We're getting the pushrod suspension on this twin Tesla swapped EV C10 squarebody fully functional this week! Since Viking performance is sending over coil overs specific to our motion ratio and weight of the EV truck, we took that down time to have Chris Hazel from Zero EV over. We were sick and tired of having to boot up a laptop every time we wanted to start our truck, so he brought over a fancy new box to help us program our truck to start with just the push of a button. When our new suspension parts finally arrived from Viking, we still had a bit more measuring before we could get them installed. That's because we needed to get JC's help making some machined bushings and spacers to make sure everything fit nice and snug! With all of our ducks in a row, we were finally able to get to the install of these coil overs in our cantilever set up. It wouldn't be an S2S episode without a little fabrication, so Tim beefs up our control arms before bolting everything together and giving our suspension one final weld. By the end of the episode, we're tearing up the streets of South Florida with a much smoother ride than before! We're so close to being able to take this truck to the track. The last steps is installing a limited slip differential, hooking up our Simpson harnesses and loading this truck up for it's first track day! So stay tuned because you're not going to want to miss this truck ripping some smokey AWD burnouts!

I love the fact that you guys are still working on this beast to get it right and that you didn't just get it "SEMA finished" and then drop it after the show. I guess that's the difference between a real shop and a RUclips shop ;-).
SEMA was awesome but this truck's real show will be at the track! We couldn't just stop cause we went to Vegas! Thanks for the love!
5:58 Love to see the pros just as excited as any backyard mechanic about new parts
Mail time is our favorite time! Especially if there are shirts or stickers in the box!
The horsepower to sound ratio is awesome. This could make local tracks more feasible in city limits... AWD Electric would be a game changer!
We definitely miss the sound of some 2 steppin, but there's something absolutely crazy about taking off like a rocket with just about no sound!
Holy shit that suspension. I was absent from school on geometry day but that thing looks functional as hell. Even better though, it looks so sick
Thanks so much bro!
the engineering on everything is top notch wish I had the fund for a c10 build from you guys
We really appreciate the compliment! And in time, anything is possible!
The set backs are not a big deal for us watching at home. Atleast for me its all entertainment... love the video
Thanks for the patience! We're glad you're liking the build. We should have her doing real burnouts in no time!
Awesome work guys, I was looking for this update. My first take will be the base plates for suspension in the front, beef those up or connect them with an under bar plate so they will share the load of cornering / power. Happy to see ZeroEV there and helping you fix the issues with the software, I just love your approach in this way engaging other experts in your builds. Good job and finally this projects is done and looks sick, worth all the waiting, work and upgrades. Best regards to your team and looking forward for your next EV project. BTW, you need a Tesla vacuum pump so the noise will disappear - I bet on that making the noise.
Thanks for watching! We're hoping to get those burnouts for you guys next episode
Hate that RUclips will just stop recommending videos From channels I’m subbed to, always love to see the Tesla-10 content
Give us a follow on IG! We always make sure to give y'all a heads up on when new content it dropping
Awesome to see more on this truck. Wish I was closer to see it in person, but the power of the interwebs brings it to my house. I'm stoked to see you guys come back and do what you said you were going to do in the beginning. Now we need more DeLorean content, since someone hasn't finished it yet, wink wink.
We've had the DeLorean at a showroom in Miami for the time being, but it should be making its way back to the shop in the next few weeks so we can show you that start up!
Amazing build. Bet you hear a few more rattles than a normal build due to no monster engine noise. Love the sound of this ride.
You hear everything now that you don't have a V8 rumbling there!
i absolutely love seeing the S2SLA hitting the streets, its hard to remember how it started a year ago... still thankful that crate of testa parts actually showed up!
It all started with a crate of weird looking parts and a few steal beams. Those were the days!
An EV that actually makes (real) motor noises. I like it.
Even though it's an EV. It's still hotrodding. Keep up the craftsmanship
Thanks so much!!!
I love watching this truck continue on evolving, sima was only the beginning this truck one day will be in Jay Leno's garage my guys
Hopefully! Maybe once the Delorean is ripping beside it, they'll both be in there!
@@SalvagetoSavage I forgot about the DeLorean! That's on a whole new level of badass,.. Doc from the future should come to the past check that build out!!!
Mr. Rolls on the fab work! mad respekt that the owner can also sling tools!
He's always in the shop working on something!
Bet the shop is an absolute blast work work in....love the outtakes at the end. Damn I cant believe its been a year on this truck already.....time flies when your having fun, as always keep killin it!!!!
