- An all-round adventure companion, the Odyssey Freediver GMT is our first ‘true’ GMT dive watch with an elegant, slim profile thanks to its compact Miyota 9075 hi-beat movement (28,800 bph).
The unidirectional ceramic bezel is dual-tone and graduated for 24 hours. Smoothly click it into place while the arrow-tipped GMT hand monitors home time, tracking up to three time zones simultaneously.
We’ve also added a new gradient dial, getting lighter in tone towards its translucent center that offers a glimpse of the movement ticking inside.
Furnished with instantly recognizable polished angular lugs and a satin-finished case, this GMT diver is a breeze to maneuver by ‘jumping’ the hour hand to local time, without affecting the GMT & minute hands. The date will also correct itself either forward or in retrograde without missing a beat. Convenient.

It was so smart for Miyota to make an affordable true GMT movement. That's a game changer.
The colorway, dial and overall aesthetics are definitely attractive. The function of that GMT is cool too.

Yeah they certainly have. This GMT is a huge opportunity since Miyota has been very selective and particular regarding who receives these movements.

They did a nice job on the ratcheting. Would’ve preferred a bi-directional though but not a deal breaker.

Really like the aesthetic of this one, I'm a big fan of that angular look. It is a big boy though right on the ragged edge of what I would feel comfortable wearing, nice watch though 👍
It’s a big boy alright but well executed indeed. Would’ve liked to seen this in a 42-43mm personally.
If Zelos and Phoibos had a GMT love child, it may look like this. Really like the overall design, the case shape, hands and indexes.
There is enough going on the dial, the translucent face doesn't add anything. I don't understand decorated display casebacks.

Great review Joe! I like the design, specs and price is in line with the overall offering. I just wish it was a tad smaller. Also, and it just hit me, this watch to me looks an awful lot like the Zelos Swordfish.... take a look and let me know.

I appreciate your effort in putting together this review. You could've told us whether the bezel was 60-click, which it sounded like it was. This means they just used a diver's bezel and replaced the 60-minute markings with the 24. The uni-direction is another give-away. Unfortunately this also means the 24-hour markings can't line up exactly at their exact 24 positions. If you'd told us that, we can conclude this Boldr watch is unbuyable.

Will you please comment on this movement’s rotor noise? Does it have the typical sound that Miyota movements are famous for? Sort of rattling and tinny?
On wrist you feel or hear the movement. If you shake the watch it will spin freely as Miyotas. The sound here is neither tinny or rattling. Sound of the rotor is a not an issue at all and only if you attempt to spin the rotor and put your up to the watch, you’ll hear the rotor spin.
Wow, I thought that was a scratch too. That would bother me. I don't like that design. It's not a deal breaker, but I'm not feeling that part.
Yeah, I get the uniqueness of doing something like that but sometimes you just have to stick to traditional if it affects the aesthetic look. Thanks buddy.
How would you assess Boldr’s customer service?
I’ve had limited contact with them to give you an honest and fair assessment. I just borrowed this watch from them to do the review.
A diver GMT.... Because I'm worried about the time in London, rather than time at depth, while diving.
When these jump hours become more and more common in the sub $1k category what will all the watch snobs do? I predict when they get towards $500 people will start realising that a caller GMT is more functional for 95% of the population and the obsession with ‘true’ gmt was nothing more than snobbery as it was a more luxury end complication.
I don’t disagree. Miyota has been very selective with who will receive these movements and therefore makes these desirable and scarce at the moment.
There is no such thing as a gmt jump hour, I don't know where you get that definition from, it is a gmt traveler like the longines or the mido gmt unlike the seiko gmt that was only modified for a third hand and that is only a movement with dual time use, this miyota 9075 caliber is far superior to the Seiko, this is 28800 bph, you still have a lot to learn about this caliber and what a true gmt traveler is, by the way the tudor belongs to these and it is not a jump gmt
