There are some rides that just leaves an imprint on you . Mine was silver strand beach in Oxnard . The waves were breaking outside channel Islands harbor . It was big and offshore . I got my wave way outside and big . When i took off I could not believe how fast I was going . My wet hair was blowing in the wind . The wave took me halfway down the beach similar to a point break except silverstrand is a beach break . Size, swell and wind direction made for perfect combination . Looks like a memorable day

I love silver strand. Super fun place to surf, I have been out there a few times when it’s head high but never overhead. You’re wave sounds equally as epic as mine. Cheers brother 🤙

Thanks brother 🤙 yeah it was super windy for most of the session but there was a few moments that were definitely worth it.
1 minute 5 second wave is not to shabby and what I remember with this spot. Right leg burning by the end of the wave. I had a day out there with surf this size and a pod of dolphins. They surfed with us for hours. One of my best days surfing! I would have 5 or 6 dolphins on a wave and some would completely breach and splash back in the face of the wave. The water was super clear and blue that day and you could see them right next to you in the wave. Only 30 people out and all of us with the biggest smiles on our faces. It was unreal- wish there were go pros back then. Best day ever! I miss Rincon and living in SB. Thanks for the video
Only 30 people out, dolphins and over a minute long rides...... definitely the best day ever. That’s never the case anymore. It’s gets over crowded now when it’s even 2 foot. Lol. Still a magnificent place. Thanks for watching and sharing 🤙
@@LorenBird This was over 20 years ago and it's etched in my memory like it was yesterday. My other favorite spot down there was little con, shooting the pier or Hammonds or Miramar. But one day that stands apart from others was at El Captain. I got really lucky on a super clean day with a handful of surfers and the longest thickest barrels ever. Some campers spectating that day, told me they thought I was goner when I caught my wave of the day. They were looking for me in the white water and I was hidden from sight the entire ride, until it broke on me at the large rock on the inside. I still think of that ride today, the drop was sick, so steep and I air dropped squared up my shoulders and dug in. There was no where to go and I couldn't get out but stayed in until the end. and it was throwing the whole way. I tried to punch through, but it sucked me over the falls. Wish I had a video of that. If you ever get the chance and the stars align, I highly recommend El Cap. It only breaks a few days a year and is a far stretch from SB, but would make excellent content.

Not the best surfed wave of my life, but biggest fastest longest ride of my life for sure 🤙
I surfed for a few summers when I was a grom, then again in my early 20’s but only recently picked it up again 3 years ago and only started really taking it seriously last year then had to have multiple surgeries on my left foot and thought it was over but a year later I’m back in the water 🤙🙏❤️
