My Problem with Nintendo is that how they try to kill all traces of the Wii U with the "Switch". First of all: the ports from the wii u to the switch. Kid: Dad, why does every game has "deluxe edition" written all over it? Dad: Do you want the game now which is the same game of an console nobody wants talk about none reason, just with new content which could have been practical as an 10 Dollars DLC? Second: Why the hell are the newest Title so frking boring, still so overhyped? Odyssey and BotW were like so empty (dispite being open world level) and not really benefictial at all for the main story, Fifa? Underflail(got to admit, the music is cool)? FARTNITE?!!?!?! Third: minor things. Look at the Wii U, in the menu you are getting greeted by a frking Mii you have created, many other miis from other players rush in to fill the empty Menu, then the Options, Icons, Games, ETC pops in.(When you have your birthday set, the wii U even gratulates you with a rebate coupon) And the Switch? I felt like they copy/pasted the nintendo DS menu just enlarged HD texture.

I'm not a Microsoft fan, but there is a difference between allowing your client to use their own style of humor to promote your product, and letting your client tell people that the product they're being paid to support is garbage.

The rest of the arguments in this video are completely valid, and Microsoft deserves getting shit for lots of reasons, but in this case i think dunkey just made a mistake.

To add on to exhibit Z: The Final Fuckening (5:24) When Castle Crashers was released, Playable characters such as the King, Open Faced Gray Knight, Evil Cultist, and the Necromancer were all unlocked by completing certain levels on the Insane Difficulty (For Example, you got the Necromancer once you finish the industrial castle) However, Microsoft decided that for the Xbox 360 version of the game, you had to purchase a Character Pack using the Microsoft Points (remember the 400 for 5$ bullshit?) The reason why this was stupid was because that meant all profits were going directly to Microsoft rather than the Behemoth; who had publicly stated that all their DLC revenue made from the Pink Knight and Blacksmith packs would have gone to a charity to stop Breast Cancer. So yeah, fuck Microsoft.

Donkey Kongs, Banjo Kazooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Diddy Kong Racing, etc. They were a great studio and second party developer for Nintendo. Then Microsoft bought them off and they've been reduced to essentially a shovelware company that's nothing more than an empty shell of what they used to be. This is most likely because of Microsoft's management over them, which in turn lead to a lot of good talent leaving, which made Rare become even shittier.

+Jupiter9099 Actually, bad business decisions are mostly to blame for Rare's demise. To be perfectly frank, Conquers Bad Fur Day is quite possibly the most unsuccessful game Rare ever put out. And, that's saying a lot considering Donkey Kong 64 actually lost money for Rare as a result of designing the game the way they did, because of the whole Expansion Pack curfufle. So yeah, you cannot blame Microsoft for that at all. Microsoft cleaned up after Rare had basically gone completely out of business. Top it off, Rare's final projects were terrible. They made consistently bad decisions left and right for years.

Download Linux mint, install it, realize it has more than twice less prompts than windows during install, open the settings to install drivers and install all the shit you need from the builtin Linux store. To trap humans inside a machine of games, similar to how humans trap ants in ant farms. Look at the design of an xbox. It has the same dimensions as an ant farm.

Their worst decision was buying Rare in 2002, and buying Ensemble earlier in 2001. They ended up not ruining Ensemble at first, but then Ensemble had a big idea for a Halo MMO because they were tired with RTS’s, then Microsoft turned it down and made Ensemble work on another RTS. That RTS was a Halo game which later ended up being Ensemble’s final game, that game was Halo Wars in 2009. They ruined Ensemble, but it’s far from what they did with Rare. Everybody from the N64 era left Rare, and after that they made subpar games that were just placeholders so Microsoft could at least have some exclusives to release that year before the big boys could release. I know Sea of Thieves was ok, but if they keep going and Rare is not showing any success, I honestly think Rare’s end is in sight.
I guess that's why Sea of Thieves is highly anticipated. Why it topped number one on Twitches most viewed for multiple days and come launch will likely be a huge success and will likely top Twitch again when tournaments for CS and League aren't on.

