with the best damage dealers, his problem is that he doesn't have a team that synergizes with his playstyle.
Seele was designed to destroy low levels, her kit was bad from the start and I've been saying that since 1.0.
i started this game for Silver Wolf, she's never had a rerun since I started playing, I thought i'd be excited when she finally got a rerun. But now all I hear is she's basically completely useless, and considering there really isnt alot overworld combat or exploration at all where I can just run around and use her there I'm genuinely so disappointed and don't even know if I want to bother getting her anymore. At least my other favorite character is Ruan Mei and she's the closest thing to universal there is.
I think you should still get her even though she's fallen off. She's good with dr ratio and acheron if you have those characters. Blade was my first limited 5 star and it hurt seeing him being shafted so hard but I can still clear with him today.
You may like her but I promise you that you'll never use her if you get her. So if you enjoy the game and don't want to feel like you've wasted your resources don't pull for her or any 1.X unit. There are a ton of good and new characters coming. I'm sure one of them will tickle your fancy.

@Satyr42 Wasn't trying to make it seem like it's a walk in the park to use these older characters, my bad. I was just saying it's still definitely possible, especially in silver wolf's case cause if you don't got Jiaqiou she is a pretty good option in acheron teams. You can use her with ratio too like I said, but it'll probably be better to use him with moze or march 7th hunt. I'm definitely missing some teams that you can use her in, but these are the 2 that I use her the most in.
She was my first promotional, I still use her along with Jiaoqiu and Acheron.

The same thing happens in Honkai Impact so it's no surprise, the cones are very big improvements and in some characters they fix design flaws.
If only you had to pull another DPS it would be fine but instead you have to pull for the dedicated support as well. It's just too much, at least for true F2P. If you want to partake in the summon meta you may want sunday, if you want castorice you may want tribbie as well. Poor sparkle.

As a Yu-Gi-Oh! Player I have the answer: it'll never end. 25+ years of powercreep, people does no use decks in the competitive scene that are 6 months to 1 year old. Our dear companies never stop releasing new things, they need money and that is how it works...
I Personally change my main dps every six month that is a substantial change that meets the new requirements, but also as a Genshin player I can tell this to f2ps as me: we do not need every character and in the end you can play through the whole game with you favorite teams, no need to stress out if the is an overbroken new unit.

I feel this so hard. I've been using Acheron since she came out yet she honestly isn't taht good because I don't specifically have her light cone and her best support, Jiaoqiu. I use the best supports I have available to me and it just doesn't cut in on moc 12. And her stat line is pretty damn good as well. Some characters are so light cone reliant, or specific teammate reliant, or both.
Another example is Jingliu and Bronya. I've used those two together for so long but they just don't cut it anymore at all. I HAD to get Sunday even though I didn't want to because he is just so busted compared to any support we've ever seen that not getting him is just bad for the future of your account. I don't want it to be like "literally any team comp can clear" but I also don't like being forced into rolling on a specific banner to make my already-strong characters succeed because that character or light cone is such a buff to them. I actually went for Acheron's light cone and lost on it so I guess I just save for the next time she runs, but that would mean I HAVE to miss out on a bunch of characters in between.
All characters are dependent on having the right teammates.
The mistake is not getting those teammates.
PS: In general, each update gives enough resources for at least one 50/50. Don't obsess about needing to save up for X, dedicate the resources from the previous update and it's solved.
PS2: The next time Acheron might return is in 3.3 since it is rumored that Zipher is going to be Nihilism.

At this rate, i just log in to the game, do dailies and get those jades and try MOC. If i falied, i log out and jump to another game. HSR devs starting to show their true colors. They weren't always like this.
They were always like this. What happen was that HSR was in a market that had competitors so Mihoyo couldn't be greedy from the get go; since no monopoly. Thus, they played good cop and gave out tons of free stuff + tons of qoL to lure players into their game and now those players are over 1 year into the game, cost sunk fallacy has kicked in and they can't bring themselves to leave or they feel like they wasted their time/money. Mihoyo being aware of this has now dropped the pretense and show their true greedy side to milk players for all their worth by making the meta go super fast and instilling FOMO.
Another piece to the problem is the introduction of the wishing resin + variability dice. We know that HSR has an accelerated meta, like you mention, so these items essentially allow whales to get their character up and running much faster than a f2p/low spender who will have to grind for months in domains to get good artifacts for their character. By the time said players actually get those characters working they may have already fallen out of the meta and no longer viable and now they are asked to pull for either new supports to boost them or pull for the next latest DPS character.
I am CERTAIN that dot with get SOMETHING SOON. They can't keep neglecting it, right..?