Thanks for the love and continued support! Having a small, tight knit team is definitely helps!
Every electric vehicle should have a tube frame and bell crank suspension. Sick build.
Just a word of wisdom for all of you who learn by watching RUclips videos, coil over shock adjustment is not for changing ride height. Ride height is determined though the coil length and shock tube travel. The adjustments nuts are for changing corner weight. When you use the adjustment nuts to change ride height you risk binding springs, bottoming out of the shock, and a few other bad bad conditions. Now you know.
Chris is the man, been following his EV stuff for a while now.
Can't wait to see more, this thing looks sick. :)
He's awesome! He saved our lives with this project and it was great getting him into the shop!
Salvage bto Savage is an awesome bunch of BRADAS mean FAB wk man that is JUST FKN AWSOME SHET sorry for my friends but youall AWSOME. 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙💯👍
I've been all in on this square body. Keep going, make it perfect. Great build. 👍
We're not stopping till it's tearing up a track!
Ahhhh I saw Andrews LS 350Z that’s awesome, I hope we get to see something on that build too.
Hopefully we'll be getting him drifting right next to the EV truck!
Hey, JC Customs is doing our Gearbox for our Baja Car! They always deliver awesome work!
He's a CNC genius!
Hi Guys, those are some beautiful billet bellcranks, but it looks like you currently have a falling rate suspension in the rear. You need to re-engineer those so that the angle from the unsprung pushrod is to the bellcrank is >90 degrees at droop and at ride height, and then approaches but doesn't fall below 90 degrees at full compression. Dennis Palatov of Palatov motorsports has patent you can look up, or just give him a call.
This truck is going to be a total BEAST. It's already going pretty hard. Great Job guys.
We're just excited to get our new diffs so we can drift it!
@@SalvagetoSavage You need to do a collab with Cleetus McFarland and drift it at the Freedom Factory 🏭. Once you get the AWD burnout settings working it will be EPIC FUN 🤩.
With that modification of the lower control arm, you have the heim joint riding on the threads of the bolt, which is not good. There are two ways you can have the heim on the shaft part of the bolt instead of on the threads. Aerospace bolts let you specify how long the shaft is, versus how long the threads are, and you can get a bolt that has the shaft length you need, without excessive threads. The other alternative is to use a longer bolt, and then cut the threads down to be the length you need, and then just chamfer the end of the bolt, so the thread engagement is nice and smooth with the nut.
Still the best EV build I've seen come from the USA so far. F'ing killer guys!!!
Thanks so much!
Damn, the truck sounds and looks so much better now that you have had a while to dial in the engineering. What a fantastic project and demonstration of your shop's ability to innovate.
Chris saved us on that one. He did in one day what it would have took us weeks worth of trial and error to come up with!
@@SalvagetoSavage The ability to call in experts as and when required is also a strength though. You are enhancing your traditional network with new EV people.
That is the first time in my life on this earth that I can honestly say that I love an electrical car. a Big like from me.....⚡👍
Thanks so much! Glad we can turn you to the dark side!
killing it like allways!
Thank you!!
Looks like the suspension looks like it is working really well. So much better than the first try! Good job guys!
This truck is really coming together guys! Sooo Dope!!
Thank you!!
Crazy Sick suspension Well Done Gentleman.
Thank you!
Just keeps getting better.. I'll echo a comment I saw below its great to see it keep getting better rather than getting it to sema and then moving on to something new knowing there was scope for so much more with it..
Steering wheel needs moving it needs some glass but other than that it looks ready to go for a blast on the track.
We try to finish out everything we start! Hopefully we'll have the Delorean back on the channel for you guys real soon too!
Hey a Duracell shoutout lol. Been a mechanic there for 17 years. Awesome truck guys.
That "That's what she said!" came out of nowhere! Pfffffffffhahahaha! 😂😂😂
We try to keep the channel as family friendly as possible. There are far wilder things said that get cut out of these videos! lol
This truck is SICK!!! nicely done guys!
Thanks!!
It would be cool to have an optional artifical engine sound where you can turn on and off. One of the loudest artificial engine sound. haha.
It would be hilarious to have multiple random engine sounds that they could switch between like fighter jet on afterburners, steam engine, motorcycle ect
I'm telling you, you guys will daily this truck constantly and really come to appreciate ev conversions. I'm just wondering what the next conversion will be...
Well this one's not really daily-able. But we might just swap something that will be soon!