So they can just buy out many big and small ips, like what Disney did. I hope antitrust acts on their Blizzard deal but history says they won't. What this does is , starts an asset competition where the big players start scrambling to buy out whatever's left, like sony did for bungie. Except, sony had to spend 72% of their on hand cash to buy bungie for 3.6 billion while Microsoft had to spend around 45% to buy Activision for 70 billion. There's just no scale here. Gamepass isn't profitable rn , and just like Netflix they can keep losing money on it until they're the default and the dominant player and Sony can't do that for long. However sony has the better brand , and better talent rn . If they can keep the fight in their favour for this generation (and they can do it considering the PS5 is so much more in demand than the xbox) , that would help balance the scale as Microsoft might not be as willing to handing blank cheques to xbox like they're doing rn. Also a game requires more stuff than just throwing money. In the end , for at least the near future, we're in for a treat , just like when streaming wars started . After that though, it's anybody's game. Essay over.

dont like it either, but (at least) its less then half of what sony, microsoft are charging, (sony even invreased their price in my country, so fuck them) nintendos online struggled in my experience for example in smash, where some rounds were just super laggy and completely unplayable, so i can see them putting the online money into good use, mainly because nintendo had some financial hardships in the last console generation unlike sony and microsoft, who just fuck everyone up with full price titles plus season pass for the same price plus microtransaction to actually play a game competitive. and the thing about nintendo is that many games work just beautifully as a single player, let alone zelda, maybe mario odyssey, xenoblade and a lot of the indie eshop titles. (older titles, the last story, other mario games, donkey kong etc.) a lot of games, that dont actually need online play. Every ps4/xbox game needs a day one patch with up to 40gb, because they give out games unfinished and probably never finish it if it sells well (mass effect) or just bring out the exact same game as last year (cod, fifa, assassins creed, battlefield etc.)

When Castle Crashers was released, Playable characters such as the King, Open Faced Gray Knight, Evil Cultist, and the Necromancer were all unlocked by completing certain levels on the Insane Difficulty (For Example, you got the Necromancer once you finish the industrial castle)
However, Microsoft decided that for the Xbox 360 version of the game, you had to purchase a Character Pack using the Microsoft Points (remember the 400 for 5$ bullshit?)
The reason why this was stupid was because that meant all profits were going directly to Microsoft rather than the Behemoth; who had publicly stated that all their DLC revenue made from the Pink Knight and Blacksmith packs would have gone to a charity to stop Breast Cancer.

So yeah, you cannot blame Microsoft for that at all. Microsoft cleaned up after Rare had basically gone completely out of business. Top it off, Rare's final projects were terrible. They made consistently bad decisions left and right for years.

It would be great to see an update to this study case.
Their worst decision was buying Rare in 2002, and buying Ensemble earlier in 2001. They ended up not ruining Ensemble at first, but then Ensemble had a big idea for a Halo MMO because they were tired with RTS’s, then Microsoft turned it down and made Ensemble work on another RTS. That RTS was a Halo game which later ended up being Ensemble’s final game, that game was Halo Wars in 2009. They ruined Ensemble, but it’s far from what they did with Rare. Everybody from the N64 era left Rare, and after that they made subpar games that were just placeholders so Microsoft could at least have some exclusives to release that year before the big boys could release. I know Sea of Thieves was ok, but if they keep going and Rare is not showing any success, I honestly think Rare’s end is in sight.
I guess that's why Sea of Thieves is highly anticipated. Why it topped number one on Twitches most viewed for multiple days and come launch will likely be a huge success and will likely top Twitch again when tournaments for CS and League aren't on.

What this does is , starts an asset competition where the big players start scrambling to buy out whatever's left, like sony did for bungie. Except, sony had to spend 72% of their on hand cash to buy bungie for 3.6 billion while Microsoft had to spend around 45% to buy Activision for 70 billion. There's just no scale here. Gamepass isn't profitable rn , and just like Netflix they can keep losing money on it until they're the default and the dominant player and Sony can't do that for long.
However sony has the better brand , and better talent rn . If they can keep the fight in their favour for this generation (and they can do it considering the PS5 is so much more in demand than the xbox) , that would help balance the scale as Microsoft might not be as willing to handing blank cheques to xbox like they're doing rn. Also a game requires more stuff than just throwing money.
In the end , for at least the near future, we're in for a treat , just like when streaming wars started . After that though, it's anybody's game.

nintendos online struggled in my experience for example in smash, where some rounds were just super laggy and completely unplayable, so i can see them putting the online money into good use, mainly because nintendo had some financial hardships in the last console generation unlike sony and microsoft, who just fuck everyone up with full price titles plus season pass for the same price plus microtransaction to actually play a game competitive.
and the thing about nintendo is that many games work just beautifully as a single player, let alone zelda, maybe mario odyssey, xenoblade and a lot of the indie eshop titles.
(older titles, the last story, other mario games, donkey kong etc.) a lot of games, that dont actually need online play.
Every ps4/xbox game needs a day one patch with up to 40gb, because they give out games unfinished and probably never finish it if it sells well (mass effect) or just bring out the exact same game as last year (cod, fifa, assassins creed, battlefield etc.)