ngl i feel the moc, bro i've always cleared it at 29 or 28 cycles, but now i barely got in 20 with my extremly well built break team, and my extremly well built acheron, now im not taking about 4 star light cones, decents stats, nah im saying there lightcone all traces on all the team members even basics for healers or supports, full sets all with very good stats and yet it so hard like bro acheron was doing 1M dmg and that wasn't enough to take 20% of its health? like bro what

this video is a lil confusing to me because you say you don’t play the game alot only when a character you like interests you so the endgame content shouldn’t really worry you being a casual player . also yes powercreep exists but firefly and acheron all early 2x dps units are still at the top of the meta many months after their release and will continue to be . the only units that will see maybe a significant decrease are the hunt units like boothill and feixiao since newer moc’s seem to be favoring aoe. time will tell if they up the hp in endgame modes again very soon but as of rn its not looking likely
Im a casual and im VERY interested in endgame as well. Being a casual doesnt really cancel out your interest in endgame and challenging content. Also calling myself a casual doesnt mean that i dont pour a lot of time into the game. The game just demands way more time, you know what i mean?

Power creep is worrisome if you are more attached to specific characters than just interested in the meta. I mea if you only want the optimal team and don’t care what the characters look like or their personality, it’s easy to upgrade into the next thing. But we do also get attached to specific characters and try to make them work even if there’s a newer better option. 😅
I hope they keep giving us opportunities to pull a new character to revive an older one. For example I love Jing Yuan so getting Sunday to pull him out of the dusty reserves into the main stages was just amazing.
The worst thing would be for the HSR to complete ignore the older characters and basically erase them for usability.

QUESTION: When will Hoyo just buff older characters? Not just adding new supports to buff them, but actully touching kit damage numbers and multiplyers?
Good news as someone who watches leaks the next patch DPS so far is at a lower level than Herta by a substantial amount yet is still capable of 3 cycling content outside of the shilled patch and the banner unit after Therta(Aglaea) is at best 10%-15% stronger than Acheron/JY teams which both are equal in dmg.
The thing to keep in mind with Aglaea is that she is competing for the same teams that Castorice is going to compete for.
There will be a True damage god that power creeps all harmony and buffers I bet.
I am sure 3.x characters will be close to each other but better at various roles like break was.

I've been begging for a DoT buff as much as everyone else, but I felt like this MoC was the best my DoT team has felt in a while tbh.
My team is E0S0 Kafka, E1S0 Black Swan, E1S0 Ruan Mei and E0S0 Lingsha and I pretty comfortably cleared in 3 cycles.
I also managed a 3 cycle clear with my Jingliu (E0S1), Robin, Sunday, Luocha (all E0S0) team and for fun I tried a full E0S0 run and still got 4 cycles.
Like I'm not denying that powercreep exists, it pretty obviously does, but I am just not really feeling the effects of it too badly yet.
The only thing that differentiates characters in HSR nowadays is their elements but most of the core mechanics are almost identical.
As a casual f2p, the moment i have enough jades to pull for a unit, the said units are already considered "powercrept" and old, coz newer units are being released every patch. I have DHIL & Jingliu hypercarry + Firefly break team... My account is struggling 😂
Yeah i bought Jingliu E1S1 on her rerun and i never used her after as right then the meta moved away from her, if i use her now i would only make it painfull

I have said this exact same thing when Firefly came out and on that comments i saw lot of different opinions with some dismissing it, some saying its inevitable and some saying to just use who i like
Really for me it mostly comes down to if you either miss the "core" unit the next few versions follow you are basically left in the dust or that their is going to be a certain point where the team/character i like just wont be good enough no matter how i build them when the newest team can just do more with less