The truck looks like a totally different beast altogether. You can see the confidence when it’s taken through its paces. I love it🤙🤙🤙
And now we're not bouncing around in the drivers seat!
@@SalvagetoSavage It must be a smooth ride, I would imagine.
You guys are officially my new favorite channel on YT. The quality of your work is top notch which takes time. I look forward to an all wheel drive burnout too but the build process on this truck is super interesting to me the way you guys are doing it.
Thanks so much! Hopefully you get a chance to check out the whole build series!
this truck HAS to end up in a video game, Forza, GT, N4S, somethin.
That would be sick!
I’d like to see head to head with the fastest production Tesla in a drag race.
We'd be down once we get that last 10% dialed in!
@@SalvagetoSavage Hoonigan This vs That ;)

Very Cool! Don't sweat the time line.
With any new technology there is a learning curve.
Thanks for the support and understanding. This is like a prototype for us. Luckily it's coming to a finish soon!
WOW !!what a quality build,so impressed.I did a five minute I.C.E. Tesla swap.was going to put ev motor in my 1963 Dodge truck.changed my mind just too quiet!!LOL
Makes.ypu appreciate tesla all the work involved
It's definitely been a long road to get here!
Good work gents, people just cant grasp how much work goes into these builds! I know I can't, but you all are killin it...
It's not just the fabrication time either. This is essentially a prototype, since we really had nothing to base an dual LDU AWD electric truck on. So it's a lot of going back and forth and seeing what will work and what won't. We're stoked to have your support on this build and hope you keep following along!
We need more content on this C10 Dammit!!
We just put out a new episode last week!
What made trucks or race cars was the sound it made when you rev up the engine. Electric cars has that electric sound Very quiet. What if u add an exhaust to make it sound fast like maybe hooking up some blowers to the exhaust to make the sound badass
NICE! I am certainly looking forward to the burnouts. Being able to do rear wheel, front wheel and all wheel, on demand burnouts would be the icing on the cake! 🎂 PLEASE make that happen! It would be AWESOME ALL AROUND!!! PUN intended!
We're not stopping with this truck until it happens! That's been what's kept us going this entire time
@@SalvagetoSavage Looking Forward To Just That!
I like the precision of joure work
Thank you!!
"That's what she said" Epic Mikey! 😂
That was the only tame joke we could put in this one! lol
@@SalvagetoSavage I love the EV truck. It is the EV truck that Elon's Cybertruck wants to be.
The rip at 18:45 sounded sick
Oh man it's cool to see that thing ripping, been a long time coming! It looks amazing. Can't help but notice that the front coilover brackets aren't gusseted at all -- I just see stitch welds on top of the tube? I don't know how the forces translate through the pushrod configuration, but it feels like front suspension mounting should be BEEFCAKE. If I may make a suggestion, your machinist can make a lower component to the brakcet so that it clamps around the tube, rather than welding on. It looks like you'd have to disassemble the whole front end to get an angle to fully gusset that bracket, but a clamp-on could be just as strong and be removable/adjustable in the future.
Thanks for the insight! It's definitely something we'll look into. We're just excited to get this thing on the road with a working suspension
Be dope to see it race the hoonicorn.
We'd love that!
Definitely need to see this on This vs That @Hoonigan
100%!
Been on the road ALL day wait'n to get home to watch this ! Keep on Truck'n boizzzzzz ! \m/
Glad you made it home safe Gene! Thanks for all the support. Love to see ya back in the comments!
This truck makes me want to convert a 88' S10 Blazer 4x4.
DO IT!
That's an awesome build, that no words can really express.. : ) You're paving the way for other custom builders. Eco-friendly tech is largely absent from the custom car building community, and it's a breath of fresh air ( pun intended ) to see this in action. What I'd be curious to see is an off-road / overland version of a tesla swapped truck, possibly with a range extender, given that offroading often ( always? ) mean away from charging grid infrastructures? Just an idea: combining a motorcycle engine with the latest and greatest tech generator ( Siemens 99% efficiency and impressively low weight ) as a range extender. Would give that roar back to those that missed it.
Nice full scale rc car!
We're loving it now!
I've had dreams of doing this swap for years, I now require one after seeing how fast that was lmao
Needed these 20 min at the end of a long shitty day. Thank you gents 🙏 truck is looking awesome
Thanks so much for watching! So glad we can brighten up your day!
I love the race truck.
However…
I hope you guys make a Tesla swapped sleeper truck from a similar vintage Ford or Chevy. Keep a somewhat traditional look, but secretly an electric monster underneath = WOW!
