This song is so underrated. This is one of my favorite Heart songs. I love the power and emotion of film and music combined. I love the harmonies Nancy and Ann create together.
This is actually one of my favorites from Heart & as much as I think Ann has an absolutely amazing voice, I really love Nancy’s voice too which is a bit softer & less powerful, but very compatible w/certain types of songs.
Well to me this is what makes the band so good, There are just as many good songs sung by Anne as there are by Nancy both women are amazing singers and as this one shows their voices harrmonizes so well together, They did this for years together and theres no rivalry Anne supports nancy through this song as much as Nancy supports Anne through Alone theyre a prized duo and they make amazing music as a team
1990 flashback!!! What a feeling when you dont hear a song in over like 25 years but still know every word. They dont play this one on the radio now like some of their earlier ones. This is the one that made me know and loooove Heart. My 7 year old little self performed the heck out of this back in the day! So underrated and still my favorite Heart song.
Agree about Heart and talent, but I don't see how this could be anyone's favorite Heart song. They have so many good rockers I just never thought these generic power ballads were all that good. Plus Ann's vocals are on another level.
@@morganjanelle4282 Really? "There's the Girl" doesn't even sound like Heart to me. I guess this doesn't either but it's closer. Nancy is great but her voice is nowhere near Ann's.
Heart a classic example of why the 80s the best decade on the planet for music in my book, especially in terms of female rock music. The 80s totally rocked. Absolutely brilliant.
Agree -- but Heart's 70s output was even better. Heart had a lot of good music in the 80s and 90s but their best songs during that period were never released as singles. If you've never heard it I highly recommend putting on some headphones and listening to "Mistral Wind" off their Dog and Butterfly album. Kick back and close your eyes as that song starts off as a quiet breeze before exploding into a metal hurricane before winding back down to where it started. It's an 8 minute epic journey with some of the most incredible vocals and guitar riffs ever.
They were and still are the best women to ever sing. I remember seeing them singing live in the Fred Meyers in Bellevue years ago. But now being sick and stuck! In bed all the time.... What I wouldn't give to see and
Annie got most of the lead vocals but this song showcases what a great voice Nancy Wilson had. Her ability with an acoustic guitar leaves me beyond words. This is my favorite Heart song. Rock and Roll forever with the music of the Wilson Sisters!
@user-qs9jl1bl2u Nancy has a very similar voice to Ann's. She just doesn't have quite the range and no where near the power of Ann. She struggles a bit when she has to hit the higher notes and power vocals.
@@heartfanjim01 maybe at a lower easy tone they sound a bit a lot. You spot on about she can’t hit the high note or have the power in her voice. If you pay attention to all the songs Nancy fronted in heart they are all mostly in the same tone low and soft
I *so* admire Ann's willingness to step back and allow younger sister Nancy to develop into a second great lead singer for Heart in the 1980s & 90s. Not many lead singers of famous bands can do that!
My absolute favorite duo and song. Was lucky to see them once in concert. I've been in love with their music since I was 15. I am 42 and this song always brings me back
Amazing performance, and also one of the reasons why Heart is the best band of all time in my opinion. They share the limelight and don't let their relationship problems get in the way of the music. Major kudos. This group gets it.
If I was stranded on a desert island and could only pick one band's songs to take with me, it'd be Heart. Their songs are like Beatles songs, they sound like they existed long before they were written!
I grew up listening to Heart and through the years this has always been my all-time FAVORITE song by these amazing sisters!! I still blast this song in the car and sing my heart out
Watching this for the Nth time .. And today I'm telling my niece about the powerful sisters who gave the rock and roll men a run for their money... Both very beautiful and talented... Then and now.
I've loved this song for 30 years and somehow didn't know, or had forgotten somehow, that Nancy sang lead on this. Completely underrated voice...which is easy to understand when you're singing with Ann.
Ever thought she might be a controlling manipulative psychotic b*tch who kills your pets, turns your family and friends against you and sleeps around?? Ohh but she looks good and can sing at bit...
Totally forgot about this song.....Still a good tune... Reminds me of our junior high school dances...8th grade ....Wow ...how time flys....Times sure have changed.....take me back to the good old days.....
Ann is the greatest female rock singer of them all , this track shows Nancy , allbeit a different style , is right up there . Gorgeous song done to perfection . Such incredible talent in one family .

Never ever did I think that one song could say everything that needed to be said about love & heartbreak all in one. This particular masterpiece by the Wilson sisters hits close to home on so many levels. The scenery surrounding Elliott Bay & the Fremont Bridge just made me love this song even more.
Who doesn't love this song. Probably my second favorite Heart song next to the song Never. Love the video too. Timeless song that I still listen to this day.
One of my top 10 favorite songs....I understand this song is about abandonment , breakup and separation and the grief that follows.....my wife died from cancer back in 2014 and I have been alone ever since till this day...every time I hear this it brings me to tears....such a beautiful song....just one of many that Heart has given us all
Another great Heart twist in Nancy taking the reigns on the lyrics here. We knew she was awesome from their only #1 hit "These Dreams". I also LOVE the guitar solo on this one - has haunted my dreams many times. The Wilson sisters are just EPIC!
As a musician myself, playing in Rock and metal bands over the years. Heart were always incredibly talented as songwriters, musicians and those vocals. Man, those vocals. Particularly Ann, Wow!!! Nancy's great too. Incredibly gifted songwriters. Their talent speaks above anything else.