Dots is not the worst team, it is simply a team that is half-built.
Break and hunt follow-up are teams that are complete and have little room for improvement.
I had the same toughts and decided that i will play her with no investment, save the jades to see what happens innthe future (3.4 -3.5) AND have no regrets she is amazing
I think the problem is because they always got 2 new characters each patch so characters are easly replaced ,especialy DPS characters.
DOT was among, if not the best team in 2.0, with a team of Kafka, Black Swan, Ruan Mei and Huo Huo being completely busted. Now, you can hardly clear with them, despite having two of them at E1. To me, this is insane!
Because the dots team is incomplete, we have 2 pieces (Kafka and Black Swan) but we are missing the other 2 pieces.
As a big Sampo enjoyer, I get really sad when new characters come out. I like using characters I like rather than 'this is strong so get it'...but I feel like HSR kinda feels like I HAVE to pull for newer units. I'm so happy I can finally use my Jing Yuan again but for how long?

I love sampo too. Before Black Swan was released I always used him and his single target skill break was really satisfying. He'll probably have a 5 star form when the Elation becomes the center of the story. Next year maybe?
It's the mihoyo special where you need to get your DPS to e2s1 to prevent them from falling off quickly. You're better off saving and getting fewer DPS at e2s1 than many DPS at e0s0/1 if you really want to avoid feeling like your DPS is constantly being powercrept. Most supports still function fine at e0 though there are some that will want e1 for their big power boost.
When my e2s1 DHIL, sparkle e0s1, robin e1s1, e1s1 huohuo is struggling to 4-5 cycle on Element. We have a huge problem. My dan isnt terribly built either. 82/169 with 3.5k atk. I dont want to bench the guy cuz I like his animation and the character. So honestly imma just skip everything til the giga op meta breaking character comes out to pull again.
My Misha team without any eidolons can 4-5 cycle on element, that's on you lol. I don't know why players are trying to pretend like their skill issue is somehow a powercreep problem.

Welp at some point i realized i just dont wanna even try to close MOC it just doesn't feel fun, because mechanics, powercreep are so bad that its not enjoyable. I just play mostly SU as it feels fun, and thats pretty much it, i guess you can tell its very casual gameplay and its probably the only way that feels fun if you are ftp or low spender
I think the main problem they are having is balancing the game where DPS and supports are strong instead of just supports.
When our best 1.x DPS was JingLiu, someone who was much weaker than Ruan Mei and Bronya.
I think they realized that when they made Hunt March 7th and HMC/RMC because they can dish out damage and add a form of support that is amazing.

While it is sad to see old characters get benched, we need incentive to pull new ones---even as it stands, that incentive is like 90% delusion. As for the rate of power creep, I've been using Acheron for everything, every time, for over a year, and it does get old.

Agree the powercreep is a huge issue, I can't play my Black Swan at all, cause I dont even have Kafka, but even if I did, would I use her? They need a Dot DPS that Changes the way dots work completely like brings up Black Swans Arcana to max stacks instantly I even got her light cone. But My Yunli Hypercarry Team is struggling compared to my Rappa Fugue Ruan Mei Lingsha Superbreak. Its like you are forced to run one really old team even if heavily invested into (like my yunli team she has her lightcone Adventurine has his light cone Tingyun E6 Sparkle E0S0) sometimes I can 3 star sometimes I can 2 because of lack of weakness type.
What a lot of people don't understand about HSR is that it's a numbers game, most of the battles are won before they even start, and it's all about the stats and SPD (action value). Because of this, the game has minimal skill expression when it comes to gameplay, you have to have good gear and the proper number of turns for each cycle and voila, you can beat end-game content despite the atrocious HP inflation. The problem with this is that the only way to make the end-game content more challenging, is to buff the numbers, mostly HP, DEF, Resists; this however results in a conundrum, the casual players won't open a spreadsheet and look up the action values of their characters and what stats they need on their characters to squeeze in that one extra ult that turns a 6 cycle in a 4 cycle for one of the MoC sides, no, the average players will look up a guide, settle on the 134+ SPD value and go from there without really understanding how Action Values properly works. So, the HSR devs give these people the easy way out, new busted characters, the issue is, you need these busted characters every 2 or so patches, with their supports and BiS teammates to be able to keep playing HSR casually, otherwise, you need to invest a lot of time into properly gearing your characters.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the HP inflation we got in the last 2 MoC resets won't affect even players who do understand AV and how to build their teams without looking out for a guide, it very much did impact them as well. The difference is that players that could comfortably clear MoC 12 before, now had to sweat a little and transfer gear between characters until they got to that sweet spot where they could clear it. As an example, I used to clear MoC 12 in 3-4 cycles before the 2.7 MoC update, then I dropped to 5-6 cycles, then when the 3.0 MoC update dropped, I struggled to clear it in 10 cycles for about a week, now I can comfortably clear it in 8 cycles, without The Herta, with The Herta? I'm back to 5-6 cycles. As long as the 3.1 MoC refresh doesn't bring a new HP increase, it should be fine, but if they do increase it again, I'll probably either quit or just accept that I won't clear end game content anymore and just play the game when I'm bored. TBH, if I didn't like the lore and some of the characters in the game, I'd probably stop playing HSR after this whole fiasco.