We might just do that soon! Thanks for watching DMG!
Nice and Interesting build fella , sorry to hear about your manhood shortcomings. 😃
Ain’t nothing short about our manhoods. Lol.
Not gonna lie that’s pretty sick
Thank you!
Once finished, take it out to the Hoonigans this vs that series and drag race it
That's what we're trying!
man this makes me super happy to see her on the ground and rolling. love you guys, boss man
ooh that freakin awsome..Fantastic Project Guys..👍
Glad you like it! We're going to be getting it doing burnouts real soon!
I absolutely love this ev truck
Thx Simon! The truck is like a love hate relationship for us but I’m sure it will bring us more joy once it’s doing it’s thing. Super close
👍 it's about time. 🏆 Steady getting closer to perfection. Sometimes you have to walk away from it to solve the issue at hand.
Especially when you get really frustrated with it! lol
Sweet, finally hitting the road with success. Get those squeaks fixed and it will be hot, waiting for the AWD burn down, order some new tires!!
We got a set that we'll be doing burnouts with so we don't kill the toyos! And the squeaks are the only sounds we have left since there's no exhaust noises! What would we listen to without em? lol
Welcome to the new world.
it looks just like a remote control vehicle! awesome, some serious engineering!
It brings us back to our childhood!
Man those seats are badass
Status racing did us right!
GET 'ER DONE! cool project!
Thanks for the love!
Lowered mini truck is the perfect EV build. I mean there lightish and can fit alot of battery in that bed. Thats kinda the thing of ev were used to the way cars are made now and thats based around the gas engine. In passenger cars if they mount under the cab like tesla its gonna have to sit higher to put a second one of those in. Cause thats the biggest thing is range for people
An EV S10 would be sick!
Such a Beautiful pice of engineering
Thank you!
Yes!!! Can’t wait for the 4 wheel burnout.
Oh yeah I've seen this build before! I'm subscribed now and I want to watch this whole build!
That creaking noise would drive me insane!! besides that, cool square body-
Especially with no exhaust noise to drown it out!
Definitely!! Just creak creak creak LOL 😂
Looking good! There are a few EV conversion electric power steering pumps out there that would be significantly quieter than the one in there. Just in case the noise ever drives you nuts :).
We're already looking into a full electric set up. but at the same time, it's meant to be a race truck, so a little noise never hurt anyone! Thanks for all the support!
Definitely give the Energizer Bunny a run for its money ;)
Hopefully this one will keep goin and goin too!
I love this build so much. Have you guys seen how Jerryrigeverything solved the steering pump whining sound?
We can do an electric PS rack. We have one going in a 68 mustang and the set up was super compact and simple. That's something we'll address when we go to reconfigure the steering column
@@SalvagetoSavage Thanks for the reply! It was probably a stupid suggestion anyway. Obviously you guys know what you're doing lol
Nice cantilever suspension 🤘🤙✌👍
Glad you like it!!
I want those rear fender flairs for my square Suburban

Awesome articulation.
Just what I was waiting for! Hopefully the ride is improved.
Edit: ride looked way smoother, its no luxury SUV but I'm sure with some dialing it'll take corners like a champ.
If it was floating like an SUV we'd definitely have a whole different set of issues to deal with! We're stoked to being getting close to taking this thing out on the track for y'all!
I wish I can do this with my Nissan d21 this is the coolest truck
You can! You should check out the episode that has Dave's EV swapped Mercedes in it!
Dang I haven’t use a late machine or a Miller machine since 85
That’s a wild ride. I love it.😀
Love to hear it! Thanks for watching!
Awesome video. Don't know if y'all will run into this issue with that Tesla S subframe, but if the truck is lowered, you'll want adjustable rear toe arms and camber arms. On the Tesla Ss, they wear tires out real fast if you don't. Ask me how I know...
Good call! Yes we came up with a fix for that. You’ll see in next weeks episode
@@SalvagetoSavage btw: cool meeting you guys at fuelfest! Keep up the good work
Alsoooo gonna need a replication of that body kit for when i do my SWB plz

Damn, that thing goes well.
She's gonna be a ripper!
Amazing video!! I love being able to watch Tim beef up those control arms, it’s pretty cool watching this truck become an electric beast!!!
You guys are very talented. Cheers.
Thank you so much 😀
Loving this truck
Absolutely beautiful. Work of art. Glad to see it running and on the road. Some air struts would look awesome in there too with some hard lines ran for the air. For 💩 n giggles. Wrap the motors to look like Duracell batteries