See, I’m a simple person, so I personally believe that there should just never be a “strongest anything”, because to me it just completely devalues anything and everything else. Like I really want Seele because her talent is really fun, and I absolutely love Jingliu, but when I’m slapped in the face with “just get the newer units that have over saturated modifiers and that you most likely don’t care about”, it’s just soul crushing.
And I know it’s a gacha game, they want you to spend money to get the new things even if those things aren’t to your liking. But the point of a ‘video game’ is to have fun regardless of circumstance, not wait for the next limited game (character) to stop by and punish everyone else for missing it. My line of thinking is that if I have this one five star, and the other five stars after it are just stronger and nicer, why even call the character a five star if they’re out classed and out performed
Sorry, I do again understand that it’s a gacha game and these things shouldn’t be making one mald, but when there’s an issue as simple to solve as this one, but nothing is being done about it (from our knowledge), it’s just irritating

E2S1 Kafka main here, felt very very satisfied for a liiiiiitle bit. skipped black swan because i just didn't like her but i got her on her rerun because kafka is literally non functional without her. pulled ruan mei on her rerun just because of how strong she was. pulled E1S1 acheron because i actually liked her too. said team cant' even beat moc or as comfortably because... i didn't whale 6 months later instead for jiaoqiu who i also don't like i guess. atleast it's not as bad as my E1S1 blade who hasn't seen an endgame mode in over a year. this game is miserable

I agree that as a F2P prioritizing supports is the way to go. I've been using Qingque since day 1 and she still clears fine because of Sparkle and Sunday. The only dps I pulled in the 2.X patches was Firefly. Basically the strategy is pull one good dps that you lke and then focus on supporting that dps.

Yeah, because without powercreep, without new units being stronger than previous existing ones, the biggest factor for pulling new characters would suddenly be gone. Every new character's kit would essentially be a copy paste of another, with maybe one new mechanic or two tossed in, and a different face, different appearance. It would be reduced to nothing more than a waifu/husbando collector.
The growth of powercreep in the game may not fit most of the playerbase very well, but regardless, the company has to earn money at the end of the day. Collection isn't even a big incentive for pulling.
to be fair Acheron is still one of the strongest DPS out there and maybe The Herta being an Eminator as well they will not powercreep her to much, for me personally I believe certain Meta's lose relevance with new characters and it might not be a super bad thing (for instance 2.x was the break effect Meta; 1.x was more the DoT meta and now 3.0 will go back to FuP and summon Meta)
Seele might get her time to shine again in the future when her Niche returns again I mean there are rumores that Castorice will synergize quite nicely with Blade so one can only hope.

I feel you I got E1S0 Firefly and Lingsha and E1S1 Robin for my Acheron and Feixiao team and they went from finishing MOC 12 leaving 25-27 turns and now they made it to turn 20.

The problem with her logic is that just because a character isn't the best anymore it doesn't make them bad. Acheron is still a perfectly good character and you can clear stuff with her, for example.
I agree that powercreep is a bit too fast in HSR, but there is also certainly no reason at all to assume that Big Herta is going to be bad after just a couple of months!
2025 plan for HSR: Stop caring about clearing endgame with max stars! The rewards for doing so are NOTHING compared to the cost of vertically investing in a character. I'm just going to play the game, and pull for characters I like. That's it. They'll always be good enough to finish events and the story, and probably get most of the rewards in MOC/AS/PF.

Who do you think is better therta with serval Sunday adventurine or huohuo. Or robin with yunli Sunday/march7hunt and huo huo. Or full in castorice(obviously we don’t know how strong but I’ve heard she’ll be STRONG)
no clue on castorice, but i would say herta / sunday / serval / huohuo would be good
robin is amazing too, you can use robin over sunday here
yunli & march aren’t so good here, you really want that 2nd erudition; if your herta is strong enough, herta serval robin sunday works for sustainless (or even replacing sunday for rmc)
Make sure Sunday has his LC, if not i rather advice you to use RMC because getting them to E6 is easier than the previous MC's Eidolons, plus all of their Eidolons (except for E6 anyway) is very useful. Sunday without his LC on -1 spd could result in a painful SP problem
If you're going to force me to use Sunday then go for Castorice.
also herta and acheron are special units, they will release units like them once a year, it's why they launch so strong compared to the average units, there are units like these in all hoyo games, HI3rd it's herrschers, genshin it's archons, zzz it's void hunters, HSR it's emanators, can't really hold these units to the standard of every other unit that comes out, there kind of suppose to be the best for there role

As someone who started late, I hate the fact that old characters who I love are just not worth pulling for if you care about 3 starring endgame. I want kafka blade and silver wolf because I love the stelleron hunter group and how important they are to the story and the MC but 3 out of the 4 hunters are straight up useless against these 3-4 million hp enemies 😭
TLDR: Pull for supports first and let the meta marinate for a while. Remember that people said used to say that Ruan Mei wasn't going to be that good because break was apparently "horrible" at the time
I think The Herta will age well while you are planning to play her on Pure Fiction, I'm more concern about Aglaea, Mydei and Tribbie future to be honest, they scream: "I will be powercreep"
so far so good, my E2 S1 Acheron team is holding up with the new enemies though I think the new boss flat out denied my Fu Xuan.

I've been trying to figure out why Herta feels so lackluster to me. People think that I believe she is weak. And that's not it. I think she is an extremely powerful dps. But as an Emanator, I thought she would have a bigger impact. What u said in this video made it click. Ever since Acheron, it's been a stronger unit after stronger unit. Herta now, instead of being a special unit cause she is an emanator, just feels like another piece coming down the conveyor belt to be replaced soon. She is not special like Acheron was or the Archon's in Genshin. Or like Jinshi from Wuwa and Miyabi in ZZZ. HSR has oversaturated itself that it's special characters don't feel special
Just today, I saw Saint's react on ur month old GI Powercreep vid & I must say that Pokemon analogy was peak, we all have been there & done that. Later, this vid shows in my feed & it was actually a better take than many CCs only praising THerta & neglecting the main issue.
By now, I've lost most hope for meta & creep, I'll just pull units that cater to my likings which for now are THerta (lost 50/50 on Fugue) & Mydei (hope 3.1 + rng provides enough for guarantee).
i pulled on her banner, didnt get her in like 10 to 20 pulls and then i felt like i really dont want / need her because my pf roster is already peak and i got myself Feixia, now i can run every primer follow up team, except topaz which i would love to have too :)

Even if a stronger Erudition unit gets released, they are not Herta. I couldn't give a damn about their damage.
I am also struggling with the same DOT team (except I don't have Huohou), but I still love this team. But it is getting harder and harder with them.
And I love Kafka and Black Swan, Kafka was my first limited 5* character because I started to play when she was first released.
New characters definitely buff old ones. Sunday = Jing Yuan, RMC = Argenti, Tribbie = Blade. Also Hoyo is a Business they want to sell you old and new characters as often as possible. So this problem that exists now wont exist in the future as more flexible Harmony Units come out.

genshin meta is so unfun and stale the fact natlat is meta but in order to have good natlant units you need to get more than 2 in one party is boring af also the spyral is a cancer rn
hsr is moving to fast its still in 6th gear and is looking to go to seven its becoming impossible to keep up with and its powercreep is becoming a problem to the point you need every light cone and every character thats needed for a team no compremise and even then clearing content feels more like luck
and zzz is fine rn
me who has E6 Acheron, no one can tank my damage this is the solution for powercreep but chose who to E6 wisely
HoYo is already releasing filler patches with mediocre main stories (and no skip button so that the devs can say "look, players played our mediocre story for 100 hours, they absolutely love the story"), imagine they would start introducing mediocre characters. That would be the final nail in the coffin xD
